A handy little shop, open (mostly) from 7am until 11pm, used regularly by locals, visitors and travellers boarding and alighting the metro system, and trains from the train station. You can enter/exit this Sainsbury's from inside the train station concourse or from the main front of the train station. Most urgent essentials, or treats, can be bought here 🙂👍🏽

Convenient location if you first come to Newcastle by train. Just buy what you need in a second.

Very handy shop towards Haymarket end of Northumberland St with a restricted choice of food items but mainly the essentials and most popular items Good choice of breads Friendly staff and security guard on door Tends to be pricier than some places but balanced by convenience in high footfall area

After my time in the Vietnam War, I needed some place to stay as my house had been destroyed by a drunken demolitionist. Thankfully, the helpful Sainsbury’s employees were here to help. They let me stay in their bins and eat whatever people put in there! How kind. However, unfortunately I got 16 diseases from eating things like a plastic wrapper, out of date cheese and a live dog. This brings my review down to 4 stars. However, they are still very kind and it took me 22 years to realise that they’re actually a corner shop, not a hotel.

Big thank you to the store manager and staff member that were working around ~5:30 pm today! I asked if there was a hot water tap somewhere were I could fill up my pot noodle, and with no hesitation, an employee got permission and took my pot noodle to the back and made it up for me with their office kettle. Northern generosity at it's best! So kind.

Great choice of foods drinks etc for being such a small Sainbury's. The staff were all friendly and helpful.
One star (should be more but not staff/branch fault) was knocked off because of the bags. I went in for a few things before my journey and left my bag with my partner. Plastic bags at the till. I asked for a hessian/jute bag or one of the ones that you fold into itself but they had nothing. It's a plastic bag or nothing! Considering how many 100s of 1000s of people must go in there it's shocking!! Come on Sainbury's sort this out!!

A good selection of meal deal type food snacks and some groceries and fruit and veg.
The layout of the shop could be better and they seem to be understaffed a lot of the time but they're cheaper than Marks and Spencer next door.

Sometimes good experiences and sometimes bad. The self service tills - the way and location of how they're placed is poor and they often don't work properly which isn't good if you're in a hurry. Staff are generally very nice and very helpful though

Very good customer service when I was in here last, I picked up a wrong tray of chicken which was more expensive than I wanted, I asked a member of staff, I think she was called Robbi how to delete it off the self service screen, she did that with a smile, then took my item back for me and returned with one I wanted, proper customer service.

I only went in for a few bits and pieces came out with more than I had anticipated.
Good produce at reasonable prices.

Standard Sainsbury's during the week but can get a bit rowdy later in the evenings and weekends. Staff would benefit from a bit of customer service training but I guess it is probably minimum wage retail, what do you really expect?

Really crowded especially midday no room but managed to get what I needed

Handy spot for Sainsburys with a good selection of food for a local. There are often bargains to be had too.
