Reviews of Reading Farmers' Market

Nice and small market that happens twice a month. Lots of great food vendours: fresh veg, wholesale free range eggs, good quality meat, but perhaps the best stall there is Pippin doughnuts. Incredible doughnuts for a very reasonable price. You must try the cinnamon claw. Make sure to get there earlyish otherwise they will have most likely run out of them!

Small local farmers market selling fruits, vegetables, meat, seafood, eggs, cheese, coffee, bread & mushroom on 1st & 3rd week Saturday.

Great range of vendors, most very local, a few a bit further afield. Stall-holders were very friendly and the venue is spacious so it wasn't crowded. Dog-friendly. We bought fresh apples, pastries, desserts and eggs but many more options available. Happens twice a month and they apparently release which vendors will be there beforehand so you have an idea.

Great variety of different food types, but the absolute winners for me are Pippin Doughnuts and the pasteis de nata from Tuga Pastries. Cannot get enough of those, highly recommend! Another shout out to Beechwood Farm eggs, best eggs I've ever had.

Great stalls and very friendly stall holders which is held 1st and 3rd Sat of the month at great knolley Street cattle market side. It is covered over and toilet facilities are available. Brookleas farm attend with their gorgeous trout fresh and smoked, Eadles farm (their meat is so flavoursome!!!) and fresh fish of all types from the guys from Chichester. Then you have cheese, breads, fruits, veg, cider and beer producers and the list goes on. Highly recommended!

Good selection of vendors and a good location that is large enough to comfortably walk about without being crammed with many people.

You have to visit, very good stalls like Daise's Kitchen with Portuguese and Brazilian finger food as well as frozen meals ready to take away, Marlow Cheese, and others with wonderful local produce.
A. M. U.
Great variety of high quality local farmer's products. Meat, fish, vegetables, cheese, honey, eggs, pastries, coffee,... There's something for anyone, and surprisingly cheap for the value!
C. C.
Great market selling mostly locally produced food.
As well as a few veg stalls, there is also a few meat counters, cider, wine, chilli sauces, fresh bread and donuts, coffee, tea, eggs, fish and shellfish, South American snacks etc, Indian fresh food.
You will never leave here empty handed.
Pay and display parking 1 min walk away. cycle parking in market.
Well recommend

Great market! Nice variety of stalls selling fruit /veg/baked goods/alcohol/cheese/meat/fish/coffee. All the stall holders have card machines so no need for cash either. I'll definitely be back!

Really good turn out this week.. excellent cheese stall and meat stalls
J. J.
Great for all kinds of stuff from basic veg to cakes and treats.
It isn't huge but the regular stalls are all good and there are often new things on offer as well

A great market with lots of variety. The quality of produces are fresh too! It’s not a huge market and normally 20-30 mins trip would get what you needed.
P. R.
Always go for the eggs and cheese. Veg is good and in-season fruit is always worth buying.
There is almost always something else wanting to be bought. If you’re regular you get to be known and they never let you leave anything behind.
C. C.
Amazing fresh, local produce on offer. Will visit again for sure!

Fish, cheese, meat, vegetables, pies, beer, Asian food, eggs, tea, coffee, doughnuts, cake, gin, fruit, wine etc.

Top quality produce all around. We use this in all our home made food, and is very often more satisfying than restaurant food. Would recommend this always, even if you're only visiting
A.
Not too many produces and choice of goods to buy
R. S.
It is a really good food event, with lovely eggs, cheese, bread and more sold, things you cannot easily get in shops. The market is however not much advertised in Reading (like everything else unfortunately), and much more customers could find out about it and buy nice, healthy food there.
J. M.
Yep, this place is great! Thought the banter would be a bit more enticing though, quite dull. Other than that, cannot fault the food. Great.
M. C.
Lovely market with wonderful produce, fish, meats, and many more things, like bread, baked goods (even a vegan patisserie!), coffee, cider, beers. Don't miss it!
