Reviews of The Source Bulk Foods Chiswick
L. S.
One of my favorite bulk stores.
They have everything, from pulses to sweets, and almost everything is vegan. You can also get freshly made butters (almond, peanut), refill your water bottle for free and refill cleaning products and oils. They also have some other zero-waste things as shampoo, creams, dental products... The staff is always very friendly and ready to help. Most (if not all) of their products are organic.

Love plastic free shopping. Wish there were more of these stores around.
Things are often (not always) a tiny bit more expensive but it's good quality foods and a good way to buy. And surprisingly you get a lot of options.

Absolutely excellent service, and this shop is just lovely, end of.
I came one Friday afternoon with a friend of mine, who has a social phobia, it was her first time in this area. We visited this shop and a wonderful assistant took care of us and helped us with our shopping, also introduced us to some new things, she came out of her way to serve us, took time and her lovely energy caused, that my friend now wants to go there every time we visit this area. So we both would like to say thank you to this lovely lady with dark long hair. Excellent work and what a lovely customer service. Well done. We will be coming soon again.

Amazing place. You've got everything you may need for your pantry. They also sell the containers to the best price you'll find them out there. Staff is super friendly and helpful. I do my weekly shopping there!

What a better way to shop without waste. No excess plastic and packaging. From here you can buy dried fruits, nuts, seeds, cereals and pulses, eco friendly laundry products, cleaning stuff and more. You can bring your own containers and weigh them then add what you want to buy. For those of us it that it would be too heavy for you can use paper bags. No waste shopping. I had came to here thinking it might be a bit too pricey but was really surprised at the prices. I bought dried pears, matcha and few other bits and pieces and will be back for more stuff. I am trying to reduce my use of plastic and eat a more whole food diet. The variety in here for such a small shop there is so much in here. I was taken aback. The staff in here were happy to explain and assist in my shopping.
As I try to find more ways to be better in what I eat for my health finding shops like this make it so much easier. It is also great to have such a wide range of dried goods. This definitely makes life a lot easier. I love this way of shopping. If I could only carry my glass jars to here to get them filled would be ideal. I dont feel bad however about using some paper bags I can take home and recycle or reuse.

OMG! What a neat idea! No added plastic commerce! And single use plastic packing is strictly verboten. Finally, a use for all the empty food containers that accumulate. As you pay by variable weight rather than fixed package size you can buy only what you need, thus reducing food waste. As if this wasn't enough, the staff are super friendly, helpful and accommodating.
Most of the food is healthy. But there is a section of food that's good for the soul if not the body. Thier chocolate products are especially lovely.

first time very good staff friendly and well stoked yum coffee I will go back again

This store is awesome. You bring in your own containers and weigh out what you want so no plastic waste. Most of it is organic. They have a great range of cupboard essentials, toiletries, chocolate, tea, coffee, spices, nuts and heaps of dried fruit you can't find in the supermarket like dried pineapple and peach (yum!) Staff are lovely and it's all set up for Covid safety.

I love shopping here. They have a great selection of products and it makes it so much easier to be environmentally friendly. Just bring your bags or containers and fill them up with whatever u like. The only drawback is that this isn't cheap so I can only visit it occasionally, it would be nice if the price point could be lowered to meet most people's pockets but the quality of food is great.
N. C.
Excellent plastic free shopping. We now visit with about 20 containers to restock on a huge range of produce. Weekly rubbish bag less than half what it used to be. Great concept.
A. W.
Superb range of cereals, nuts, dried fruits, chocolate, tasty olive oil and balsamic vinegar to mention just a small sample of their range which also includes cleaning items like liquid soap. And lots of gluten free goodies too.Bring your own bottles and they will fill them up. Brilliant place and polite helpful staff.

This is my favourite shop in Chiswick. I love the ethos of the brand. They have an amazing range of products and the staff are all so friendly and helpful. I wish they would open more shops all around London!

I was a first time visitor on Saturday. As a newbie to this packaging free shop I was given a tour and intro to how everything works by the fantastic Amber.
They sell everything from everyday essentials like washing up liquid to delicious chocolate covered hazelnuts.
There is great range of organic dried food with competitive pricing throughout. I was pleasantly surprised when I got the receipt.
I’ll definitely make this a regular visit!

I just love this place, there's another franchise in Clapham Junction too! They have a beautiful addictive lemongrass soap, and amazing dry food. Love the concept, we need so much more shops in London. Great service as well with loyalty program
R. L.
This place is phenomenal. We have been working towards living a slightly more plastic free life. The quality of food is spectacular. They have great gluten free ingredients. They even have bulk shampoo, washing liquid and conditioner. Just bring your own jar!
Fantastic staff and a good rewards programme. Make this a Regular stop and you won't regret it.
K. M.
I love the lack of packaging. I love the ability to buy tiny amount so spices don’t have time to go off at home. I’m not so excited by the availability of only “premium” products that cost so much more than when a supermarket sells them with packaging. But I’ll keep supporting the concept so that it can become more generalised and someday soon, I can go to the grocery store and buy mass-produced dish soap with my own bottle.
A. M. H.
Amazing zero waste shop! You bring your own used containers and jars and weigh them up. The staff write the weight on your jar then you walk around and choose from the wide range selection of foods they have to fill up your jar. Amongst the grains, pasta, rice, seeds, nuts, chocolate, dried fruit, tea and spices you will find something you will love! Great value for weight. They also sell other zero waste products such as toiletries and kitchen products. I'm definitely going back!
V. D.
A great place to buy bulk produce and I like the concept of not using packaging that cannot be reused or recycled. You can even bring your own containers to use to fill with whatever you want to buy. There is a wide variety of produce available to purchase. One of my favourite items to buy are the organic chocolate cashews which are so moorish and they also happen to be vegan, but you would never know.
K. S.
Superb for zero-waste starters and everyone. The stock is varied and high quality, presentation is really easy to understand. Staff are incredibly helpful (without being pushy, don't worry) and friendly. A perfect place to start a zero-waste kitchen. My favourite place to do my shopping, for all the reasons above!
S. S.
I love this shop. Staff are all friendly. I wish they accept Amex... that’s only the thing.
P. M.
I really like this place! It's a bit far from where I live, but I try to waste less and with them I am mostly plastic free at home! I would like it if it had a bit more variety on cereal. Next time, I will try and get some of the honey, olive oil and balsamic vinegar they have!
T. F. H.
Amazing place to buy food stuff in bulk (mostly dry goods). They have a wide variety of products. If you're environment conscious then this is a must because they do not deal in plastic packaging. Be prepared to bring your own containers (they do provide paper bags though) to fill up.
Y. K.
Great range of products, lovely staff, freshly ground nut butters, kombucha on tap, free filtered water, spacious layout, guilt-free shopping knowing you're keeping packaging down to a minimum.... It's just the best!!
K. W.
This shop is amazing, you can find all what you need. The staff is really friendly. I m happy to visit this shop
D. M.
Great products on offer and friendly, helpful staff. Good membership program too. I will be back for more :)
A. P.
Only reason i put 3 stars is pricing. It doesn't make sense when bulk food shop charges prices MUCH higher than any normal grocery. Not to mention high street supermaket chain.
Yes, most of the ingredients are organic. Still if I were to do my entire shopping here, which I would otherwise, it would come up easily over £60-70 for a low key shopping. Ridiculous.
Sorry, guys, but it's shouldn't be a luxury. Bulk food is bulk food. It has to be cheaper, especially compared with your competition.
That being acknowledged, selection is one of the best.
I'd adjust pricing at least on commodity ingredients such as sugar, grains, beans at least.

Revolutionising the way I shop and making me think more broadly about my footprint on the earth! Delicious treats and high quality basics with friendly and enthusiastic staff. Try going in one quiet morning and spending some time there getting to know the products and how best to buy in bulk. Would recommend going into talk with the staff about what to take with you to buy in bulk. It takes a bit of a culture change but is well worth the initial investment in being prepared. Would highly recommend the charcoal soap, the quinoa puffs and the banana bites!
W. S.
This small but complete shop sells all manner of nuts, seeds and cereals, some organic and all products show country of origin. Bring your own containers for cleaning products, soap, washing powder. This is for those of us who HATE waste and packaging! They have another shop in Clapham Junction. Staff are delightful too. Highly recommended.
Z. Z.
Great place and super choice of everything you can buy in bulk ! A lots of spices, nuts, legumes, seeds..even home products are here ! Fair prices, a lot of organic and VEGAN options 💖🌱
W. B.
A great way to shop that eliminates single use packaging. Top quality products, very helpful and friendly staff.
S. S.
Very well-designed interior, which makes shopping there a pleasure. Also, there is a huge variety of stuff, including grains, tea, chocolate, kombucha, and household items. They even have a peanut butter making machine! The staff was friendly. Definitely worth a trip if you live in London.
M. S.
Great place for organic lovers with big variety of bulk wholefoods, also gluten free and vegan. If you can't find what you are looking for, you can make a suggestion as there are some free spaces for products that people need. Enjoy!
J. K.

Best zero wast shop in London! They have any dry good you can think off, plus shampoo, conditioner, laundry liquid, dishwasher liquid, vinegars and oils (different types including sesame and avocado), kombucha, and a lot more other liquids in bulk. You can bring your bottle and they tare it there, or they have bottles you can buy. It is awesome! They even have baking powder, baking soda, all kinds of flours, banana flour, chlorela powder, spirulina, maca, camu powder, blueberry powder, teas, spices, nuts, dried fruits. And they even have chocolates and protein balls. I'm so happy we got this in Chiswick :)
C. A.

Amazing! I wish there was one near me in South East London. I bought so many different things and spent under £10 on the lot! There was a lot more I wanted too - everything I could need. It may be worth the 1 hour train journey just to come back again to stock up..
T. P.
I like this shop because it is plastic free. The products are very good and a little bit more expensive than the others shops. You can find more healthy products in this shop. Also the staff is very friendly.
