Reviews of Bumblebee Natural Foods

Great community shop with lots of variety. Can find everything from fresh fruit / veg, to a range of dried fruits, nuts and herbs / spices - all of which can be weighed or portioned into refillable containers. Owner and staff are friendly and helpful.

A very helpful lady allowed me to purchase nuts a few minutes after closing time on 28/2/22. I was very confused the first time I tried to visit because the website and google both displayed 6PM as closing time, showing up to no lights and a locked door at 5:45.

I have been local for thirty years and remain grateful to have this shop close by.
However, the question I ask is are they actually grateful for their loyal customers? I sometimes feel we are taken for granted and have started to shop else where.
Why was Bumble Bee the last shop on Brecknock road to install a protection screen for his staff and customer during the Covid crisis? And then only in the nut shop?
In the veg shop the main server in this shop wore a cotton scarf with holes it day after day. This really put me off. Ian the owner frequently wore his mask under his chin. That’s one rule for the customers and another for the blokes.
Also it took ages, Literally years to re develop the basement where the dairy used to be. in the meantime we were treated to the dirty shabbiness of a building site behind a barricade of fridges.
Finally the veg shop window has not been renovated in the thirty years that I have lived here.
Having said this, Nuit in the nut/remedies shop is excellent, we’ll informed and considerate and worthy of high praise. I mostly only come to bumble bee because of her.
Given the competition nearby, Kilo on Holloway Road which has done away with packaging and the fun of Earth in Kentish Town, Ian should now step up. It’s the 21st century. Sadly, he probably won’t.

Good selection of fruit, vegetables etc in reasonable to good condition. Dried goods and other groceries not bought on this occasion. Useful to know about veg box delivery etc (second hand), although I'm not resident in the area. I waited a little while for the detail of this process to be explained to those in front of me.

Kudos for the sensible approach to the hygiene theater. Snowflakes are free to decide where to shop.

I been a costumer for a while and I keep coming. I really appreciate Mina been able to order my requests on the shelves. I like the atmosphere here, its very personal and calm place. Clinton and other boys are nice too:) see you soon guys!

An excellent organic grocery, with friendly and knowledgable staff. I have found the produce to be of the highest quality, and I appreciate how the shop has tried hard to make itself sustainable (ie very little plastic packaging etc).
