N. P.Just want to say a big thank you to the Zip Yard… dropped by a dress for a friends wedding on Saturday for alterations and had it back on Wednesday. Perfect fit, so much better. Friendly service and quick turnaround. Will definitely be back!
M. R.This shop had already became my go to place for miscellaneous sewing needs in Glasgow. Today they really went above and beyond though. Had a garment where a small bit of critical stitching failed on my first ware. I tried to quick fix myself but to no avail. The lady behind the counter heard my story, looked at the garment, and then fixed it on the spot for me - for free! Among other things such kindness truly made my day. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ is not enough!
R. S.I love this gem of a place. Have used it several times for various alterations. All staff’s work is first class but I have to give a massive shout out to Diyar who has worked his magic on my son’s work trousers. They had to be taken up, taken in the whole length of the leg and the cargo pockets had to stay in place! What a terrific job this polite, friendly and very mannerly young man has done. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Zip Yard and also Diyar.

I was expecting them to take a couple of days and i got the text to say the alterations were complete before i had even driven away! All the staff were very friendly - would highly recommend. H. B.Excellent service - took in the waists of two pairs of shorts for me and the alterations were virtually invisible. Cost about £13 per garment which I thought was very reasonable and the staff were lovely. Couple of changing cubicles available so they can pin garments to fit you before getting started. I got my clothes back one week after handing them in but you can get a faster service for a small extra fee.

A.They repaired a much loved pair of heavy curtains with triple pleats askew and torn stained lining, creatively matching the lining so that the repair was simpler and cheaper than it might have been, and all looks good as new.

Contacted James via email about my broken zip on my one piece racing suit and straight away told me wouldn’t be a problem drop it off on the Saturday as this suited me and would be ready Thursday. The suit was actually ready Wednesday and the new zip is night and day compared to the original and was all done for £35 which is great value for money I’ll be recommending James and his team to many a biker friend.

I. H.Cannot thank the staff enough. Bought a dress for my daughter's wedding that needed taken up at the shoulders. Took it to a local alteration shop who simply ran a seem across the top and down the sleeve. Shocked when it was returned is an understatement. Was adviced to try here and I was amazed at how they managed to make the dress look gorgeous again. The sesmstesses here really know their trade. Thank you some much for resolving what could have been an expensive and stressful issue. Would definitely use again and recommend.

From the very outset, James at Zip Yard was nothing short of professional.
I was quoted a competitive price for the work to be carried out and as promised, I received a text a few days later stating that the garments were ready for collection.
I should add that my on mother was a seamstress and I know a good job when I see it.
The work carried out by Zip Yard was exceptionally high. Great doing business with this company.

M.I walked into the zip yard with a dress that I thought didn't stand a chance at being fixed, it was six sizes too small and was made with very fine and intricate materials that I had never seen before. The staff in the zip yard saw how heartbroken I was over my dress and it's state and promised me that they would do everything they could to try and make it better, they did that and so much more. One of the ladies who dealt with my dress actually went out of her way to travel to go and buy the exact materials to make sure that my dress would be fixed and ready for my prom night. I can't thank the zip yard Enough for all of their hard work and dedication to their customers. They've made a dress that I once hated Into a work of art, relieved tonnes of stress and made me feel like an absolute princess in my prom dress. I will definitely be going back for any alterations and will be recommending them to anyone and everyone who ever needs clothing fixed. These guys truly are fantastic at what they do!
B. L.Had my motorcycle leathers altered, as the zips didn't match to join the jacket and trousers together. Brilliant job, the new zips are sturdy and the seams are strong. The original zips would have made the leathers too tight if they did match, as the jacket and trousers are different kinds. The new zips were sewn in giving me more room and the leathers fit perfectly.

D.I cannot recommend the zip yard enough. a few years ago i bought schott perfecto leather jacket and babied it ever since. to my horror, i took it out of the wardrobe a week ago and noticed that there was a 2 inch tear above the left pocket. i could have honestly cried. i think i had caught it when putting my purse in it. i googled 'leather repairs glasgow' half-heartedly because i truly thought my jacket was knackered and i'd need to just buy another one.
i found the zip yard, but didn't bother reading any reviews because i honestly thought no-one could fix it.
i took it into the shop and the guy on the counter was brilliant. he weighed up what needed to be done and then spoke with one of the ladies in the back...he explained they would restitch and strengthen the pocket, whilst gluing and patching the tear. in all it would be £20 and would take a week.
anyway, i collected the jacket monday just passed and i am in awe of what they've done. it's gone from a noticeable tear which would only have gotten worse...to ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! it just looks like a slight wrinkle in the leather...that i have to hold under the light to see. it's unreal what they've done.
i cannot recommend them highly enough or thank them for what they've done. added to that, they must have cleaned and nourished the leather as well, because it looks brand new.

s.I recently bought a Northface Goretex jacket worth an outrageous £210 for the ridiculous price of £25 on Glasgow Gumtree from a seller who was having a bit of a clear out,The deal seemed too good to be true,and it was,to a certain extent.The jacket was hardly worn at all,and came complete with the fleece inner jacket and detachable hood and was clean and fitted me properly,The only downside was that the main zip was broken beyond repair.Of course I bought it anyway,then set about tracking down a reputable company to replace the zip,This is where the zip yard and yelp come into play.Having read the good reviews by past customers i decided to give them a try,The staff were very friendly and proffesional from the word go,the shop was easy to find,and the prices were really reasonable to be honest.I dropped the jacket off last this on monday evening and recieved a text telling me the jacket was complete and had passed quality control on wednesday afternoon.A whole 24 hours before it was supposed to be completed.Having now collected the jacket,just in time for this fine winter weather,I can confirm the zip yard does excellent work to a very high standard and my new favourite jacket lives to fight another winter.And best of all,The zip yard only charged me £20 for their troubles.Im very happy to recommend them to anyone out there looking for repairs or alterations.
