Nice to see a part of London that still has an outdoor market - with stalls ranging from fruit and veg, to clothes and handbags to perfumes...etc. It's a lively part of London. Walking through it, you can run into "characters", whilst also feeling relatively safe. You feel a sense of community where a lot of the regulars clearly come and visit and take their business there. The market runs along the high street, so there are also well established high street shops alongside it, should you need something more (jewellers, butchers, ethnic foods...etc).

Loads of shops they are all different kinds so you’ll be able to find what you’re looking for if you go there there is a large range of fruits at one of the places others sell rugs and loads of different stuff.

My favourite local market in Walthamstow. Although I have relocated to Peterborough, I still pay occasional visits to do some shopping. Comfortable parking space in the Shopping mall.

A great place to visit for locals and visitors alike - who want an experience off the tourist beat. The market is the longest market in Europe and hosts an array of different stalls - fresh food and veg, clothes, second hand items and street food. The place is extremely diverse, you can tell from the different food stalls along the market - from turkish cuisines, authentic asian food and jamaican. Saturdays are the main day for the market. There are local stores along the side of the market street - from Polish groceries/restaurants, turkish cafes, high street brands; the market also has an indoor Mall - with all the high street stores and a fast food restaurant area. Walthamstow market is famous for being the longest in Europe 🇪🇺 but it really needs some better big brand names as its mainly food and convenience stores

It's a very busy High Street. So many things you can get at a reasonable price. I love strolling up and down this market looking for a bargain.

Can find many foods there. I buy smoked turkey legs/wings, mangoes, breadfruit, goat etc

Always worth dropping by for a good bargain , as well as Fresh Fruit and Veg and lots of food outlet choices. The best days to shop for fruit and veg from the market are Thursday, Friday and Saturday. On Sundays you have the farmers market too for your organic produce as well as food stalls with a variety of world foods cooked fresh.

I have a regular stall I go to, really nice man and his son. Always find a bargain. Picked up few things for Eid. The market is back to normal and people are out and about. Bit busy but not to crowded. Maybe because it was raining. 🤷

One of the best markets in London, l believe its the longest market in Europe 👍this market caters for anyone who likes a real old school market,( you must check out the Sunday Market which is different from the week day Market) there are some of the best coffee bars with some great local pubs located in the market, these types of local markets are rare and need to be supported, there is a new type of trendy market taking over lots of London Boroughs which cater for the trendy people with deep pockets, but this market blow them away with it original feel and great local atmosphere l will keep on supporting it.

Very good market, plenty of parking available. Fresh fruit and veg stalls, household stuff, clothes etc. It also has the mall and main shops, like opticians, shoes, materials and fabrics , Halifax, Lloyds and Barclays Bank. Fast food shops, chicken n chips, Donner kebabs . So much to see.

I like this market. The products are cheap. It is a distraction walking almost a mile to look for interesting things. I always spend at least £20 here. Parking can be a big problem. Luckily I hold a blue badge.

A lovely market thats being missed. Unfortunately due to Covid only food stalls are open for business, hopefully soon the Market will reopen and Walthamstow Market can be lively once again. Update - Walthamstow Market is due to reopen Tuesday 13th April 2021, although shops will be open on Monday 12th April 2021.

I lived in Walthamstow for 11 years, the last 8 at 3 minutes walk to Walthamstow Market. There is always something to do, from spending all your money in one day to just visiting shops around. Are lots of shops. Sunday is the farmer's day, you'll find homemade products and tasteful. I miss Walthamstow but not the mess around.

A lovely old traditional market that I've been going too since I was a small girl with my mother. Whilst the area has changed quite a great deal, it's fortunate that the market hadn't changed one bit at all.....to me a girl from Bethnal Green who has used a lot of East end markets it's the heart of a place where people all come together! Do also check out Bethnal Green & Roman road markets as well .....I have lots of wonderful memories from these places....

The huge open space in the middle of the small market on both sides of the road is a very nice place to play. I used to come to this market.

It's probably a good market by todays standards but I was born down there nearly 60 years ago and we had a stall down there in my family for fifty years so I remember what it was like, it was a community but the internet and supermarkets have killed, times change mores the pity and that is the reason why I have only rated it 3 stars but all markets are like that to me now.😊

My favourite winter soup will eating at itee island a half caste guy come in the restaurant talking to himselves of cause he not well. And the manages look at me next to him. Worry he bored me. And the manages tell him to go out. I say to the manager it's alright and the manager call him back and stand at a side will the staffs serving customer after they server all the customers the manager give the guy a cup of soup to take home free. I'm so please to see the compassion in the community. And I only eat at small restaurants not about its cheap in fact is healthy and better service and all the restaurants. The fact, you don't get this kind of service is a 5 star restaurant and unhealthy food. And every restaurant I when back the second time its doesn't matter where in London. they remember me. Maybe is my hat. Lol. I only support smaller business not the rich.

Love walthamstow market, travel right across London to get there. Always some fabulous deals to be had from both stalls and the shops. As a keen sewist, walthamstow takes some beating for range of fabrics and notions.

(Translated) This is the local Walthamstow market, where not the tourists come, but the inhabitants. There are a lot of nations in the neighborhood living here: there are many Eastern Europeans, many of us Poles, too, so much so that there is a shop called Lesna Chata, where almost only Polish goods are available, everything is written in Polish. Arab meat shops were interesting to me, where "halal meat" was offered (halal - allowed Islamic food), or even fish shops, where there was a huge selection of fresh seafood as well as freshwater supply. The market itself is very long, spreads over kilometers on High Street, and certainly sells everything from home-made ducks to fresh foods, perfumes, and clothing. I also spoke with local English merchants, and I admit it was difficult for me to understand them, as if they had bitten the end of words. It was very exciting for me to see this kind of people peacefully seeing each other. (Original) Ez a helyi Walthamstow-i piac, ahová bizony nem a turisták jönnek, hanem az itt lakók. A környéken nagyon sok nemzet fiai élnek: sokan vannak a Kelet európaiak, közülünk is a lengyelek főképpen, olyannyira, hogy direkt legyen nevű bolt (Lesna Chata) is van, ahol szinte csak lengyel portéka kapható,minden lengyelül van kiírva. Érdekesek voltak számomra az arab húsboltok, ahol "halal meat"-et kínáltak (halal - az iszlám megengedett ételei), vagy éppen halas boltok, ahol óriási választékban volt friss tengeri-hal, csakúgy mint édesvízi kínálat is. A piac maga nagyon hosszan, kilómétereken terjed a High Streeten, és bizony mindent árulnak: az otthoni használt kacatoktól kezdve, a friss élelmiszerekig, parfümökig, ruházatig. Helyi angol árusokkal is szót váltottam, és bevallom nehezen értettem meg őket, mintha elharapták volna s szavak végét. Számomra nagyon izgalmas volt ez a kavalkád, ennyiféle embert békésen egymás mellett látni.
