Reviews of Chinatown
E. S.
Very colourful beautiful place. There are many restaurants all over the place displaying food in the windows, so enticing! and some shops where you can find traditional food and souvenirs. There's always queues in the restaurants at weekends, so be aware if you are very hungr, to arrive early or book in advance.

Every city has their own china town. A mark that City is a place for diversity of culture and ethnicity. China town in London represent this diversity. If you love food, you should come here and try china cuisine. They are plenty of them here

Great place, ethnic enclave in the city of Westminster London. Near Soho where you can enjoy of pubs. Amazing Chinese atmosphere where you can fill yourself like in China, can have a nice food and drinks. Just great for spending time, very different from others areas in London. Must visit spot if you are tourists. Very recommended, come and enjoy the vibe of China.
J. O.
Asian a place must visit, crave for Chinese food you have it at Chinatown. Nearest hotel is W hotel, super convenient just below the hotel is Chinatown. Enjoy the food trail!
A. A.
Beautiful lanterns and lights, variety of shops for desserts, authentic food, boba and more. Everything you could want and a great place to make photos and make memories, very striking gates and features. It can be a little confusing to navigate without maps!
K.
Beautiful and soooo much food to choose from. The shops and buildings are gorgeous and bright and colorful. You can watch the food be prepared and buy small bites to walk around with. I had an amazing time exploring this area.

Heavily crowded area, but that's a China town thingy. It's crossed even in weekdays. The good here is really good and you can try lots of Japanese, Korean and Chinese cuisines at affordable prices. The place in itself is so vibrant and colourful. It was my first time in China town and I really enjoyed walking, eating and taking pictures of the colourful restaurants.
m. k.
This market or is in the middle of Central London of whole city of China inside the heart of London it has got all restaurant Chinese cuisine restaurants and Chinese Market flooded with all Chinese goods and it is a little China in UK and it also has a wide range of variety of momos and also depicts Chinese culture because all the people out there this peak Chinese all all you can see in China is available in London to so it was also a very good experience to go there and see the real Chinese in London.
S. K.
Absolutely love Chinatown. There are dumplings every where I go. Great selection of teas and drinks too. Loon Fung Supermarket has every type of mushroom that you need. Products are reasonably priced, buy all your teas from here. Chinatown Bakery is my all time favourite, can't begin to describe how delicious their bakes are. Avoid the weekend, you can barely move around and there is a queue everywhere.
L. D. (.
The only place to find Asian vibe in London, especially during Lunar New Year holiday. Do try Vietnamese restaurant there and boba is a must try in China town.
A. G.
Nice to walk through. Have eaten in the past but this time just browsed on my way through to covent garden. Chinese New year so lanterns on display. Lots of fresh tasty food being served.
l. s.
This place, officially has a special place in my heart.my incharge allowed me to participate in Chinese New year celebrations and I'm glad because I enjoyed every bit.the diversity of all race who came to celebrate warmed my heart
The town/street/market/hotels/stalls were absolutely lovely...the different music with same synchrony...the red balloon like decorations...and the aroma
I got to eat my first Chinese meal...noodles and mixed meat...since 😋 I wanted everything 😩 (they looked sumptuous)
And best part was seeing the traditional dance 💃 and drums 🥁..
And I also got the privilege to hold Prince Charles hand for a brief moment. But that memory will last a lifetime
What else could a girl ask for.
China is now my dream destination...
A. K.
Near Leicester Square Station and Piccadilly Circus station I visited nearby area. China Town full with Chinies cuisines and sea foods alongwith other traditional meal restaurants for visitors to have rest, relax and enjoy with food and drink.
A. O.
I always have a great time when I come to Chinatown. So much to see , eat and drink .
An insane variety of medicinal shops, restaurants of different Asian backgrounds and souvenir shops. Definitely could spend a few hours exploring.
I never have issues around safety and the environment is fairly well maintained.
The proximity to Leicester Square and the underground means you can get around fairly easily and also walk over to Covent Garden, Westminster, Charing Cross etc
L. L.
It's changed a lot since I last visited pre covid. All supermarkets near the fire station have gone. Everything upgraded .More restaurants everywhere. All side by side hoping to catch your eye. Roast duck and chat Sui having in the restaurant windows to temp customers. Dim sum on offer do tantalising I love dim sum. A lot of restaurants have continental outdoor seating, covered for protection from the elements.
China town is traffic free but very busy with people. Lots of restaurants pre Xmas very busy people queing .But it's worth it.
There is Lido a chinese supermarket which has been there years.its busy and big. There are the most lovely Cake shops selling amazing decorated cakes, saviour cakes or sweet.
There are a few streets encompassing China town all decorated with Chinese lanterns swaying in the wind.
G. H.
Loads of buffet and Chinese restaurants to eat at a good price. Had to take pic of Mr Wu. Not quite Benidorm.... it was dark and raining. 🤣 very busy but it was Saturday afternoon.

Chinatown!
Oriental cuisine..
Too many options.. Difficult to choose..
Quite a few supermarkets to get South East Asian ingredients.
Great boba tea, roast meat, dumpling options.
Can easily spend an entire day or week here eating. Good entertainment centres at Leicester Square.
Again.. So many options.. One is forced to resort to Google & different "Best places to eat in Chinatown-London" lists.
Good luck!
B. P.
A real complete Chinatown, including a lot of Peking Duck-restaurants, artifacts shops, massage-and health shops etc.
Went there in the morning and it was like a wakening world with only delivery’s. During the day, Chinatown “woke up” and became a busy and cozy (as far as I could see it) town. A very special town in London, if you like things like that.
A. C.
Chinatown is still vibrant with lots to offer from picking out ingredients for making your own dim sum to enjoying amazing food.
Definitely worth a visit if you have not been before and always worth a revisit if you have!
P. G.
My first and hopefully not the last that here. It's a different place where you can see mostly Oriental food, but if you're not a fan, there's a few shops with other kind of food
Most of the shops have exclusively food, but there's a couple of massage places, gifts, etc.
C. J. G.
The closest to China in Europe.
The first area in London known as Chinatown was located in the Limehouse area of the East End of London. At the start of the 20th century, the Chinese population of London was concentrated in that area, setting up businesses which catered to the Chinese sailors who frequented in Docklands. The area was known through exaggerated reports and tales of slum housing and (the then-legal) opium dens, rather than the Chinese restaurants and supermarkets of the current Chinatown. However, much of the area was damaged by aerial bombing during the Blitz in the Second World War, although a number of elderly Chinese still choose to live in this area. After the Second World War, however, the growing popularity of Chinese cuisine and an influx of immigrants from Hong Kong led to an increasing number of Chinese restaurants being opened elsewhere.
D. S.
Try visiting both night & day. The whole concept is definitely something different that you don't see everyday. Chinatown is full of chinese restaurants, dragons, street performers and many more happenings. Try the roasted duck or the bubble tea should you visit one of their restaurants/cafes.
S. D.
The Dim Sum served at Chinatown London was sumptuous and well prepared by Hong Kong chefs. We had an awesome lunch as we were craving for Chinese food. You should try the food there.
J. V. U.
Interesting place, lots of Asian restaurants, nice food. It is busy most of the time. Be aware of pocket pickers, cause I got my phone stolen here..
s. v.
A very famous spot shown in many movies is right here. Yes!! I am talking about the China Town. For a while you forget that you are in London feeling all those China Vibes. This place is located in Covent Garden and walkable distance from the Covent Garden Underground Tube Station. Perfect place for photoholics. Food is everywhere here with nice sit-out spots to enjoy your food. To visit it is absolutely free and the food available is neither pricy too.
D. D.
Area is kinda small - restaurants serve quit good quality food for a higher than expected price. Sometimes funny "krishna" guys are having a celebration there.. Expect it to be crowded at weekend evenings! For some Restaurants you would need to wait in queue for quit a long time - but it pays off
A. A.
Happy Lunar Year, everyone! Chinatown in London has a variety of delicious restaurants and has a colourful design.
M. J.
Love this place.a different experience when you go there.you should try the bun house. Food is delicious in China town . So confused which restaurant to pick up,all are good
Definitely recommend everyone to visit China town n experience
N. S.
The best experience I have of the outside is at night, As for eating out, be prepared to wait in line, as every restaurant is popular. I think it would have been even more memorable if the street lanterns were lit. Some corners we could smell some real authentic miso, and saw some very interesting restaurant fronts. A few Supermarkets to help you buy essential food and kitchen items, not just Chinese, but Korean and a few other far eastern ones. Overall, an interesting network of streets, all themed, but I can't help feeling, it could do with an improvement with how everything is illuminated, to properly show off the architectural design and perhaps more neon rather than LED signs.
k. m.
Chinatown is absolutely gorgeous! You get all sorts of Asian food, groceries and restaurants here. It's lively, it's energetic, it's colorful and ABSOLUTELY instagrammable! Don't miss out on walking around this lantern clad space
W. C.
Very, very busy with lots of local people and tourists. Long queue to await the delicious meals being prepared. I was given quick service as the staff attended to each visitor efficiently. We sat outside with the option to sit inside. All government guidelines are still in place. Mask are still being used in stores and restaurants. Have your own wet wipes and handy sanitizer. Affordable prices depending upon what you choose. Lovely residential buildings with security. Both a mixture of mature and young adults, some with families and pets. Great seating outside with the pets. Clean environment as bins are to hand should you eat on the go! Please continue to use the bins provided. This helpful to our environmental causes. Bright lights and plenty of laughter in Chinatown, bless
Z. L.
A buzzing part of the city even during covid times. The shops are packed with people, and the scent of freshly cooked goods makes it even more welcoming. The asmosphere is so alive, that you can easily believe, you're in an asian town.
i. p.
Always busy neighborhood in central London, close to theatre district and Piccadilly. Anything oriental can be found here and restaurants are usually open till late. Car park available in Newport court as added bonus. Unmissable.
k. r.
Popular place for Chinese food lover
Plenty Chinese restaurant along the street to choose from. Take your time walking around find the food that suit you. For DIM SUM lover, this is the.right place for you. Price is affordable. Most restaurant are pack of people during lunch time and also in the weekend.I roam around this area just to feel.the place and experience the culture. You will see Chinese bakery, and small.store selling Chinese stuff like clothing Cheongsam, grocerries and etc. So it is fun to.go!
J.
Cool secret bars and lovely decorations. Biggest Chinatown I’ve been to. Would recommend looking around the supermarkets
T. v.
Great vibes only. Some restaurants aren't that great though. Choose wisely as some have minimum amount to bill your dishes. I had a bad experience where someone pulled me in and i was forced to pay to a minimum order for dish which i didn't want to order.
M. C.
Great location and friendly staff. Very expensive and the food was served to us warm. I only ended up complaining about the rice and having her take it off the bill because before we finished our mains it was so cold I couldn't bring myself to eat it. The main was lovely just warm so we could not enjoy our meal. I know they were under staffed but that's no excuse for warm food when it's £12 for a main. Really gutted as we were really looking forward to a great meal.
B. B.
A really nice place to visit, with all the lanterns across the pavements. We had lunch in a really nice restaurant. £10.00 a head, Chinese buffet. Toilets were nice and clean.
K. N.
Always a pleasure win in London explore Chinatown Guilford Piccadilly and then just walk two blocks down and up at your phone charger
I. C.
Amazing! Bakery is a MUST (sesame bun with red bean paste), Happy Lemon has the best bubble tea and EL&N is amazing too!
Many adult shops just outside as this technically touches SoHo. What an immersive Asian experience!
B. B.
Cliche version of “Chinatown” plenty of restaurants to choose from, most of them more Cantonese style but their are other Asian restaurants there. You can find some Chinese street food and bubble tea. Hidden gems are the Asian supermarkets with treats from all across Asia. Well worth a visit if you want something nice to eat
S. A.
Like always, beautifully decorated with a fantastic food!
J. H.
This Chinatown doesn’t disappoint! Although smaller than ones in New York or San Francisco, the Chinatown in London still gives me a sense of home. There are many sights, smells, sounds that are familiar which brings a smile. You have a solid selection of dim sum locations, grocery, bakery, and restaurants in the area. Situated fairly close to major tourist spots, this area is a great spot to grab a cheap lunch or dinner.
N. E.
There are various places to get good eats and fun desserts! There are pretty lanterns and flowers hanging above the streets. It is quite busy in the evening and most of the places open at 12pm.
E. K.
First-timer . Loved the whole vibe. Cute small shops everywhere, even sat down and had a huge lunch.everything was great. Lovely colours ❤️❤️
A.
Very busy. Very pretty lanterns cant miss it. Lots to eat. You can tell the popular places as they have the longest queues. Gets crowded at peak times would avoid if you dont like congestion. Go out of holidays on a typical work/ school/ weekday might be less crowded.
D. C.
Really is worth a visit, if not to eat or shop just to walk around and take in the atmosphere and take lots of photos.
A. M.
Colorful place, full of restaurants and some shops.
Can't comment on the food as I was only interested to buy something from the market.
Not too crowded, but I visited on a Thursday.
D. A.
Fantastic energy and even nicer in the evening! The best is Chinese New Year, which is at the end of January and the beginning of February.
M. J.
It has such a lovely feel in Chinatown especially during the new year celebration. I love the Hussle and bustle of here.
V. P.
Definitely getting back to the pre-Covid buzz! Although, that might be helped by all the new outdoor seating, which limits the walking space....but still a great place to pop in for dim sum or matcha chiffon cake!
J. F.
Couple of good supermarkets in this area with a everything you could want to make Chinese food. Decent prices and friendly staff.
Not sure on eating here as it's been a while. The queues for bubble tea can be long.
There is a real energy in the area and it's good for locals and tourists alike.
T. C.
Fabulous cathedral with tomb of St Peters and magnificent sculptures. A must visit to Rome.
C. R.
I went back to Far East restaurant yesterday to have lunch. Finally, I remembered to take those dishes I had. As usual, the server was very helpful which was great. As I have to be quick for my work lunchtime. Service was quick too. Thanks you very much for the service ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍❤
B.
This place is absolutely perfect if you want to wonder around for a while and admire Chinese culture in the heart of London, even though the parking is slightly overpriced, its still relatively cheap considering its location. You will be spoilt for choice of food and drinks and you will need it after the sheer amount of walking you will be doing.
I. A.
Great places to eat in close proximity. Now that they were allowed to take over the street with tables under rain covers - it is trully amazing, even in the rain like today. Excellent selection of Chinese cuisines, anything from marinated jellyfish to real exotics. Plenty of bars, herbal shops, bubbletea places, cafes, massage venues. Dance clubs nearby, perfect! Lots of couples and families - amazing for people watching.
M. T.
If you're looking for something to eat, then you'll be spoilt for choice here. Walked round twice before going to an all you can eat buffet for £11/person, and wasn't disappointed! Food was tasty, and the place was busy, so the buffet was constantly being refilled. Chinatown is vibrant place, buzzing with life.
J. G.
Chinatown is always good, even if you just walk through on your way to other ares of the west end. Recently the area was full of life because of the Chinese new year, it was well decorated, and it was nice to see the area vibrant again after covid.
D. M.
Wonderful food, lots of choice and a buzzy atmosphere!! Get there before 3am and you'll have a great time! As long as you're looking for great food and a late drink it will tick all your boxes... enjoy!!
M. A. (. ا.
Nice place to visit and eat real Asian food. Don't miss the pecking duck .
M. R.
Chinatown is a great night out, would be more inclined to go on a friday or Sunday evening as Saturday's are very busy.
N. M.
Some great places to eat, if you're looking for Chinese food or bakeries. Would recommend to visit, there are many restaurants that have fantastic food. Also lots of shops and supermarkets if you're looking for that! We had a lovely night out and tried some fantastic food!
K. A.
The place is beautiful and I love the atmosphere, but for some reason, every time I go, I haven't just been able to enjoy my experience.
Once I caught a pickpocketers hand in my pocket grabbing my phone, other times the restaurants were closed by the time I've finished sightseeing, so there aren't many night options, every time I HAVE dined in this area the staff have been rude (either rushing and asking 10 times if we're ready to order) or not accepting card.
I still keep going back because I love to walk through and visit the shops. But sadly, I've always been let down by one thing or another, especially when showing this place to visitors.
E. M.
More recently than ever you will find that Londons Chinatown has attracted many people from different backgrounds as people from all over come to experience the delicious Asian food and drink available here. I would recommend grabbing a few friends and doing a short food crawl sampling different foods from different places as we did, you won't regret the experience. Definitely worth a visit.
A. K.
A very nice place to visit in london. Some great options for food. I would suggest eating at some of the more local places rather than the more expensive restaurants for a more authentic taste. I would also suggest coming in the evening to see the lanterns light up the streets of China town. Quite a view and not to be missed!
Helpful advice: Take some cash with you, there is only one HSBC ATM which is out of cash most days, or has massive queues. Some places only take cash.
m. b.
Wonderful area in the Centre of London between Soho and Leicester Square. Excellent Chinese Restaurants, Grocery stores, Barbers, Street food 😋 and even Massage Parlours true to its proximity to the Red Light district. Great for stocking up with Kimchi or Lychee and similar. London Cinema district right next to it provides ample opportunity to continue the stroll into an all day experience.
G. “. J.
Its ok..lots of cheap eats..ie buffet for less than £10..but quality is poor..nice place to explore if you are asian as you can find most of your home products in this area
O. W.
Walked around the area quite a few times now, and haven't really had a negative time. Its worth going into the bakery as Pandan rolls are the best. Many of the markets have hidden gem items for sale that are really worth the buy.
Go to find a new food or experience its definitely worth it!
S. 7.
Great traditional Chinese experience and great to see all of the cultural shops and yummy food to try🙂
V. V.
Best experience ever. Try to visit during late evening. The foods and the shops are literally will make you feel like you are in the China.
Freshly made cake ,savouries ,buns, chineese & Thai restaurants are the best.
N. P.
Fantastic atmosphere, delicious food and lots of tourists! Took my daughter for dinner out and had a really good, reasonably-priced meal (£40 for two including drinks and starters). Definitely a must-see in London!
J.
Loved it, didn't eat here but so vibrantly decorated great atmosphere
T. D.
Still an Amazing place to visit especially for the first timer.
W. N.
I still love coming to China town for the smells and seeing the ornate decoration. Recommend if you want to have a main meal, plenty to chose from! 😀
A. D.
Very nice area full of restaurants.
The lantern decorations looked beautiful really.
J. B.
A great place to eat Asian cuisine. Lots and different delicious foods.
L. a. L. o. a. M.
Fantastic choice of restaurants serving lovely food ...lively place....in the heart of the west End....family friendly near the theatres as well
N. L.
Great eats to fit every budget. Used to be aimed at Cantonese expats with a Sunday school, couple of gambling dens and had a small Chinese cinema. Those were the days. Now more directed to tourism with a lively night life with music from buskers. Been very lively since the restaurants can serve outside. Great place to take the kids since it will open up their senses. Lots of different smells sounds and views.
Z. E.
Amazing, Chinatown NEVER closes, whether it's Xmas, or a global pandemic (potentially from China 👀) , it's the real place that never sleeps.
Whatever food you want you can get - as long as it's pan-asian. My only criticism would be that the Korean road needs to be bigger, asides from that however, Chinatown always provides.
A.
Has a good feel about it, especially at this time when they have recently been celebrating their New Year (1st Feb.)
A. S.
Lots to see. Shops, services and food.
A historic part of London's vibrant and diverse culture
J. S. (. S.
Fun place with a lot of nice food. Recommended going if you are going to London for the first time
陈.
A good place to immerse yourself in the Chinese/Oriental food and culture! Loads of restaurants, shops and bars! But too many people so it's very crowded! And the most important thing is always keep an eye on your belongings, especiay your wallet and phone!! Thief exists here all the time and no CCTV available!!
T. (.
Chinatown is Chinatown everywhere it is! I can fell the atmosphere of China and the amazing food of restaurants they have!
M. S.
Lovely area, super kind people and massive variety of tastes
L. S.
Very unique and always good to visit. There is lots of Chinese restaurants which we tried here, lots of them are good. Lots of bubble tea shops and bakers. The supermarket experience here is difficult and worse to go to some of them.
j. g.
Great atmosphere, lots of chinese shops and restaurants to see.
o.
You ever get the chance to visit this spot. Well don't second guess it. All the food spots plus amazing nightlife. My favorite spot to try out food wise was golden dragon there dim sum was so good. For drinks I went to O'Neil's if you ever visit out here let me know if you have any new spots to try out. Y'all have a good one and catch ya later 🤙🏼. Interesting exciting place, many asian shops and the choice is great, very central location. Can get a bit busy.
H. S.
I just loved everything about this little place . Literally bursting with little shops and restraunts. So many things to try !
C. k.
Lovely atmosphere walking through, we stopped to buy fortune cookies and bubble tea.
H. T. D. A.
What's not to like about Chinatown on a Saturday night when the Hare Krishna's are passing through. Try to be there on a Saturday night between the hours of 7:30pm and 8:15pm.
K. W.
Ever best foods in London. Amazing bubble tea is here.
L. I.
Nice stroll around Chinatown in London with family and friends. Buzzing place, lots of nice food and some performances along the way. We went for vietnamese food which was outstanding! 5*
A. H.
Really enjoyed China town. So many food places to explore. Had a great meal. 👍
W. B.
Not our first time visit! Nice place!
E. C.
Really beautiful place. Didn't eat or go into any of the shops as it was so busy
J. D. (. D.
What a place! Great vibe, the food was amazing a great buzz around the whole town. Me and my family loved it. We will definitely be going back to explore some more next time we are in town.
F. S.
This was really cool. We got some awesome treats in the little Stores and the smells around the place are amazing. We didn't get a chance to eat at a restaurant as it was literally packed, which is a regret, however the experience was worth a 10 minute walking detour from the main Sightseeing Bus routes, not far from Leicester Square.
I. A.
Chinatown is one of the good places to visit in London you can enjoy oi the live the food
A. ..
Not much to do but eat. Cultural place with nice docerations.
J. F.
Always a nice bustle, plenty of shops for authentic Asian produce and a good selection of restaurants, some more authentic than others but an unrewarding place to visit. Parking expensive in the nearby multi storey car park though.
H. C.
Amazing place, lots to eat and drink, love this place!
C. B.
Authentic Chinese culture. Lots of fantastic restaurants and some great bars thrown in. Always a brilliant atmosphere and full of vibrance and colour.
R. N. B.
China town is a lively and vibrant place to visit in West End especially during the night. If you're into Chinese food, this place won't disappoint as it has a vast choice of authentic Chinese restaurants that will suit your budget. From eat-all-you-can type to luxurious dining options -- they have it.
There are places around the area that smelled offensive and that of human urine. That was very disgusting and felt really dirty.
Also, the area has so many visitors so don't forget to wear your mask for your safety and mind your belongings all the time because there were posters that says that thieves thrive around the area.
PS. It's just a short five minute walk from Picadilly Circus. So you can definitely tick it off your bucket list.
K. W.
If you love Chinese food definitely recommend! Not much else there though
D. R.
Very vibrant place to visit although not a big town it’s more like two or three streets.
The place can be messy with pallets and stuff. But there are lots of eating places
Cheers

Great cultural experience. It's very authentic, original and very good example of Chinese/Asian way of living. All sort of food and drink can be found here for takeaway or dine-in. Different toys, gifts, presents, craft's, gadget's are being sold too. It's recommended both for tourists and local people. I think everyone should try and experience it at least once in their life.
S. B.
I LOVE Chinatown! There's such a vibrant atmosphere and there's always so much going on. The smell off the dim sum and duck is amazing and makes my mouth water just thinking about it 😋 We even saw a movie being filmed whilst walking through the streets.
Chinatown is always on my list of places to go when I visit London or any major city that has one!
E. B.
This place was magical and the food absolutely glorious! We ate a lot and walked around a lot. There was so much to see and so so so MANY places to eat! It was amazing.
S. W.
Loving coming here, as it's chinese new year on the 1st febuary, year of the water tiger, and my birthsign.

You really are taken to another place and time when you pass here ☺️ It's amazing! Apart from the amazing restaurants, I recommend people also try some of the street food too!
I loved the little fish cakes filled with custard, as well as the bubbletea! Definately something you shouldn't miss!
C. P.
To much fun. Yummy dim sum. Did deal on timeout for £22.
V. V.
Best Place to explore
Chinese Cuisines at reasonable level 🤘🏻
Would recommend to carry cash rather than Card.
Must Visit place in Soho
N. V.
Great family time. 👌 I recommend you to visit this place.
k. p.
I recently visited Chinatown.I must say it’s really amazing experience.we can explore different types of Chinese dishes there.
K. S.
Place is crowded these days. If you are fancy for Chinese food, don't hesitate to visit, there are more options. You can buy Chinese grocery from there
j. a.
Great if your looking to try a few new foods. Be prepared to queue for a few of the better places.
l. s.
One of my favourite places in London. So many interesting places to check out and try
s. s.
If you like Chinese food you can find anything you like. I like the atmosphere and walk there. It's not like something incredible but if you are a tourist it is a must to go, if you live in London it's nice to walk and have some dinner sometime.
Talking about restaurants....mmmm the food is great but the service is very low level.... maybe because of the covid time, as many workers left London, btw for any reason the service is not that good.
F. H.
Usually go here on bank holidays. Dirty Boba drink (speciality tea) from one of the Chinese restaurants is really nice. 4 star because loads of shops closed on bank holidays, whilst others open and others did not update Google opening hours.
j. s.
Great shops. Great food. Liked it.
#.
Good and decently priced food, everyone is so friendly! Can get every crowded at times!
K. V.
It's changed a lot since the last time we been there. The prices gone up and the quality of food is the same... somewhat okay.
T. R.
So pretty and first time in the UK I ever have seen restaurant workers outside encouraging guests to dine at their establishments. Felt really comfortable, nice atmosphere and generally a safe vibe.
C. G.
A nice and friendly Chinatown. Lots of Chinese supermarkets and restaurants. There area has improved since Covid with lots of outdoor seating. There are usually lanterns up around Chinese New Year time. If you’re unsure what to eat in the restaurants then look out for the modestly priced all you can eat buffets - quality isn’t that great but you get to try lots of things.
R. S.
The eating experience is great around here. Go for a dim sum to fill you up or just desserts, soft bread and bubble teas!
Z. L. (.
Very happy to see Chinatown in London. Lots of Chinese restaurants for you to choose
M. M.
My overall grade for Chinatown in London is: A
If you've seen some other reviews of mine, you'll notice that I can't seem to bypass a trip to a cities Chinatown. I love immersing myself in one's culture and seeing what they like to eat.
Chinatown London is bigger than I thought. Cleaner than I expected (all of London is). More restaurants than I imagined. A great place to go for a walk and to get a snack or something sweet.
There are other ethnic neighborhoods in big cities of course, but Chinatown has a nice familiarity about them.
I will review the restaurant we ate at shortly, but Chinatown as a whole is a great place to people watch, snack, eat some great food, visit some bakeries, etc.
It's centrally located to London as well, so super easy to get to.
A. S.
A great atmosphere. Lots of restaurents selling chinese food. The market shops selling traditional chinese grocery food and snacks are great to visit. You can pick up lots of food that you cant get mainstream. There are sometimes street entertainers. Check out the hidden bars too.
ア.
I always go to China town since there are many interesting places to visit here. It's usually rather busy, some of the Chinese restaurants aren't great and are extremely overpriced! However there are a few restaurants that are really nice :D All the bubble tea places here are great and there are many Asian stores to visit 👍
У. Г.
Great place with nice decorations and lots of eating places
K. G.
A great place to walk through so many great restaurants
C. D.
Only been to a few places here, but it's a nice place to visit and get out of the London grind and standard greyness of it all. Some lovely food places too.
F. K. I.
Really nice place, great place to get a different vibe from all the traditional London city centre vibes.
It has wide range of various oriental food stalls and food restaurants, I recommend you check the reviews before you chose any of them, but they should all be pretty decent. It does get busy, so keep that in mind
J. G.
Really nice place not expensive at all
E. P.
Was so good to be back to China Town after so may restrictions. Love being there remind me of back home.
O. O.
I love China town so much! Me and my partner come here a lot and we never get tired of it. The atmosphere is amazing and the smells of the food makes my mouth water. I love being here and exploring all the different shops and trying new foods... they’re all to die for!
If you’re considering coming to China town... GO!
I. N.
My go to Dumpling place! Tastes the same as their flagship in Taipei 101 and I used to go to their outlets in Shanghai and Singapore.
C. G.
I love the atmosphere of Gerard Street which is lively no matter which time you visit. You cannot go wrong in eating here with probably the best Chinese cuisine outside China itself although Sino American cuisine may beat it. The sphere is also enhanced by the HSBC Bank with its all Chinese staff. My favourite Jen's Dumplings lies just outside the main Chinatown but it is well wort a visit.
C. S.
Interesting place, lots of restaurants and busy most of the time. We had a good fun there on Chinese new year.
L. P.
This place is a whole another vibe.. Food, colour, people, everything.
Best time to visit on a day here is evening <3
U. M.
Reminded me of NYC, wonderful and lit up. So many places to eat. It was amazing to feel like I was home while in London
J. M.
Always an excellent place to take your family or friends to
T. T.
Love the decor of there a vibrant place had a lovely meal sit down meal there. Also a all you can eat buffet one but felt wanted you in and out a fast turn over of people eating but still nice.
S.
Nice shops and cool food areas but often filled with annoying 'indie' kids
V. D.
Possibly one of the best places to visit in central London, aesthetic food shops and restaurants ranging from various South East Asian cuisines. Notorious for many bubble tea stores. Some of the most famous landmarks nearby too. Definitely give it a visit!!!
W. P.
Lots of places to eat, buy gifts & Souvenirs, Clothing and more. Vibrant colours and so many things to try from traditional to modern. Came here many times before and definitely will be coming again.
C. S.
Amazing place and culture there, food is fantastic and so many places to chose from alot is 24 hours so anytime is good for soho China Town. I won't go to London with out visiting and eating here it an amazing place for sure well worth the visit and highly recommended the journey to get there
B.
AMAZING!! <3 love the restaurant we went too. Food was phenomenal!! restaurant owners and staff were super sweet and helpful!!
A. E.
A great place to visit in the heart of London. There are many authentic asian shops around the area where you can find loads of great products. The products are all high quality and priced decently depending on which shops you visit. There are also great restaurants around which serve all types of cuisine. There are a few great gems there so if you're in the area, stop by and take a stroll down through Chinatown London!
Ł. M.
One of the best China towns in the world.
A. H. (.
Chinatown is always such a incredible vibe!
Food is indisputable, people are always cheerful and entertainment is always to be found!

Gold mine Chinatown
OMG dimsum here was amazing came hot to the table and was very delicious the three meat combination was spectacular crispy pork belly duck and char Sui pork you must go will not disappoint
Y. A.
I love china town. If you want a traditional tour in London with amazing traditional Chinese food and beverage, this is the place to be in.
A. B.
I have visited Chinatown for over 30 years now and I love the whole vibe of it up there with a plethora of Chinese restaurants Chinese patisseries and a peppering of Chinese supermarkets . I recommend New Loon Fung that is a great Oriental supermarket located at 42-44 Gerard’s Road (this is the main pedestrianised street at the centre of Chinatown) and this has a Chinese restaurant above the supermarket that offers very fair prices and good quality Chinese food - I have left a separate review for this Chinese restaurant. If you’ve never been to Chinatown before I highly recommend it as it is well located close to Leicester Square tube and can be walked to in less than 10 minutes from Charing Cross station. It is also very close to Charing Cross Road and Tottenham Court road with many big brand outlets and is also easily accessible to Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square.
A. M.
It was amazing, my first time visiting and I'd definitely like to go back!
C. A.
Great place
Lots of history
Lots of places to eat
W.
Had a fab meal here and the atmosphere is fab
G. M.
If you are up for a walk Chinatown London never disappoint... You can now have a meal sitting outside 😉... If the weather allows you can walk around enjoying a drink or some street food , plenty to choose from.
I recommended to you all 😊✌️ ....just remember to be safe and wear a mask
R.
The atmosphere and the food are amazing in Chinatown. Plenty of Chinese convenience stores for you to choose from if you want something specific.
c. j.
I always enjoy a trip down to China Town. Very crowded at the moment, particularly in the evenings. Good to see a large proportion of people are wearing masks outside in the street. Great to see places open. The huddle and bustle of it was missed from lockdown.
J. T.
Went on a Sunday after not visiting for over a year, so busy!! Love the vibe, although with the tables outside the street feels a bit narrow 😅
Y. P.
A must go-to place when visiting around the area. Lots of options for food, drinks and desserts, perfect for any time of the day and night. Asides from that, there are plenty of markets within the vicinity, and if you're not planning to spend any money there, you can just have a casual stroll around the area enjoying the cultural structures put up around the area.
M. M.
I loveee it so cute
C. S. M.
Best Chinese food is in Chinatown! This is a place full of live, sound and colours! There’s always something happening.
Lots of different Chinese food restaurants/ options, I will not recommend a specific one because I always try to vary and until now I was never disappointed on the taste and food quality!
I love dumplings 🥟 so every chance I get I will go to Chinatown!
There are plenty of good Chinese food restaurants in London.. but the food taste can’t be compared, even the duck is absolutely delicious (and I don’t like duck).
The fun and colour and decoration of the street is beautiful. Is not as big as NY Chinatown, but Is not the size that matters, so I recommend the visit .
The restaurants are not too expensive.
6 dumplings (veggies, duck, prawn) 2 main ditches drinks and coffee.
£23 per person.
J. E. A. G.
Some of the dishes came to the table burnt. I like this restaurant but the last time I felt it's quality decreased. I Suggest trying the duck, is really good.
M. R.
Really good place to take photos and I love all the little restaurants and bakery’s
E. R.
An authentic place fell like a different country with lots of tipical restaurants
J. J.
Amazing place in the heart of the west end. Lots of restaurants that has queues outside. Looks like a licence to print money. The area is vibrant and full of atmosphere and just like it's neighbor Soho has a kind of fiesta feel to it, like an anticipation that some carnival was about to appear. Felt quite safe and secure too as everywhere is pedestrianized. Although I would add that you need to keep an eye open for the occasional itinerant cycle rider trying to navigate a very busy walkway. Non that I saw seemed particularly concerned for people's saftey.
Other than that a great place to spend some time.
h. c.
Love Chinatown it's vibrant and always busy, there is something here for everyone young and old. It's one of my favourite spots in London
T. k.
Great atmosphere feels authentic wish we had time to stop for food.
S. B.
I went there on the last night of 3 day London tour with my parents and brother. Having walked and travelled all day, visiting other places, we were too exhausted to go somewhere else. My brother insisted we had to go visit Regent Street and China town. It was worth it. The vibe is impossible to miss. It felt like a different world situated in london. At a time when most people are about to go to bed, China town was packed with people. The lights, the crowds, the giggles and clinking of cutlery on plates as people on both sides of the street had their dinners, the fashion and ofcourse street artists. It was wonderful. We had our dinner taken away from a Chinese buffet restaurant with "take away all you can fit in a box for 7 pounds" we took 3 boxes and fit half of the dishes among 20 or so. It was more than enough for 4 of us. Also I'm glad i have grown a taste for authentic Chinese food.
M. G.
Wow food was amazing see u soon at night would be better
E. K.
It's Chinatown! Get some delicious Dim Sum, Bao buns, Hot Pot or Sushi! This is a must see and must taste spot for every tourist and local who wants to go on a culinary adventures!
D.
Love Chinatown! Always a good idea to visit here for a good meal or a quick bite!
O. A.
I totally enjoyed walking through the China town/Covent Garden stretch though it was a wet and rainy day.
Beautifully lit and movement was free!
Massive carpark available and if you are looking for great Chinese food then you are in the right place.
Quite a few places were shut because of COVID but you can still get around quite well with loads of other places open.
I will love to visit again and covent garden square as always is the boom 💝💝💝
G. C.
I love China town amazing food amazing food amazing food. It can be a very crowded place recommend going on weekdays if you can.
F.
I'm sure asians and people who like asian food love it, but I had a bad experience with a bakery, which I visited (The food wasn't great and the service was non existing).
Apart from that it was fine.
A. M.
Avoid on a Saturday night altogether.. so crowded and very easy for pickpockets (common around that area) very pretty though . Nice bakeries !
l. m.
Great place for photos and amazing food
S. H.
Great atmosphere and lots of food choices. Always busy but one of the best spots in London.
L. J.
Chinese New Year in London have great street decoration, they have street acts and all the Chinese restaurants and stores was open with friendly, welcoming and polite staff inviting people to have a food or drink. Was amazing experience to see the Chinese traditional festivities. Dragons blessing all the shops and eating letters. Highly recommend to visit this place in the Chinese New Year and not only.
Z. H.
Typical China Town of big city, lots of restaurants competing for your ££€€$$, supermarkets selling Asian specialty. Loved the vibe.
C. M.
This is my first trip to Chinatown in London, we visited due to being in the area. It was nice to visit, some parts were a bit run down and felt scruffy but other parts were much nicer.
Whilst we didn't eat here there were plenty of takeaways and restaurants and I'd probably go back another time for a meal as the choices looked great.
M. O.
This place is buzzing the most I have ever seen when living In London! Loads of new restaurant in a China town, loads of visitors and even more streets are traditionally decorated. Beautiful! Worth visiting and tasting some Chinese pastries from their bakery shops! The prices are low and pastries melting in the mouth!
E.
Nice atmosphere, not too busy nice wander in the run up to Christmas
G. C.
China Town it is busy like usual. And the lights the smell and the look all create an atmosphere that makes you to go back on and on .I enjoy having dinner with a cup of tea here.
A. S.
Must visit when you in London, lovely rich in culture place
B. T.
So many options for food and I come here almost every week. Definitely recommend Joy King Lau for dimsum, Four seasons for their roast duck, Hefaure for boba tea and Bun House for baos!! Also Loong Fung as an Asian supermarket.
s. H.
lovely food, great atmosphere friendly staff. Be warned it gets very busy so pre booking recommended.
D. Y.
Great Vibe, the music and fun. It was Chinese New Year week so livelier and brighter perhaps than some days.
C. C.
It is what it is, tacky and full of tourists, and far too many rude staff in the restaurants. Much better Chinese food and good service can be found elsewhere.
h. a.
Great place - although hugely overcrowded (famous tourist place I guess)
S. G.
It is only really a couple.of streets... but it is jam packed with great restaurants, takeaways, shops and a couple of bars.
As a photography enthusiast I head here pretty much everytime I'm in the big smoke. Always something to see, whether it's the people, Chinese New year, the back alleys and tucked away shops or just the general colours and vibe of the businesses there.
If you're in London... go there. You won't be disappointed.
S. K.
China Town was lovely. Mamason is definitely worth a visit. Bilog with Ube ice cream is a must. Absolutely divine. Yum 😋
J. M. P.
London’s Chinatown is located in the heart of the West End, in the middle of theatre land and next to Soho. It is one of the oldest established Chinese communities in the UK, made up of several pedestrianised roads with dozens of restaurants and food shops. It is fun to amble around this area and soak up its lively festival atmosphere. Stop to eat either a take away snack or linger longer for a sit down meal.
O. W. (. S.
Absolutely magnificent, jumps you back in time... The food was so tasty speechless
M. H.
Great food, great restaurants.
It was strange seeing it empty during the pandemic.
L. H.
So many smells and different cultures and it was amazing. A little overload of the senses for my son
S. R.
Colourful, huge range of restaurants, and you feel the heart of Londons West End there. Lots of entertainment and not too expensive.
C. S.
great options for dim sum and all you need to create your own at home. Do not miss the bakeries :P
V. G.
Great place if you love Asian cuisine and you’re looking for Asian groceries too. Love the whole style and the vibe around it. Easy to get there and worth a visit even if you’re a local.
S.
Great place to go in general, lots of crowds and an overall nice atmosphere. If you plan on eating here, do try your hardest to find reviews on the various restaurants. If you walk in blindly due to being spoiled for choice, you're playing a lottery on If you'll enjoy your food or not. Other than that small gripe, it's pretty good.
C. D.
Super crowded at night, though not to a point it is not manageable. So many nice restaurants! The streets are nicely decorated and people lovely.
V. A.
Happened to be walking through. Lots of restaurants to choose from buffet style n sit down meals..I guess the busier ones r better ones...
L. S. T.
Best Chinese food experience in London
A. R.
Alive and bustling. We arrived as the place was getting ready for lunchtime. Friendly and welcoming. Plenty of choice for food. Eat in and takeaway. Lots of seating area, which was clean. Happy place
P. W.
Good place to go for dim sum at lunchtime - plenty of choice of restaurants. Unfortunately some of the takeaways only take cash
D. D.
Chinatown was so beautiful 😍😍. All the decorations were mesmerising. The restaurant staff were so polite and friendly. The food was amazing and delicious 😋 and it was very cheap from £6-7. I absolutely love chinatown and I would definitely recommend for you to go there and check it out. Another thing I would recommend is if you do go is to go and get a bubble tea they are so good and delicious and cost from £3-4 🤤.
S. C.
If you would like to have amazing food with affordable prices definitely go to China Town. Pictoresque streets with lot of bars and restaurants for everyone
T. J.
Lovely very cool, definitely would recommend going, so many cool restaurants and stuff to do there
S. F.
I find Chinatown an interesting district to stroll through. There's a good number of restaurants and bakeries. Popping into the shops and looking in windows is also a reason to visit.
S. K.
Wonderful decor and ambience. A must see attraction for any visit to london however an embarrassing distinct lack of sit down halal dining options with the exception of 1-2 fried takeaways
D. R.
A great place to visit whether it's to eat or just soak up the atmosphere... We were here on a Saturday and it was extremely busy, you would've needed a booking or lucky to get a table.
There is lots to see and explore and plenty of photo opportunities, try one of the little fish... Its fascinating watching the machine in the window making them
It's part of Londons cultural history and shouldn't be missed
j. s.
Nice to wander around. It can get busy.
J. P. L.
We love China Town, every time come to London got to come for meal here
M. M.
Absolutely an amazing atmosphere, and a really great vibe, enjoyed with my family and friends, will be back soon.
C. S.
We always get a Chinese crepe number 1 from the tiny kiosk and it is one of the best things I've ever eaten in London.
J. M.
Lots of lovely restaurants and nice coffee shops and chinese bakeries
J.
Easy parking, good food, busy at lunch but it calmed down in the early evening.
C. K.
It's caching town. Good food, semi good service.
A.
The most awsome food and service anywhere in Central London... nothing else compares...
D. D.
Visiting London in 20th time....always visiting Chinatown and dining there....great authentic food, authentic supermarket with some spicy stuff....always good....great tapioca tea...
b. p. 2.
Every time I am in the area, I cannot resist going into Chinatown to have a wander around. There are a range of restaurants, supermarkets and stores in the area which serve a range of cuisines. I would recommend tourists to visit even just to soak up the atmosphere.
b. j.
Great choice of restaurants to suit all budgets and some good all you can eat joints too. Very local to Leicester Square and always very nicely decorated!
A. R.
Most interesting place in London in my opinion. Amazing food, interesting stores, and always a festive atmosphere. If you're in London, you have to drop by.
D. K.
Always nice to have a walk through Chinatown. More and more invaded by tourist, but it’s still able to keep its atmosphere. Quite hard to decide in which restaurant go to eat as there are many and sometimes one can end up making the wrong decision.
A. H.
An incredible area to spend time and dine in or outside at some fantastic restaurants.
C. R.
Very nice festive place with lots of great restaurants
F. J.
Lots of fun, though some food outlets really £££ and a bit underwhelming for the price paid. Outdoor seating recommended for more extra atmosphere. Shop around, check the menu, check for recommendations and check the prices before you order.
D. N.
Always a great time in china town. All the restaurants are super friendly and really nice quality food. Good day out.
G. G.
That is a good place to go, lot of food to choose from. I finally got the cheese cake from the bakery, if you don't like the strong cheese flavour that is for you.
S. A.
I would only recommend visiting chinatown during festival periods such as Chinese new year as the streets will be filled with festivities. I simply just passed through on a day trip but you can still tell that you are in china town as some of the street signs were in Chinese. The gates we quite beautiful so its definitely worth getting a few snaps of that. I would not recommend eating in restaurants there if you have dietary requirements, I only found 1 halal restaurant (rasa sayang - Malaysian), and very few restaurants served full vegetarian dishes. Overall, it would be a good experience for someone who wishes to go to china, especially around festival time when it's much more exiting. Even if you are in the area, I would recommend passing through and just experiencing that unique atmosphere that Chinatown offers.
S. L.
I used to go to Chinatown a lot; the buffet style meals attracted me, they are less good value now.
The Chinese supermarkets have plenty in them for those who like to cook. Again I've become disappointed: condiments, sauces and vegetables are there. Before I would be able to buy several varieties of loose tea: now it's all higher priced tea bags.
It is interesting to walk around though.
A. N.
It was too crowded when we reached there. Didn't get enough time to explore completely. But as far as we saw, it's just amazing. So many restaurants, souvenir shops and other shops selling Chinese local products. It is a must visit place in London.
D. M.
I am in love with Eltham great Tudor Barn pub and park and many cosy places to shop as well as high street I wonder why not so many moved to this neighborhood yet ! It's just few train stops aways to west end and city (20/30 Min)
M. A.
Great place to have all the Chinese food
G. G.
ONE OF THE BEST CHINATOWNS . NOT ALL RESTAURANTS ARE GOOD AND I MISS SOME OF THE GROCERIES THAT THEY USED TO SELL HERE AND CHINESE MEDICINES WHICH ARE NOW HIDDEN AWAY , BUT THE ATMOSPHERE IS STILL GREAT
S. B.
Lots of restaurants and Chinese food stores.
T. H.
Great place to eat and walk around, but gets very overcrowded in the evenings so go early otherwise long queues in restaurants. Had some lovely Dim Sum on Lisle Street.
D. H.
Great Food. Can get a little busy at Peak times. Great location
T. M.
Just took a stroll it was nice
J. M.
It's like entering a different world. The food and markets give you the feeling that you're in China. Most restaurants had only Chinese writing on the menu. The supermarkets had everything you can imagine from Chinese to Korean and Japanese products. When you enter or leave China Town there are huge portals in red which look really amazing. I you want to leave London for a minute and dive into a different culture then come here .
D. B.
It was packed and amazing!
Ate at local restaurant and had a great meal at a table outside. Great fun and we will go again the next time we are in London.
Just watch out for a 12.5% surcharge on all food and drink!
S. J.
It is very colourful, great array of restaurants and bakeries. Handy for the theatres and Leicester Square, good range of prices too.
S. D.
Nice overhead decorations. Some very cheap Chinese buffets where you helped yourself but looked crowded. Sit down places of varying prices - cheapest set menu seen was £12 but ranged to pretty expensive.
r. j. r.
Fabulous place. Best seen at night. Shops
and restaurants radiating colour, and all
things tasty. Glistening ducks - shiny veg.
It so makes you want to stop and eat. Easy
access.
M. T.
Eclectic and buzzing. A must-do in London. Good, authentic food to be found everywhere.
B. C.
Good Chinatown vibes. Lots of Chinese restos and food joints in the vicinity. You got your noodles, rice, dimsum shops. Bubble tea shops. Asian groceries where you'll find your favorite Asian ingredients and spices. If you're lucky you might catch a glimpse of them good ol' triads conducting themselves.
M. M.
Must see if you are in London. Great place too eat or drink.
N. H.
Very interesting place to visit in centre London. Food is not the best, but I still wish to visit. I
A. J. (.
Crowded and very touristy. Some of the supermarkets there are worth a visit if you're looking at trying out some thing new. Think you have to know which restaurants are worth visiting and which are just there to party tourists from their money.
S. T.
If you want flow of your day too change and if you wanna change of your day go down there. Doesn't matter which Rd you walk down you will enjoy. Bakery to restaurant. Welcoming community.
The council need to do more cleaning though
F. d. l. R.
Great place to find very interesting types of food! Mamasons is a shout, try the Ube icecream. Just lots of wonderful and weird types of food here. Although, the quality of food in some restaurant is just not to the level they should be especially for the asking price. There are also some stores that have steps at the front and therefore is not very accommodating to wheelhchair or buggy users. This area can get crowded at Peak times.
m. p.
Loads of Chinse restaurants,colorfull place!!!
V. M.
Perfect place for Chinese New Year!
P. T.
Great vibe and created a good memory forever ✨
c. B.
Great place to eat, so many restaurants, return visit needed. 😜
A. D. (.
I was baffled at seeing cars being allowed to drive through the area, and watching people walk around, heavy footed with reckless abandon. It took me three hours to realise that this district is in fact NOT made of porcelain china, but is just an east asian theme. Food was good.
R. S.
The cleanest Chinatown I've visited between NYC, SFO, and Hawaii. Wish there were more grocery stores but otherwise definitely legit experience!!!
H. M.
So beautiful and so many amazing food options. I can’t wait to come back and try them all!
B. H.
Chinatown is a very vibrant part of London. It has amazing range of restaurants. It can do with bit of tidying up though....
P. H. L. H.
Good food and the grocery stires sell a great variety of oruental stuffs, even more than an Oriental city in the eastern part of the world. Only drawback is some shops only accept cash, no contactkess card payment. If the customer like me dies mot carty cash around, then will have to draw from the ATM and there will be a surcharge of a few £.
M. K. K.
Good food but taste is not really suitable for fast food lovers!
G. A.
Located just off Piccadilly Circus, a great selection of Chinese and Asian restaurants and supermarkets, lots of friendly and helpful staff. ( If you have found this review helpful or enjoyed any of the photos please click Like)

if you like Chinese this is the place to be feels like your in China must have at least 20 restaurants full of everything Chinese nom nom

My favourite place of London. The supermarkets and patisseries shine. Can't wait to try their hotpot options next time I go.

Great buzz about the place.
Plenty to choose from on the food menu. U could spend a year here a never eat the same food.

What a lovely place! Chinatown London is a bustling area with lots of Chinese influence (as you'd expect). There is a great variety of food and the Chinese bakeries are amazing. There are also stores selling authentic and imported goods, for prices that aren't too unreasonable, especially considering it is located in the more central parts of London. It's a lovely and very lively place to visit however due to large crowds you may not be able to enjoy the place to its full potential, but I guess that makes it a more accurate representation of what China is actually supposed to be like. I would give it a 5 star rating, however some shopkeepers and vendors seem to be slightly aggressive or angry, which isn't a huge deal, but it always seems like they are in a hurry for you to buy something and get out of their store, so if you are easily offended or not used to this fast paced type of environment, I wouldn't recommend it. For everyone else it's a fantastic area with lots of great Chinese culture.
M. C.
Absolute vibes! Do visit and check out the fusion of Asian cultures
E. B.
Despite the high prices in some restaurants I liked the China town in London, people can say is just the same as every China town in cities around the world. But that's exactly what makes peculiar the China towns otherwise they would be just like a mall with name and fake China atmosphere, isn't it? Visit my instagram account for more photos @bravo.shots

I am a Taiwanese. Chinatown is a very famous place that most of the Europe countries has. There are a lot of Chinese restaurant and Chinese store in Chinatown. People from Asia like to gathering together when they are in foreign country. We would like to eat the food from our country. And we can also meet some people who are from the same country.
While I was in London, I went to Chinatown more than two times a week.

Love it here. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is buzzing.

Must visit if you love Chinese food. Place have not changed much in last few decades. We always enjoy walking around the area, buying some Chinese groceries and baking products like egg tarts and cocktail buns, yummy. For dimsim, try New Loon Fung which is on second floor of the grocery shop with same name. For simple but tasty dishes, try TPT, good value. For pricey live seafood like lobster and scallops, try Gold Mine. Bon Appetit!

Super busy area with lots of stores and restaurants to visit! There are loads of tasty bakeries and bubble tea shops I recommend!
For bakeries - I suggest visiting Chinatown Bakery as they host a large variety of breads with different flavours and fillings - my parents and I usually go to town with purchasing different breads to take home!!! It's just amazing!
A go-to bubble tea spot I like to visit is Yunique, it is not too busy in the morning, and they offer great brown sugar bubble tea. I do reccomend the mango smash with popping pearls if you're looking to trying to explore in fruit teas!
I usually don't visit the restaurants but Jin Li is a very popular destination to go to if you want to get some of the dine-in experience at Chinatown. Only visit if you're patient! As it can get busy during the evening, but a fairly reasonable time to visit would be in the afternoon, if you are looking to have lunch there.

Always the best food in Chinatown! Loads of different options, but have to try the crispy pork belly and BBQ pork! Or the roast duck with rice. Nice but busy atmosphere, always some entertainers beside the Chinatown gateband usually some very talented buskers. Love it!

Great to get back to London after the last couple of years, Chinatown was high on my list of where to go!
M. H.
Great food, great atmosphere. Visited Lido restaurant and had set meal for 2 £18.00 each. Very reasonably priced, clean and attentive staff.

Very interesting place

Good for an evening walk. Lots of Asian food to select from. Moreover a great place to spend time with family and take loads of pictures.

In every major city we have visited across the world we always head to Chinatown to see if they differ. This one in Gerrard Street is quite small in comparison to the likes of New York or Vancouver. However, there are plenty of decorations with bright colours and lanterns are lit at night. Lots of Chinese restaurants of course so you won't go hungry.
G. K.
Quite a vibrant food place. A lot of eat all you can places line up this area. Be aware of the tricycle ride guys. Pls ensure you rid the route and the money before hoping on.
This place has some Fab high end Chinese joints too. If Peking duck is favorite, try the few places I have featured in the photos.
Overall, always crowded and bustling!
D. R. (.
Nice place to visit so much food to choose from and shops . Wonderful place
K. L.
No trip to a major city is complete without visiting its Chinatown. The closest underground station is Leicester Square. From the station, head north-west to Gerrard Street.
London Chinatown is marked by a paifang which I guess, is how you know that you're in Chinatown. The area was a bit touristy and this is reflected by the prices.
Q. S. (.
We had some desserts from the bakery and everything we got was very good. Chinese pastries are top tier.
D. V.
Fantastic food and community. Second home for so many of the Chinese diaspora. Beautiful place for instagrammers
Golden dragon is our go to for dim sum. Young cheng for noodles with duck.
M. F.
Very quiet this Monday evening around China Town,
Had dinner at Golden Dragon
Lovely fresh food, a bit overpriced but good quality meals,
Love the London West End vibe on a Monday,
It makes you feel so relax!
M. W.
Little overrated, but you can find good places.
R.
Nice Chinatown. Been to better. You can get some quality dim sum and Chinese buns here. Tsujiri is here if you want some quality Japanese tea after your lunch.
S. K.
Really nice place .
Lots of places to eat.
T. L.
Due to the lockdown most shops were closed but it is still possible to get take away food from the few places that are open. Great place through with foods from over the world served as a take away and could be bought for approximately £7. Normally heaving with visitors. Lovely lock by the canal and one can walk in the direction of Little Venice past London zoo for a very nice canalside walk.
T.
Chinatown hosts many restaurants to suit every budget. There are a couple of souvenir shops and some Chinese food shops. You can even treat yourself to a massage or reflexology. There are bars in the vicinity also.
It is always busy and bustling with tourists. It celebrates Chinese New Year every year and can pull a massive crowd.
Chinatown has also undergone many transformations, from my understanding the true essence of Chinatown was born in the 60's.
It is a small place, adds a nice touch to visiting London, and one should definitely take a stroll through Gerrard Street and the adjoining ones.
I would appreciate a thumbs up if you found this review helpful. Thank you 😊
K. H.
China Town in London is posh and very beautiful and clean. Loved!
A. A.
Great little spot in London, endless list of spaces to eat and drink
e. h.
Very busy place because it's the best Cake shop in town. Try egg tarts and soya curds, the best in UK, not joking!
A. W.
This might’ve been my favorite place of my London trip! So many great places to eat and the decorations are so beautiful. If you’re going to London, definitely take a visit to China town!
J. B.
China town is a must experience when visiting london, sights and sounds are great. Best time to visit is during the chinese new year where there is even more life than normal. Watch oit for tourist traps in the restaurants and check reviews first, there are a lot of really good places to eat!
S. M.
An amazing place to enjoy a different culture. Many shops, vibrant, colorful decorations and tasty food. There is always a live performance happening. I would recommend it.
P. E.
Good meal albeit mixed shared starter a rip off @ £18 (small portion) and bottle of house wine expensive. London/tourist prices! Perhaps chose wrong one?
A. D.
Very nice place to visit.
Wanna go back again and again
F. d. C.
it Was very busy and a Saturday night, essential to book for a restaurant
M. J.
London's China Town must be on the list for any visitors. Packed with restaurants and tea shops, and a few regular shops as well. It is the streets themselves that are the main attraction though, strung with Chinese lanterns there are also tables to sit at in the central square. Spring bank holiday 2021, as I write this, there are few signs of the recent pandemic. Forget social distancing, it was packed. Lots on mask wearing, and queueing for twenty minutes or more for the popular Bubble Tea shops, and Waffle houses.
K. G.
What a vibe this place has!! Definitely need to check it out.
L. F.
Amazing place, they have a great variety of oriental food and some great bars to finish the night off on a high note
S. T.
Amazing place, you can try good food
G. B.
One of the most colorful place in London, really great how it perfectly fits the city without being a stand alone as most of the other cities. Food is great there, and you can find also some traditional one if you search good. Highly recommended.
A. P. (.
Amazing vibe to go for a walk during dark time. Lots of Chinese restaurants and shops. Defo love it
H. S.
Not crowded as usual, lack of tourists
J. C.
Always a great day out. Food is phenomenal 😋 Company always amazing. A must visit when in London Town.
苏.
It's nice! Me and my family go there every month for an evening out and there's so many shops. There's also lots of restaurants, one of which we go to often. Most of the prices are reasonable but some shops don't accept cards so be prepared! Finally, it's nicely decorated and my sister loves the characters that sometimes stand near the entrances/exits.
K.
I must admit Chinatown in London is one of my favourite places to visit just for a walk about but during lockdown it has been nice to pick up a small takeaway and walk around or sitting Leicester Square but also now Chinatown has opened up outside seating it is possible to eat outside which is added bonus. I Hope they keep the outside seating once the pandemic is over
I.
It's a totally new experience for me. I was also told to check the hygiene levels, which i would recommend to others as well before choosing anything.
D. G.
London Chinatown is a must do, great restaurants and supermarkets for Asian products. Bought some great bowls for our congee 🥣
W. D.
Very nice to see a China town in London, many restaurants there and just simply a nice place to hangout with friends
t. b.
expected more from ‘china town’ it was smaller then expected and the people are very much trying to get you in and dont let you just have a look at what they’re offering without being in your face. The food there is best that chinese food had to offer in London
A. W.
Great place to shop for Chinese food to cook and too eat. Can't wait to go again
c. j.

Amazing and colourful place to visit and eat.
M. P.
It is what it says on the tin! Chinatown is right in the heart of London and as expected there are a good range of Chinese restaurants, grocery stores, bakeries and bubble tea cafes. With Covid-19, restaurants that can have sitting outside, which is great when the weather is good.
K. “. M.
Love that area seemed to blend into SOHO had a lot of fun late evening lots of bars and places to eat, must get there before 8pm or you wont get in to most places or find a table bar stool etc. Lots of street musicians, lots of foot traffic be prepaired to walk a lot. Wear comfortable shoes. A lot of the clubs/restaurants had bouncers out front that would turn you away if you werent dressed properly.
i.
Pleas please try to go and visit this place with a empty stomach 😄😁 U need to 😋 coz the food is that much there
explore the Authentic Chinese cuisine in an affordable way 👌👌
i. m.
So busy but found somewhere to eat all good

Shopping and dining district. Special, because the Chinese theme is consequent. However, Not as much a 'must see' as many other attractions in London.

Chinatown, this is a place i have been going to for the past 30years. Great atmosphere. This place is always buzzing. There are so many things to do, places to see and end the day with a lovely meal in Chinatown. Even All three meals, so many restaurants, cake shops and cafe's. Fun area to visit and grab some dim sum or taiyaki. Relatively small area (a few streets) marked by Chinese lanterns. We ate at Wan Chai Corner which was very tasty!
m.
I had an amazing red bean paste bun from one of their bakeries, it was lovely!
M. W.
London's Chinatown is wonderful. Stop and get some dumplings. Doesn't even matter which restaurant.
G. F.
LOVE Chinatown, the best food, especially The Sun Luck for proper top end nosh, The Lido for the budget version on the other side of the street.
A. S.
A great atmosphere. Lots of restaurents selling chinese food. The market shops selling traditional chinese grocery food and snacks are great to visit. You can pick up lots of food that you cant get mainstream. There are sometimes street entertainers. Check out the hidden bars too.

This is London!
A great mixture of culture and civilizations living all together in harmony respecting one each other cultural and religious beliefs!
In the heart of the town next to beautiful Soho you suddenly feel that you are in Asia!
Lots of traditional Chinese restaurants with great food and shops with many Chinese products.
This is a must visit if you are in London!
M. j.
Love the atmosphere. And you’re spoilt for choice for something to eat. Highly recommended.
C. M.
Happy little me, got my Jimmy's paste from Sun Woo!
H. B.
Lovely traditional decorations, a surplus of brilliant chinese restaurants. What more could you want?
B. (.
Lots of food places to choose from. We went for a buffet, nothing spectacular, no ambience, but it filled our bellies for a cheap price.
M. U. A.
China town in London is good but it's a bit small compared to L. Plus there aren't much shopping options for traditional Chinese stuff. Mostly food outlets and Saloons and massage parlors. Not great many option. So if you are hungry and are around trafalgar square than surely the place to go. Don't expect any halal food though
C. S.
Very crowded but if what you want is Asian cuisine then this place is a must to go. Authentic Asian foods 😋 😍 😄
G. A.
Highly over rated when you consider the high volume of eateries you,d think the prices would be competitive......but they're not
