Thanks to the expert planning communication with Sam, we were punctually collected at our hotel and transported by van for our day out with Oz. The day felt more like a meet up with a new friend than a tour. We learned and laughed throughout the day. Oz's suggestion of “Tiny Tim’s Tearoom” in Canterbury proved to be the perfect spot for lunch prior to exploring Canterbury Cathedral and the city. Sharing his knowledge of the Battle of Britain at the Memorial, Oz illuminated a piece of history - with color - that we non-Brits found fascinating and his knowledge of the history of Leeds Castle and Lady Baillie added an extra layer to the visit to a beautiful castle and grounds. At the end of it all, I can’t remember if Oz is a "Man of Kent" or a "Kentish man", but what I will not forget is his interest in etymology, his easy going style and flexibility and his history teacher background. We highly recommend working with this top notch duo.

We contacted Tailored Tours asking for a personalised tour of The Cotswolds, Stonehenge and Bath. Sam was very quick to respond and really informative about what we could expect to see on a day tour from London. Needless to say, the tour was perfect. Everything was just as we'd hoped for, in fact even greater, considering that our tour guide Oz is a walking encyclopedia! We had just the right amount of time at each attraction, we visited the sights in an order which seemed avoid any crowds and we didn't spend any time waiting in lines thanks to the planning and preparation of this lovely little tour company. I'd 100% recommend these guys!

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Stonehenge and Bath with Tailored Tours. Several things about the trip really made for a special day:
Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and went far and beyond simply reading a script as we've experienced with other tours in the past. He provided an amazing amount of context and nuance to what we were seeing that helped us (and the kids) really connect other sites that we'd seen across London. He was also hugely patient with kids, which really, really helped them enjoy the day.
Having a private car rather than cramming on a coach with others meant that we could make a stop if needed and allowed us some flexibility on the day. As well, we were picked up and dropped off at our flat which made the day much easier with children.
The back office staff was highly communicative throughout, helped us navigate which tickets and at what times we should pre-purchase and checked in with us the day before to confirm everything. Not having any surprises was very nice.
We couldn't have been any happier with our day with Tailored Tours. It was stress-free, hugely educational and made a memorable day out for the entire family. Couldn't recommend them more.

We aren't normally the type of family to book a private tour but with 5 of us the value was very reasonable. We saw so much more with these guys than we would have done on a public tour. We were amongst the first to see Stonehenge in the morning, we also had plenty of time in Bath. After seeing The Roman baths, Oz took us to some places where they filmed Bridgerton which my wife LOVED! The last little stop in The Cotswolds was to die for! Postcard pictures and memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you!

We took a private tour to Stonehenge, Bath and the cotswolds. This tour is a wonderful way to see lots of different things in a day without feeling rushed. Oz met us bright and early at our hotel. We beat the traffic out of London and seemed to be ahead of the game all day, although I'm not sure there is that much tourism going on in the UK at the moment. Regardless, the whole day was planned very well and Oz gave us all sorts of interesting information to keep us entertained between stops. Would definitely recommend Tailored Tours and Oz for any private day tour out of London.

Last year I took our family on a day tour out of London to go and see some cool places. First of all, the big decision was where to go! We really wanted to see Windsor Castle, but we researched that it was actually pretty close to London and we could go and visit the castle by train. In the end we decided upon Stonehenge, Bath and Castle Combe as the three destinations that would give us a nice mix of things to see.
Next step... finding the right company. We love the idea that small companies can showcase themselves on TripAdvisor because that's really what it's all about! We found a nice little tour company that was really good at communicating from the moment we got in touch. We sent a few emails back and forth to their operations department and Sam came up with a great itinerary that we would be flexibile to change on the day if we wanted to. Cameras packed... we were on our way!
First stop was Stonehenge. Wow! Not only was the monument breathtaking, but the history behind it was incredible! You HAVE to get yourself a private guide to walk you around the stones cos it can be so overwheming knowing what each stone represents. Luckily we had a Stonehenge expert with us as our driver guide. His name is Oz, and he must be one of the Tailored Tours best guides as there are tons of 5 star reviews about him already. His way of explaining things is so good! We aren't 'history bufs' by any means, but we were hooked on his stories and way of explaining the past. It was also handy that we arrived at Stonehenge early, by the time we left, the big bus tours were all coming in and it looked like it would have been an entirely different experience!
Next up was Bath. Again, on the way there we were hooked on Oz's stories about the Romans and why they travel on the left side of the road. When we got to Bath, Oz didn't stay with us but he escorted us to The Roman Baths Museum which we already booked our timed entry for and saved us a loooooong line! (Thanks for the tip!). The Museum was pretty cool. A little cramped in places, but amazing to stand on real Roman floor and see a 2000 year old temple. You get an audio guide and there are guides inside the museum as well if you've got any questions.
We grabbed a quick lunch at JC's Kitchen. Oz pointed it out when he dropped us off and it was a great place to grab a quick and local bite to eat. It's definitely not the place for anyone wanting a sit down meal and a pint, but we like to maximise sightseeing time on tours so we took the quick and easy option.
Oz met up with us again a couple of hours later and drove us around some really cool houses. We got to see the circus and the royal crescent and take pictures which saved us loads of time not having to walk up hill for 20 minutes!
Finally, we left Bath and drove for around half an hour into the cutest little village called Castle Combe. Not much there to go inside, but boy is it pretty! There's a particular spot by the bridge that everyone wants a photo of, but we got to go inside the grounds of this 5 star hotel and see that too which was a bonus! I'd also recommend seeing the church too, it was completely empty when we went and has a really old clock!
So that was our day trip with Tailored Tours. Never a dull moment, action packed but just the right amount of time to see everything properly. If you wanna check out these guys, they're a small company but they really know their stuff!

This was the second time that I’ve been to Bath and Stonehenge and I’m so glad that we booked this private tour. We say so much more and experienced so much more than the “big bus” tour. Our tour guide and driver, Oz, was an actual college educated historian! He’d even taken the time during Covid19 to write his own tour book that’s available to you as you ride along. I highly recommend using this company for any of your tours. Thanks again for a fantastic experience.

I had an excellent experience with Tailored Tours! We went as a group to Paris, in the middle of summer, we went to Disney and to all the main tourist attractions you can imagine and even though everything was crowded they knew exactly how to do it and what time to do it so we didnt spend any time on queues which was amazing! I never thought I would had such a good experience with a huge group and summer in Paris and everything went completly smoothly. Oz also has a vast knowledge of history that made the tour even greater, everywhere we went he had a good history about the monarchy to tell us with a good sense of humor. I miss it. I would never travel again with without Tailored Tours to support me. Thanks a lot!

The tour of Cambridge with Oz was fantastic. Just the right mix of fun and historical references throughout. Was always catering to our needs ensuring we got to see everything we could with regular stops for refreshments. His van was clean and spacious.

I wanted to book a private tour with my friends who came to visit me from New Zealand and luckily we found Tailored Tours because they were amazing from start to finish! I was uncertain about what was possible to see in a day, but after an enquiry they were quick to recommend visiting just 2 sights to ensure a thorough and relaxed visit.
We started the day off at Windsor Castle; Oz was our driver/guide and he picked us up right outside our accommodation. His knowledge of the Kings and Queens of England was incredible; we learnt so much about the Castle and who built it. We were also advised by Tailored Tours to pre-book our entry to the Castle, which was a great idea, we skipped a long line of people waiting to pay!
After a 2-hour visit to the castle, we met up with Oz for a pub lunch before departing to Bath. We absolutely loved this city! Oz’s history and interesting facts got us excited and ready to explore The Roman Baths and a 2 thousand year old temple (all in the same attraction) We then had a chance to visit Bath Abbey, The Royal Crescent and Circus before driving back to London. Thank you Oz for a great day out, from the Kiwi Gals!
