Came up on an impromptu visit from Sussex England to Southern Scotland. We’d been to the Highlands in the past and on recommendation from our friends we decided to try out the Scottish Borders and Southern Uplands with the help of Julian at the Biggar Tour.
We were not disappointed .... refreshments, identifying sheets, binoculars including a wee dram and coffee made the day all the more special. The weather did not dampen Julians enthusiasm and his wealth of local knowledge of the area and what Scotland has to offer in the way of nature /wildlife was evident to all in the party. He even gave us tips on where to walk the next day when we conquered Tinto Hill! We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would recommend to anyone and would definitely come back for a tour in a different area.

Thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Southern Uplands with Bigger Tours looking for Golden Eagles today. Julian is very knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommend

We had a great morning with Julian, who is very knowledgeable of the Southern Uplands.
Much to our delight we not only saw one juvenile Eagle but two!
We had refreshments along the way including a shortbread, which was nice. We were all supplied with excellent binoculars to use too.
Even though the Eagles were a long way off we all had a look through Julian's scope.
Excellent morning.

It was such a good day out. The scenery is amazing and Julian knew all about the history of the villages we visited. Highly recommend. A great idea if you’re doing a city break and wanted to see a bit of the gorgeous scenery of Scotland. The packed lunch and ‘wee dram’ were lovely. They even provide binoculars which were good quality and great for spotting birds of prey and deer. A great day out

Julian gave us a wonderful tour of the Scottish highlands. The scenery was breathtaking. We saw red kites and another bird of prey. We were able to look them up on identification laminates. We used high spec binoculars that made it very easy to see them. Lots of information along the way coinciding with what we were seeing. Very professional and friendly and the offer of a wee dram, coffee, tea and shortbread whilst making quite a few stops. Thank you Julian!

A great day! Julian was very knowledgeable and informative about the area and the scenery of the Southern Uplands was amazing, not at all what I was expecting. There were plenty of opportunities to stop and enjoy the scenery on the ‘highest villages tour’ or just observe from a comfortable vehicle. Seeing the red kites, oyster catcher, wheatear, skylark, meadow pipit and yellow hammer was a highlight for me - thank you!

Just finished a great day on the Wildlife and Whiskey tour. Enjoyed getting off the beaten path and seeing remote parts of Scotland. Julian was fantastic. It was a pleasure to spend the day with him.

Enjoyed our tour this morning as part of the Eagle Festival in Moffat. Julian is very hospitable, and has great local knowledge, and we were lucky enough to see two young golden Eagles. Definitely worth booking!

We had such a wonderful tour around the southern uplands of Scotland. We visited some very special hidden gems that we would never have found on our own. We were also given an opportunity to spot some of the Scottish wildlife as Julian knew where to look out for native animals in the area. Our group consisted of children and adults (aged 7-40) and there was plenty for all to enjoy. The pit stop for drinks was very welcome, especially with the homemade snacks provided. The journey was smooth and relaxing allowing us all to take in the stunning scenery around us. The added information about the area and surrounding scenery made us feel so connected to what we were seeing that we feel there should be a Bigger tour bus on every family holiday we go on! We shall definitely be back for another tour.

It was out first visit to Scotland so we needed a decent tour so glad to have a Biggar tour!
Julian did an amazing job at showing us the beautiful Scottish scenery and gorgeous mountains along with his knowledge of the local wildlife inc some birds of prey , we didn't realise how much history is in the area until the commentary he provided enlightened us ! We had 2 teenagers aswell and the frequent stops to get out and explore plus a lovely picnic made it a fabulous day out for the family, highly recommend this tour and would definitely do it again when we're next in Scotland!

Julian is friendly and happy to answer your questions along the way.
He is extremely enthusiastic about this beautiful area and has an excellent knowledge of Uplands' wildlife.
A very nice picnic was also welcome.
