Reviews of Tooting Market
M. D.
Very cool and cosy place, you can find nice coffee shops, different delicious food from different cultures, Mexican, Greek, Japanese, Chinese and Italian one .
A. G.
Went for pizza and coffee. It is not much crowded during afternoon hours. Multiple food options with different cuisine. Good place to hangout.
Variety of shops available as well.
D.
Tooting market has changed over the years mixtures of grocery. Ethnic food, Restaurants wine bars, Beauty salon a bit clothing pet shop etc you get what I am staying.
Its vibrant The market itself is quite old still has the old interior and features. Nice to shop or for a glass wine and a bite to eat.
Some places take both cash or card toilets are on the premises. Something for everyone.
E. M. L.
I love the market with all the food stalls and the shops. Took me back to Mexico. Unfortunately like everything in the UK now has a couple of chain restaurants. Hopefully it's just a couple and doesn't becomes another horrible market like what happened to Spitalfields market in East London.
T. S.
Awesome visit, lively and great food and even some entertainment
N. S.
Place has changed so much since last was about 5 years ago. Totally different place from morning to night. Good vibes, music and food. Highly recommend. Better to stay local rather than going into central.
D. H.
I love this place and tooting broadway market (hard to spot the difference). So glad I now live in reasonable walking distance. From some cheeky Ox Tail on a day off, to a few pints in the buzzing atmosphere on a Friday with some dirty fries, right down to bibimbap for your hangover cure.
Z.
The place is usually smelly and in the evening there are weird people there, like those that deal with drugs and stuff. It is not family friendly but it is good if you go with your friends or partner to have a beer or something.
T. P. F.
Lovely place. Been here after few years, they renovated the market, the food is a bit pricey but the atmosphere, the people makes it another level. I will definitely come back. Have few drinks with friends, the bus and underground very close to the market.
S. B.
Over the years this market has grown to thrive in its diversity and become a hip place to visit. There are cafes and restaurants from all over the world serving delicious cuisines. There are handicraft shops, brewery and tailoring services. Overall a great place to hang out with friends or families.
Some of the good restaurants would be Green Choy, Koi, Basil takeaway and the slightly overpriced Caribbean juice bar in the central island.
Great tailors will include Anabela's and GB Collection. An excellent small business to shop for linen and Cotton clothes (including very cute attire for children)and renovated furniture and homeware is My Old Girl & Me.
Best coffee place with the worst service would be the Brickwood café (best to get a takeaway).
S. F.
A hidden gem right in the heart of Tooting with a wide variety of shops, bars & artisan restaurants. This place is well worth a visit anytime of the day and is very lively in the evenings.
E. I. T.
Is improving bit by bit but is a not well taken care ( some stalls are always close or too old) is great to have a drink or food or hung around with friends.
S. M.
Almost every nationality is represented in this amazingly colourful and vibrant market. All types of food and drink and artefacts can be seen. Young and old, tall and short, men and women with children and pets are seen mingling in a Fusion of creed and colour all together.
The sellers and the buyers, all harmonious interacting in a happy atmosphere that shows all that is great about London.
F.
Lots of little shops of all sorts available here. Main attractions lately: a lot of food and drinks stalls of all nationals available, Tap 13 who serves craft beer using a zero waste concept.
O.
A nice local market with its wooden framed decor, there is a variety of stores ranging from fabrics and antiques shops to the cafes, restaurants, bars, meat and fruit stores and etc.
Best times to visit the market when it's not busy and crowded would be:
The Weekdays from 9am-12pm and 3-5pm
Tips:
-Cash and card payments allowed here.
-Every store has a "wear face masks" sign.
In order to be served you would have to wear one unless you're exempt
-Toilets available
-Nhs barcodes all around
L. M.
Great Atmosphere. Lovely people. Could easily spend the day enjoying all the delights.
a. s.
Superb hidden away market takes about an hour to wander round. There is an excellent garment repair and seamstress who is Portugese who does excellent repair work.
Lots of places to eat. Parking can be found close by in the side streets paid meter parking.
N. K.
Love tooting market. Little shops and great food and toots the cat
S. j.
A marvellous market that personifies what London inhabitants are all about.
Vibrant place that is full of vitality. No shortage of food and drink plus all sorts of artefacts are up for sale.
A place where people of all Creeds and Culture, people of all colors and all sizes, young and old come together to mingle and let the hair down.
A.
Not a very fantastic market that you should go but it is a real hidden place you can enjoy at tooting area. It is bit bigger than expected at the front. Very cosy and l love the vibe here.
J. W.
So many different palace. So much to do.
J. W.
If you're looking for ethnic ingredients for your cooking, this is the place. Cheap too! And when you feel hungry there are numerous food vendors deep inside the market doing things like jerk chicken, Portuguese grills, and Chinese food
D. B.
Great customer service.
Excellent food.
The food is healthy
Nice and caring staff.
Good place to take friends and family to for a meal
D. S.
Variety of foods available from different countries.. good place to chill out with friends
I. A.
A fairly small market that is ever evolving. You'll find remnants of the market of old such as curios and and more modern eateries. There is a small communal area to sit and eat and some toilets too.
a. a.
Pretty lively place, with bars and restaurants scattered around. Very good prices. And good food. Soemthing for all.
K. G.
Love this place. Used to be owned by the same owners as Camden market. Great selection of cuisines and cheap pints too
D. S.
It's changed alot I must say for the best although I must say it's mainly a food hall . Fresh produce and cooked food of all different kinds. Some good arts and crafts along with some regular market type stuff
D.
Very eclectic place. Visited o Monday. Was quite but could feel the vibes of it being a fun place for food and drinks..
M. B. D. S.
Great market with alot of options and funky stores. The food stalls smell and look amazing
J. M.
A vibrant place both at day time and in the evenings too. Caters for a vast public's food tastes. A fun place to experience fine dining.🆒

Interesting
Tooting Market launches its newest expansion, the Yard Market at 20 Totterdown Street. What was previously an underused empty yard area has now become a vibrant, colourful shopping destination. With over 7000sq.ft. of new retail space, we have curated a creative mix of 13 new retail & food units and a 3500sq.ft. gym. You can now experience some new micro businesses and amazing street food such as The Athenian Greek street food, Poptata chip heaven, VBELLY vegan restaurant and more. If you’re up for a workout, visit the F45 gym at the first floor at 20 Totterdown Street (the fastest growing gym franchise on the planet).
B. R.
Love the take aways and how busy it gets. Nice place to catch up with friends, have a drink
J. S.
Definitely hidden gem, for people to only goes out to Central London. Good vibes, worth to come down to South
A. H.
Brilliant eclectic mix, coffee shops closed so early though!! Friendly helpful staff, great market.
D. H.
The variety of food options are incredible and food is always great. Proper multicultural London experience at its best - how it should be 🙏🏼
N. S.
Great selection of pop up style restaurants and bars. Really eclectic selection of foods with something for everyon. We ate at blue bayou and had some delicious American po boy sandwiches and buffalo wings Taht were delicious. The sausage gravy is amazing!!!
J. F. -. B.
On a par with Brixton Market, Tooting Market offers the shopper items from Indian Fabrics to Carrabian cuisine
A secret the locals would rather keep to them selves.
Come and discover why
S. R.
Great food, Quirky shops best beers, gin that slips down a treat, wines, something for kids and forever getting better it is a must or Miss Out AAAAA++++++++++++++++++×++
B. D.
Visited the Happy Tum for a coffee. The owner was very kind, when I said I only had credit cards he offered me free one! Luckily there is a cash machine close by so I was able to pay. The coffee is also very good!
H. S.
Very nice place. Lots of eat out places.
i. k.
Great place to eat and drink. This place has been updated from when I was a kid and has been updated for younger adults
a. S.
Tooting market has been around since I was little. I'm in two mind about it. There used to be more or a selection of shops and stall from staple items to the weird and wonderful. Over the last couple of years it has been rejuvenated but with endless eateries and bars.Somehow it has had the heart taken out of it but also become more vibrant.
Sad to see the little button and bow and sewing stall is closing.
D. A.
Always very good, lots of interesting stores, restaurants, bars
E. B.
Great assortment of worldly food stalls 😋
T. T.
Nice market and atmosphere
Nice thai take away. Worst cup of tea ever from shop in corner near public seating area £2 plastic tea bag so weak asked for another bag even with this the tea was undrinkable.
S. A.
Really cool place with a great range of foods.
k. k.
Great place great food 👌 and bustling with people a must go
P. M.
Some pretty good bars and restaurants here, definitely worth a visit!
P.
Loads of food places to try alongside some interesting bars.
J. W.
Makes Tooting a better place. Remember it as old and run down when I was a kid. Now Tooting Market and its sister. The Broadway Market are the bustling heart of town. Full of restaurants offering offering cuisines from around the world, trendy bars, cafes and some of the old stalls selling meat and clothes. I do hope the chains stay away.
A. R.
It’s nice, however, it close a bit too early
H. m.
Properly cool place and good food lots of selection don't stop at the first kit hen go see what's at the end
E. F.
I love the shoe repair shop in Tooting Market. Great service. Tooting Market is nice and big, like a labyrinth and one can get all sorts there including home items, restaurants, salons etc. Really good 👍.
H.
Tooting market holds history and culture.
Infact there is a new and old tooting market and both main gates open onto the high street.
A real old bazaar feel, with small sized shops.
There is a pet shop and there are recently opened food shops as well....
Across the road parking is free after 1730 hours on weekdays & on Sat...
I visited for key cutting service.
H. C.
Racist management, definately won't recommend, although some units in the market are ok, and have good customer service. The management are not righteous, and are selective...
C. C.
Visited here with my daughter for lunch. What a fab place to visit with it's array of stalls and places to eat and drink.
C. N.
Nice food and great atmosphere on weekends!
C. M.
A quirky alternative to going out for a meal. Great place to meet friends for some informal food and a beer
Y. D. G.
Love the sounds, sights and smells of the foods, had lunch here, very good.
L. W.

S. A.
We loved the Chinese food. We will come again; it was also good value for the money.
Z.
Market has some cool bars and attractions. I liked my time here
J. F.
Lovely little place - food from around the world, from Poland to Mauritius and the bayous of the deep south to honest american burgers, not to mention a great selection of places to whet your whistle. You get some characters there on weekends though - saw a fully grown man doing some kind of photo shoot showing off his hawaiian shirts, very strange indeed...
W. H.
Very "visit" worthy and diverse market place. Lots of coffee shops, bars and restaurants to suit every palate.
C. B.
Fantastic ambiance, great choice of food although I wish they'd keep out the chain restaurants and keep the oldies that have been there for years. It's important to not loose the authenticity of Tooting Market.
J. M. P.
A great market alongside its sister market almost next door. It’s South London’s version of the Grand Bazaar - lots of small stalls selling everything from micro gin brands to saris. Very eclectic and friendly, like the area itself. I live in SW London and my journey to Tooting was well worth it.
N. B.
This place is vibrant , varied, and valued for the community, the food and drink and grocery shopping is amazing , will return
G. F.
Best korean food from Green Choy I had in long time super delicious and friendly service and the decor super cool, highly recommend if you in the area.
D. W. (.
Saw a couple of pictures in LoveArt that I thought would suit my sister's bathroom. Got a decent discount, will definitely use again.
A. R.
Good vibes, nice shops and lots of friendly people
b. h.
Great market with an awesome little Portuguese restaurant/cafe.
L. G.
Great market, the gin bar is a gem of this place
G. H.
Magnificent array of stalls, restaurants and shops. Essentially South London in its easy warmth and multi cultural vibe. No finer place to go in London along with the equally wonderful Broadway market next door. Brilliant vinyl shop called Dr.Vinyl is a real highlight.
R. C.
a selection of good food and cheap pints at the not so secret, secret bar
R. A.
Full of character, a typical traditional market, during daytime but upgraded to a relaxing location to chill out in the evenings, great transport links , most certainly worth a test drive ,
F. D.
Good ambience good food alittle overcrowded though
i. a.
Food is delicious in the market tried a few shops 5*
S. P.
Amazing historic market. Shame there are mainly food places now. But better than being knock down by the crossrail
J. L. U.
You'll find anything you need there.
Love this place. There's even a pet shop!
C. M.
Fantastic selection of food, drink and random shops.
O. W.
Great market. I recommend going to "Hot Kenkey to go." If you like kenkey and other African foods. There are also a lot of foods from different countries so I highly recommend it if you want to get foreign food and acesseries. There is also a pet and phone shop and a few other places that are not food related.
P. W.
Visited 'the-lone-fisherman' excellent service, excellent food.
H. S.
Was fine, good coffee, but not a lot of choices.
S. s.

K. K.
Interesting stalls selling a variety of asian and western crafts and food
H. T. -. T.
I can see why it is in the top 10 coolest neighbourhoods to visit in the world
D. L.
I've been walking through this market every week since the '60s. Seen plenty of changes, it's different, but better than ever! If you wanna know what makes London tick, spend some time and money down here ! No big multinational outlets, just small businesses trying their best.
Covid rules apply, it's all good!
L. H.
I love the market ..I go there every weekend and look forward to it
r. j.
Night out very good and the food 5 star's
F. N.
I went to Tooting Market rather late today. A lot of the stall we're close, but in any case i still manage to pick up my item from online shopping which is really andy rather than waiting for ever for it to be delivered at you're front door. & you can pick up you're order from Amazon because they have lockers located at the back of Tooting Market. Tooting Market great for picking up online items, also as take away food.
A. S.
I love going to tooting market , it's clean and tidy and shops are lovely.
I.
Getting better every time; toilets can be more clean
o.
Fantastic place. A lot of delicious foods and drinks
A. L.
Cheap cheap cheap!!! I love it!! Of course a bit grimmy but yeah its great for a bargain. Definitely coming back!
S. B.
Generally fun and buzzing and wonderful. During COVID the opening times of stalls have been anyone's guess so sometimes it's just empty! But that's COVID I guess.
There's a stall there with the best Filipino food in South London... yum!
G. S.
Still a genuine market. Reach out before it gets fully Brixtonified. The Thai popcorn chicken at the entrance is awesome.
D. R.
Something for everyone.
Amazing selection of food from independent restaurants and takeaways.
Great place to go with mates and just enjoy loads of different places.
A. W.

C. M.
They didn't have many shops open.quite disappointed
C. O.
One of the best markets in London. The food scene is fantastic. Well worth a visit. Lonely Planet has designated Tooting one of the coolest places. Open during the week but busiest at the weekends.
J. K.
I was passing by and went through the market. Very busy place, and spotted fee things I need, will visit it again, this time to buy one the nice art and craft I saw.
Thank you
M. B.
An absolute hi lite of my visit to Tooting. It was buzzing with an atmosphere that is palpable. Huge range of foods and drink on sale in the most diverse setting. It felt warm and welcoming to all. Do visit for a treat .
S. G.
Rushed in and out looking for one item... not available. Didn't really notice what was open/closed. Not many customers.
S. E.
Tooting market is pleasant place to eat and support your local small cafe &restaurant. Due to Covid-19 with second lockdown come to affect, it will be limited opening hours for takeaways. But when things get better I recommend to give a try and I'll ensure you will enjoy the cosy cafe and restaurants.
K. H.
Good choice of nice food from all around the world, few good places to grab a drink but could be cleaner and brighter inside
V. G.
Great atmosphere, changed a lot over the years!
D.
Really nice market, very foodie now, clean, worth a visit
K. P.
Great unique shops and restaurants. There’s a great Mexican restaurant and Japanese whiskey shop!
J. M.
Some good places to eat, needs a few more drink options
K. M.
Amazing place buzzing with energy. So many cafes and cuisines to choose from! Loved it!
J. S.
Tooting Market isn't Tooting Market any more. Although there are a few shops Tooting Market isn't a place you go for market stuff. Good for a minor restaurant or two, a tapas bar or a Caribbean jerk shack, but only one or two vegetable stalls and shops. Brilliant if you like that sort of thing, Mauritian food included, Mauritian food particularly, up the back.
f. l.
Tooting market is a one of the biggest market in london dont forgot to go guyz
A. B.
Interesting place a few nice restaurants, pubs, takeaways and even a tattoo bar.
J. K.
Non hipster point of view. Nice place, great variety of food - had Greek at Athena. Surprisingly well kept and tidy throughout for a market. Recommended.
I. F.
Great place, real community feel, lovely food, loads of choice
F. R.
Great market with lots of places to eat and go shopping. Live music on the weekends.
C. E.
An amazing, eclectic array of local seamstress and jewellery stalls as well as millennial pop-up restaurants of all sorts of cuisines. One of my favourite things in Tooting- the atmosphere is buzzing and it's all under one roof!
S. T.
Brilliant place for Sunday breakfast
K. A.
You can find all sort of food here. Not like it was back in the day. But still welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
S. S.
You can shop a lot if Indian stuff and food here.
A. E.
Increasingly gentrified. Average food. Good spirit though.
N. N.
Some great gems hidden away in here.
Leave the high St and venture into the market that is without a doubt full of variety and has an electric mix of the old and new.
Some really good eateries, something for everyone from vegan to ramen it's all there!
m. F.
Great place to explore been in here many many times but still discover new things every time
J. M.
Lively with plenty of variety its a better than a box park that for sure
I. D.
Halal chinese food here. Such a Fantastic ethnic diverse place for food and good atmosphere .
j. d.
Molly slime work shop great for kids my daughter loved it...definitely reccomend
Z. S.
The bright side of gentrification.....
Tooting Market is cool local place with tons of small businesses.
There are actually 2, the Tooting Market and the Broadway Market.
This one has lots of good places to eat, there is a Duck Wrap restaurant, Greek, the Calzone guy (aCtUaLLy it's a PaNzErOti), Franco Manco, boom bap burgers and a craft beer place.
Friday night is the best time to go, good vibes, good food and drinks, good people, good times.
B. “. T.
My favourite place in London. Relaxed atmosphere, great food and better drinks. The guys at we brought beer are friendly and funny. Chris with his Carribbean cooking is well worth a visit (at the very least grab a patty). My only problem is I don't live close enough.
L. S.
A nice mix of old and new. There are quite a few trendy restaurants and bars squeezed in between old market stalls so it is quite unique . it is definitely a place to come back to and explore - let's just ope it will keep its rare character.
J. R.
Amazing restaurants and great drinks.
R. K.
Great market , especially sew much more tailers who are fantastic at sewing almost anything from dresses , blouses, trousers etc Def recommend going there !
L. V.
I decided to walk from the lido to the underground and so chose to take a stroll through the common. The woodland here was lush and the grass was well maintained. I really enjoyed this common. Had an extremely calming effect on me. You can forget you are in London. Had my nephews this weekend and we came down here to play. The park is full Of families relaxing and some great swings and tennis courts. So blessed to live here. Went here for a run, the park is quite extensive and well maintained perfect for relaxing on the grass or excersise!
P.
Small, but great place to have dinner. The ambient is quite likable as the music isn't high. Some of the restaurants have very enjoyable food. Prices are cheap. Good experience overall.
t. m.
Been to revisit Market after 16years.totally different.
J. R.
Best market for your Caribbean yam, sweet potatoes, banana, plantain, okra plus more. Also check out the Ital healthy shop for your natural plant base cooked food and purchase variety of bulk dry food healthy options ie pulses, bulgarwheat rice, juices etc👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Y. S.
Very cool place. Rich in culture and diversity and full of surprises. The local shop/store owners have somuch to offer and such interesting stories. Great vibe around this area. A nice place to spend a Sunday afternoon.
T. Y.
Great market with lots of variety. Loads of little bars and restaurants. Everywhere I've tried is exceptional, so give it a go!
K. B. L.
One of the most iconic specialist markets in London with bistro type cafes and that artiste vibe that makes you want to make it a regular haunt.
Tooting Market has evolved over the years into an alcove of chef's recommendations!
D. M.
It was very good in general. If you are looking for a varied type of food this is your place. The food was amazing and I was smiling all the time I was there. 9 out of ten would recommend going there again.
A. B.
Yummy food. I had a chinese portion and I couldn't finish it once. Very cheap and tasty. There are places for sitting. The only issue is that during the summer the market (which is a close one) get heat. There is no air conditioning.
B. O.
Most of the stores were closed when i went in due to restrictions but i will go in again when they are lifted to get the full experience
R. “. L. T.
Difficult to get to from and by Car.
Went to buy Ghanaian foodstuff. The service was brilliant and I got to practice speaking Twi. It was great to see the different food and dishes I hadn't seen for ages.
The atmosphere was very lively and very warm, just like you would expect from bazaar markets. I bought plantain, dry fish Goat meat and shrimps. Loved every moment. After I had gotten over the drive by car and finding where to park...
G. B.
Nice and cozy place with lots of varieties of food and services. A mix of modern and old and lots of different tribes
A. M.
Tooting market and Broadway Market next door have totally transformed themselves giving a quirky blend of market stalls selling saris, bric-a-brac, Asian foods and the odd butcher, all this gives way to food eateries and bars in the evening even a local Gin brewery.
It's always a great place to visit.
E. I.
This market is an amazing place, providing top-class foods and a wonderful space to while away an hour or two.
My experience today was however, far from pleasant.
The open-plan seating arrangement is not as open as it seems.
My friend & I unwittingly sat in an area reserved for customers of one particular stall.
There is no signage nor demarcation to indicate this.
The owner of this stall set upon us, to oust us with such fervour that I dropped the remainder of my meal before finding alternative seating.
His enthusiasm to do so only served to maximise his audience potential and to intensify our embarrassment.
I no longer feel secure dining in this market unless seating is indicated to me by my chosen vendor.
My advice to this stall owner is this:
It is always best to assume the better of others, that their actions are as a result of ignorance and innocence. A simple discrete, "Are you aware...." would have resulted in our apology for inconvenience caused and a swift move elsewhere.
To assume connivance and opportunism in the other will only ever serve to alienate and insult, as you have done to me today.
M. K.
So many shops too.many choices
p. o.
Good place for shopping and hang out diner with friends
B.
tatty and overpriced.not managed to copy Brixton market at all
A. K.
First visit to Tooting Market last night. What a brilliant place really interesting is there anything you can't buy here? Had a look round all the restaurants and chose a pizza which was really good value and enjoyable. Very friendly atmosphere. Will be visiting again.
b. l.
Great choice of food stalls and cheap beer on tap, and you can stand outside or in (covid permitting)
J. T.
When you want and out doors experienced eat ,drink beer have a laugh.
S. C.
Great community spirit, the market stalls are quite popular and sells array of different produce. There is also food stalls which caters for your cravings including vegan bakery.
C. A.
Went for ribbon for a project I'm. Doing. Found the ideal stall. Very helpful and patient. Food stalls galore. Old fashioned butchers with a variety of cuts of meats as well as offal.
L.
Great place with some many options.

Excellent one of the best Markets, it has a variety of foodstalls from Portuguese, Polish to Mauritian (one of the best in South London) 9. Many decent bars, a couple of comic shops and a decent record shop. Tooting is fast becoming the place to be and also has many visitors from France, Italy and USA. Come down and check out the vibe! Also split into two markets with quality tailors, fishmongers and butchers. I also like the friendly atmosphere and mature over 25 crowds. Also has a decent range of fruit and local market stores with the emphasis on friendly service. Brixton market has changed with a different vibe but Tooting mixes the local with the trendy to ensure a satisfying shop, eat out and good time.

Tooting market is the greatest. Was born in tooting back in 84 and have always loved it. I am proud of our multicultural society and tooting market is a shining example of that. Food from around the world. Long-standing Jamaican Chinese and Indian places. New pop ups. Beers gins and wine bars.
Definitely worth multiple visits to try out every little hidden gem. Thanks ☺️
A. P.
An excellent hub of small businesses, craft shops, bars and restaurants. Should be a go-to for any Tooting residents, or the nearby boroughs. Personal favourites include Graveney Gin (Tooting's very own gin and tiny bar), Koi Ramen, and BYO (for all of your world-saving refill needs)
m. a. A.
Competitive prices all around from different shops
P. C.
Cafes, artisan bakery, gin distillery, craft shops... Tooting market used to be a colourful place full of Saris and golden bangles; now it's a colourful place full of hipsters and conversation. Brilliant day and night.
r. q.
Up and coming.
Tooting Market is now filled with many trendy independent restaurants and bars. Great for a night out for drinks or a quality meal.
R. S.
Great place to get food
J. H.
I love goin in here a lot more foodie places its changed so much over the years
m. d. m.
I absolutely love Tooting Market, and it's constantly changing! Great place to come and meet people, have a drink and something to eat, shop a bit and just hang out.
If you haven't visited Tooting Market, you really should see it for yourself.
The only real problem is the caretaker, he makes the market loose a star for me. He's extremely unfriendly and even got made at us because we plugged our computers into a socket that wasn't being used. His attitude is at complete odds with the spirit of the place.
N. G.
Wonderful place full of good food and drinks. Perfect for a night out or a bit of shopping in the day (or both!)
T. M.
This market has changed massively over the years. It's now a mix of the old fruit and veg stalls, new school eateries and odd little shops. Great to have a wander around....definitely something for everyone here.
K. R.
Amazing range of shops and the smell is so nice all the food stalls have delicious food
H. W.
A bustling indoor market to experience multi-cultural cuisines. It's hard to practice the social distancing effectively but really enjoyed the energy and food variety.
A. W.
A range of delicious food places with good prices, especially with midweek deals. Some are overly expensive and some are very reasonable for what they offer but it's a friendly place with great variety.
T. R.
Since childhood times in the 80s, Tooting has undergone a blend of traditional ways of trading with modern day needs and wants...
Brilliant to see the community and independent pop up food places... Great late opening times over the weekend... Apparently til 2am...
Bang Bang chicken and noodles from £4 to handmade proven sourdough pizza £8...
P. M.
Eclectic food and drink amongst traditional market stalls ... the new hoxton?
H. K.
Overall market itself is pretty fun place to shop, they have nice shops ranging from clothing to food all at one place, show owner are friendly the only downside is the lack of parking and a bit of bad smell, if you can overlook those negative pointers you will be a happy customer who will visit on regular bases..
N. C.
Mini marker with amazing features and options to eat or drink, some few other shops offering hand made or really iconic items. Nice option to show this different world to your friends it's really worth it!
g.
Excellent cafe and good value for money. You don't need to travel the world to taste different food. Coffee shop from Mauritius, Thai, Italian, Ghanean, food taste.
J. L.
Good fun lots to eat and drink!!
E.
You can find most things you want from here and if you can't they will point you to where you can find it, I was looking for a cheap hard drive but didn't have time to wait for amazon as my laptop needed space. Found it
y. v.
Love going there. The diversity of cultures there are something to just love. The food is absolutely delicious. We love going there because of the mauritian food "mangé des iles" i definitely recommend paying him a visit. You will not regret it.
o.
Very nice food option
S.
Great selection of small restaurants that are all very tasty. Great for groups and fab cocktails. Abit cold in the winter time though so wrap up!
T. H.
Tooting Market is always very good. It has a wide variation of food from across the globe including Greek, Mauritian and Lebanese. There is a limited space to sit but it frees up soon enough.
A. F.
I love this place since my first visit. Restaurants with cuisine from all around the world. A must see market
A. A.
Nice shopping market, it's very multicultural
O. C.
Very cute market with lots of different cuisines
J. R.

A. B.
It's has lots of different Business outlet, keeping Tooting lively and the atmosphere is great.
K. P.
I enjoyed masala chips and salsa Very tasty.
L. S.
Totally delicious but don't dare say it's Calzone! 😁 Light, flavourful and fresh, a scrumptious pocket of Italy on your plate. We had the Panz Jungle and the Panz chicken and had to share because we couldn't decide which was better! The Panz Jungle had delicate pieces of goats cheese and aubergine amongst other things and just the right amount of chilli. The Panz Chicken had a delicious fresh tomatoe sauce and succulent pieces of chicken, he suggested some chilli flakes as he was preparing it, I'd highly recommend you take his advice!!
A. M.
Just highlights what gentrification has done in this area. All the skinny jeans, big beards and seven haircuts in one won't stop me coming here. Loved it before, even better now.
D. B.
Crowded but worth visiting or eating
K. W.
It's great for a visit and meal out, there's such a great atmosphere in the evenings and plenty of different eateries, very trendy.
M. M.
Having been working a couple of months a year for the last 4 years down in tooting, I'm gutted that I've only discovered the market on this time round!! There are some astoundingly good independant shops and restaurants here! Reasonable pricings, and all high quality!! There are two parts to the market if walking from the Broadway tube, so be sure to make you way to both spaces. First one is more little alleys and paths style, second is more of a hall. Too many places to mention to see, just go see it all!!!
P. B.
So hip and a little for everyone. Nice cosy eateries available, organic fruits straight from the farms, all sorts. Lovely and lively place to visit. Very clean
S. N.
Great place for vegan food.and vegan groceries to buy bring your own container.
J. T.

L. C.
This place does not lack atmosphere thats for sure, loads of lovely places to drink or eat, such a good vibe, whole place was buzzing and would recommed this place if you're after a good evening out.
S. K.
Full of character, with brilliant eateries and hidden gems round every corner. Plus we always get a friendly smile from all the traders!
D. B.
If you live in South West London and don't know about this place slap yourself 😂🤣
a. a.
I purchased cap on resonable price
I. G.
It's an interesting place to see as there are goods here from many eastern cultures. To me it's not a plus. Smells of spicy Indian food, fresh fish and meet and it feels a bit claustrophobic and dark.
A. S.
Today I had a great pizza, no it wasn't Franco Manca, it wasnt a street store either, but a conossoir coner of the market is where I found the most crisp pizza I have ever tasted
Gianni's Pizza Pie , is a little green shop that has few ingredients, but with big flavour, I saw an Italian Lady really enjoying the authentic taste and thought I had to try.
I ordered the Spinach Mushroom Pizza, soft with stringy mozzarella in the centre and crisp on the edges with a base so thin, I had to take a picture .. it was great pizza.
Pictures of Gianni's Spinach and Mushroom Pizza

Getting better, more good places etc.
A. P.
Love love love this place, so up and coming! Reminds me of Brixton village market, lots of independent drinking/eating places. Pretty tired then all and have my favs, some not so much, worth the visit for sure! Do not miss out!
N. G.
This is a nice market, small but clean, with indoor vendors. It's a bit hot inside, where there are seating areas. It's a bit crowded and it's difficult to adhere to distancing.
D. K.
Interesting place to visit in Tooting.
Unique market which open till evening.
Much brighter atmospere than Tooting broadway Market.
You can find out your favorite food here as well.
Mind! Some of shops accept only cash!
H. W.
Affordable food. I usually enjoy my shopping experience there
L. D.
This place is nice to me and friends it's the fusion heart of tooting different people different food, just a cool place to meet friends and chill.
A. B.

R. S.
A hidden gem! Think Brixton market but without the pretentiousness!
j. s.
I love this place very good bus services also got big Salisbury stores
S. R.
Nice small food and bar stalls
A. J.
A bustling local market with shops from many different cultures and delicious food. Chinese, Jamaican, British,Arab/Turkish (the origin of shawarma is disputed) you name it. There are also toilets and disabled and baby changing facilities. A comic book shop is found there , which is a quite rare find because of the rarity of it , especially in Greater London. They could work on hygiene. The tables are usually occupied and even then, not very clean. On the whole, 8/10 would recommend for local multicultural food.
l. p.
Didn't really look about to rate it
V. D.
Nice market, happy to find a variety of floor carpets and some antiques, which I was looking for. It's a chilled out space overall.. Check our the pictures! Cheers!

Get on down here. Awesome choice of food to try....we love 'Tacos & Tequila' - we're all about Mexican - great atmosphere too.

Small, but great little businesses. You can see the quality in things because they're privately owned. Best ramen in Koi. Best I've had.
J. H.
Great for lunch with the kids or a relaxed bite to eat in the evening from a wide and varied choice of street food. From Venezuelan Arepas to Ramen to posh chips and souvlaki. Enjoy
A. C.
Has great restaurants inside, definitely try Mamma Mia pasta, the best Italian food ever had in London.
K. H.

You couldn't want for a more diverse selection of food on offer. In the evening the place comes alive and is becoming the worse kept secret of Tooting for a great social evening, packed with food drink and awesome people!
G. C.
Highly recommend, great selection of food and bar outlets. Great atmosphere all round
B. W.
Great atmosphere and great food
s. y.
Decent vegan kebab
C. (.
Rough tough and full of stuff. With lockdown it's a good laff. But TBH in normal times you'd rather hit you local or outdoor beer garden in good weather.
M. N.
Lots of interesting food choices, although do miss some of the old school feel the market used to have
D.
The market is alot of fun and there always seems to be something new to see every month. The food here is high quality but affordable, this is a great place to hang out for a few hours any day of the week.

Awesome wee place located in the wonderfully atmospheric Tooting Market. The food and customer service was fantastic, reasonable prices too.... I would highly recommend The Joint to anyone!
Z. P.
A beacon of London culture. The food scene is excellent, diverse, and reasonably priced. The atmosphere inside is generally lively and busy.
Y. A. a. B. B.
Please keep Tooting Market open. It's South Londons Shoreditch! At least give the stall owners free rights to the new property and let them retire peacefully 🙏🏿
M. T.
Great atmosphere - plenty of places to pick from at reasonable prices
P. P.
I would just like say a HUGE thank to the security guard that was working in the market last night I'm sorry we didn't get your name. You were most obliging with helping us access parts of the market with my
friends father who is a wheelchair user.
It's nice to have someone so lovely and helpful on site. Thank you 😊
M. C.
Amazing Vive, friendly atmosphere with drinks and food at a fraction of the price. Parking is an. Issue oy before 5.30. plenty of parking available in the evening.

Awesome place to get whatever food you want. Great atmosphere and food. Sad aggressive non service from the guy at the Mexican place
T. k.
Because we get a large variety of vegs, fruits, meat, fish n cooked foods available in Tooting markets. Also because there r quite a few little stolls that sell foreign foods. We also meat people from different communities.

Not so good during lockdown naturally but still worth a visit for food
F. M.
A variety of food experiences for your taste buds in one roof.
F. K.
Due to covid not all stores are open but still got a lot of flavors in one place
M. T.
Smashing post-covid it's great. Much better than trying to go through the hoops pubs make you jump through (having a table/queuing/distancing etc)
S. A.
Love it so much there in a small space. No parking
S. M.
Great independent bars, restaurants and shops in both the old and new market. A real treat for the senses.
B. M.
Parking issues and access problems, plenty of small businesses and nice people though
D. R.
Fantastic place to visit, everything you would like to find in a town market and better, from amazing coffee bars to a fantastic old vintage Record shop
D. M.
This place as undergone an amazing transformation in the 4 years I've lived in the area. It was always an interesting place with small shops selling an eclectic range of goods from carved wooden heads to batteries and textiles however I never found myself actually purchasing anything. Without losing its charm it has managed to transform into a fledgling food and drink destination in the mould of Brixton Village. There's a great selection of places and it seems to be developing all the time. Some small London chains like Brickwood, We Brought Beer, and the soon to open Franco Manca haven't diminished the more independent offerings in the market and it remains my favourite place to wander on a Saturday morning. With Unwind, the Secret Bar and Graveney Gin there is also a relaxed nighttime scene thats a relief from the increasingly busy tooting pubs.
A. K.
Great variety of foods available. A bit of a fast food culture. Nice place to hang out with friends
S. L.
First time there it's very lively with friendly, welcoming people from all sides of any catering business inside the marketplace.
