Reviews of Margiotta

Nice store, great selection of products
S. S.
We always go here, local shop on our doorstep, you get a great range of wine, beer and snacks but if you want something else, its got that as well.
Our favourite shop in the area!
T. D.
Great selection of beer, wine end high and produce

Friendly staff, good selection of products. Quite pricey, but to be expected from a convenience store. They offer a 10% student discount which helps bring the cost down. Try their £1 gnocchi, it's great!

What I particularly like about this shop is that the staff are always friendly, there's a ramp up to the front door and I think they have now changed the resistance on the door so if you're in a wheelchair you might be able to get through it without help. The entire store is on one level, at entrance point and you should be able to get round in a wheelchair, though I expect you may need help getting specific items off higher shelves or out of fridge cabinets but I'm sure staff would assist you with this if you ask. They have a wide range of items, of better quality than your average corner shop, and it includes artisan breads from Adagio and organic meat and fish from Whitmuir Farm. They also very conveniently offer a parcel receipt service. You sign up with them and if you order something online (within certain size and weight restrictions) you can get it posted to them. They send you a text when received. You then go and pick it up and pay a pound per item. Brilliant service, as they are open 7 days, to 10pm!

This is generally a good shop however we were astounded whilst in today that a dog was behind the counter barking especially when you have unwrapped food at different areas of the shop. Very disappointed to see this.

The stuff in this store is overpriced, but they have an incredible selection of cheeses and charcuterie for central Edinburgh. I come for the bread regularly - get the sea salt and rosemary focaccia. I'm only sharing this advice because I moved away - before, I would have been too concerned about getting some for myself to tip off anyone else. They run out around noon. They also run out of fruits and veggies and I wouldn't recommend buying any of their reduced stuff because it's not always edible. The margiotta brand wines are not bad.

Good small local supermarket serving the local community. Has a bit of everything and can be a bit pricey but you pay for the convenience. Ideal for milk, papers and off sales.

Came at 7 in the morning (their opening time) but the bread was absolutely not fresh at all.
Good selection of Italian foods. Quite expensive however.
M. A.
Well stocked corner shop, and eggs and milk are locally sourced and on hand when you realise you've run out. They've got a decent beer and wine selection as well. Yes, Margiotta are obviously pricier than the Tesco up in Bruntsfield or the ScotMid down the street, but they are also open later than Scotmid and closer than Tesco when you're fixing breakfast and realise there's no coffee in the house!

Great little shop. Got all everything you need from day to day between big shops or if you've forgot something when cooking and with 10% student discount, happy days all round
M.
Lovely little corner shop, 10% student discount goes far as well. Pricier than other corner shops in the area though, but it does stay open later as well.
J. J.
They stock kambucha, thank you 🙏
K. H.
Good selection, some incredibly expensive, some reasonable...ish.

Friendly, variety of nice foods and wine. Brown and/or lunch rolls lacking. Many folk can't digest white flour but still need to eat lunch!
D. N.
It's my regular corner shop. You will looove the fresh bread. Especially the baguettes and focaccia. Good wine and beer selection too
M. T.
Always a great little corner shop. Slightly more up market and better stocked than your average
I.
Quality product corner shop. There is always something interesting there to be found. Prices are higher, but again, it's rather quality place
S. S.
Anything you might need to cook something when your fridge is empty and you don't want to walk to the nearest supermarket. Good quality and locally sourced food.
R. S.
Good bread selection, a fridge full of beer and pretty much everything else you could want in local shop
S. D.
Amazing city farm! I'd give it 10 stars if possible!
T.
It's very convenient as there aren't many other shops near but it's over priced.
