J. G.Of course it is great when you know for sure you can see dolphins. But no one has any influence on nature. We could see many dolphins, directly on the coast and they swam interested next to our boat. In addition, it was positive to me that it was not only about showing the tourists as many dolphins as possible, but also to take into account their wild life, thanks for that!!!!
Apart from that you got a view of the beautiful coastline, saw many birds and with a little appreciation that is enough for a successful boat trip, especially for this price!

Tim the skipper gave us a safety briefing after we had been outfitted for the trip on a beautiful clear but cool morning.
We saw scores of wildlife including guillemots, gulls, seals, porpoise and bottlenosed dolphins.

J. K.Had a great time on this trip and not only got to see dolphins, birds and other wildlife but a unique view at the beautiful cliffs and bays. To be honest even if we hadn't seen dolphins we still wouldn't have had good value for money. My only suggestion is maybe an amplifications system for the guide, but most of the time we could hear okay even at the back of the boat
H. M.What a trip! From the moment we walked into the shop and were warmly welcomed by Lorna to the moment she waved us off again we had a great time. Booking was easy to do and confirmation email gave lots of information about what to wear/bring and what they could provide and where and when we needed to turn up. Lorna was very friendly and keen to tell us all about what they had seen on recent trips. Good briefing by Tim before setting off - told us all the essentials but didn’t waffle on unnecessarily! Tim was very knowledgeable and answered all of our many questions brilliantly. He was also very considerate of the dolphins’ space - we didn’t linger for too long so as not to disturb them. He was very calm and confident throughout even when there was a potential emergency at the harbour as we were setting off (completely unrelated to our trip!). He spoke up well throughout meaning that my Dad who is slightly hard of hearing could hear the vast majority of what he said - this was helped by being in a good seat to hear so do let Tim know if you struggle with hearing and he will be able to help! The trip itself was lovely and covered much more than just dolphins although we did see a couple of dolphins which was a highlight! Boat ride exhilarating and despite being in seats where we did get rather splashed, the waterproofs that were provided made sure we stayed very warm and dry. A brilliant experience and we will definitely book again when we are back in the area! Thank you!
T. S.Went on this amazing boat experience. Staff immensely cheerful and friendly. Good local knowledge. Safety explained well. A great time, didn’t see “fins” but hey its nature! They’re doing their own wild swimming . The added bonus of hot chocolate and a biscuit halfway was a lovely touch. Well worth the time, and a beautiful setting.

It was fascinating to hear about the sunken ship, the oil rigs, the birds just everything. Even more we got to see dolphins and some very inquisitive dolphins too who enjoyed looking around our boat. The weather was amazing and we truly felt we could have been abroad. If you want an incredible experience with the chance to see dolphins this is probably one of the best trips you can take on the Black Isle.
A. B.Lovely dolphin tour. There is a large colony living here so you've got a fair chance to see these majestic mammals. You will also see the bird colonies and will learn some interesting facts about the area, and history of its industry. Well worth the visit and would definitely recommend.

R. T.Great morning out for adults or families. The weather was a little overcast and grey, but the friendly staff reassured us that the calm waters would be perfect for spotting the pods... And they were!
A warm and relaxed welcome, all kit in good condition and provided to size and onto the good looking boat. The guides are very knowledgeable about the local history, seabirds and marine mammals. The route we took was dependant on recent dolphin sightings and this attention to detail really pays off.
Really exciting morning, and great to support a local, small and sustainable business.

The guide was knowledgeable, pointing out sights of interest and had a keen eye for spotting wildlife. Would definitely recommend, service was efficient and staff are friendly and enthusiastic.

Went for a 3-5pm sealife and wild bird watching tour. We didn't have much luck with the dolphins in the beginning but we kept on going deeper into the sea till we spotted a few porpoise and dolphins. Managed to see some seals as well
The crew was friendly and knowledgeable. Boat and protective gear seemed new and sturdy. Sara did some tricks with the boat and got us a hot chocolate (compliments of Ecoventure) at the end of the tour. Really loved it!

Nothing beats Seeing wildlife in their natural habitats.
Also saw some bird colonies and WW1/2 relics.
Informative ride and quite comfortable despite the biting cold, wet & gloomy weather today. 10/10 worth it.

We were fairly relaxed about whether we saw dolphins and had a great tour of the bird life, but we were lucky enough to see a pod of a dozen bottlenose dolphins right by the boat, which came to play after feeding. Lovely trip, beautiful scenery, highly recommend.

Sarah was engaging, friendly and informative and we felt well looked after, all health and safety (including Covid-19 measures) explained and adhered to. We were able to see seals, seabirds, dolphins and basking sharks and were lucky enough to have a beautiful still day but wrap up warm and take a camera!

S. *.They are very well organized and had good rain good rain gear for all our family including a 5 and 9 year old. The boat is great, very modern. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about where the Dolphins usually swim and also kept distance to the Dolphins in a more narrow passage - we stayed about 45 minutes with the dolphins. June is a great month to watch birds, too, as they come to the shore to nest.

I was nervous about getting seasick on the trip but the team were really helpful (and even offered to drop me back if I felt rotten). I needn't have worried as the trip was smooth and the rib boat was great fun. We were lucky enough to see a shark but it would have been a great trip regardless. Highly reccomend.

I always guage the best tours in relation to how eco-friendly they are. Eco Ventures are highly recommended and for a reason. It's very much, we are the visitors in natures home, the way it should be.
There are guidelines and policies in regards to the interactions we can have with the wildlife, specifically dolphins and whales. These are not really policed so it is great to see a company pushing them.
As for the trip itself, so easy to book and the staff are very friendly. The captain was incredibly well versed in the wildlife and the surrounding area of the Firth.
I dislike sea travel. I get motion sickness just looking at the waves sometimes. But honestly didn't get a single feeling of sickness. Partly because the sea was fairly tame and partly because the captain wasn't merciless and kept us facing waves rather than getting us side swiped.
You're provided with waterproofs but it's advised you wear (a lot of) warm clothes underneath. The sea wind has rates a zero out of ten on the forgiving scale.
We saw a pod of dolphins, including their young which was amazing. They stayed around our boat for probably around an hour before we became boring. Then we went off round the the headlands and to have a look at the sea bird colonies and the history of the Cromarty Firth.
Could not recommend this enough!

A.Das Personal vor Ort war sehr freundlich. Buchung und Umbuchung hatten super geklappt. Auch der Skipper war sehr nett und hat viel erklärt, deshalb noch die 3 Sterne. Aber 170 £ für eine 4 köpfige Familie ist zu teuer, wenn man nichts anderes sieht als eine kaputte Bohrplattform, ein paar Kormorane und Möwen. Von Delfinen aber keine Spur. Wir hatten eine Autoanfahrt von 2h und dann gibt's nur ein paar Vögel, die ich auch günstiger sehen kann. Man hätte meinen können Eco Ventures weiß wo die Tiere sind, aber totale Fehlanzeige. Es war eine sehr teure Hafenrundfahrt und wir waren sehr enttäuscht. Viel Geld für nix.

The on-site staff was very friendly. Booking and rebooking had worked great. The skipper was also very nice and explained a lot, hence the 3 stars. But £170 for a family of 4 is too expensive when all you see is a broken oil rig, a few cormorants and seagulls. But no sign of dolphins. We had a 2 hour drive and then there are only a few birds that I can see cheaper. You would have thought Eco Ventures would know where the animals are, but total non-existent. It was a very expensive harbor cruise and we were very disappointed. A lot of money for nothing.
