We thoroughly enjoyed our Private Food Tour with Skye while in Edinburgh. I appreciated his passion for food, as well as the history and knowledge he shared with us about the city, and where to eat, shop and visit (and where NOT too) for the remained days of our stay. The food portions were plentiful, and we were very full at the end of the tour, no need to book a dinner reservation after! Due to staffing issues, there were some unpredictable closures during our tour, but Skye was quick to execute a back up plan to ensure we tasted all of the Scottish dishes we were hoping to. This is the third city we have done a Secret Food Tour in, and we always book them early into our trip, as the guides are so helpful in planning out the rest of your stay. It was fantastic to benefit from Skye's local knowledge, support independent places, and enjoy some delicious food. The haggis was so much better than we expected (due to the place we had it, we have had bad haggis).
We would highly recommend this tour (and Skye) when visiting Edinburgh. As noted, wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for the walk, Edinburgh is very hilly.

Joined a tour with Bert who was absolutely awesome. Friendly, knowledgeable, charismatic, and beyond welcoming. Our scheduled 3 hour tour went long but he never rushed the tour and seemed to genuinely enjoy showing people the town, history and food he is passionate about. This was my first food tour and it makes me want to seek out secret food tours in every town I go to in the future.

Our first visit to Edinburgh. We booked this tour with Skye as our host. He is so professional and personable. Lavished us with stories about the history of Edinburgh (and Scotland!). The food… you need a Skye to take you through the smorgasbord of restaurants to find the gems. That he did. Highly recommended.

Oliver was wonderful…a born storyteller and enthusiastic about his city, history, culture, and food! I was able to taste so many Scottish foods for the first time…haggis, Cullen skink, Isle of Mull cheddar, Scotch eggs, and Tomatin whiskey. He also gave me many suggestions for places to eat as we passed by various restaurants. I highly recommend this tour and the tour company…professional, enriching, and fun!!

What a wonderful tour! Skye, our guide, gave us a walking tour of the city while stopping at some incredible locations for tasty meals. He was able to accommodate food issues and bring a lot of warmth and excitement to his tour. I will definitely be doing these again!

Oliver was a superb host for our food tasting tour of Edinburgh -- He was knowledgable, witty and shared just the right amount of personal opinions and anecdotes. I want to hang out with his Granny. His experience as a professional baker and his study of linguistics made for a fascinating and often surprising tour. Oliver imparts a heartfelt appreciation of the architecture, history, political struggles (so many wars with England!) along with the food quirks and freaky spookiness of ancient Edinburgh!-- We tasted creamy local cheeses, 2 gelatos, a large bowl of cullen skink (I'm craving a bowl now) with fresh bread and butter, gooey chocolate fudge from a giant wooden spoon, gin and tonic, whiskeys, pastries and perfectly prepared haggis with turnip, potato and a rich brown sauce. Delicious! -- This meant a lot to me as I've recently discovered that my family ethnicity is 65% Scottish. This tour was the perfect way to get an authentic taste of my newfound heritage. -- Fantastic tour, highly recommended! Perfect for early in your visit so you get your footing and gather fantastic food recommendations!

Skye was an excellent tour guide for our Edinburgh trip. Not only is he very knowledgeable about local sights and eating but is also so well traveled he could probably give you recommendations for anywhere! We will be doing more tours in the future, including one in our hometown of Denver.
