Reviews of Tachbrook Street Market
J. V.
Love the Thai stall especially with amazing staff. Next fave would be the falafel stand. Amazing food. Love all the stands. Open 10am to 3pm weekdays.
A. K.
small but effective, very good fish and meat stalls, the one veg stall has interesting stuff albeit much of it imported, two street food stalls. quiet pedestrian area, with a playground.
A. G.
A great selection from different stalls of freshly cooked meals. Great for midday snack whether it is traditional, Thai, Korean, or many others. Good choice.
G. M.
Great meat selection. If looking for hot food, lots of options, can recommend the Paella. Enjoy!
g. h.
Food stools are good with different ethnic variable tasty fresh food being cooked in the market . Lovely
J. R.
Best market in London. You can get anything from vegetables, to Afghanistani, Lebanese, Turkish and even vegan cuisines. Really good prices for London and the food is amazing! I personally go to the Turkish kebab stall and have a mix kebab in rice. Support local small businesses.
J. W.
Happened to pass by and tried Tom yum and prawn donuts at the Thai stall.
Very pleased to have these as my lunch. Highly recommend!
S. M.
Great street food, fishmongers, fruit and veg and butchers!
T. E.
A great London market. Excellent food stuffs. Not cheap though.
j. b.
Mainly a lunch-time event with a few street-food, fruit, veg, fish venders and a smattering of household basics in a dull surround with limited provision for seating.
Little in the way of atmosphere or distraction and unlikely, very unlikely, to confound expectations.
J. J.
Food is amazing. The Thai and Chinese stalls especially.
J. C.
Been living in Pimlico- on and off -for 45 years! there has always been an open air market in Tachbrook st! lively atmosphere and friendly vendors -
fresh fruit and veg/ fish/ meat all there ! Reasonable (not cheap) but wonderful Quality - also the little shops with cheap fruit and veg who are busy and welcoming !
C. M.
This market is brilliant - a real diversity in stalls and cuisines, all cooked freshly to go. Particularly a fan of the falafel and Chinese stalls, but a huge selection for everyone - particularly vegetarians/vegans.
D. E.
Nice market always a little bit more expensive than the local shops
A. L.
Funny street market...not so big but enough for a town..very good variety of street food..midday the right time
D. G.
Loved the food I got and has a good selection of choices of different street food .
L. R.
My new “local” discovery and favourite area for quick shopping. Worth a short walk or drive - full variety of shops and stands - from halal meat, through kebabs and fresh fruits & vegetables. Only difficulty I can see is the finding the parking but it’s not their fault after all. Really happy with the prices and variety of choices as well.
J. W.
Not a large selection but it has a fishmonger, butcher and greengrocer so what more could you want unless you've been spoilt by Borough market...
J. B.
Small Market but plenty of great Street Food certainly worth the visit😋
C. F.
Love this place. The fruit and veg stall has everything you want and more. Only wanted to buy a couple of things and ended up with a full rucksack and two full carrier bags. Everything was fresh and delicious 😋
F. A.
It's cool place to scatter and shop around
J. M.
Love this market.. street food is amazing
A. G.
Many really good food stalls. It has a nice atmosphere and the food prices are decent. There's a wide variety and all of them are really good! My favourites are the Turkish grilled kebabs, and the Falafels. The only complaint I have would be that there's no place to sit down or hang out to eat in peace.
L. S.
A good little market with some really great vendors. In particular the Thai stall is exceptional and the Turkish stall really good. Most meals are around the £7 mark, but this is another case where for you get far better quality (and portions) than if you were to go to one of the chains. Definitely worth visiting and returning.
n. t.
A beautiful market in the street. Some good food. Some good stalls. Basically all asian cuisine. But there is also some middle east cuisine. Right beside some shops. The jordan cuisine is delicious. The japanese one also good.
There is some crowd always there to be spotted. A fruit shop is there with some good fruits. An halal shop is also there is run by bangali peoples. They are good.
V. I.
As I work nearby, I try to go here every week at least once or twice as the food is delicious, very healthy and affordable. Nothing beats fresh warm food during an office day. There is a great variety to pick from, ranging from Japanese and Jordanian to Thai and Indian.
C.
A great little food market in Victoria with tasty food for (mostly) under a fiver. This place has the tastiest falafels and also the best Pad Thai I've ever tasted. Usually about 6 - 8 food stalls daily and a nice variety. Worth a visit if you're in the area.
O. P. J.
Love the seafood guys. They are awesome!!!
Z. L.
Great little market with some different chiices. Including Jordanian food. A decent option for vegans or veggies as well with two falafel stalls. The oriental places are quite good as well. My favourite is the Turkish one though
A. C.
Delicious food stalls Mon to Fri lunchtime. Excellent value, big portions, most around £5. My two favourites are the Jordanian and Japanese stalls, both get very busy!
S. N.
Fresh organic fruit and vegetables beautiful meat counter. And great cheese shop and new cafes. I must for fresh produce.
S.
Fab market with very good prices considering the other options in Pimlico/Victoria. You can sign up to a zero waste scheme and get your food in a tupperware. You’ll be able to tell by the queue that the pad Thai stall is out of this world (it’s honestly delicious) but I also recommend the Lebanese/falafel stall for some amaze fresh tasting falafel wraps (only 3.50 too!)
R. K.
Always good for street food lunch
S. B.
Haidresser No36 A this is a great place. Clean, friendly staffs. I discovered this salon today pleasantly surprise. LUNA was superb and very helpful. Port of Mask a must. Too much to list. But still go there and see for yourself.
F. F.
Small number of stalls and big queues at lunchtime but great food and reasonably priced. Its cheaper but has less selection than Strutton Ground nearby. The Fallafel stall is great and my favourote- they dont hang about, it's an effective operation that gets you a freshly made falafel wrap with halloumi, potato and aubergine for £4.50 and in a couple of minutes. The thai stall is nice too and all the other stalls look and smell great, I'm just too impatient to queue and like the quick turnaround on the falafels so always go there
R. J.
They have different foods which are tasty. Lovely sliver only jellewery stall on Fridays, bought a pair of earrings and bracelet. If you work locally it is a fantastic way to have lunch or meet with friends or even quietly by yourself.
D. C.
A great little market in the middle of London. Lots of fresh produce & food stands for a working lunch. I particularly recommend the little blue Felafel stand. Not the big red one. Best falafel wraps I've found in London
K. C.
Always a good shout to get lunch from Tachbrook street market. The variety is decent but not overwhelming as there is some overlap between shops, and they change day-to-day.
Favourites are the caglar kebab (its big. even the small wrap is a good size), similar to the felafel shop in the far corner (medium is adequate). The jinjja place does a great spicy chicken box and so does the japanese place next to it. Can get a good sized meal for about £5 (give or take..£3.5-£4.5 for a felafel/kebab/asian wrap, or £5-6 for a rice box or similar)
Not a lot of seats around and it is open air so just be cautious if its raining!
D. L.
Great lunch spot. There are a wide variety of different stalls and food. Every different place I have tried there has been good and represented value. Particularly fond of the Jordanian, Thai and Indian places.
A. M.
A pleasant market with a variety of food and shops. Not too busy and helpful stall owners. Would probably have been more vibrant and busy if it was not for Covid.
C.
Have bought from the Korean BBQ, Indian and Japanese stalls. All hot, freshly made and decent portion sizes. Missing out if you work round Victoria and haven't been!
M. J.
Different days. Different available vendors. Although you will find the fresh fruits and vegetables everyday. Jonathan the fish monger has a great and fresh selection. Worth paying the extra for a better quality fish. You will also find a choice of lunch food. Essential neighborhood market. Let's keep supporting. It gives Pimlico part of his character.
T. B.
There are usually several stalls offering freshly cooked street food, in addition to the grocer's stalls. The omelette style pad thai is usually pretty good. The downside is there's nowhere nearby to sit down with your food after you've got it.
J. S.
Good place for lunches. But no seating nearby. Falfal stall and stall that does lamb kebabs/wraps by far the best to go for. Also a fruit and veg stall, butcher and fishmonger some days of the week.
S. N.
A good selection of reasonably priced street food during the week. Thursday to Saturday there is a great fish stall, and another stall selling miscellaneous secondhand items from clothes to jewellery to furniture and more.
M. C.
Decent Falafel here.
A. O.
Great street market with big portions for good price. We regularly go there for lunch. Beware that there is no seating so options are just standing and eating right there or walking to a nearby park if the weather is good.
P. B.
This a wonderful place to get hot food from different parts of the world in a hurry unfortunately there isn't anywhere to sit down and to eat it but great to take home or work, I go there once or twice a week as a treat also it's a market for other products such as hardware, show repairer and keys cut etc plus fresh fish , fresh vegetables, clothes etc but you need to be there to see for yourself also charity shops close by too, enjoy yourself!!!
D. C.
Great little market serving good food. 4 or 5 vendors regularly. Pad thai, falafel wraps and the kebab place are by far the best. Prices range from £3-£6.
R. P.
Best place for fresh produce, meat and fish in the area and comes with the perks and care of family businesses. Now accepting card payments in all stalls.
A. L.
Great falafel wraps at £3.50 and wanted to try the pad thai (vegetarian) but was too full - next time! Also near some great op shops to find some good treasure for a good cause:)
L. S.
Great place to find a butcher and fishmonger during the pandemic. A few good food stalls.
R. B.
Clagar kebab, aka THE Market is the best value lunch you can get in Victoria. The Japanese is also great, but at over a fiver is better as a once in a while treat. If in doubt, go to Market.
X.
Best place to have your lunch special falafel very tasty the best in London I love this market
R. H.
Great the market the Jordanian Cuisine just done it for me! !
My favourite dish is the steamed okra with Lamb and the spinach with pomegranate. .. the best thing about it that it's Oil free !!!
R. T.
Love the market and always busy. Great food
F. N. I.
Lunch time food available weekdays. Falafel, noodles, rice, chicken kebab, chicken and lamb doner.
Indian groceries, bakery, coffee shop, newsagent, pet shop, locksmith and a hardware shop.
On the main road plenty of more shop, including Tesco and little Waitrose.
M. N.
good selection of lunchtime foods. The falafel stands are excellent (if you hang around looking interested they usually offer a taster!)
E. S.
More of a food court than market
B. N.
Really good food from almost all stands. Pad Thai is my favourite but the kebab comes in close second. Def recommend
t. B.
Lovely little market where you can buy veg's,fruits, fish and meat.
Plus very good street food.
e. C. F.
Excellent service at the fish / seafood market. Very friendly staff, they even help to translate their products to Spanish. I strongly recommend to any seafood lover. Servicio 5 *****
A. V.
Great street market in an otherwise costly area! The local staples of pad Thai, kebabs and falafel are always a safe bet, but try the new stuff too! I still miss the empanadas :(
S. G.
It's our local. And we love it.
I. A.
Great selection of takeaway food for lunch: kebabs, wraps, noodles, falafels. And many of the vendors are halal.
Y. S. T.
Many choices of food available - Thai, Japanese, Lebanese, Turkish, Indian , Burgers etc with fruit stall and fishmonger. Stall vendors are very friendly, too bad there isn't any tables and chairs for the public.
N. S.
A charming market in its own right I am totally addicted to its amazing daily falafel stand. For £3 I actually commute back from my office in Chelsea to get my chickpea fix once a week
E.
Good variety of items for sale. There are many types of ethnic foods, so great to pop in to try something for lunch.
A. K.
Awesome place to have good and cheap lunch with various options like Persian, Moroccan, Lebanese, Chinese, Indian, etc. Persian Caglar Kebab is one of the best.
S. N.
Everyone is lovely: veggie stand, butcher's, fish mongers ...nothing beats local food and produce!!!
黃.
Struggled during lockdown with only a few stalls. Now looks like it is back to business as normal.
B. M.
Great selection and variety for the corporate lunchtime escape. Fresh food and lots of options at great prices.... Beats another boring sandwich at Pret
J. B.
Really good for a low budget meal. The falafel are really fresh and the Turkish stand is heavenly.
