Superb location within walking distance of many/most of the tourist 'must sees'. Easily accessed by road, rail or bus. Offers all that you'll need for a self-catered stay, long or short, plus a few thoughtful extras. Quiet at night (passing traffic ceases pretty early), a cosy hideaway at the end of a day exploring Edinburgh and beyond. the place is clean and well maintained. The owner, Susan, was efficient and friendly with excellent communications via email, as well as offering local knowledge when we arrived and making herself readily available if required. A good experience in a beautiful City.

Fantastic location, incredible host. Craigwell has everything you need during your stay in Edinburgh! We thoroughly enjoyed our recent 3 night stay at Craigwell. Located a 2 minute walk from Holyrood and the Royal Mile, there's no need for a car, although there is a space for one if you need. Susan is a fabulous host, and popped in our first afternoon to make sure we had everything we needed, and to give us some advice on local restaurants, sites and shopping. The bedrooms are small, but sufficient. The upstairs living area with large, fully equipped kitchen and laundry, TV and electric fire is a great place to relax and regroup after a morning on the Mile, or an afternoon hiking Arthur's Seat. The cottage, on the site of a former brewery, is located on a cobbled road that is moderately busy with traffic during the day, but there was no nighttime noise to disturb our sleep. A great stay at a better-than-hotel price. Craigwell Cottage comes highly recommended!

We have stayed here every other year for eight years it is a beutyfull cottage it is so well presented spotless and decorated to a very high standard New heating this year very nice you can see sue the owner takes pride in this gem of a place and she is so welcoming when you arrive if you are thinking of booking this place then don't hesitate. ( as long it's not when we want it ) If it's Edinburgh you want then you must stay here location location it's brill for old part and new part it deserves a big 5 star ( sue if your wondering who this is it's the Welsh four rugby surporters booked. Fantastic location to base your stay in Edinbugh. Easy walking distance to the main sights and only a few yards from the Royal Mile, Palace of Holyroodhouse and Scottish Parliament.
