Reviews of London Duck Tours

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Great to see a few of London's big attractions such as Big Ben and the House's of Parliament and the splash down into the Thames was brilliant. Would highly recommend this for all ages.
P. R.
The tour guide on the microphone was really funny taling any kind of stories., He was the best part of the tour. We spend 2 hours driving around because the trafic in London is really bad.
I was specting to spend more time in the water but takes only 10 min.
D. P.
What a great tour. Worth every penny. Guide was funny and very knowledgeable.
P. D.
Worth a visit, lots of fun
Shame the rise of the Thames is restricted

Booked this tour last min with my family (4 adults and 5 young kids)...We all loved it, especially the fact they tell you on the website where to park and the prices too. The guy doing the commentry was amazing, he was very knowledgeable, witty and tried to involve everyone in the tour.. We definatly will be coming back with other family members too ! Thank you guys
M. L.
Really nice, just wish the river cruise was longer, literally just went to Westminster Bridge and back from Vauxhall

This tour was such good fun! It was a comfortable fun journey, my children loved it! I have been on a number of tours in London, this was the most fun. We gained loads of new facts and the kids didn't get bored!! The highlight of the tour for the kids was going from dry land into the Themes past the MI6 building..feeling like they were on there very own 007 mission. Like no other tour of the City!

Great tour - first rate guide (Graham). Took my 3 grandchildren, son, daughter in law and granddad. Cannot praise the guide enough - informative and amusing. Fielded all questions asked without hesitation and with wry sense of humour. Live just outside London so have visited many times but this was a different view. Thoroughly enjoyable day out and good value.

The child in me had wanted to go on this ever since I saw the bright yellow vehicles driving around town and the opportunity presented itself when my nieces and cousin of 'appropriate' age were visiting this past Christmas. I thought that the kids would enjoy the novelty of an amphibious vehicle, but I probably ended up having just as much (if not more) fun on the ride. Our tour guide threw out so many new and interesting facts on all the landmarks we went past that I felt like a complete London newbie. He also mentioned that the best time to take the tour was around the 12-1pm time slots because you would be getting into the water during high tide. This was by far one of the most fun things I've ever done in London and highly recommend it.

This is a fantastic alternative way to do a tour of London! The pick up location is easy to get to and easy to find because of the queue of yellow duck boats. The staff are friendly and energetic and well-informed about the local area. Our tour guide was fun and mixed the facts up with some good jokes. The river tour part was exciting and offered some excellent alternative views of London landmarks. I would've liked the boat to travel further down the river (it did a short loop from Vauxhall to Westminster Palace and back) but it was well worth the money and great fun.
y.
Very enjoyable all round. Nothing to dislike at all but plenty to enjoy. Usual thing you do in a bus tour but it's ample and our guide was really great. But the amphibious bit is brilliant indeed. Top notch idea.
C. L.
Great fun. Something different. A tour of London which ends with the amphibious vehicle driving into and sailing down the Thames. Brilliant
c. s.
Different way to see london, good fun and worth the money. Bit weird when you are first going to the water you really have to trust the machine. The trip was good but the only thing was the ducks are quite small so the group are not that big but the guides on them are very knowledgeable and you do have a bit of a laugh as you are travelling around.
K. K.
Lovely way to site see London . The team were extremely pleasant and explained the sites keeping younger attendees entertained. It is a shame they will only be operating in London up til 17th September as the crossover from land to water makes the day even more exciting and interesting.
P. B.
Went on a date here through Doing Something. I don't think she was into me much but I had a great time! I never knew how little I knew about London and it was fascinating.
You do get a lot of weird looks since the tour bus is big, yellow and half boat. But who cares when you get to drive into the River Thames and float past the Houses of Parliament (if you want the best photo of the Houses of Parliament the only way to get it is via boat).
The tour operator was really funny and I'd definitely do it again.

Even though i live in London, decided to have a staycation and look at my surroundings slightly differently... And it was great way to see London by road and river, driver was very knowledgeable and shared his passion for London and especially the Thames. Now done this in Boston + London and loved it

I really enjoyed my duck tour. More than I should be admitting to perhaps.
I booked the tour as a bit of a silly novelty for myself and two non-Londoners who were paying me a visit. It ended up being my highlight of the day and I know that they thoroughly enjoyed too.
We had to queue for a little while before we were told which 'duck' we would be boarding. These are not luxury vehicles - they are very old WW2 relics revamped. But any reservations we may have had about boarding quickly disappeared when our tour guide began talking. He and the driver were hilarious and as we drove around the streets of London, I actually realised that I was seeing an awful lot and learning a good few interesting facts about the landmarks we passed aswell.
Then came the moment when we drove into the Thames. It was hilarious, everybody was excitedly nervous and really seeing the humour in our situation. Why does anybody put themselves into such a position anyway? We made it into the water just fine and proceeded to sail on up the river and the tour continued. Be warned, do not open your mouth too wide or wear nice clothing as there is a lot of splashing going on at this point.
We made it back to land just fine and were dropped off feeling all the better and laughing our heads off. I could say that the Duck Tour is ridiculous and very cheesy, because it is. But at the same time, at a point, ridiculous and cheesy does somehow become hysterical.

A great experience, enjoyed by all the family. Quite pricey, but a good tour nonethless. I've been to London lots of times but still saw things I didn't know about. The children squealed in delight when we hit the water .
k. a.
Took my son for the first time. Unfortunately no armed forces discount.
Tour was ok. No real time to take photos as was hurried due to traffic.
Best part was once on the river, that made up for it.
D. M.
Brilliant tour which the whole family enjoyed. I've done several London tours and this was by far the best! Nick the guide was informative and funny throughout. Highly recommend!
m. m.
i was trying to kill some time and not expecting much but it was awesome. tour guide made it, he was funny and informative and appealed to adults and kids the tour took us around many london landmarks and up the thames by the mi6 building had a realy good time worth every penny
G. S.
Really good tour! Even though I work in London and commute through it every day I still found the tour interesting and informative.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and also very funny.
A. M.
So sorry it's not there any longer.
It was a great draw to London.
We were lucky enough to enjoy this tour on the last day.
So petty that no launching place could be made available.
S. R.
I actually went on this years ago with my kids and my friend and her kids, was a very good day trip. However when I tried to book this for my grandchildren I discovered that it no longer goes into the thames which is a real shame because it's amazing
M. l.
I learnt some new info about london and saw buildings i hadnt noticed before, despite born n grown in london i have never been on a tourist tour so this was very iformative for me and i would definetly recommend this as you spend 45 mins on land and 30 mins in the thames. Yes this is a bus boat from the 1940s. The commentary is in english so could be a problem for non english speaking tourists.
my sons absolutely loved this trip as they are rather quirky modes of transport and a novel way for them to learn history, look out for any deals
L. N.
The most fun way to go on a city tour in London definitely is Duck tours. Their amphibious crafts are from World War II when England was afraid of a possible German invasion. Nowadays tourists can board them near Westminster Abbey. Even though the vehicles are oldies, they still work the way they are meant to function: When driving the road, you suddenly take an exit and just enter the Thames - probably the most exciting way to ride the river. Plus, they have some tour guides with excellent entertaining skills. One of the most recommendable things to do in the capital.
J. S.
I took my eight year old grandson, Frank, on the Duck tour on Friday, he'd been wanting to go for ages. It was well organised, lovely staff and very enjoyable. I really liked the fact that you didn't have the stress of queuing. You went on board in the order that you checked in, brilliant idea! The other main thing I must mention was our guide, Dan, what a star, brilliantly funny, had us all in fits of laughter for the whole journey and lots of knowledge to share. I think the best way to show how good he was is to quote my grandson, Frank, "it was a brilliant trip and Dan made it!"
Many thanks and will recommend it to all.

These tours are fun - getting to go into/onto places you would not normally have access to when you sightsee in London. The guide on our tour was hysterically funny and he knew his London
D. B.
Absolutely a MUST to do if you visit London
Mike and Marcos comedy gold, even though the route had changed due to Brexit 😡 the best 2hrs I've ever had never laughed so much
Thanks for a great day for my family
Value for money
A. W.
The Duck tours are amazing land and water the tour gide is very good. If there is one thing i would change it would be the size of the duck because it is quite small and cramped. But overall it is the best tour in London!
P. L.
Fantastic trip highly recommend for all.
B. C.
This was our first trip and we took our 4 grandkids. It was a very good experience well worth the money. It was 75 minutes with 30 minutes on the water.
T. J.
Really interesting way of seeing the sights of the city and learning some interesting facts. Actually, I love London so much thanks to the tour I have been participating in.Absolutely professional and funny approach!
m. h.
Fun way of getting a basic look at the sights of London, with the added bonus of seeing it from water level. Great for kids and those who enjoy something out of the ordinary.
d. h.
Great experience! A really fun point of view of sightseeing! The guides are very educated and the whole trip was quite enjoyable.
d. c.
quacking good tour ! great fun & informative ( thank you Ben our guide... even if the queen did sound a bit like Winston Churchill ! ).
thoroughly recommend .
T. E.
Amazing tour and Harry was really funny, able to make a joke about anything, even my brother's imaginary friend "Jeffrey"
L. A.
Took the tour expecting it to be hokey. In the first 3 minutes, discovered the "duck" I was sitting on was the vessel used to transport soldiers to Normandy for D-Day. The vehicle is actually a DUKW-D standing for 1942, U for utility (amphibious), K for all-wheel drive, and W for 2 powered rear axles
T. W.
Knowledgeable and witty tour guide and a fun ride over land and water. Much better than the London Eye by a long shot!
E. L.
Really enjoyable tour Ben was a great tour guide. The kids loved splashing down into the water
H. K.
Lovely and funny trip. The older gent (Mike?) who was our guide was entertaining and full of facts.
S. V.
Loved it, tour guide was hilarious and it's a bus on the Thames what's not to love.
A. F.

Exceptional, no better way to see London..

The only thing that stopped this getting a 5 was the half hour delay and the lame excuse given. However, down to the guide it was worth the wait.
J. S.
Fantastic fun, great and unusual way to see London.

Great tour, it will be a shame to see them lose the slipway to the river.

Take a trip on one of these amphibious vehicles on your trip to London. Half the sightseeing tour is by road with the other half on the river. This was made all the better by the ultimate in London guides, Mr Devereux (sorry I didn't catch your first name). Extremely knowledgeable and funny - imagine Oliver Reed without the booze.
