Reviews of Sainsbury's
A. H.
Typical Sainsbury's store except for the over zealous security guards who remind me of Paul Blart the mall cop.
They give the impression they are the equivalent of the Metropolitan Police and I'm sure they would happily carry tazers and firearms if allowed! Rather comical in reality!
K. B.
Staff are so friendly, happy to help if you have any queries. Very competitive prices, I know because I shop at other major supermarkets. I love to cook. I can always find for example galingale and lime leaves, definitely a must for any authentic Thai curry., which we love in my household.
t.
The parking is a haunting ground for pensioners who shouldn't be driving they don't look and often drive down one way paths other than that OK inside and lots of people on hand to ask if you need help the pharmacy is a little congested
C. C.
Excelent range of food, clothing good value .
Let down by check out staff friendlys nice ,long chats and playing with toddlers a bit overboard whilst people are queing to pay for their produce
S. M.
Not my normal place to shop but it is in a convenient location with good parking. Store itself has always been well stocked when I have visited. Nice clothing and homeware section. Clean customer toilets and staff always helpful.
Also has a petrol station on site which is easy to access.
a. n.
It's very good. I got all what I need moderate price,. But the toilets are not clean.
J. H.
Not busy
.nice size store.
.was painless even at the checkout ..😁👍🏼..brilliantly quiet shop
V. H.
Nice shop, plenty of choice and offers, friendly and helpful staff highly recommended
N. F.
My visit wasn't for a full shop but the choice of easy to cook meals are reduced. There were lots of reduced items near their sell by dates. I hope this isn't signalling that people are not cutting back on their spending. I was very happy with my purchases
M. W.
This was a treat, we haven't been shopping in Sainsburys for a long time. Very good selection, was disappointed to see that the café has closed permanently from 22nd April.
L. F.
The better of the Ipswich Sainsbury's. Hadleigh road has always been pretty clean and with nice helpful and friendly staff
Z. D.
Thursday shopping around lunchtime got round fairly quickly as don't know lay out.
Got everything l needed, result 😁
N. M.
My new favourite super market, good selection of products and good value for money, their own brand products are very good quality.
D. J.
The thing I like about this store the most is. that they offer wheelchairs and wheelchair trolleys for less mobile customers. It's the only one I've seen to date. It means a lot. 👍
S. M.
Not a bad store , good variety, can be a little expensive. Good clothing range but miss the cafe that done hot food
P. N.
Hadn't been to Sainburys for a long time but I found it very nice Staff were very helpful and shelves were full Quite pleasant
M. W.
Good service but the shelves are not full and haven't got all the stock
V. M.
Im surprised, very good prices and high quality fruits and vegetables, respect
M. F.
Friendly helpful staff...... clean and tidy never seen or had any issue
T. C.
Wasn't that impressed with selection of goods but prices better that local branch.
T. E.
Great staff, very friendly, clean store and good variety of products. Last visit felt slightly under staffed but everything else still stood.
P. S.
Great staff, good produce and in a very convenient location. What's not to like?
A. L.
Friendly staff and full shelves. I don’t have high expectations but they are always met.
R. A.
Lots of choice and customer service friendly, I advise not to work here as management are very petty
S. W.
Recommended this store, a mixture of all sorts. Clothing department is worth a look.
J. H.
Sainsbury's on London Rd is always a good trip. My sister particularly enjoys it because we often have hot beverages at their caferteria. The shopping experience is always good because I normally get everything I need and the staff are always polite and helpful.
M. P.
Very clean and accessable. Wonderful choice of fruit and vegetables.
S. H.
Love this smaller store, it usually has everything you need, today sadly alot of the shelves were empty, it had most things, but empty places/slots were very noticeable today.
Its nearby, long opening hours & lots of disabled parking spaces, all flat. There are quite a few mobility chairs inside if you need them as well as wheelchairs & trolleys that fit them. Automatic doors, perfect place for the less mobile!!
The staff are long serving & really helpful & considerate if you need help with anything.
They do also have clothes, electrical goods, home goods & kitchenware, but limited to the bigger Warren Heath store which is massive.
C. G.
I love this supermarket. Such a variety of things to buy & good quality in everything.
D. T.
Its sainsburys clean tidy and well stocked
O. T.
Big store with wide range of goods for all house needs. Comfy for reasonable price
N. S.
As you'd expect. Clean, decent size so ranges pretty good.
K. P.
No changing rooms? No mens clothes either? Maybe I was just unlucky...
M. L.
Nice store excellent price and quality service friendly staff and good products 👍
S. B.
Its a super market, with a garage attached. Some clothes and food available inside as well!
B. K.
My prescription for meds was sent here, also did a bit of shopping, very good quality service and products.
L. B.
Excellent store. Helpful and friendly staff. Huge choice of clothes and good. I'm never disappointed here. This particular store will always hold a dear place in my heart because I went walking round at at about 10am on the day I had my son... Not even realising I was in labour! (He was born shortly after and safely at home).
R. C.
It's a great place to shop with everything you need for all the family. Prices have continued to climb up due to inflation issues. Now price matching some items v Aldi.
S. M.
Food looked fabulous but we waited 1/2 hr for someone to take our order then gave up and left. They probably had "Pinged" staff shortages. They seemed very young and inexperienced. 1 waitress said I'll be right back to clear your table and the last we saw of her she was headed for the car park and didn't cone back. I know it's tough for the hospitality industry, getting back on their feet but the staff needed an experienced supervisor. I wish them well. It's a beautiful venue.
S. T.
I have not got a problem as such with my local store but I had ordered sandwiches for a party today from party food to order and unfortunately when I went to collect it today the order was short of a whole platter to feed 6. The gentleman behind me also had his order messed up neither of us had received notification from sainsburys that we would have a shortfall of what we had ordered and had to pay for upfront. The staff at customer services were very apologetic and it wasn't their fault. They were unable to do a refund and we have to wait for it tobe sorted come on sainsburys you had two weeks notice of my order its not good enough. Will I order party food again probably not I will go elsewhere.
r. b.
Firstly, it's odd to write a review of an out of town supermarket. They're kinda all the same, no?
This used to be my weekly shop when I lived locally. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Fresh produce is handled well - it's not bruised\damaged, so it lasts longer at home.
During lockdown they were pretty disciplined with their mask wearing/distancing - it was noticeably more comfortable to shop there, even compared to other Sainsbury sites.
Now we've moved across town it doesn't make sense to travel there for our grocery shop...but if we're on that side of town for any reason, we'll take the opportunity to grab the week's food there.
Knocked a star off because the recycling area isn't always functional (closed or full hoppers)
A.
Sainsbury is my go to as close to home quality product and speedy service
D. M.
Always a good service and quality products in Sainsbury's.
J. K.
Gogal say they do produce , I went there and they don't do that product not happy
J. B.
Pretty good, never very busy
W. B.
Very good day for what you want okay
P. C.
Sainsbury's Hadliegh rd Ipswich is an excellent shop and the personal are very helpful
á. b.
They have a great meal deal selection
M. S.
A typical Sainsbury's outer urban store. Wide aisles, plenty of parking and additional product ranges such as the TU clothing can be found at this store. There is also cashpoints outside, and a large covered bike rack for those cycling to the shop.
B. F.
Nothing to complain about! A good size store with week stocked shelves. Car parking is better than at most supermarkets as the separation marks are wider giving a bit extra space between vehicles. Has a cafe, good selection of clothes and home wares and a pharmacy.
M. R.
Not enough tills open so had to use, self serve, which I do not like, but assistance was given by staff
P. M.
Food side is very good, most of the meat bought in here is top class ,I'd recommend most of there items
T. H.
We like what Sainsbury's have to offer. We usually go to the Warren Heath branch but today we were this end of town and took advantage while here.
S. F.
Good choice of veg, frozen food very limited. Alway's find this Sainsbury's a bit of a boring shop to go round. Once i start shopping i just want to get done & out even the cafe doesn't interest me here, i prefered it how it used to be when it was more open to the store. Shop was clean & plenty of cashier's. This Sainsbury's is just not for me im afraid.
J. C.
This Sainsbury's has a petrol station and an automated car wash, which does a surprisingly good job, although it is inferior to the Tesco automated car washes, from my experience. The car park is huge (a great place for learner drivers to practise) and has a sizeable recycling area. The store itself is excellent and well laid out, all on one floor.
J.
Not sure what anyone looks for in a review of a supermarket. It's a sainsburys so it isn't cheap but you know at least it has whatever you're looking for if you need more than just the basics from Lidl. Staff have been hit or miss in the past but the store itself is clean and well stocked. Sells clothes, games, electronics, seasonal bits (outdoor stuff and so on), pretty beefy bakery section (their pavlova is GORGE) and the reduced yellow label sections are treasure troves in themselves (although this has nothing to do with the store itself). Has a nice variety of alcohol as well, exchange counter and tobacco and that. Customer toilets are a big plus and it isn't too massive.
S. M.
Apart from the air-conditioning making it too cold, a typical Sainsbury's. Fairly good selection of brands and products. Disappointed they didn't have the individual size boxes of cereals as in other stores.
J. W.
Only went in for few things while in Ipswich. Disappointed to find fruit I'd intended to buy was mouldy but fortunately the cashier noticed before charging me for it. Fresh goods probably need to be checked more often.
P. M.
I went in to get pet food had loads of stock, They had the product I was looking for. Not much of a queue Plus plenty of parking all round good job
p. d.
Amazing variety, great offers around the corner. I guess they should work on stock when labelling something on offer.
J. F.
Does what it needs to and not too many gaps on the shelves
A. S.
Hadleigh Rd Sainsbury's is a reasonable place, not as big as the Warren Heath one, but larger than the town centre one.
Has a lot going for it in a lot of respects, but...
N. L. T.
Smaller store but good range of food, clothing, seasonal products, music/books, household, etc. Very friendly and helpful staff.
M. M.
Customer service is very good, I have short on the money, and ask to go out the ATM to get more money, the lady was very kind, told me nicely go to Customer service when I come back, kind tone, humble body language. In 5minutes time my trolley was already waiting for me at the Customer service desk were I paid and took my trolley off.
j. h.
Love the clothes will buy again.
S. L.
This branch has existed here for a very long time. It has a good range and is effectively a large corner shop, compared to out of town supermarkets.
R. L.
All the managers do is pose around the store.
That one with the blonde hair is as bout as much use as a chocolate fire guard and the staff I chat with can not stand her or that meatloaf looking geezer. Come on Sainsburys sort it out.
Treat your staff better.
P. S.
Still a poor selection of gluten free foods! And still at exorbitant prices! Other goods though are very reasonable!!
S. F.
Good store, and prices are quite good now with the Aldi price match, makes the store more competitive.
K. G.
Plenty of stock of fresh produce and bakery items. Friendly staff. Clean store.
F. P.
There is a disinfection station at the entrance, which is lovely!
But the best of Sainsbury's is always the friendly and approachable staff every time you need some help!
Great place to shop!
I. K.
Nice tidy supermarket with very helpful and friendly staff. Had all the items required and good quality too.
J. A.
It's a good and big store.
C. G.
Doing Smart Shop and saving money, very pleased. Plenty of help if I needed it.Friendly helpful staff.
G. D.
My good old local. Always has plenty here for me. Friendly and helpful staff
i. b.
Very convenient for shopping but sad news they are closing the Caffe so can't pop in and have a coffee with friends
L. J.
Helpful, friendly staff. Clean and well stocked store .
V. S.
High quality at very reasonable prices. Their precooked meals are great and reasonably priced.
J. G.
I like the store alot ,but it's a shame shelves were nit more filled ,sone things I could not get ,so ended up going elsewhere .
J. I. B.
Nice store, not massive but good selection, now with a click & collect facility,
S. A.
Excellent service every thing available but no halal meat and chicken as Muslim do shopping another store do all shopping here except halal meat
A. S.
Let's be very clear the 5 Stars are for the staff one being the lady named Paula who works on the home section she is always working hard and has excellent customer service, she will go out of her way to help, if it's not on the shelf she has gone out the back to look for me, super friendly a lovely lady has a lovely smile ☺️, a fabulous asset to Sainsburys.
And lady named Donna she is by far the best on self service fast & efficient, noticed how patient & sweet she is especially with the elderly.Love chatting wit her always makes me laugh.
Over all the staff are amazing.
Now ZERO stars for the management for their lack of presence not good for their staff or the store or the customers which brings me the zero stars issues...
The meal deals are the worst out of all the shops not everything is in it and most of the time there isn't much left.
Hot food counter hmmmm.... Not much hot of anything at times, and I suspect that's a cost thing being tight and not the staffs fault.
The toilets are vulgar!!
Lack of fresh produce.
Messy DIRTY store, I know it's Halloween but the cobwebs are all year round.
And freezing at times and I mean FREEZING , I feel sorry for the staff on the shop floor, it's not nice for us customers but at least we can choose to leave or be quick which means we aren't going to spend as much, I've been a customer for many years and every winter there's heating issues.
A little bit of music would boost the moral and atmosphere in the store it doesn't have to be blasting.
I pop in on my lunch hour and occasionally after work I pop in for the lovely service and because it's convenient, but I do not do my weekly shop here because of the reasons above and because its far to expensive!
I would also like to say that as a customer I am shocked and appalled to hear fellow customers gripe and be rude about 10p bags.... ((((take in your own bags)))) it is really that SIMPLE!! Extremely selfish and actually a well done to Sainsburys!!
D. F.
Easy to park. Not crowdidly busy in the isles. Stock availiable. Happy staff. Prices a bit high .50p on some confectiory products, if 10 to 20 pence higher could be accepted but .50 p per bar or bag is too much. Clean shop. A good selection of sizes in all fashions. Prices very acceptable for the clothes.
C. W.
Had a great breakfast here - real quality. Set me well for the following 4 days at Beautiful Days festival!
D. W.
It's a very well stocked store with plenty of choice for both food and clothing. I used it for a few Christmas presents and birthday presents in the past as well. Starfire amenable when I had to return some items of clothing and the quality of the products have been consistently good throughout the years.
P. W.
Great stock & not too crowded.
J. R.
Clean & bright & Checkout lady very pleasant. A few bargains from Christmas, enjoyed the experience. Clothes section good as catered for mature ladies too which makes a change.
R. a.
A good variety of plants, tools and furniture on offer.
Disappointed to note quite a number of the roses had black spot.
T. A.
Prior to weekly visits to Hadleigh Road, Ipswich store have used on-line shopping at this location since the beginning of the Covid 19. With very few exceptions delivery, on-line web-site and text messaging have all been excellent. I have also visited the store for small amounts in between home-delivery. Thank you to all your staff for their excellent work during, what must be for them, hectic and anxious at times. Thank you - oh - and looking forward to visiting the cafe again soon. xx
P. A.
Lovely store, well laid out with great selection of stock, and helpful staff.
P. C.
I love this Sainsbury's, it is not as overwhelming as the Warren Heath outlet and feels comfortable to be in and not normally overcrowded. Down size is it doesn't stock every Sainsbury's item, but that's fine for us. You get to recognise the staff who are always friendly and polite.
S. S.
Excellent quality food and good value, ethical business model, COVID compliant, very pleasant helpful staff, the disabled bays usually have blue badge holders occupying them.
M. W.
Didn't use the main shop.
Used the FREE air to do my sons car tyres. All good, job done 👍👍
M. B.
Quality food at very reasonable prices, most certainly in the top 3 of supermarkets
H. C.
I used to really like Sainsbury's but my enthusiasm is waning.
My last two visits to the two big Sainsbury's in ipswich left me feeling that I was wasting my time.
Compared to the Tesco's in Martlesham they both seemed understocked and with very little choice and the folks at the checkout seemed quite underwhelmed at having to work there.
L. I.
Closing the cafe on 23rd April.
Another shop off my list.
S. B.
They always have a variety of different brands to choose from including their own brand which is good value and quality. There meat and fish is always fresh. Veg and fruit is good quality and there's never any waste. The store is always clean and welcoming and the staff very helpful.
C. C.
Good range of products.
W.
It was a very good place and had a very nice time exploring the walkways of the place, there was a nice amount of trolleys and they were spread about the place in nice places to get to and I had a nice time pushing them the wheels did definitely go round and round and not up and down which is always a good sign, the selection was good and they had a lot of selection to select from I did that and was happy with the selection I selected the staff were all wearing their uniforms so I could see who was working there and who to avoid (most of the customers were very clearly Tories, and would have cut my paycheck if I made eye contact) so I knew who I could smile under my mask at and who to look at the floor as I passed. Thank you sainsburys for providing me with my weekly bread and cheese may the best be given to your staff who are nice people and say hello and goodbye and say nice conversations with. Thank you for being a shop that is get able to and nice to be in and out thank you and good bye frens.
H.
OK, I've lived within a mile of this store for over 20 years, so you could say it's very convenient; well, it is, and not just because of the distance. They hardly ever mess about with the location of goods (ignoring the recent major refurb). I love that - I know where everything is, my shopping lists are always written so that I have a smooth flow through the store. The staff are great, always helpful and willing to show me where things are (that are new to me), The pharmacy and staff are extremely helpful - which is very important considering the amount of use it gets by my family, Parking is always possible, even at the busiest of times, and I usually manage to get very close to the store entrance. I rarely have problems at checkouts, although, naturally, longer waiting times at very busy periods. I do occasionally use other stores, but only if I'm passing and need something in a hurry. I know I can get some stuff cheaper elsewhere - there's a great farm shop where I can get good veg - but it's 5 miles away! To me, convenience, excellent service, and politeness are very important. I would definitely recommend this store!
L. F.
I think Sainsbury's attitude towards customer service is very good. It starts with a decent space to park your car in as the bays are wide, followed shortly by excellent quality products. Both my wife and I love the dele counter and normally finish our shop with lunch in the café. Great shop.
H. S.
I have always enjoyed shopping here but today I only went in for some bread flour, I saw a scarf I liked so put that in my basket too, the checkouts were really busy so I went through the self serve, I normally get a receipt but I stupidly said no thinking I was helping the environment, as I was coming out the alarm went off and I realised immediately that it was the scarf, and of course I had no receipt!!!! I was quite happy that he needed to check this out and gave him my reward card but he was so intimidating he made me feel awful, pushing infront of a lady waiting to pay for he magazine, and demanding that the cashier checked for a receipt, which she did, he then just handed my card back and walked off.
I know that I should have got a receipt and he was only doing his job, which I was ok with but his attitude made me feel like a criminal it was awful
P. G.
Ok for good quality produce. Fair amount of decent offers you just have to look for them .
C. F.
Excellent choice of products and services. Well worth a visit
F. C.
Lovely friendly staff, excellent variety of stock at a good price
W. H.
Nice size supermarket & you can get most of your items here + a few electrical & clothing items as well. Plenty of free parking & the car park is laid out well with good spacing. Handy sainsbury's petrol station next to it which is always good on price.
A. O.
Easy to navigate, products had good shelf life in fresh
S. W.
Going downhill poor stock levels greengrocery and regular stock items low or unavailable, accept Covid may be a issue. But with doing away with the deli, fresh meat etc will probably shop elsewhere next year if things don't improve . Shame after 45 years shopping at Sainsburys.
G. B.
It's a nice supermarket. Wide variety of food, household items, clothes, electronics and foreign exchange. Restaurant offers a good selection of hot and cold meals. All staff helpful and nice. Oh and toilets clean.
L. R. (.
Always friendly staff
D. C.
Lovely bright store with plenty of isle space. Large selection of fresh breads, large pharmacy. There's a cafe on the next floor which has a lift for disability users. Ample parking
c. h.
Pretty much always have what I need, some things can be a bit pricey but it’s the same wherever you go, depends on deals and what’s most popular etc. Nearly always open and I’ve rarely ever been stuck in a cue there before which is a huge bonus, they’re pizza counter is genius I love it and they’re selection of close is improving along with their baby items ☺️
G. H.
Love it. It's brighter. It's roomier. The aisles are wider. It's infinitely nicer than Tesco. You can navigate around the shop without having to move out of other shopper's way. You never seem to suffer clogged up aisles where staff are loading up bags for the home delivery shopper's that blights Tesco. If you have to go to the supermarket......make it this one!
S. G.
Range keeps shrinking only to be replaced by trendy pseudo health foods which can be bought much cheaper elsewhere. Vegetable quality jas gone downhill. Poor quality and empty shelves. Cauliflowers compostable. Were advertising avocados 60 p and never had any in stock throughout offer
E. A.
Plenty of car parkìng.
The store is well stocked, well lit with helpfull polite staff, who are happy to help.
D. E.
Great supermarket.
It is never too busy and is always easy to park, with larger than normal parking spaces.
J. H.
The two girls on shift at the fuel station tonight were great. Briefly opened up the barriers for me to get through to the air pumps so I didn't have to go all around in the streets
T. H.
The name speaks for itself
Cheap as chips
k. p.
Great all round supermarket that has a petrol station, big car park with easy park spaces.
Inside theres a cafe and toilets, lottery and cash exchange counter.
They originally had a meat, cheese and fish deli/counter but that had now been removed for reasons unknown also gone is the cooked chicken counter with the sausages, potatoes etc..but the pizza counter remains (that can be cooked while you wait) my 5 star review is reduced to 3 because of this as supermarkets like MORRISONS are able to keep there counters/deli
There TU clothing brand is also there with a fair range of mens, womens and children's clothes
L. s.
Use this Sainsbury’s most of the time. Gd choice of clothes, toys and food. The restaurant is always nice. Friendly lady on the till most of the time we go there. Toilets always clean.
E. I.
Disappointed. Dropping standards. Poor quality fruit n veg that day. Wednesday. Shelves empty. No staff filling them up. Food had been left all over the store by customers who had changed their minds. Frozen food in bread and clothing sections. Staff not on the ball.
C. J.
Always great to shop in Sainsbury. Wide selection of food and beautiful Christmas gifts.
L. S.
I gave 3 stars not for store shopping, that's good. Only 3 stars for the cafe. Tables often have dirty dishes on cus the customers can't take there dishes away when the rack hasn't been emptied. Also when you buy any food that needs butter, it's rock hard. If Tesco & Morrison's can have soft butter why can't Sainsburys. It is winter after all.
h.
Well stocked with groceries, clothes and homeward. This store also gas a decent in-store cafe and an in-store bakery. Good customer service and good variety.
7. Д.
Good ,big,nice shop 🤗
R. A.
A little disappointed recently. There is nothing worse than going to a supermarket to get veggies and fruit and the shelves are empty and there are spoilt veggies in packets and pre-prepared fruit gone bad in their packages... Not a good look. I have noticed that standards have been slipping a little of late, which is a shame really, with so much competition out there, you really need to take this into consideration, or people with go elsewhere.
C. “. L.
Solid shop, wouldn't wanna work there as I don't suit orange and I'd like like a huge satsuma. Besides that good place fir a shop if you earn enough to get yourselves out of Lidl
L. P.
Staff were helpful and polite whilsr respecting new guidelines for Covid 19. Managed to get everything I needed, including flour, even though I shopped early evening on Saturday.
S. P.
Today we had omelettes but sadly they were over cooked and not as delicious as they have been in the past. We regularly eat and very much enjoy our breakfast, so today was an unusual occurrence.
R. L.
Love this little Sainsburys on Hadleigh Rd. There's always parking available, with biggish bays... which is a bonus! Great quality produce, everything from clothes, electricals, toys and a wide range of foods. Very nice coffee shop too... Oh and friendly, happy staff! First class... 😁
K. L.
Just popped in for a few pieces was pleased to see all covid restrictions in place felt comfortable to shop with social distancing not too busy
S. S.
Really helpful and knowledgeable staff.
G.
Place is fine in general , ready for festive mood . Lost a star because the greeting guy got a weird look on his face and seems to be mute.
C. H.
Ok but bit pricey
W. A.
It's fairly busy now (2pm) but everybody is socially distancing and it is soo easy to find what you're looking for, staff are really nice too
M. W.
Quiet. Polite and friendly staff who, within social distancing rules, are helpful. It felt calm in this store even though it was nearly closing time.
S. K.
Nicely laid out shop with good stocked shelves.. Normal great quality vegetable salad and fruit range.. plenty of parking also..
P. A.
Sainsburys has nearly all the groceries and suchlike that I need (although I get most of my fruit and veg at Kays) and a more pleasant atmosphere than the nearer Asda. Also plenty of parking space, and conventional tills still as well as the self-service ones that I dislike intensely. A downside is that their Nectar reward scheme afaik still has an association with the Daily Mail, so I don't use it.
S. G.
Lovely big shop with wide aisles and clean shopfloor.
Has very helpful and happy staff. Lovely clean cafe with large customer toilets.
With huge bariety of produce. A very happy shopping trip.
J. M.
Reliable, and trustworthy.
Friendly staff. Reliable...
F. C.
This is a mid-size store, bigger than the "local" stores, but smaller than the typical out-of-town supermarket sprawl. They have most of the same stuff as the larger stores but somewhat smaller clothing and homeware sections. The car park is longer than it is wide, and slots near the store are prioritised for disabled and families, so you don't get to park as close as the size of the store would imply.
E. D.
Staff are very helpful.
A. G.
I use the local Sainsbury partly due to the range offered, but also the vouchers I receive through the Nectar card offers for £9 or £12 vouchers if you spend over £60.00 per visit. Yes you can shop cheaper at other supermarkets who possibly do not have the same range of products. I have noticed that certain prices have increased due to the Xmas factor !!
J. J. M.
Almost everything is available here...
D. R.
Sunday morning at 09:30 is a quiet time to go although the tills don't open until 10:00. Shelves well stocked.
D. C.
Good cheap cider, decent e5 petrol
D. C.
Disappointed to see some staff wearing no masks and some staff wearing their marks under their chin. To keep safe we should all wear our masks responsibly ..health issues excepted
R. C.
Excellent store even on a Sunday when a lot of others stores have empty shelves. Staff are always helpful and will go and look for anything I can't find. Plenty of car parking.
S. K.
Love Sainsburys - quality is as you’d expect a S the store is always well lit and welcoming
N. N.
Clean and easy to access everything you need. Great quality of fruit and veg.can pick up the odd bargain too.
f. h.
Standards have dropped. We found lack of chinese ready meals.what we had was quite tasteless. Awfull bananas and little shoice. So called fresh samoses were quite stale.
r. w.
All good very happy thanks will use them again
T. T.
Good shop, there were a few empty shelves, but that might have been the time of day.
E. R.
Well organized,
Lots of different things.
But I'm sad because couldn't find nothing from Brazil
M. C.
Brilliant throughout the store
K. l. B.
I absolutely love shopping at Sainsburys. I am a home cook, ie like to find fresh, ingredients. I can always source every thing I need to whip up a favour full meal.
W. R.
Well it s a nice shop and staff are very nice helpful with disabilities and with covid problems they seem to be doing a good job there
A. B.
Big store but well laid out so you can find your way around. Friendly staff, and easy parking in large spaces. As they go, one of the better superstores you will find.
G. L.
Every one loves a supermarket, great fruit and veg, pharmacy, lottery, cash point, petrol station, no post box , got removed a few years ago. Used by loads of people. Car wash by hand and by machine, clothes and gifts.
A. 5.
Improving their special offers via their app. Lots of points to be had
a. h.
Always my first choice not the cheapest supermarket but I like the quality staff very friendly & helpful hopefully they will continue to cut back on plastic been shopping there for 60 years so good recommendation
D. B.
A good store. Easy to find it. Isn't busy but is a little expensive and from that reason I can't give 5 stars
R. P.
I was very disappointed in the limited amount of hand sanitiser that was available. Only 1 sanitiser station as you enter the shop. Other supermarkets have them at the ends of isles. Also none near the toilets which I think is essential.
S. C.
Standard Sainsburys, seemed well stocked and clean. What more could you want from a supermarket?
I. l.
I am going into the store almost daily,so in town centre and 5 minutes from my home,me and my boyfriend love to do our shopping there, love the fact that they have fast lanes where you can pay by yourself☝️
S. D.
Sainsburys is the cleanest large supermarket in Ipswich. As got a great level and the prices are very popular. Even for kitchen stuff
is the best. Also the petrol station complements the business. Yes, is also a question of love.
M. J.
Love Sainsburys why don,t I ever get any vouchers I spend a lot of money there, I see people at checkout with loads of vouchers could you look into this please
R. D.
Really nice place to go for shopping. All l need under one roof. Parking is very easy and trolleys are always available.
P. W.
Easy parking at this time, but in store shelves needed filling up. Couldn't get every thing I needed.
H. t. R.
It's sainsburys. Not an overly busy one either always parking avaliable, no long queues at check out
G. K.
I have more or less always shopped at Sainsbury.... People say that Sainsburys is expensive but it is not really cause their produce is second to none.....
A. N.
I checked out only the kitchen stuffs, and they were really good. The store is big, can easily spend 2-3hrs just looking around
A. C.
Tried to use the shopping and scan app..the O2 wifi doesnt work once you get into the store, so i had to use my own data.
J. B.
Cafe was excellent although the panini took a long time to be toasted as did cooking the chips. Hot Chocolate was excellent however. Additionally, the super market was as expected from a supermarket
L. B.
Very nice now. Only one down side. If l have to do a month shop. I have take the car out of the car park and start again.
H.
Good place 4 shopping. Everything u need really. Only wish they sold Walls Mint choc chip ice cream as the Sainsburys own is not good & mint choc chips my favourite!!
Lloyds chemist is also very good in store.
Car park is very spacious although it seems they are way too many disabled and patent & child spaces....they r always half or more empty everytime I go (which is 2 - 3 times a week, at various times. To be fair though, this may be a mandatory amount, that they have to provide by law.
Also I wish they'd get their trollies out of the river!!!! (walk sometimes in down the path behind the garage). I saw a bird that had got caught up & had drowned....poor thing. I reported this in store & no-one seemed 2 care & did not say the would report this to the appropriate person! They may not have put the trollies in bit I feel it's still their responsibility to manage this issue!!
They have also dropped wrapping flowers which is also rather disappointing!
J. W.
I love this store, love the clothes and usually enjoy the food but not today, I just had a sandwich and was very disappointed the ham was fatty and the cheese processed so not impressed also there were only three sanwiches in total to choose from.
N. B.
It's not a mega store, but has everything you need. Good place to go when special offers are on as will still have stock when larger stores (Warren heath) run out.
I. B.
Plenty of parking for parents only and we only used the cafe which was having a bad day with some of the sandwich fridges not working which created longer waits. The staff were still helpful and friendly.
j. c.
Very big and spacious store with very helpful and friendly staff
J. B.
They have hand sanitizer, and wipe down your trolley before going into the store. Great
J. B.
Nice staff and most things in stock...
J. G.
Nicely set out store, friendly staff, good prices on food and home items, quite often there isn't enough staff on checkouts
G. S.
Good selection always seem to have what I need happy to shop there.
I. E.
Great store, large parking area, well trained and excellent service, should something not be on the shelf be sure to ask the staff. it's usually quiet after 7 o'clock.
K. R.
Great until someone smashed into the car wash at the petrol station! Could do with it staying open later so I could pop in after work, shuts at 2200 during the week.
p. d.
Wonderful shop , Best price, always fresh food, always clean and tidy, wonderful people, always friendly professional staff ready to help highly recommend
D. G.
Good stock of clothing went twice also quick self service..
D. P.
Best place to shop if you're lactose intolerant like me, but it's not the cheapest.
v. o.
Little bit expensive
D. G.
Fortunately covid prohibts all but brief visits. Otherwise I just could not carry all that I might buy!
P. S.
Nice store and very friendly staff! Just spotted these on the shelf. May get through a box or ten before Christmas.
H. P.
Toy sale was pretty rubbish the small sainsbury's in ipswich had better selection. Home area of store currently closed under going refit
B. W.
Quick and easy to shop, car park needs to be a better maintained though.
J. M.
Clean store, shelfs filled, nice when cafe will open think its 21st june.
C. F.
A fairly standard Sainsbury store but not big enough have as wide a range of clothing as, say, the one at Stanway. The restaurant served me Hunter's Chicken that came without either bacon or cheese. (Odd!)
N. H.
Lovely staff at this store but the cat food has gone up about 50pence outrageous
F. P.
Staff is really friendly and always ready to help the customers find what they need, always with a smile on their face.
I. P.
Good food
S. P.
Lovely clothes they sell.. and very reasonable prices too.!
K. M.
I bought a pair of chinos and an iron .... and got 150 extra Nectar points because it's Sainsbury's 150th. anniversary so I am very happy at the moment 😀👍
T. C.
A short visit but all required items were in stock. Relatively pleasant which from someone who dislikes shopping is praise indeed.
C. K.
Very handy. You can buy most groceries and some other bits at this supermarket. I love the cold deli counter
P. C.
Quiet shopping area, so much under one roof, large free parking area, the staff are friendly and helpful. Variety and quality of confectionary section is next to none
J. S.
Good supermarket and i do think it's getting cheaper in Sainsbury's compared to a few years ago.
D. G.
Great price for Guinness
E. J.
I enjoy sainsburys for the special things if I needed something specific. But cannot shop here weekly any more due to the huge savings we make shopping in aldi which is also closer.
J. J.
Parking is very easy as never overcrowded. Good selection of organic food & staff always willing to help. Also very cheerful
H. C.
Good parking. Usually fully stocked. My favourite supermarket
A. J.
Very polite staff, always ready to be helpful. Parking is also very good. Have never struggled to find what o need.
A. H.
I do use cheaper stores, but quality of meat so dependable here. Cafe good value - coffee good.
A. G.
It's a good sized store. Was quite shocked at the wine prices though! Lots of wine over £10, quite a bit over £20. Ouch
G. S.
Your typical Sainsburys. Good selection of food, drink and household items all of good quality. The basic range is also very good for those on a budget.
C. H.
Not a bad store, has most things you need. I just find Sainsburys a bit pricey
I. C.
Very good service
t. i. L.
Some good deals and lovely stsff
S. C.
Staff good and helpful. Some customers forget to keep distance.
H. S.
It's a supermarket. ...it's not the cheapest either. Better than having to hunt and gather oneself. Ummmm...yeah....what else is there to say? "Stop using plastic to wrap everyyhing"?....
K. W.
Helpful staff. Right products at the right price. Reasonably priced restaurant and quick service. Suits me fine.
A. S.
Easy to find items you want, and very nice food.
A. J. W.
Ample parking, not too busy, and a couple of nice surprises - as well as the department store section, there's a little cafe tucked away in the far end of the store...
M.
Good selection, stuff you cant find from the smaller sainsburys in town
A. C.
Friendly and helpful as alway #PANTZ #CREED
D. B.
You will find most things you need and the staff are lovely🙂
P.
Managed to get everything i wished for apart from Gastro sausage rolls, which was disappointing to say the least. But made up for it by getting a giant Chicago town pizza with extra lard.
k. j.
Good quality products and lovely costumers service
D. B. F. D.
Easy to get to, easy parking, had items I needed when shopping.
L. H.
Clean and well laid out
M. M.
Since the move around have got rid of the print your own photo's booths
I know most people have the internet and tablets etc but my Nans & Grandads haven't and like to show there friends.
Now have to venture into the town to do this on my lunch :(
Hopefully Waitrose / JL will pickup this
S. S.
Lovely staff everything there for a good shop
G. M.
Good store, but as it's one of the smaller ones you can't get some items that are in the larger store
D. E.
Great choice of products but a bit more pricey compared to others.
A. F.
Not a bad selection as every thing is in short supply
R. B.
We managed to get everything that we went in for. So in that respect it was OK.
G. E.
Well stocked, clean and mindful of Covid with plenty of hand sanitisers around.
A. W.
Our weekly shopping spot. Clean, has everything we want, lots of parking. Staff really friendly & helpful.
L. P.
Nice as usually. Prices can be a bit higher due to its location.
J. S.
Staff were extremely helpful. Found what I needed straight away
T.
It's got all I need and at a decent price. Will get 5 stars the day they implement a handheld scanner system like tesco's does.
c. g.
Lots of delicious food and sometimes great offers too.
C. Q.
Good disabled parking, easy to navigate around store, friendly helpful staff, highly recommend
R. S.
The store has recently been changed to have an Argos outlet inside. Usual Sainsbury's range and quality but the car park is too small and often congested due to poor design.
J. W.
Really good very good choices of everything.
L. T.
Sainsburys have quality products but their drinks are a little bit more expensive
A. W.
Nightmare! an hour to check out, too many people in close proximity in view of virus as older vulnerable person think this OAP opening was bigger risk than I have taken so far, still unable to get all we needed needs rethinking the for people's safety going forward
T. J.
Very good service couldn't find jumper I had seen last week young lady showed me where it was and even got right size for me
K. H.
Lovely super store and always quiet

Parking is no issue and the layout almost matches the one in Colchester (Stanway), so no issues finding items quickly.
g. x.

V. O.
Not as big as Heath Rd Sainsbury's, so not so far to walk round - big plus. Good service, had all I needed, never long queues at checkout.
T. D.
A few items less than big sainsbury at heath but still very good and lots of parking
R. W.
Friendly staff, good clean loos. Medium sized with clothing and an Argos at the back.
R. B.
A delight to walk around and shop, staff at hand to help and advise you or show you where the item you are looking for is. Well done to Sainsbury's
