1st class trip, Newcastle to kings cross on the azuma fast train. Absolutely faultless, great train, friendly staff and nice food made this an enjoyable journey. Highly recommended!

Hot drinks machine was down, so only basic drinks available. Multiple ticket inspections got old quickly. Otherwise lounge comfortable and toilets clean.

A recent refurb has made the place much better. There is a good selection of snacks and both hot and cold drinks available. There is plenty of seating, regulrly cleaned and sanitised and the staff helpful and friendly.

It's fairly good for me. Quiet and private zone to relax yourself. There's also a good range of drinks, snacks and fruits to choose. Toilets are very clean. If the 1st ticket is a little more expensive (which you can find them quite often), there's no reason not to buy it. Last time I travelled I paid only £4 more than the standard ticket and could enjoy all services including a meal on board and a very comfy seat. All in all, very recommended.

Excellent Staff from the moment we arrived at the station before departure and the First Class Lounge was spotlessly clean with free complimentary drinks and biscuits, the train arrived on time for our trip to London and even aboard the train the staff were brilliant and went above and beyond with their excellent Customer services skills, so we'll impressed with everything we won't travel with anyone else but LNER. Enough said.

The lounge is ok, quite basic. It could have done with a good scrub and tidying up. Not sure why it is "First Class" as it is similar to other lounges. Unfortunately no staff around. Fellow commuters were unimpressed also.

There's nothing flash about this place. I'd rate it as basic. Maybe I'm a little biased as I recall the LNER train into Newcastle was running late and I nearly missed my connection. Actually LNER has quite a few things that need improving, but that's for a different review.

It's very basic for a first class lounge. I do like the fact that they don't check your ticket so you can go in even if you aren't travelling first class

Not much first class for the first class lounge. No milk, broken coffee machine, out of water, not very clean either.
