A. B.I buy all my clothes on line, work suits , day wear and evening wear. I love clothes so I buy a lot.
Most things need altering as I have a big bust.I have been using the Barnes sewing room for nearly 5 yrs now and go there on average at least once a fortnight to take alterations. The girls are nothing other than brilliant - always do a splendid job, prices compared to central London are very reasonable. A bit more than local dry cleaner but the work is of high quality and identical to original item so no alteration work is visible at all. Very skilled work. Have recommended a lot of my friends who are now going. Would highly recommend.
L. B.I discovered The Barnes Sewing Room in April this year when in need of adjusting a dress I had bought for a friends wedding. The dress was quite an investment but needed a bit of tailoring to make it fit me perfectly. The length and waist needed some alteration. The ladies did a fantastic job and I was so happy I had two more dresses made by them for other occasions. Would highly recommend for alterations and as dressmakers.
G. T.I take all of my alterations to The Barnes Sewing Room. The staff are courteous, knowledgable and do an excellent job. They made me a beautiful jacket. Prices are very reasonable. I can highly recommend both their staff and their services. I am amazed at a couple of overly negative reviews that appear to be unnecessarily nasty, and in no way are representative of my experience. I have my own company and I am more than aware of how a spiteful review can damage a business. I have been coming here for years as have my friends and colleagues, and I will continue to do so.
I. F.What a wonderful find - it’s a bit hard to locate - as the Barnes sewing room is tucked away behind the shops on church road but when you get in there it is a complete treasure trove of fabrics and clothes. I love being in the studio part.
The ladies have worked wonders on quite a few of my dresses as I have lost over two stone in the last year and needed my good clothes to be taken in and reshaped. As I buy designer brands I was slightly worried but no need the work has been excellent and I’m back wearing my favourite clothes .
I have also had them make me a silk ball gown for a September function. It fits perfectly and just what I wanted. Very tailored. I was told that if I lose more weight it can be altered to fit me again.

C. W.We have had a number of items altered and repaired at the Barnes Sewing Room over the last few years and have always found them to be very friendly, helpful and professionally skilled. For example a twenty year old jacket which was a real favourite had become worn on the edges of the cuffs and the zip had stopped working. After a visit to the BSR it came back on time as good as new. Well worth the reasonable fee that was charged.
