Reviews of Sainsbury's
E. J.
Plant Pioneers is a great vegan range from Sainsburys. Decent prices for it too.
Only thing I couldn't find on the shelf was potato salad but found plenty vegan mayo choices so will home make it.
One thing I do wish though: cans of fizzy pop in cardboard boxes not plastic wrapper (and how come mushrooms in a plastic box are cheaper than handpicked ones?)
J. W.
The best local super market ever. Been to different one just don't know how to shop when here, I could shop with my eyes closed and still be able to find what I wanted! Thanks to their's well organised store the stocks or its just because its my favourite shops?
A. S.
The soup is always different and the selection of cakes varies from visit to visit, but everything is always spot on. The perfect cycling reward. No wonder it's always busy.
B. P.
I quite like this store. Never been before. Im an asda shopper but think i might change store's. Heaps of parking.
P. L.
Staff nit very friendly or helpful. But I was able to purchase what in needed.
L. R.
The store was well stocked on the whole with a good range of seasonal Christmas stock plus a wide range of fresh fruit and vegetables too. The store was very diverse and clean too.
Car park was generously large with lots disabled parking. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Prices on the higher side that was to be expected.
m. j.
Staff are pleasant and helpful but the shelves sometimes look like they've been raided . The recent cafe closure is extremely disappointing . Firstly it was downgraded and now its closed for good . A very short sighted decision
a. g.
The bigger... The better! You can find anything you desire here!! New vegan// Free From products coming in weekly or any time they drop!
P. G.
You get almost everything that is there on your list. And they're priced competitively. Also there is adequate parking space.
J. &. B. R.
Just visiting the area, didn't know the shop. Several staff v v helpful each time taking to where I needed to go next. Pleasant experience!
A. U.
Got some lovely lovely clothes here ready for summer hols and home aswell, lovely big shop got absolutely something of everything, love this store, high Heaton branch ,
D. H.
Well not much to say . It's sainsbury! Not quite Aldi but better than Netto
P. J.
Pretty Expensive for a Wk's shop, but nice & not crowded..
Got what I'd usually buy & then some.
Will probably return..
J. N.
A much changed store since my last visit. Grateful to the member of staff who got me to the goods I wanted to purchase.
B.
Heaps better than the ones at Darlington, Sedgefield and West Auckland.....just a bit too far for a weekly shop....shame ours aren't up to the same standard 🥴
K. P.
A big store with lots of facilities including cafe and travel money. Good for vegan food. Queues not too bad. Decent size car park.
N. M. (.
Beautiful shop with absolutely everything I can't believe it even Argos is there how amazing anything you think off on your mind you will find it there ,,,the shop is lovely so clean wonderful I love it,,,,,one love ❤
A. R.
The smart shop scanner is brilliant. It just means I can scan my items and pack them as I continue to shop in store. There are so many good quality items on special offer. Although shopping in this store can make for an expensive trip compared to other supermarkets, if you keep an eye out for these specials, it can save you some money.
Nice staff.
Great refurb of the fashion department.
A. G.
relatively busy fridges and shelves we'll stocked plenty of parking
R. S.
Lots of choice of fresh fruit and veg. Plenty of veggie and vegan options. Expanded clothing section and in-store Argos branch plus Timpson's just outside.
T. V.
The Sainsbury's in High Heaton is very big and has variety of items included. You will get everything you need for your daily routine all under one store.
M. C.
Just went in for milk but found lovely Rye bread and a great little v neck top. Love this store.
D. B.
It's like every other Sainsburys, they do have some nice food and drink etc. But on then expensive side for your basic stuff in comparison to other major supermarkets.
I. L.
Great, and has everything you need, including clothing, toys and home. A little pricey though.
K. T.
Large store stocking pretty much everything. Good household and clothing sections
N. S.
Amazing staff my dad has parkinsons so is a bit flustered the staff know him(routine) and if I visit with out him they always ask nice little touch goes along way
D. D.
Why can I say . Huge supermarket , loads of choice , fairly competitive pricing.
Habitat concession has now closed and is part of Sainsbury's / Argos now.
Fresh meat counter has closed and is now replaced with a sushi counter . Strange .
Plenty of parking and petrol station on site . .
P. L.
Staff at Sainsbury’s went over and above all my expectations when they stepped in to help me on Saturday. Another supermarket had failed to deliver an order for party food an hour before 40 people were due to arrive for a special party and said they could do nothing to help. Kirsty and Niamh at Sainsbury’s saved the day , also donating pizzas and cake too.
Such kindness, generosity and willingness to help was incredible. Thank you.
H. S.
Big parking space , all nice quality product, you can find anything you want there...
J. M. M.
As well as my normal grocery shopping, I went to buy some long sleeved shirts. I was very disappointed to only have the choice of 2 in my size, 15 collar. I bought both but certainly would expect to have a bigger choice of shirts. The men's clothing choice was very limited ☹️
j.
Really nice store. Big isles and the fruit and veg section is lovely. Super friendly staff. I sent a tub of tomato soup flying and I went all over the floor and the member of staff who helped me was super nice about it.
M. G.
Well-stocked
Staff very friendly
Clean and tidy
R. G.
Great experience. I just relocated to Newcastle and it was beginning to seem that the friendliness people were talking about that the place has was a mirage, but my visit to Sainsbury changed that for me.
i. b.
Good range of quality products, helpful staff, good parking facilities.
G. M.
Great place for shopping....decent selections but few too many depleted shelves
c. r.
Stopped here for fuel, air and a sandwich, very friendly polite staff.
E. B.
Very clean nice staff good selection of goods plenyy car parking
J. W.
Lots of parking. Argos and habitat are also there plus a restaurant. Well laid out store. Petrol garage also there with a Costa machine inside
J. 1.
Half the shelves were empty, I'm aware of the pingdemic and lorry driver issues. So some of the products I went in for I had to go elsewhere for.
Most of the time I can get in relatively easily, get what I want, and checkout with a staff member fairly easily. They seem to have too many self checkouts here which I always avoid as much as I can, probably due to student accommodation nearby.
E. W.
Superb customer service, generous attitude towards our local community. A great store.
V. S.
Went to cafe and had omelete and chips. Friendly service and lovely food. I have been back sice then and now Vegan. Sainsburys has the best and varied vegan selection I have seen. Some a little bit costly but worth it.
K. H.
Always find what i want, clean store and helpful staff
T. F.
A great place for your shopping
Plus a nice restaurant
g. w.
Click and collect was perfect no.problems what so ever will definitely use it again.A well stocked shop too .A pity the cafe has now shut indefinitely
A. L.
Good for weekly shop. Fruit very fresh
L.
Large, well stocked supermarket. The staff are really friendly and accommodating and there's always help at hand. It's definitely worth a visit if you've not been before.
Good COVID measures in place ....
a. C.
Not to bad more xpensive then most soupermarkets and did not stock everything I was after but the petrol is normaly cheeper there
C. T.
Its a supermarket
you can buy lots of things here :)
K. B.
Love Sainsburys. My daughter refuses to go in with me as when we go for sushi, we end up coming out with loads of bargains and clothes. Tu clothes are lovely. Plus the staff are really friendly
A. T.
Iight spacious, really enjoy the cafe area didn't really want to leave , lovely to be able to see outside while inside
J. S.
This Sainsburys is a great size, it has a cafe upstairs, a decent clothes section on the ground floor and a smaller home where part.
The supermarket section has pretty much everything you will need including a world food area and a gluten free section.
J. Y.
It was ok at Sainsbury today around 4 o'clock on a Friday. Pretty quite though that's not at all unusual. Sometimes the echoes are a bit eerie haha. I was passing and I know they sell their own brand Morrocan dry black olives which I love and are also great in Morrocan and lots of other Mediterranean cooking. Delicious just on their own. Haven't found anywhere else in the Newcastle area that sells them.
And..... I also stocked up on Heinz Curry Sauce. Another hard to find item.
Well done Sainsbury ✔✔✔
G. P.
Spot on bunch of people from the office to the workshop and instructors.
MOT, repairs, motorcycle training.
They care
D. P.
Great Supermarket, great quality, good prices.
J. B.
This is a really large Sainsbury's so it has a great selection of everything
B. V.
Very systematic arrangement for groceries... like the pizza and garlic bread section. Nice options in bakery... also, good collection of Gin. Liked the bread section as well. Many varieties of olives. Love to see okra(lady fingers) in this store along will small size egg plant (aubergines) which is good to make stuffed Indian curry bhaji.
R. B.
Meh! Sometimes you can find what you want and other times I get totally lost. No idea why.
T. S. M.
Great quality of food at reasonable prices. Plenty of other good deals too. Love the women's fashion @ Tu.
L. F.
Great roomy store which also has an Argos franchise inside...lovely well trained staff that will go out of their way to help!... There is also a cobbler next to the entrance so it's handy to drop your shoes in then collect when you finish your shopping, they also cut keys.
S.
The best part of shopping today was hearing the manager on the tannoy congratulating his staff on how hard they were working . well done Sainsbury's. :)
I do enjoy shopping at sainsbury's in Heaton Newcastle always clean well stocked .
l. b.
Good shop unfortunately cafe is closed
J. V.
Was able to get around quickly. Wasn't made to feel like I was getting in the way like in other stores when staff are restocking shelves. Also friendly helpful staff when collecting the series x
D. L.
Some good bargains if you take time to look
A. P.
Just 1 of the best local shops to have! Inside you have argos and a clothing aisle and is just SO BIG!!! Love this little shop as you also have a little cafe there so u can have breakfast, lunch or dinner on the go! If ur a local, highly recommend this shop!!! (You also have a little place to cut ur keys😁)
L. L.
Best veggie range in any of 5he top supermarkets
S. M.
My favourtie shop of all time. Great discount and great prices. They always got what I need and since i went vegan their vegan products is also huge to choose from so will reccomend
A. B.
Good customer service from the staff. 5/5 for customer service. The product range is obviously limited by store size, however Sainsbury's own brand products are good value for money and of higher quality than other retailers. 4/5. Overall 4.5 👍
H. M.
Love shopping here. Aisles lovely and wide. Choice of fruit and veg excellent. This place isn't the cheapest but quality and freshness of produce cannot be faulted
R. H.
Friendly service. Clean tidy store
S. E.
Very helpful staff.
Didn't have the 1 item I was looking for but one of the ladies there took me around and looked with me, instead of just leaving me do it for myself, which was nice of her, especially when they're so busy due to Christmas coming up.
C. M.
İ like Sainsbury's and you can find all kinds of things in the High Heaton Branch. We came in for Easter Cards and left with a kettle and a few other things. There are special offers to be had, as long as you are happy to try other brands. At the moment there is a whole wall of ladies clothing reduced and T- shirts for men too. İt was busy, but no queue to get in, but not crazy and most people were shopping alone. There are a few hand sanitizer stands placed around the store. The only down side was that there were some empty shelves and cardboard trays on the floor. İ like a neat store, but so also know how hard it is to keep a large store full. We were happy with our shop and İ will pop in again, even if only for the large Fruit and Nut Easter egg, with Fruit and Nut in the shell. Great..
T. A.
Small but well stocked. Very helpful staff
d. h.
Good option to pick up argos orders
P. G.
Great produce and variety of product. Store trying to be Covid safe but could improve by having directional arrows on aisles and reinstating the large self-service tills (just removed the 4 big tills) as it is impossible to stay 2m away from other shoppers. Shame some shoppers (and some of the staff!) don't know how far 2 metres is though.
S. M.
I like the in-store baked bread, you pay a little more but it's well worth it in taste.
Always safe distance be customer's can be had.
Shelves restocked during the day.
D. M.
A new aisle with products from Asia, Africa and Caribbean plus more
R. C.
Love the shop nice helpful friendly staff much better than asda and Morrisons in byker
C. S.
Very big supermarket but with hit & miss stock levels
C. P.
My favourite supermarket in Newcastle .
Friendly staff
Super clean
Gave me a mask when I forgot mine !
Helpful at the check out
Great range of food
Lovely homeware section
Big car park
I also like being able to use my phone to scan and check out with the app .
S. 3.
Children sale wasn't up to much it could have been better.
A. D.
I love the shop but it’s unbearably cold in winter.
S. W. B.
Now this super market really looks after the customer during the pandemic. In one door and exit by another, cleaning materials on the way in and out and plastic shield around check outs. I a place to feel safe shopping in
Bill brown
M. U.
Awesome shop for fresh food, everyday essential groceries. Also outlet like Argos, Habitat, Travel Money, Pharmacy and Fuel station.
P. D.
All you want under one roof!(almost everything is available in thier store.)
If not all, though almost all! With Pocket-friendly rates.!
F. B.
Big store easy parking loads of variety even got an argos, and cafe washrooms as well
A.
Despite ringing beforehand to check, there was not one item of hot food on the hot food counter. I'd made a special trip there this morning, thinking that I would support Sainsbury's for a change, but left without doing my shopping, owing to hunger pangs! Despite this, member of staff, Helen, was most helpful, so thank you to her.
J. B.
A PLEASURE.
I choose a trolley from the bay,
(all freshly cleaned I have to say!)
I cleanse my hands a little while,
then greeted by a warming smile...
I stroll relaxed to start my shop,
how Sainsbury's is so hard to top.
Berries packed with tang and zing,
and fyffs Banana (just the thing)
Then humble lettuce,soft and round,
the best of anywhere I've found.
A freshly made cheesy baguette,
and lunch today is almost set.
Some vintage cheddar, caramelised
and Sainsbury's ham is well advised.
Some Shwepps Pink tonic for my gin,
and whole nut chocolate for my sins.
Then there in the cheese cake aisle,
I pondered for the longest while.
Then on a whim my choice is made,
St Clemence Lemon makes the grade.
I feel that praises should be sung,
tang danced a jig upon my tongue.
Then to the checkout ,task complete,
a smiling face waits there to greet.
Just like those many times before,
always a pleasure, far from a chore.

I'd recommend this Sainsbury's, it's a large store and has a lot in it varying from a makeup section, deli counter and a sushi counter too, there is also a small argos inside
There are also electric car charging points, which I think is positive as not a lot of supermarkets in the area have these
r. h. (.
Called in to use Argos and decided to have a coffee and scones witch was lovely only gripe was the seating .went to sit down on the settees and the floor looked like it had not been cleaned for sometime old bits of food and dust so moved to table with chairs shame really as the coffee was really nice as was the scone jam and cream every ware else was clean hope it's a one of
R. H.
This is my local supermarket and I like it. Big enough to have what you want. But not so big as to be annoying. Parking is good. Rush hour can be hard to get out though. You can park for 3 hours I think. Shop is light and airy with wide isle's.
j. f.
It's over priced but u don't have much choice
D. M.
Standard Sainsbury’s really, though much larger! Great for a discount and has a good selected of pizzas. Good in the evening to get the reduced items!
J. H.
As ever, shopping at Sainsbury's is a great experience from the quality and range of products/ produce to the
kindness of staff. Today , Sunday I arrived just before closing but the staff got items for me to save time and the checkout girl was so pleasant and patient. What's not to like about shopping at Sainsbury's.
g.
Been a number of times during the outbreak, the queues can be long but move at a reasonable pace, ten minutes for two lengths of their set-up. They have everything you need, them days of greed for toilet rolls have past. The only thing not open of course is the counter service sections but most items you can find on the refrigerated areas.
t. b.
Nice spacious shop even when busy. The only problem is they have built for people with cars you have to appreciate a lot of older people and young havent got cars and it is quite awalk to the bus stop.my opinion is they should have built it nearer the road.i have a car so I am not biased to motorists
N. D.
Clean tidy good layout staff friendly and helpful
J. D.
Love Sainsbury,s was my go to shop when I worked in the High Heaton area, now I'm retired I can go whenever I want......love the ladies and baby clothes section ......💚💚
C. T.
Great shopping on line I have a collection time of 13-14:00 today let's see if it all correct 😊
R. G.
Sainsbury's has always been my go to place as its near to my house. They have good variety of products and things are rarely out of stock.
L. M.
Nice roomy, bright and clean store. Plenty of space between the food isles and nice selection of produce. The deli counter is good too with a very tempting selection of world foods.
The cafe is a nice touch too which offers breakfasts, main meals and snacks.
A. M.
Parking was a bit of a nightmare, the car park is huge but it was still difficult to find a space. Had everything I went in for and had some great offers on so left with alot of stuff I didnt really need but was too cheap not to buy.
E. N.
Great store overall but some of the staff need their eyes testing or something. Got ID'd for ibuprofen... I'm 21. Luckily I had my ID or else I'd have been stuck in pain.
L. R. B.
Like the shop but felt let down over their Covid arrangements, especially lack of stock. I didn't feel comfortable shopping there and didn't feel welcome by the staff as a 75 year old, should have tried harder.
R. W.
Plenty of parking and the covid 19 safety procedures are excellent
The food items are a little more expensive than other shops but nice place to shop
G. B.
Big Sainsbury's with a vast offer of food, toys and home products at a good price. Also has an in-store bakery and an Argos collection point. Outside, there's a huge parking lot and a petrol station. The store is fully wheelchair accessible.
A. F.
Huge you can get everything your heart desires. Reasonable prices and very friendly staff.
P. K.
The only thing with sainsburys I have found is that they have the same product on different shelves with different prices so when you go through checkout they go through at dearest price !!
E. F.
Very nice bright supermarket with lots on offer such as clothes and gadgets. There is also a Habitat inside the store. The Isles are nice and wide and the shop looks really clean with lots of food & drinks to choose from. I found the food items to be mostly more expensive than some supermarkets but some items you will only find in Sainsbury's.
M. H.
Great range of food but NEVER enough tills open. I try to avoid popping in because it takes so long getting through the checkouts. Having said that, Malcolm is ALWAYS exceptionally attentive and helpful.
D. L.
Very caring, friendly and helpful staff, made today's little shopping (3 items) trip wonderful. Thank you.
T. L.
Nice and large. Big open space inside so feels nice to walk around. Also has a habitat store and an Argos. Useful.
M. L.
Decent for another Sainsbury's. Good size free car park with plenty child spaces. It has a cafe, Argos, Habitat, Timpsons I think, currency exchange and they take/send some parcels. Missing post office and sushi counter👍
K. P.
Got everything you need and a few bits more. Cafe, petrol station, Argos, Timpsons cobblers. Great parking.
S. M.
Previously scored lower as I think it's expensive but noticed some more reasonable prices on items price match to Aldi
J. N.
Got free air and water here purchased fuel using the pay at pump facility which are very easy to use, forecourt very clean and the dispensers are well stocked and cheapest fuel in the area. Definitely using again.
S. C.
Some shelves were empty which is always disappointing.
A. B.
Yep - this supermarket is the one in Newcastle! It's a proper jumbo sized place. But actually nicely laid out, nice staff etc...
M. H.
Very nice and clean supermarket. Very friendly staff and a large range of goods on sale. The store has some self service checkouts, fortunately there aren't many, the vast majority of checkouts being manned so you get interaction with real people. Pricing appears to be a bit higher than my local ASDA.
A. P.
Media advised- 8am until 9am for the elderly.
Arrived 7.50am to stand in a long queue waiting to enter store. Noticed folk young and coming out of store laden down with their shopping. Asked a gentleman in the queue what the position was. He informed me store open since 7am, that I should of simply gone into the store. I am in my eighties. Situ' without
any form of communication/information.
J. L.
Staff are always helpful friendly and professional. Shelves are well-stocked although range of items has reduced due to Habitat and Argos taking up space. I've been impressed with the quality of towels and bedding purchased saved me going into a department dtore in Newcastle.
My local store for food, household items and fuel with occasionally a trip up to the cafe.
F. A.
Standard mega market, all major products are found, from food to toiletries to clothing. Clean environment, large car park, many other shops in its environment. Had a bad experience with the person on our till but I guess he was having a bad day
g. m.
If your a man looking for clothes its always unfair that you have to fight all way past the womans clothing only to find that mens could all fit on a postage stamp not enough choice
l. h.
Shopping and petrol is great ptices
M. F. C.
Good range, good prices.
J. F.
Store feels welcoming with wide aisles giving plenty of space for wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
Toilets maintain high standards of store being clean and tidy
C. F.
Pleasant helpful staff.Shame there was limited sizes in most clothes.
P. L.
Great selection and big parking, definitely one of the better supermarkets in the area.
L. B.
Fresh fruits and vegetables are looking sad, don’t know what’s going on. Sainsbury’s is not alone here, as M&S are as bad.
D. D.
I there almost every 2nd day
N. C.
All you need in 1 shop, clean , and its got an argos petrol staion and coffee shop , all good
K. B.
As sainsburys go.. This is a really good one.. It does smart shop.. Its really good with the socially distancing. It has an argos, great staff. A wide selection of goods, including a good pharmacy section.. In addition, the aisles are nicely laid out. Don't get me wrong. It's still a sainsburys, and if you don't like sainsburys this won't change your mind, but if you do. It's a good one!!
A. J.
Great choice and a lot calmer than M&S
S. D.
Great store in a great location. They always have every thing I need and you can get some good reduced items if you time your visit right. Plus their little cafe serves amazing breakfasts.
C.
Has a better clothing section than other nearby supermarkets, and a decent electronic dept. However, the grocery sections have a little less variety than expected, and the budget (own brand) range of produce is sub par compared with the competition.
D. M.
We use this store even though theres a closer one as theres a wider range of stuff. Clothes department is better, cafe upstairs, and theres an argos and habitat in there too. Only thing that I dont like is the fellas in the car park asking if wed like the car cleaned.
S. D.
Not the cheapest but convenient. Staff are helpful. Shelves usually well stocked
D. S.
Friendly service. Reasonable value especially the spuds. The Cherry bakewell slices are great as are the sausage rolls.
A. A.
This store has everything you could possibly need or want. Really well organised, super helpful staff and great spacing that makes it really easy for wheelchair users.
L. K.
Big store with car park (+fuel) to match. Good well signposted range although 'Men's' clothing a bit limited.
A. L.
Great store, friendly staff, love how wide the aisles are very user friendly and accessable for all. The petrol station is great with lots of recycling areas out the back. Also lovely cafe upstairs with a fantastic manager.
G. S.
The store has a nice layout and is pretty big so has most things. The hot counter is great and there is a decent range of wine, beer etc. Overall a good place for shopping, if a little expensive.
K. B.
A very pleasant shopping experience. Pleasant, helpful staff too. A wide variety of goods. All good.
I. S.
Good range of products, the freezer section is the only thing that feels small but ive not yet been without getting what i needed.
Every single time i've visited, without fail, i've had to walk through a cloud of second hand smoke from joe public outside the entrance facing towards timsons. Not a pleasant arrival.
W. S.
Massive supermarket... covid secure... has an Argos and a Habitat... would recommend the orange and mango squash
M. T.
Sainsbury's Benton is a pleasure to shop in. No matter how busy the car park there is plenty of room in the store. Good choice of food and scan and go makes the check out easy.
J. L.
Disappointed that no meals are being served in the cafe
J. B.
Very good all Staff x food a drink etc 👏👏😀
S. W.
Good size shop very clean well stocked shelves has a cafe in for when you have finished shopping you can take a rest and a a bit to eat and drink or just go there for a snack there is a Argos in store to incase you need anything here as well as you shopping plenty of range to choose from staff were friendly when in large car park which is free to park in plus there is a fuel station here as well for your convenience
N. G. u.
Great customer service ,pizza and bakery items smells fresh all time .prices are comparatively good ,the best deal I seen here is great deals on beers and alcohol 😜
J. O.
Nice shop , lots of variety, good selection of clothes. Huge car park and friendly staff
P. K.
It's a great place to shop especially at the moment it's got nice wide aisles good prices and some good deals.
J. R.
Always shop here every week. Staff are so helpful and friendly. Store always well stocked with everything we need.
j. c. (.
Only 2 mins from my house brilliant cafe excellent customer service shame about the parking though 😂😂
f. m.
Good shop everything u need
S. L.
Ots easy to navigate, park and if you shop at Argos, it's great and convfor pick up.
k. w.
Friendly staff, very clean, good parking. Always helpful
D. A.
Nicely laid out. Easy to get around. Nice staff. Good variety. Cheaper than Morrisons.
T. M.
Great supermarket good range of products. Hand sanitizer at the entrance however they could do with sanitizer units at both sides of the entrance rather than having to queue up to use it
j. p.
Not the best experience. Can't get fitting school uniforms. Waist ok, length short, length ok, waist no good. There's big and tall 13 and 14 year olds you know.
Poor arrangement, everything seems to be jumbled up and when I asked staff they pointed to a direction using their chin! Never will I bother again.
J. B.
Great store, well organised, helpful & knowledgeable staff. Always plenty of parking too
A. A.
A supermarket literally, you will find great prices and high quality products, there are items for the whole house, from crockery to garden items. all food items variety, I recommend is the service is great.
K. S.
Excellent store in my area, you get everything from groceries, clothes, footwear etc and even electronics in the Argos inside too!
c. m.
Very big in area, but less in items.
Especially less in veggies and spices.
D. B.
Very surprised at how low the prices were. Staff were brilliant and helpful. Plenty of stock on all the shelves and a amazing amount of special offers available
G. W.
Sainsbury's itself is great but really don't see the point in having an Argos inside until today when I went to buy a decent kitchen timer. Unfortunately all their terminals were down so they weren't able to sell anything. I've since gone back to my stance that Argos inside Sainsbury's really is a waste of space.

Huge superstore selling groceries, clothing, homewares, audio. Wide aisles. First floor cafe + loos, accessed by stairs + lift. Petrol, ATM, recycling bins. Timpsons cabin. Argos, Habitat now in store. Lots of parking.
L. l.
Very good for shopping at sainsbury's. Good for value and cheap bargains, friendly staff nice store. 👍

r. e.
Staff always helpful , Sainsbury's quality good as ever .

Fantastic service in the Argos, speedy and polite.
The service and politeness got even better at the till in the Sainsbury's. I hope the girl who served me has an amazing day!
A. S.
First time visiter to pick up a few things from argos, impressed with layout and what was available, generally I shop at a competitor, will definelty return to have a proper look around in there home section..
J. R.

Sainsbury's Benton Upstairs Disabled toilet review
For the first review I'll talk about a toilet very near and dear to my heart, the Sainsbury's disabled toilet in Benton, Newcastle. I go to this toilet nearly every day and it is usually a pleasant experience, however it can occasionally be very unpleasant.
location:
The location of this toilet is what is most appealing to me, being just opposite my school and only around a 15 minute walk if you take it easy, this can be a very long walk when desperate, which once led to me considering not using the toilet, and using a garden along the way instead, I did make it to the toilet though and I'm very glad I did, as the alternative would have likely ended badly
atmosphere:
The atmosphere of this toilet is possibly the worst thing about it, being in the Sainsbury's cafe, the elderly often attempt to use the toilet at which I frequent, luckily I am faster than them, so rarely miss out on the use of the toilet, however once you're in, that doesn't mean you're safe, twice I have been talked at for taking my time. Once it was by a woman whom frequently shouted 'you knew I was going there' ...i never, but that woman was very annoying. The second time a man was waiting and shouting for me to hurry up, I did as much as I could, but on that day there was no toilet roll, and when I left the toilet to go to another, I discovered the man had, indeed, shat all over the floor, not a good day.
Overall:
Overall this is a very good toilet and mostly peaceful, it has it's flaws but it more than makes up for it with it's perks, being attached to Sainsbury's helps, as I can get my Lunch after finishing my business. All things considered, this toilet achieves a 3.55/5
D. H.
Very good, staff well organised and visible due to green vests. Social distancing measures actively practiced.
D. M.
I mostly enjoy looking at the clothes and house stuff. I don't live near this shop so don't know my way around. Staff are helpful when shopping for electronics stuff. Clothes are good quality.
P. M.
Don't use often but ok helpful staff
M. C.
Just love shopping here the spacious store offers me all I need in my shopping requirements. Especially the staff who are exceptional and professional in their work.
C. R.
Love shopping at Sainsbury although I always spend more than expected as there is so much choice. Store well set out and very spacious. Nice cafe and friendly helpful staff.
H. H.
Everything you need in one place and a good selection of everything. Friendly and helpful members of staff.
A. N.
Food and clothes and kitchen stuff. Loads of parking, not many charvas either.
Nice and airy. A good Sainsbury's!
B. J.
Sainsbury's value range is poor in my opinion. In terms of cost comparison across all ranges, they seem to be a fair bit more expensive than Asda,Tesco, or Aldi. Aldi in my opinion cannot be beat on quality and price and is continuously improving its provision to the British market.
r. m.
I'm sick of Google asking me about Sainsbury's when I've been to do my monthly shop and any top up shops Inbetween! It's Sainsbury's, what else does Google need to know? Can't they just use their web page called Google and 'Google' Sainsbury's?
L. P.
Has just about anything you'd want in a big supermarket. Besides good quality food and drink items to purchase it has bakery, buthcers, deli and fishmonger counters plus the hot food is great and the hot pizzas are excellent! There a cafe which is very child friendly. Plus you'll find clothing, homeware and general house items. On top of that there is an Argos, Habitat and Timpsons on-site. Great place to fuel up if you're collecting Nectar points and there is also a convenient recycling area. An asset to Heaton and the people of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
C. R.
The shelves were quite empty in places and basics such as self raising flour were unobtainable. The staff though are friendly and helpful.
H. S.
Good store lots of choice. Quality products.
P. T.
Best supermarket by miles.
M. M.
Went for lunch - tomato soup and bread. Soup nice and hot and full of flavour. Good price £5 plus mug of tea.
c. w.
Large shop, with everything you need. Helpful and friendly staff, always doing there best to help you
J. M.
The clothing range is great and the supermarket itself is big enough without being too big that you would get lost. The cafe is great if you need a little break.
C. L.
Went in here tonight looking for a few specialist ingredients to make Teriyaki chicken balls that were listed on the Sainsbury's website. I had to ask one of the staff members if they had them in stock, but unfortunately they didn't (chicken mince and Mirin). That said, the member of staff I spoke to was very friendly and went out of his way to help me. Nice to know that there's still people out there like that.
j. f.
Superb Sainsburys as far as Sainsburys go
R. A.
A nice store with a wide collection of suff. Though if you can't find something you won't find a lot of help finding it as there is limited staff around.
B. M.
Excellent delivery service from the onset of the pandemic, we will continue shopping with Sainsburys.
M. H.
Visit this store every other day with my client u can get everything u need and the staff are lovely too
P. J.
Great store, went 8am, nice and quiet, got all we needed, covid secure and staff very friendly and helpful 👍
R. C.
Love the shop lovely staff it's miles better in asda byker
G. W.
It's an English supermarket if you want something more exotic go to a good French one.
h.
Sainsbury's High Heaton is weird because the majority of the staff are very much middle age plus, sometimes this can be good, but in this case not so good the staff are not attentive or welcoming in fact listen to them whining at each other about their lives is quite irritating because they talk so loud. The range of goods is ok but their prices as usual not competitive with Tesco's or Morrison and the nectar points bonuses are really a joke better to knock the pennies off the stock than hope someone will buy the less desirable goods.
M. R.
Sainsbury was okay, got what I wanted but absolutely no social distancing. I was a bit guilty of that myself but I tried to keep my distance as best I could
N. G.
Sainsburys is always clean and rhe staff are helpful and friendly.
J. G.
Love sainburys you can everything you need in one shop.
K. B.
Little pricey but it has everything, it's big store here...
F. A.
One of the Sainsbury's supermarkets, has alot of facilities. Easy access from A1058, has a petrol station, hot and cold food, clothes, medicines as well as the usual groceries
G. C.
Its a well laid out supermarket they stock a wide range of grocerys and its very accessible by car
J. N.
Nice big shop. Lots to see and browse. Clean and well maintained. Best public toilets I've seen in a while. :)
J. P.
Great clothing selection at very reasonable prices.
a. 7.
Cafe disappointing
Two members of staff now really interested in serving breakfast meal
G. W.
Not the cheapest of supermarkets, but well stocked and roomy. Big contributers to the Conservative Party. Large, free car park. Cafe available in most stores.
S. P.
Busy today . Not enough checkouts open . Queue at fast checkout long . Need to limit that checkout to less than 10 items . Hace checkouts baskets only .if you get stuck behind 2 trolleys with a small basket you wait ages . No one on pharmacy counter 15 minute wait for one item ! All in all so so
V. P. E.
Staff are very friendly , fresh and quality items with bargain price. Loved it ...
l. d.
Great for quick visit, lots of essentials.
W. B.
Very clean and spacious. Lots of variety but cam be much pricier than other well known supermarkets
j. d.
Good shop for clothes and food shopping.
S. K.
Expensive compared to others, but this store is clean and nicely laid out. The car park is arkward to navigate and could do with more spaces.
M. A. H.
Excellent store. Huge variety of goods in all deptments. Nice friendly staff. Will definitely shop there again.
D. M.
The first supermarket that i have found that has suitable motorbike parking
J. G.
Have to say I love this store as I have been working there for 5 years. Hence though not for Sainsburys but as a food sampler for a marketing company.
R. C.
Good for shopping and groceries pleanty of car parking available
s. s.
Went to sainsburys at Heaton last night around 8pm was looking for specific items of clothing that I had seen on website but couldnt find instore. Clothing assistant looked for both sets checked my photos then went to look out back. When eventually returned she had found the last ones of the items I was looking for! Well done for not just saying everything is out and goin the extra mile to ensure my twin boys are extremely happy on world book day! Didn't get her name but had dark hair thank you!
M. C. S.
Standard UK supermarket. Ample stock of food and supplies, clean store with relatively good staff. Prices are often higher than competition like Asda or Tesco though.
b. c.
Helpful staff, reachable location and vast varieties to buy
R. C.
Store excellent but slowest cafe service in any supermarket I've ever been in. Usually only one member of staff behind counter and usually 10 min wait for a coffee
D. B.
Fantastically spacious, clean, and very helpful staff available who have adjusted to "covid shopping " seamlessly.
O. M.
It has a wide selection of produce and everything is nicely laid out. Overall it’s a pretty decent supermarket.
G. K.
Great store. Ample parking space. Great variety of products.
L. P.
Great Superstore, I love browsing here .
D. P.
Not to bad some staff are crumpy social distancing is good better than other supermarkets.
K. A.
Always good to shop at Sainsbury's
Bright and airy, with good offers and friendly staff
e. D.
As always fresh produce, polite respectful very very helpful staff - a pleasure to shop here
M. S.
Great products.
C. H.
Nice store with plenty of selection. The pizza station is nice. Prices are a bit more expensive but the quality is also a bit better than lets say TESCO.
E. S.
Very expensive compared to your other competitors and basically the same stuff I wouldn't do my weekly shop there
K. J.
Felt safe shopping here great range of items with a Argos too. Nice friendly environment
R. M.
Would help if the staff were not in the way at such a time like this - pretty hard to social distance and avoid people when they are all blocking the aisles
S. B.
because the shop has a good variety of things to buy but it is slow when picking parcels up but their is a new argos and habitat and it is a good shop to shop at
R. A.
The Cramlington branch of Sainsbury’s feels welcoming, and generally supplies us with all of our needs - until crazy people empty the shelves of toilet paper!
s. k.
It's a supermarket that sells stuff. What more is there to add. Can charge EV cars there. Two charging points. That's why only 3 stars
Come on Sainsburys. There should be more. EV bays are nearly always full.
r. m.
If the basket only till was EVER in use it would make shopping so much easier ...it has basically gathered dust and unmanned for at least 3 years ...other than that ...fine
b. w.
Clean big area supermarket much choices good prices well signed. Disabled persons facilities. Friendly staff. Good car parking
R. A.
decent superstore around and will get of the stuff , now-a-days they have added more world food options and clothing line is improved, cafe options are limited and food isnt quick to arrive.

I only popped in to grab a sandwich but the staff were really friendly and polite. Clean and tidy floors and shelves.
S. W.
Huge selection, but click and collect hit and miss, have had issues with collections several times
A. W.
Used the Argos in this branch and the staff and service was superb. Sainsbury's itself is as you'd expect. Excellent service and really friendly, helpful staff
L. G.
Very good. Good variety of food including food from different countries. Friendly staff.
H. B.
Very big store, large selection of clothes (women, children and men) everything you would need in a superstore including a cafe. Fuel station also on site.
A. F. Q. A.
Only downside is I prefer Asda as they always offer to help you pack there and staff are more friendly in Asda also Asda a little cheaper on car various products.
D. D.
Great choice of homeware, food, drinks and other daily needs. A bit expensive but worth it for the variety. Nice little cafe upstairs.
B. F.
Love this Sainsbury's. Staff are helpful. Stock wasn't great this visit but is usually on top form.
J. M.
Very pleased, I was overcharged on Monday night (an offer not gone through on the till), and today went to customer services and was refunded the £3.
J. M.

As always, even in these Covid times, the staff are great and the range of produce as well as can be expected.
E. A.
Breakfast usually great but odd time less than fully cooked. Just don't eat breakfast at the end of their supply hours.

L. P.
I like to shop there but the place is just too big for quick shopping trip...prefer smaller shops
