Ros & Helen at Sew n Sews were very helpful when suggesting and carrying out appropriate alterations to a bridesmaid I will be wearing for a friends wedding. The did a top quality job of sewing up a slit in the chest area that involved altering into the waistband of the dress, adjusting the halter neckline to sit perfectly on my collar bones, and took up the pleated hem and inner lining. They described their methods meticulously so that I could truly understand the cost involved in what they needed to do, plus they were open to altering things in a more affordable way, but explaining that just top-stitching some seams would not give me the best result. So i chose the more thorough and robust options for a slightly higher cost, and it was worth it. I highly recommend their expertise.

Deciding to write a review just in case it helps someone. I always find it very stressful to risk my garments by having them altered (had a £150 dress botched up before for what should have been a simple hemming job). Sews n Sews did a good job on my dress although it was a simple job. Would be 5/5 stars but knocking one star off as I asked for a raw overlocked edge (noted and written on instructions). The seamstress didn't follow the instructions but the garment still looked great and no harm was done. She probably didn't follow the instructions because it's a bit weird and she probably thought it looked better this way, which may be true :) Would recommend and return back to this place for future alternations.
