Truly amazing experience from start to finish. Mike and Grace were very knowledgeable instructors giving just the right amount of information. I had never been paddling before but they helped to make me feel really confident on the water. I can’t believe Mike used to be on the GB paddling team. I have done both kayaking and paddleboarding with Discover Paddling as I loved it so much. Saul Junction was an amazing countryside experience and Gloucester was really cool to explore and get a different perspective of the historic docks. I would highly recommend booking with them!

Booked a session of paddle boarding at Gloucester Historic dock for myself and 3 teenagers. I had never done it before. Mike gave some great first-timer tips and instructions. It was good to have a tour of the docks and play some games. I managed to stand on the board a lot of the time and loved it. The kids haven't stopped talking about it. Fantastic experience, well looked after and would not hesitate to recommend. You couldn't be in safer hands.

We had the most amazing session with Discover Paddling! We booked it as my hen activity and it was the perfect thing to do - it was simultaneously active and engaging but also really relaxing to be on the water. Grace and Mike did a great job of reading the group and giving us some time to chill, float and practice how to do it but also teach us some challenges and games as individuals and as a team to keep us engaged! They took loads of great photos of us so we didn't need to worry about bringing our phones if we didn't want them and could just enjoy being on the water! We could take water and flipflops if needed and keep them under the straps and Mike brought any essential items with us in his dry bag (I'm diabetic so had a handbag of insulin and sweets he looked after for me!). They were also really aware and professional about my diabetes and checked in to see that I was okay and my blood sugar was fine before we moved on. They were also really aware of those who were less confident and gave them an extra hand and even though most of us were nervous at the start all of us ended up standing up but there was also no pressure to do so or do to do any challenges if we didn't feel comfortable. I was a bit nervous about standing but Mike and Grace are super nice and encouraging and Mike put my board under his board to stabilise me before moving away so I felt confident :) The floats are really strong and high quality and felt super stable so none of us fell off at all! Communication was great before and after the event and it was so lovely to see Gloucester via the docks - lots of great spots/boats to look at! Best way to see the town! Perfect hen activity, 100% would recommend - very happy hen! <3

Fantastic company to kayak and paddle board with. Extremely patient with children and make the sessions fun! This was my son’s choice of birthday activity! He had a brilliant time! We have been out with DP many times and will continue to do so.

Never done kayaking before but absolutely loved it. Mike was very reassuring and made the whole thing really relaxed and enjoyable. We had a bit of a guided tour of the docks and played some fun games. Highly recommended I want to go again!

I never thought I'd ever try paddle boarding and enjoy it - never been a fan of water sports... But we booked it for a hen party and Mike and Grace made it SO much fun!! Had such a wonderful experience with Discover Paddling for my friends birthday. We went Kayaking and our instructor Grace guided us round such a stunning river from Saul Junction! Would definitely recommend for a fun day out in nature with a brilliant team!

We were 2 adults and 3 girls 10 to 11 years in age. One child started off wanting to go home and hating it and by the end loving it and wanting to do more. It was so much fun and the games were a great way of engaging the kids. The instructor was brilliant and had the patience of a saint. We all want to do it again!

Super day yesterday - Paddleboard Progression Course (Beginner to Intermediate) - with Mike at Saul Junction. Even though I have been paddling on and off for 3 or 4 years, I learnt lots including new paddle strokes and some great safety techniques including how to make sure my buoyant aid was fitted correctly and how to rescue a paddler in distress. Mike has a super friendly & professional style. Highly recommended to all paddlers.
