We booked Red Beard Tours as part of our first day in Newcastle Upon Tyne to get an orientation of this amazing city. We met Rob by the ‘Monument’ to start our tour on a wet Monday in February. He gave us an explanation of the tour and the distance we would be walking. Rob’s knowledge of this city is second to none!! He gave us a pretty detailed overview in roughly 2 1/2 hours about the city and as we walked along it was like we were ‘joining the dots’ so to speak…. The tour finished on the High Level Bridge and was worth every single penny. A well worth tour on a visit to the Toon..

Newcastle has a lot to offer, and this tour is a great way to get your bearings. We were there for 4 days and the tour was our starting point. We got history, pointers for places to visit, and plenty of background information about where we were. Our guide obviously enjoys what he does. He was entertaining and was able to answer our questions as we walked around. Put this tour on the top of your to do list.

What a nice walk on a cold and windy Newcastle afternoon with Rob! This is a nice way to learn more about Newcastle and its history and see the city in a new light. The tour with Rob was very engaging, interesting, and great fun. He is very passionate and enthusiastic about Newcastle (and it shows) and full of fun facts. Even after the tour was officially over, we walked in the same direction, Rob still stopped and showed me a couple of sights that were not on the tour's path. This walk is a must in lovely Newcastle

Fantastic tour today with the super knowledgeable and friendly Rob. We actually had 3 hours of Newcastle history and sightseeing, which was engaging and funny and Rob really is a great host with an abundance of knowledge and clearly so very passionate about Newcastle and its history. We always do a walking tour of anywhere we visit if one is available. Delighted to see this one had such good reviews so instantly booked, directly on Rob's website as cheaper. The tour lasts 2 and a half hours. It's all on the flat and not too much walking involved. It was a lovely sunny day but it did get chilly along the way. Really glad I put my thick coat on. Sunny weather late in the year can be deceptive. The time flew by. Rob was full of knowledge and lots of interesting facts. He delivered them in a fun way too. We now also have a good feel for the area and what it has to offer for our stay in Newcastle. Highly recommended

Wow! what can I say, if you want to know the history, local hear say and facts about Newcastle Rob of Redbeard tours is the company and man to go with! his delivery and execution of knowledge is impressive. Rob is a funny, witty bloke and addresses all this and more on his tour. He doesn't only know the history but also the finer details which brings the story of Newcastle to life of the buildings, industry and famous people who walked,v visited and lived in the area. From what I now know I will have to revisit Newcastle to see all the things Rob spoke about which I do not have time to do on this visit, fingers crossed he will do another tour will new information that I can join next time!

I did not expect to have such an amazing experience today. Our guide was so passionate about the history and brought the city to life. Even as locals to Newcastle, the city which I've spent my life, I had no idea about the rich and complex history that I am lucky to be apart of and I have been walking by everyday and I had no idea. 100% worth the event! Don't hesitate and book if you have a few hours to spare :)
