Reviews of Edinburgh Gin Distillery
K. A.
I am a big lover of gin! And this is exactly the place where gin lovers need to go. The distillery has been hidden in the lovely historic basement.
The staff were very welcoming and lovely.
We came and had a glass of classic gin like a warm up starter.
The guide introduced us the bit of gin history and the process of making the gin. He was so funny and really enjoyed every word of the story.
We moved to the another room, where we had 4 gins to try. It was absolutely delicious!
In the end you will get 10% off shopping the gin and the drinks at the bar.
And also emailed 10% off from online Edinburgh gin store, brilliant isn’t it?
The tour was 60mins and the toilets available!

Attended the Cocktails Through the Ages tasting at Edinburgh Gin and had such an incredible time - I would recommend this to absolutely anyone!
The event was hosted by Natasha with help from her colleagues Chloe and Jeni. All three were so lovely, welcoming and put us at ease straight away. Natasha was a fantastic host, giving us lots of information in a fun & engaging way. There was even a little quiz with the chance to win some cool prizes which I loved!
The cocktails themselves were divine, I'm not usually a big fan of negroni's but they converted me at this tasting. There were also fruity cocktails, citrusy cocktails, floral cocktails - you name it, they had it! A real dream for anyone looking to expand their taste and try something new.
The atmosphere Natasha created was phenomenal, my friend and I ended up going to a bar with some of the people we met at the tasting as we were all having such a good time we didn't want the night to end!

I’ve attended more than a few Cocktail events however none as exceptional as the ‘Cocktails Through the Ages’ Event at Edinburgh Gin Distillery
Hosted by Natasha, who was an incredibly engaging, knowledgeable and chilled out host, and supported by Chloe and Jeni who created some amazing cocktails behind the scenes for us, this is a relaxed, fun and thoroughly enjoyable experience for cocktail lovers everywhere!
EXCEPTIONAL COCKTAIL TASTING THAT YOU’LL WANT TO DO AGAIN (AND AGAIN)
The range of cocktails covered opened my eyes to new ways to create a number of classic cocktails.
Will be back for another event without question
Highly recommended

Paid £25 a head for a tasting and felt it was worth it. Adrianna was a great guide and the gin tasted nice, too. Would recommend it if you're a fan of gin.

This is a great experience, learnt a lot in a lovely intimate setting. Chloe was great, very personable and shared a lot of information. Would highly recommended, either with a small group or for couples!
C. B.
My friend and I had an amazing time on Callum’s tasting! He was informative and funny and personable and was the perfect guide for two Americans on our gin tasting journey. The whole experience was super engaging and we would recommend this to anyone looking to discover the world of craft and flavored gin. Plus the whole space feels like a speakeasy/bond film

Wow, what a great day out, we booked a Gin Making Experience and what an experience it was, we were educated in the fine arts of distilling Gin and then given the opportunity, using a selection of botanical and unique flavors to craft our very own bespoke gin.
Once all the ingredients were selected we were given a history lesson the art and uniqueness of Gin and its place in our society. We were then introduced to the micro brewing process and introduced to two working stills.
Meanwhile our own unique concoctions were distilling away, we were then given a selection of Edinburgh Gin's to sample and then the time had come to try our own unique creation and give it's own individual name.
The experience is a great day out for Family, Friends and is value for money, not only do you learn the art of gin making you get a first hand experience of the process it goes through and all the while enjoying many opportunities to indulge in your tipple.
The staff are very good, and clearly have a passion for what they do and the gin they make.
A good day out and well worth the investment of time and money.

Absolutely wonderful tasting session with Emily! Very interesting and delicious selection of gin with funny commentary and insightful guided tasting. Thank you so much!
A. O.
We went for the connoisseur tour and had a great time with Mia our guide. Plenty to learn and Mia gave a great tour. Of course, there was also plenty of gin to taste as well! Will definitely be back to try the gin making tour!
J. J.
As a gin lover, this tour was incredible! I really enjoyed getting to learn more about its history and our tour guide Hannah was so funny!
I’ve suggested it to all of my friends and the friend I went with loved it just as much!
We did the Gin Connoisseur tour and it was well worth the money.
W. H.
Great experience. Made our own gin. Staff are great. Make sure you have eaten before you go if you are going to sample the various gins!
D. H.
Tasting was a great experience. We really enjoyed the variety of selections on offer and we went straight to the shop straight after to buy a couple of bottles. Well worth a visit and was one of the highlights of our trip.
C. O.
Having done a few whisky distillery tours this was my first Gin one and it was excellent. Phillip, the host, was outstanding and very knowledgeable. Learnt a lot from how Gin was first created to how it's became popular again. The tastings were fantastic as well, 10/10!
L. S.
Went today for tour and gin tasting ,was good to find out more about my favourite drink so many different gins now
J. N.
Honestly this is a brilliant attraction, their is so much information available regarding the history of gin, and they let you into the distilling room to see the gin being made in front of you. The tour guide Alan (I'm pretty sure this was his name, apologies if not) was so energetic and engaging, definitely made the hour tour fly by (in a good way). For anyone interested, a story:
For my other halves birthday I thought that, as a fan of gin, she might like to go on a tour of the Edinburgh Gin Distillery. I was right, unfortunately I did not factor in how long it takes her to get ready, so for the 10am tour we had not had any breakfast. At the end we were bestowed with their classic gin, and a shot of a new gin of theirs (the bramble and honey), both of which were lovely, the result of which was having to convince a slightly tipsy birthday girl to go for breakfast. She refused, saying "she wanted more of that nice gin". The lesson was that we should have had breakfast.
L. G.
Short tour, perfect if you have other places to visit, Jenny our guide was brilliant. Really informative, learnt a lot. The gin at the end plus the sample of the new mulled liqueur was great. You have to try this.
b. c.
Fascinating to learn the social and historical facts about gin and gin making. Great tour and a great guide called Phillip. The Distillery is wonderful and at night it becomes a gin bar, very cosy and atmospheric. 10 out of 10.
A. S.
Great experience at Edinburgh gin for the tasting session. Natasha was very friendly, informative and passionate about the company and the products available.
J. M. A.
Fantastic tour. We went on the 11 am tour on June 6th and the guide was fabulous (can’t remember her name). Funny to see how small the distillery actually is and great walkthrough of the gin history.
R. K.
A fantastic experience! Highly recommend the tour and tasting experience. I'll never look at Gin the same!
R. P.
Easy to miss if you get there before they open, Edinburgh Gin is located down the steps on the northern side of Kylo. Once open, there are a-boards and other signs advertising their presence.
I attended for the 10am tour and gin tasting and made my way downstairs. Doubling up as the Heads and Tales gin bar of an evening, the decor feels reminiscent of a 'speak-easy' with plenty of moody lighting, leather seating, and vintage nik-naks.
Unfortunately, or fortunately, the four other people that were supposed to be on the tour cancelled at the last minute so I got the full attention of the guide. First up was a potted history of gin, from it's origins in Holland based on jenever and being brought back by Scottish soldiers, to the minimum ingredients to be classed as gin; from the rise and fall, and rise again of gin, to why gin is usually distilled by whisky distilleries.
Once that was out of the way, I got my personal tour of the two stills - both of which were being cleaned - where it was clear to see why Edinburgh Gin is classed as a "small batch" distillery, as both stills are on the diminutive side.
Tour over, I got to pick one of the Edinburgh Gins for tasting, and I picked the Seaside one. This was paired with the Mediterranean tonic water from Fevertree with a slice of lime and some lavender. My drink was brought to me in my cosy booth where I was able to relax and enjoy my new-found favourite tipple.
Small and perfectly formed, and worth the £10 for the tour and drink.

This is quite easily the best gin experience in the UK. Ever want to know how gin is made? Or where it came from? This is the place. Plus the area you do your tasting is out of this world!! Honestly if you do anything while you are in Edinburgh this is it?!?
A. E.
The tour is great and very informative and the entrance fee is reasonable. It gives a very good insight into the history of Gin production. You also get to taste some gin at the end. There is a small shop located there which sells their produce, which you can enter without taking the tour..
B. S.
Great place (must-visit in Edinburgh) with rich history, told by enthusiasts - from the very entrance you feel people are passionate. Kudos! and... “give Phil a raise!” : ) cheers
M. M.
Very cool and awsome experience! Our guide was Alan and he make his Job very good!
The tasting was very nice, Edinburgh Gin makes awsome gins! 😃 👍
M. L.
Had a good time here learning some interesting facts about gin. Only criticisms didn't let us choose the gin we tried I think the smelling of the ingredients should have happened with the testing of the gin.
M. M.
My friend and I loved our experience at Edinburgh Gin, both considering it our favorite tasting experience among several we tried while in Scotland. Our host Natasha was awesome - making the experience super fun while still learning about the history of the company. Would highly recommend to any gin fans visiting Edinburgh.
J. W.
Enjoyed the tasting of 5 different gins, with accompaniment suggestions. With a small group, where others did not participate, the atmosphere was a little flat, not helped with our guide having to use a mask. I would have liked some more info on the process as well as the tasting. Our guide was great and the gift was a surprise. Will schedule a visit to their new location post-Covid.
A. P.
2 weeks ago, was here with my partner and two other friends. Due to covid, my review will be based on the experience during Covid restrictions.
Group size was perfect. Staff were really helpful. And extremely knowledgeable. All questions were answered, and the icing on the cake was that they were all really enthusiastic about Gin. Even tho they had a mask on, you could tell that they were smiling as they were giving their presentation of the various Gins they have.
Overall a really great experience. Well priced. Suitable for all age groups over 18. Tables were in groups of 2. Recommend 10/10
A. S.
We went here for a tasting during our recent trip to the city. Due to current restrictions, this was a tasting only but I believe in normal times they do a tour of the actual distillery too. The host was incredibly knowledgable and kept us engaged for the entire hour session. There were 5 gins to try, with mixers and a small bowl with garnishes to go with them too. Once the experience is complete, you can also buy the products you liked in their well stocked shop. We will definitely be going back on our next visit.
J. M.
I can't rate this place high enough , from the moment we entered the door we were approached with a great welcome and led to a beautiful waiting area. Clear instructions on where the bathrooms were, just help ourself to the water provided to how long we would be waiting. Mia arrived and took us on a brilliant adventure of learning the history of gin to showing us how the Edinbourgh Gin magic happens. Then the fun began with a taste bud overload.......even the cinnamon one was delicious. If I could give 20 stars I would, thank you to all the staff. Next time we will do the "make your own gin" option.
L. L.
Beautiful decor, you can have personalised cocktails which are incredible and reasonably priced considering the amount of care put into them! Will definitely visit again
H. M.
Amazing visit. The staff were so friendly and informative. They were happy to answer any questions and really involved you in the tour. The gin tasting was also good and the guide Natalie was great at explaining the botanicals and even reccomended us to check out the botanical gardens. Im looking forward to their new location and plan to come back again.
Even if your not a big fan of gin, it was still a great experience.
J. L.
We loved our gin tasting! We learnt a lot more than we expected to, Chloe our host was great and really friendly! Amazing value for money trying five different gins and it was so interesting learning about the distillation process!
C. S.
Amazing informative funny and lovely gin thanks Mel
Z. C.
Seemed like a locals only place. Showed up on new year's around 1am group of 7. They seated us immediately in a private room with our own personal server. Drinks were also great and prices for mixed drinks range from 5 to 8 each.
Clean. Friendly. Awesome.
S. T.
Great tour! Chloe was great! Well worth a visit, very informative!
G. G.
What a brilliant tour, well worth taking time out to make sure you visit, we had Tony as out guide and he was in a word 'Excellent', factual and humorous, this was followed by a tasting of the various types of Gin, a very good 90mins, Note, choose the tour with the tastings.
C. H.
Alan our guide was really entertaining and personable. Great crash course on the history of gin and also tasting session of Edinburgh gin to end the tour 👍🏼
J. K.
Really good tasting experience. We've been to a few distilleries now so I didn't learn as much as I could have done, but if you love the gin or haven't been to many distilleries before this is a superb pick especial considering the price and discount you receive
A. P.
Great tour, very informative and fun. Great selection of gins to taste and how to taste them to their full potential. Chloe was brilliant. Would highly recommend.
J. V.
We had so much fun on our tour! The guide was brilliant and the gin servings were generous and they do brilliant cocktails in the evening!
A. B.
Great staff we had a fun moment makong our own gin. They take great care of their customers.
A. L.
Alan was so informative and clearly enjoyed his job. Would definitely recommend this experience
G. D.
Great experience! Emily was a fantastic Host, really knowledgable and great fun!!
L. H.
Fantastic experience!! A definite must do for all gin loving Edinburgh visitors. We had the gin tasting experience - lots of varieties ofgof to taste as our host Fearne shared stories on the history of gin and explanations of the gin making process! Thank you Fearne! Post covid, our visit was also clean and socially distanced throughout - very safe. We left booking last minute and could only book the 10.15 slot - however, if the same happens to you don't be put off. The amount of alcohol is generous for price but not so excessive that you will be sloshed before midday!
A. S.
Went for the gin tasting experience and really enjoyed it! I found the talk about the history of gin and the history of the EGD very interesting. Would definitely recommend this :-)
D. M.
Amazing tour, our guide Alan was extremely knowledgeable and made the whole experience very fun!
Y. Z.
Simply Great. I booked the Gin Making Tour and it was worth the 100 Pound I went Home with a great tasting Gin of my own creation and a great Deal of knowledge in the Art of Gin making. The Staff was great, friendly and very helpful. I can recommend it to everyone visiting.
m.
Went for a gin tasting experience loved it callum was very knowledgeable. went to get a couple of gin bottles for home slightly expensive but with the 10% made it more reasonable.
C. M.
Lovely gin experience, learnt alot of history about Gin today.
D. R.
Great tasting experience! Damn good - with love from Texas
H. H.
Brilliant experience here, staff were lovely, really really interesting history of gin. Would definitely recommend!
A.
Great value for money and very interesting. It was only £10 for the tour and we also received a gin and tonic and a gin taster later. The staff were fun and knowledgeable and we got to learn about the history of gin. Do book online as it books up very fast and is very popular.
A. D.
Lovely little distillery! As the tour group sizes are quite small I would recommend booking ahead! We did the basic tour which was very informative and fun, which included a classic G&T and discount in the gift shop. Would love to go back and do one of the other packages. As the tour is downstairs beneath a hotel, there might be access issues for some.
D. B.
The Gourmet tour trip was really good, plenty of information about gin production, ask questions if you want and receive good informed answers. One person shows you round and the groups are limited to eight or nine people. After the intro which takes about half an hour you are guided to a small room where you are introduced to a selection of gins and tonic if required along with an explanation of how they are produced and what is in them. A very relaxed hour where you get to meet and chat to your fellow tourists. Overall a thoroughly good experience that I would recommend to all of my friends.
G. H.
Had a great tour yesterday. Really interesting and informative talk about history of gin in general and specific to Edinburgh. Up close to the stills which was good. Finished off with a small group chatting about gin as we tasted the different products Edinburgh Gin produce.
A first class tour and good value for money.
Would recommend to any gin lover.
G. T.
Amazing value for money for the £25 tour. Enthusiastic host and delicious gins
E. F.
I learned so much about gin, much more than I thought I would be able to absorb at 10am. Our guide, a nice young lady from the US (whose name I forgot because, again, it was 10am), was super knowledgeable about the history and distilling process of gin, and her passion just for gin in general was palpable and contagious. We got to pass around the actual ingredients that go into a gin - even taste some of them (juniper berries and licorice powder are actually really good). I definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Edinburgh.
H. T.
We took the Gin Connoisseur Tour about a month ago and would thoroughly recommend it. Our guide, Alan, was very friendly, informative and fun. The combination of the history of gin followed by the tasting of various gins was great - and as our package included a free 20cl bottle of gin plus 10% off in the shop, we went away with a lot of gin! A very enjoyable way to spend a Monday morning!
g. c.
Wife is a gin lover so took her here as a treat.
The tour group sizes are small so book ahead. The tour was very informative and you get to sample some gin at the end.
Guide was good fun and nice little gift shop.
P. A.
Gin connoisseur tour was fantastic - it’s more a learning experience than a tour but really interesting history and a look at the stills etc. followed by a gin tasting including some of the liqueurs too. Philip was great and made the experience really fun - give him a pay rise!!
P. H.
We took the Gin Connoisseur Tour and would thoroughly recommend it.
Our guide, Alan, was very friendly, informative and fun.
It was very interesting to learn about the history of gin which was followed by a very nice and welcome tasting of the various gins on offer. It was a really great experience and well worth a visit.
S. M.
We enjoyed the basic tour, lots of history about gin and Edinburgh which I loved and our tour guide Caitlin was lovely, funny and clearly passionate about gin. The venue is surprisingly welcoming, given it's in a basement and our gin and tonic at the end of the tour was divine! Even in winter, I had to book two days in advance to find an open spot, so recommend booking in advance if you can!
P. L.
Did the £10 tour - great tour and the gin at the end was lovely! Gets booked up quickly so would recommend booking early. Tour guide was really good too. We saw what looked like rat poo on the sofa was my only concern.
R. M.
Love love love this place; our tour guide was funny and friendly and interesting. The distillery is super cute and EVEN BETTER is a bar in the evenings where they will specially make you a gin cocktail to your requirements. 10/10 would recommend. Definitely worth a visit.
A. P.
Such a great experience! Natasha our host was so lovely and entertaining. Really enjoyed this experience and would highly recommend
B. B.
A superb tour with Callum last Monday. What an amazing tour guide, more of a presenter! Great sense of humor, fantastic knowledge, and super friendly. The tour was both interesting and funny! Please, please don't grow too big, E.G. Sometimes expansion can kill the provenance and quality of a product. I'm just so pleased I got to see the wonderful little underground distillery last week and witness Flora doing what she does best before all the new plans!!!! THANKS CALLUM!
M. C.
We did the gin discovery tour. Great value, and a lovely way to spend an hour. The guide was entertaining, knowledgeable and fixed us up with some smashing drinks at the end. We liked it so much we came back and sat in the bar in the evening! Probably the comfiest armchairs in Edinburgh.
A. M.
Very informative tour given by an excellent guide. The tour was fairly light on how they actually make the Gin themselves. Instead the focus was on the history of Gin - really interesting for somebody who wasn't really aware of the history but potentially a little disappointing for somebody more keen on the manufacturing process itself.
M. R.
Me and my boyfriend have been trying to book for months but could never get a date to suit. My mum booked us the tour as a Christmas present and soonest date she could get was 10 am tour in March. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. The history of gin and a look into the distillery too - both informative and fun. The tour guide was really good fun and it felt like the tour was personalised to the group with jokes and laughs. The G & T serve was most enjoyable. What other entertainment can you get in Edinburgh on a Saturday for £10 plus a gin?! Highly recommend.
ps Phil needs a pay rise ;-)
6.
Great place down in a basement near the city centre ! Some lovely gins being made and a great talk on gin history which was really good . Taught me a few things ! Ever seen a gin pig ?!
Definitely worth the time and money if you even remotely like gin !
C. E.
Absolutely brilliant, Corey our tour guide was fantastic so knowledgeable and a really great sense of humour. Lovely girl. We really enjoyed the tour and tasting and it's a beautiful little gem. Definitely recommend a visit
R. W.
An amazing experience, Phil knew his Gin history. He made it funny and interesting. I went there for my 40th birthday, we sampled lots of Gin, then Phil started a chorus of happy birthday. Thank you to everyone it was a great tour.
C. M.
Had a fabulous day at the gin making experience. Was great learning the history of Gin & seeing it created before my eyes. Best bit was of course trying the excellent selection of Edinburgh gins & proudly leaving with my own creation (which I add is tasty)
C. D.
Compared to other tours this felt like a tourist trap which charged as much as whiskey tours without the detailed tasting. I enjoyed learning the history of Gin and whilst there was a tasting session it would be nice to learn what to look for or avoid when tasting good vs bad gin. On the whole it was a fun hour out though.
M. R.
I enjoyed the tour and thought it was good value for money at £10 pre booked online. It's a very small place under a hotel and an ingenious way of using the space. Our group of ten had a talk about the history of gin and passed around pictures and jars of ingredients to smell. We saw some of the varieties of gin that they make on the premises. We then went into the actual distillery and had a little chat about the process which was interesting.
We sat in a cosy underground room and had a glass of gin and tonic. We were there for about an hour in total. They have a little shop where you can buy small gift packs of three different types of gin, large bottles, candles and glasses with 10% off. We did this tour on a Friday and were told we could come back over the weekend and use the discount.
Considering I don't like gin and went just for the interest of knowing how a distillery works it was very good. I actually enjoyed the gin and tonic given to us. :). The only reason I gave this 4 stars was because during the talk in the distillery I couldn't hear the guide very well as she was quite softly spoken.
C. Z.
We had the £25 tour. Absolutely brilliant and worth every penny, never expected all the tasters we got. Had such a laugh and also really interesting. Kaitlin our tour guide was brilliant too. Would highly recommend and will be back.
c. f.
My friend took me on the tasting tour for my birthday & what a great experience. Phillip was our guide & he made it not only interesting but I loved his quirky sense of humour, he really made the trip.
I was also very surprised at how many tasters you got as well as a small bottle of your choice to take away.
I loved it & would highly recommend...
K. M.
Really cool place, staff know what they are doing, loads of fun making the cocktails and the tasting.
E. C.
Great tasting session led by Phil today who was a great host. Very interesting and you get a good amount of gin and a goody bag so definitely worth the money!
P. L.
Perfect place to learn something about Gin and Edinburgh. We had a really good tour and our guide Philipp was an excellent host. We really enjoyed the time in the dungeons in Edinburgh. I hope that our gift from Germany (Heimat Gin) was also delicious :-) We will come back when we visit Scotland the next time.
A. B.
Gin tour £10 per person
This was a cheeky treat for my daughter and I on our recent visit to Edinburgh. The distillery is at the far end of Princes Street down some steps and into the underground vaults which make up this unique gin factory.
On arrival we are offered water and take our seats in a very comfortable lounge then once everyone arrived we were taken into a room where the history of gin is explained accompanied by smelling the various ingredients, an enjoyable experience very interactive rather than being spoken at. Our guide was lovely.
Next we met the two distillers, learnt about the process before sampling the goods in a unique tasting booth. You definitely get up close and personal with your fellow guests here so if you're a bit claustrophobic maybe mention this beforehand.
The only thing that spoilt this for me was tonic water, I would have preferred the option to have my gin with lemonade as I couldn't drink our lovely sample, neither could my daughter. Seemed a shame really as everything else was fabulous.
You have the chance to buy some goodies at the gin shop with discount. A great experience for gin lovers especially if you like tonic.
R. M.
A great afternoon spent in the tour of the distillery, very enjoyable. Thank you to my wife for a lovely 50th birthday present
P. M.
Nice visit if you know nothing about gin. Mostly about gin history and their range of products. If you want to learn something, even high level, about gin production it is not the place to go. At the end they serve you a gin cocktail and say goodby...another group to attend.
R. S.
Excellent covid friendly experience! Would definitely go again
A. C.
Allan was our guide and he put in a great performance. He responded to banter with his own and made the whole experience very welcoming. Definitely worth doing, make sure you book!
M. L.
Wow what an awesome experience! If you are into gin a must have, if not take the tour either after it you are into gin!
It's a stunning tour and caledonia and flora are top tour guides! 😉
Btw. Allen was also nice!
E. W.
A very enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours if you find yourself in Edinburgh. Be warned however this attraction is very popular and well booked up in advance.
There were four of us today who joined others for the Connoisseur Tour. Louise was our guide. She was friendly knowledgeable and imparted the history of gin making with humour and enthusiasm in comfortable surroundings. After approx 45 mins, our group moved into an authentic and atmospheric vault where we began our tasting session led again, by Loiuse. There was a generous allocation of different Edinburgh Gins and delicious liqueurs for each person to sample with a range of different tonics to best complement them. Even after all that we were given a small bottle of our favourite liqueur to take home and 10% discount in their tiny but well stocked shop. So what's not to like about this hidden gem that's tucked away below stairs at the West End of Princes Street - very little other than shop is too small to accommodate everyone at once at the end of the tour. A very definite thumbs up from us!
T.
Not a gin fan but the tour was very informative and the tour guide was very knowledgable and fun. The staff are great and you get a glass of gin and tonic at the end(:
A. M.
Really enjoyed our fantastic tour today with Elena. Very informative and great value for money too. A lovely gin and tonic to finish was a nice touch.
J. B.
We had a great time at Edingburgh Gin and Tony was a great host. It was a good experience with history and a lot of fun facts about gin. The place is really nice and cozy and the tasting was excellent!
A. C.
Corey was excellent! Funny, informative and warm. Well worth a visit and good value for money if you're in Edinburgh. Plus the gin is great too.
S. H.
My father-in-law and I took this tour while our wives went shopping, thankfully. We are both gin drinkers and learned much about the history of gin and how it is made. There was a great gin and tonic served afterwards. Phillip answered all of our questions and made us feel at home. I highly recommend this if you have an hour or so to spend while in Edinburgh.
D. N.
Did the gin connoisseur tour with Dougie. What a guy! Knows his gin history, distilling processes and loves a chat over the complementary samples, of which there are plenty. Great place to visit. And I usually prefer whisky!
D. B.
We took a Gin tour and truly enjoyed it! Within an hour we learnt about history of gin, production cycle and types of gin. It was informative and funny at the same time! At the end there was a tasting session with a lot of gin :)
H. B.
The gin is amazing here. Had a great time on the tour. Hannah did a great job taking us through the history of gin to getting to know everyone at the end of the tour. A+!
T. H.
Had a tour and tasting. Amazing tour guide made it great!
C. G.
A great experience to do whilst you're in Edinburgh! A small distillery, the tour was mainly in one room learning about the history of gin but it was very interesting, engaging and informative, with very friendly staff and examples of the various botanicals that go in to Edinburgh Gin.
You get a look at the stills close up (in a very small room!) followed by a free gin and tonic which is delicious. Overall, a great activity, reasonably priced and you get a discount in the shop afterwards, so you can buy cheap gin to take home! Our guide, Alan, was a lot of fun and we had a great time, highly recommended to anyone visiting Edinburgh.
C. R.
Aside from having a delicious reallyproduct and cool location, the tour and guides were outstanding (and funny!) Also, I got lost and called them for directions and the gentleman I spoke to was so kind and helped me get there! 6 out of 5 stars!
m.
Just finished a tour this afternoon with James, very informative and relaxed, gave us a good history of gin and all the botanicals! Enjoyed the gin at the end and also the Christmas gin too. Thanks for making it enjoyable
A. P.
Only visited the shop as we were only on a day trip to Edinburgh. Lovely quirky cellar shop, but be warned it is very small and will only fit 3 or 4 people comfortably.
Absolutely love the gin. Will be returning for the tour.
H.
It is hard to spot, look out for the sign as it is underground. The tour was fully booked in december so make sure you book online. If you didnt book, you can still go buy Gin from their shop. It is a little pricy but it tastes great. If you are a gin lover, I suggest you book early or at least go buy back sime Edinburgh Gin.
A. C.
Nice informative talk and tour about the history of gin making and the distillery itself, followed by gin tasting and even a free bottle to take home. Fab morning, even if we were drunk on gin by midday!
J. S.
What a cracking day at the Edinburgh Gin tour. The young guide Hannah was full of knowledge and very informative .
We were able to taste various samples of gin and all in all it was a very pleasant experience
C. C.
Did the Gin Connesiour tour with my wife and in laws, really informative and friendly host (thanks Phillip!) A few nice gins as a follow up - shop reasonably priced with a 10% discount from the tour on top.

B. R. R.
Fairly cheap and interesting way to spend an afternoon, my husband enjoyed learning about the production methods and the staff were happy to explain in detail. We hadnt planned our visit in advance, but we found everything to be self explanatory. Bought souveniers here.
D. T.
Prebooked the Gin connoisseur tour. Tony was out excellent guide and learned about the history behind gin and Edinburgh Gin itself. Loved the tasting. A fun way to pass and hour or two.
D. M.
First day of them reopening. Brilliant gin tasting tour. Adhered to social distancing clearly but in a relaxed manor. Brilliant tour all around 😊
M. E.
Went on the gin making tour and had a fantastic time. Not a big lover of gin, however this did not detract from what was a well-organised and interesting event. Special thanks to Sarah who was a most gracious host.
R. M. C.
Very friendly informative staff and a great experience. Thanks
M.
My Wife purchased a surprise visit to this establishment as a 50th Birthday treat on our recent visit to Edinburgh in February. The guided tour around this very compact establishment was excellent, the Guide was charming and knowledgeable and we left after about an hour and a half feeling refreshed and with a warm glow (probably from the samples)..
Would certainly recommend this to anyone who has even a slight interest in the production and drinking of their Gin... Very good value for money...
C. S.
Excellent gin testing experience, great variety and a really interesting history of gin. An superb example of rising to the occasion and showing the way back to some sort of normality
