K. L.Our family of four stayed in this beautiful cottage. Rebecca had personalized hand towels and little bags with chocolate treats there for my daughters. Their room was arranged perfectly with two comfortable twin beds and our room had an extremely comfortable king bed. We had everything we needed including a variety of cereals, fresh bakery bread, coffee, tea, milk, mimosas, butter, and marmalade for breakfast. The kitchen was spacious and had all the appliances, pots, and pans we needed. The wood stove fire was ready to be lighted. This was a dream cottage with all the comforts for a rainy week in November. We were just a minute walk from shops in Southwell. Thank you for a lovely say, highly recommend for a family or couple looking for an extremely comfortable retreat.
C. N.Friends reunion! Lavender Cottage is situated in a great spot in the small village of Southwell. Beautifully presented throughout. We had a wonderful stay here for our reunion after 11 years. Rebecca was a thoughtful host checking in regularly and giving us tips about restaurants and what was going on that weekend. We would definitely stay again. Thank You Rebecca
S. W.I love that Lavender Cottage has a green tourism award. Rebecca is a fantastic host, very responsive and helpful. She had left provisions that were very welcome - milk, bread, butter, baked beans etc. Southwell is very pretty and the cottage is just a few minutes walk from the centre (also delicious coffee/bakery 1min around the corner). It was clean and well presented with some Christmas touches - good size for two people. Thank you for a cosy and comfortable winter stay!

For families with young children staying at Lavender Cottage a trip to Sherwood Pines is a must, our children enjoyed a whole day out.

From the moment we are tubed we felt the warmth and care put into the cottage. The basket of breads, the wood on the fireplace, the cozy bedding and bath towels…all created the perfect setting from which we were able to explore the town and countryside.

L. T.A fantastic little cottage for a perfect break away. We felt really pampered with the thoughtful touches - a plentiful supply of logs, hamper and provisions on arrival. Flowers on the table and attention to detail in the finishing touches in the cottage made our stay special too. We did some lovely walks around Southwell and enjoyed being able to wander around the pretty market town. A visit to the Minster is a must!

The cottage itself is spotlessly clean, is very characterful with every modern comfort and is situated in a charming quiet courtyard just a couple of minutes from a beautiful walk through the park that takes one past the Minster and into the town. Rebecca is a wonderful host who has thought of everything to ensure her guests have a wonderful break.
C. B.Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lavender Cottage, meeting up after Covid restrictions. The cottage was spotlessly clean, fridge well stocked and fire laid for a cosy night in. Rebecca was a very attentive, supplying us with lots of information about where to eat and places to visit. Southwell is a gem for history lovers whether it be a visit to The Workhouse or wandering around the town reading the many blue plaques giving a wealth of information about it’s inhabitants. Lovely cottage, lovely town what more could you ask for a few days break with old friends?

The Minster and palace ruins are absolutely amazing and you can spend hours walking around taking in the sights and the history of the town.
We were lucky enough to be in town at the same time as the fair so even had a ride on the Twister!
Cannot fault anything.
N. W.A beautiful little cottage in a lovely village, Rebecca was a lovely host and kept in contact with us through out our stay for the weekend. The cottage was very clean and comfortable, especially the little touches, ie welcome basket, and love heart sweets. The Minster was a stones throw away and absolutely amazing to visit. R.This is a beautiful little cottage in the heart of Southwell, one of the reasons I picked this one was exactly that, so I could nip into town and pick up a take away or go for a coffee, or just go for a lovely walk , and it ticked all the boxes! Rebecca was an absolute gem, she had a lovely welcoming gift for when we arrived, bread and nessitities which was very thoughtful. She was always available if we needed anything! Rebecca was a great host and the welcome pack was brilliant, including cereals and fresh bread from the bakery. Perfect for breakfasts. The cottage was just right for our family and we were very comfortable.

The location is perfect for exploring Southwell on foot. We had been a little bit concerned about parking as it's on the street but there were plenty of spaces on the road outside the cottage. You really can't go wrong if you choose to stay here.

S.We had a great time here, short walk to the high street, there was a fireplace stocked with wood which made for a fun and cozy experience, all sorts of breakfast Goods and milk was left for us, smart TV and internet. Beds were a perfect balance of soft and firm. All in all a great experience!
If I was to change one thing, the pillows were a touch low, but there were extra cushions to help prop up.
