P.From the moment we met our guides Nataliya and Tanya outside Kiev railway station we were so impressed with the organising skills that gave us beautiful food and tremendous travel experiences, all seemingly accomplished with such ease. The music, the mountain walks, the embroidery skills, the school that taught wood carving and weaving. The huge market was unbelievably amazing with such a variety of antique clothing and rugs also local produce. Without Nataliyas help we would have felt lost. S. V.I had such an amazing 9 days away with Experience Ukraine. It was so authentic, fun, delicious, memorable. Although we saw plenty this trip was about stopping and getting to know a pocket or two of Ukraine rather than dashing here there and everywhere trying to see all the sites. Starting in Kiev and finishing in Lviv was great but the in between, in the deep Transcarpathian countryside was the real highlight. I highly recommend one of these trips! And Nataliya is the best host. Budmo!

c. n. r.We loved our week in the Transcarpathian mountains with Experience Ukraine. Far from the madding crowds, we ate delicious local food, traveled into the hills, met shepherds who fed us their amazing sheep and goat cheese and milk, visited village markets, drank, sang and danced. And we had a great group of 12 interesting and interested folk from about five countries.
H. j.When we booked our trip, having met Natalia at a Christmas fair, I have to confess I had no real idea what to expect, other than an instinct that the trip might be interesting given Natalia’s enthusiasm and engaging personality.
The trip itself was a magical combination of a delightful city break in cool, hipster Lviv and the rustic, rural charms of the forested Carpathian region.
Every day was well thought out with plenty of interest. We spent 2 days making a rug under the relaxed instruction of the local rug makers, a day potting, met and listened to a famous octogenarian musician, and visited a local school, museum and other places of interest.
The food was legendary, as was the local vodka, and the hospitality and warm of the people overwhelming.
The other group members made for lovely company, and with Natalia and Tanya organising everything the whole ‘vibe’ was of humour and authenticity.
The country may be poor but the quality of life is high and we came away with memories (and rugs!) that we will always treasure.
