Reviews of Fam Green Grocery Market

Good selection of interesting supplies, I always pop in for something nice! You pay a little more than a big supermarket but as a small business owner myself, I live in reality — independent shops simply can’t be expected to charge a low as massive companies with thousands of branches that buy produce in gigantic quantities.
Overall, a great little store! There were some issues when they opened (staff were a little rude and there was £7 limited on card) but now all this is smoothed out, they seemed to have responded positively to feedback. I go here all the time now. Running a business is difficult and people make mistakes. Support your local through the highs and the lows. I hope they continue to improve on customer service — a smile goes a long way! :-)

I found the most glorious strawberry basket at "Fam Green Grocery Market" during one of my morning strolls around Hampstead Heath! Incredibly sweet, juicy and big strawberries, a dream! 🍓🍓. These will be perfect for morning breakfasts, desserts or energising smoothies! Now that I have discovered this gem place, I will be back frequently!

Overall good, expensive but based in Hampstead so understandable. I've been there many times and it's a lottery- sometimes top quality other days the veg seem old

I always pop by when I’m in the area. I love the smell of fresh veggies and fruits. Always great quality and variety. They also have quite a lot of grocery items and they fit a remarkable lot of stuff in there. The staff are always friendly. Only possible downside is that it has quite narrow isles so it can be difficult to navigate Covid wise sometimes.

A glorious local business with reasonable pricing and an incredible range of fruits, vegetables, pulses, tinned foods and deli foods. The staff are always kind and friendly, and I don’t know what other reviews are talking about when they mention extreme unfriendliness. The staff may not be wearing masks or creating huge queues outside their shop by only letting a few people in at a time, but if you don’t like it, then just don’t come in. It has been a godsend that such a reliable shop can stay open during this hard time, and supply great quality food for all.

I'm amazed by the poor reviews relating to this place. It has an exceptionally wide variety of high quality fruit and veg at really reasonable prices and the friendliness of the service seems fine to me. Its certainly the best green grocer I've ever visited. £7 minimum charge for credit card is, however a bit of a pain....

UPDATE: I recently gave them another go and they seem to have responded to the initial problems! See underneath my original review.
Just moved into the area and was really excited to see a local business, especially one with such a selection and non plastic packaging options. However after a few visits I have some reservations. The products available nearby in other shops are cheaper but I have come to expect this in local businesses - not the end of the world. The £7 spend limit on cards is steep, especially in reduced cash contact pandemic times. Additionally the staff seem to regularly not wear masks, making me feel very unsafe. I wish I could rate this shop higher as they align with a lot of my values. Perhaps they will sort out a few things and I’ll come back and change my review. For now I’m afraid to say - 2 stars.
UPDATE: I visited today (Sun 18th April) and I am very pleased to say they have improved a lot since my original review.
There is a one way system in place, all the staff were wearing masks and there were signs reminding people to distance. Brilliant.
Secondly they have REDUCED THE CARD LIMIT! It’s now £4 which is much more agreeable.
Now you get 4 stars. Well played Fam Green.

Great little supermarket with a wide range of fresh vegetables and other goods. Service is friendly and prices are good!

I felt very unsafe in this store on Sunday 25th April. Staff and two young men delivering goods were not wearing face coverings. A white van was being unloaded and these unmasked staff several times passed within inches of shoppers with no consideration for their safety. The one way system is unclear.

We've been going to this greengrocers since they opened, the produce is fresh and delicious. Other customers have mentioned in their reviews how unfriendly the staff are but we've never found that to be the case. This greengrocer and Roni on the corner have really improved Swain's Lane.

I've been going to the Tufnell Park Fam for years and truly, they are a godsend for any neighbourhood. Not just the amazing fruit, veg and fresh herbs but they have an extraordinary range of spices, teas, tinned goods, pulses, grains etc etc and they're so helpful and funny when you're looking for something out of the ordinary. Not only that, but during the first lockdown when it was incredibly hard to get hold of food in supermarkets, Fam worked tirelessly to keep ingredients available and I'll always be grateful for their efforts. I was frankly really amazed to read everyone's grumbles about them: a shop like this is such an asset. Read the 4.7 star average Tufnell Park branch reviews if you're in any doubt.

Excellent service, great products for a reasonable price will be coming back soon.

Great store, good range of products and friendly staff. Some of the products are a little expensive, but fruit and veg is generally on a par with Tesco.
