I had an old alloy wheel, off of a classic 1978 Mini, that had developed a leak in the metal between the rims. The fella that subsequently did some neat TIG welding cut back the area of honeycomb where the porosity was, and put a fillet back in from both sides to effectively bridge the area of the hole/rot. Good value for money.
Nice coffee and a really well set out lounge, deep cockpit leather armchairs and a very professional level of customer care.
Please take into consideration TIG welding is a far more costly (and technically more challenging) process than TIG and it requires better preparation of the work piece, TIG welders are more expensive too! So make sure you are happy with the minimum price for doing any TIG'ing even before an arc is struck.....
Unless your damaged component is inexpensive, repair is usually well worth it: cost up the time and effort to get hold of a new part, its cost, along with the time of refitting it. In my case the cost of another wheel and the fitting valve and balance worked out more than remove tyre, prep & TIG repair the existing rim and refit the tyre.
