I attended Albemarle College this year to retake my biology and geography exams. From the very start the teachers and staff were very friendly, making me feel very welcomed. The teaching was fantastic, engaging and has helped me achieve 2 A*'s while preparing me well for university. The teachers and staff always offer support which made this year very stress free. I would highly recommend this college to anyone thinking about resitting their exams.

I went to Albemarle for two years and had the privilege of meeting the most amazing people. I made some lifelong friends and felt so supported by all the teachers and staff members. The small group sized classes are ideal in reinforcing focus as well as engaging in compelling group discussions. Most importantly, the teachers are always there to help guide the students as well as hear out any of their concerns, to ensure that students achieve their full potential-not just academically.

I have been studying at Albemarle for 3 years and my journey there has finally come to an end. From the moment I first joined, I always felt welcomed and supported by my teachers. It is clear they genuinely want the students to do well; they never hesitate to provide extra study sessions and are always there to check up on you and make sure you are happy within and outside of academia (namely Lucy). I have loved my time at Albemarle and will miss all the teachers and students, the fun lessons and the general atmosphere. Thank you Albemarle!

An amazing school. Lessons here feel more like an indulgence in enjoyable discussions, making your path to university a lot easier than you might have expected. Albemarle has all the stuff that could make you say ‘that was one of the best experiences of my life’! I’ve achieved the grades I wanted and will now be going to university in London, which means that I’ll still be close to the place that I’m sure I will miss for a long time.

The teachers and all the staff at Albemarle are absolutely lovely! This college helped me get good grades as well as grow as a person. They were very good at handling my stress and and ensured my experience was a positive one. I would highly recommend Albemarle to anyone having a hard time with their studies.

I finished my studies at Albemarle 3 years ago and loved it. It was challenging and not always easy however, it made me study even harder. Now I am graduating uni soon and I am very grateful to have studied my A-levels at Albemarle. I met amazing people here and Albemarle really has that 'little family' kind of feeling. The teachers are amazing and always very supportive and understanding. I definitely recommend Albemarle College as I had a wonderful experience here, which I will remember for the rest of my life. Thank You.

My son attended Albemarle for the 2018-2019 school year to repeat 2 A-levels. From the start, the staff and teachers were extremely friendly, supportive, encouraging and professional. They were always there for him and provided extra revision lessons whenever he needed help or attention. He improved his A-level results by 3 & 2 grades and earned an engineering place at a Russell Group university.

Our son attended Albemarle for his 2 year A level studies. From the interview until the very last day we felt he was in the right place. We always received good amount of feed back and follow up from the school and we were always aware that he was getting good guidance about his motivation, choices and actions. Thrilled with the result, as he achieved a place in his first choice UCL BioMedical Engineering. Thank you.

Nothing short of amazing and the best personal experience of my life so far. I studied my A-Levels here. I applied to medicine and got AAAA, I have been accepted to my first choice.
Teachers: My teachers were fantastic all round, and the relationship you develop with them is very special. Anytime I wanted help outside of class they would sit me down and wouldn’t let me leave until they were sure I understood what they were telling me. As the class sizes are very small you will feel like you are under a microscope with them but it is ultimately for your benefit as this helps you get what you want. It is not easy to find good teachers in all the subjects you want to do but Albemarle have succeeded in that.
The teachers and both principals are extremely supportive and understanding. They were the first education professionals who actually believed I could apply to study medicine and put no obstacles in pursuit of my dream. This meant so much to me as in my previous schools (GCSE and AS Level) I wasn’t even strongly advised against it, it was just a straight no from them. The teachers here do a brilliant job and they have turned the grades of many students around, myself included.
Principals: Beverley and James are lovely people, and it means a lot that they take time from their busy schedules to personally teach lessons too. Even though James was not my curriculum manager this year, I was still able to go to his office and ask for advice whenever I needed it. They are both very experienced individuals in that they will work with you to help you achieve what you want. Beverley and James prevented me from making some educational choices I would later regret and I feel this is very important because you need a curriculum manager who will tell you the truth and not sugar coat anything rather than one who is nice, but isn’t really productive. They only want the best for you.
Pastoral care: The welfare officer, Tracy is a lovely lady however you can tell anyone in the school about whatever you wish. When my father was diagnosed with cancer, although I didn’t really speak about it much my teachers were very sensitive to it and helped me during this difficult time. I will not forgot the kindness of these wonderful people.
Atmosphere: It is a very small school, which yields great benefits such as having a tight knit community to match it. Everyone knows everyone, and we are all civil to each other. Everybody respects each other and it is easy to get into a conversation with anyone you don’t know. Both administrators and teachers are very friendly and they always politely greet you which may not seem like it is very important, but as a stressed out student it is rather nice to know that it isn’t tense at school. You can walk into the staff room as you please and ask for any help you may need with work.
Quality of education: In my opinion, my experience here has been priceless and the fees do not justify how much I have been helped. The monthly mock exams really makes Albemarle different to other schools/colleges as you get so used to sitting exams that by the time the real ones come around, you are hardly nervous. They are also an excellent opportunity to consolidate your learning and help you iron out any difficulties you may be experiencing. The teachers spend a lot of time tailoring these exams and marking your work in depth, as well as going through the mock exams in class. However this is not to say you are guaranteed excellent results if you come to Albemarle! The teachers who do their best is only about 25% of the effort- the other 75% is entirely up to you and the only way you will get what you want is if you work with your teachers and do your part. You are in charge of your own capabilities and it would be a huge shame if you did not utilise the excellent opportunities here at Albemarle.
I have never had such an enjoyable education experience and I am very sad to leave Albemarle. My parents have been so pleased with this school that they will send my younger sister there in the coming academic year.

My two-year journey in Albemarle goes so fast! I’m so impressed by the fantastic environment here. Besides the professional teachers, the students are extremely welcoming and helpful. I took three A-level subjects which are maths, further maths and physics and ended up getting into my dream uni which is imperial college London. My curricular manager(James Eytle) helped a lot to modify my personal statement and prepare for unis’ interview. The studies of further maths and physics are quite challenging. My maths&further maths teacher Beverly spent a lot of time answering our questions after normal class time and setting mocks to practice our exam technique and time management skills. My physics teacher James Hilder is really responsible. He is always around the college for us to ask questions so that it helps me to solve my questions in homework immediately. Thanks so much to my teachers and classmates, hope everyone does A-levels will get amazing results!

Brilliant college located in the heart of london. I didn't quite make good enough grades in my GCSEs and seemed like my days were over until I heard about Albemarle. Albemarle gave me a second chance. They offer help to students that need it, the sense of warmth and openness around the college is fantastic and how approachable the staff are is over and above the requirements. If you're looking for somewhere to start/ finish your a levels, you will not regret it if u choose Albemarle.

I came to Albemarle after not getting the A Levels I was hoping for, and the school exceeded all expectations. The teaching was thorough and all teachers went out of their way to help you as much as they possibly could. The class sizes were nice and small, and the college is in a great location. I’ve now got into my first choice university and I owe a lot of that to Albemarle.

I joined Albemarle at 16 to study my A-levels and my experience here as a student shaped me to be the person I am today. If your looking for somewhere to study and come out with not only good grades but a great life experience in prep for university or working life this is definitely the place to go.

Requiring a year out to resit your A-levels is a difficult undertaking for any student. Many colleges in London offer students the opportunity to get their academics back on track - but few offer an experience like Albemarle.
Fantastic teaching throughout the college, coupled with endless opportunity for individual feedback with teachers allowed me to excel. It's location in the heart of London provides a completely unique environment to both learn and relax. I would recommend it to any student.

Had an amazing two years at Albemarle college. It has a great learning environment, the staff is friendly and extremely helpful. I thourghly enjoyed all four of my subjects. Excellent guidance from my personal tutor/curriculum manager allowed me to fulfil my potential. Extra-curricular activities such as the badminton club and the debating club further enhanced my experience at Albemarle.

Teachers at Albemarle are great. I moved to the college for my AS Levels and after struggling with maths throughout school, Beverley made it so simple for me, thoroughly and clearly explaining all of the different concepts and topic areas. Today I’ve just got my results and come out with all A’s, including a great score in Maths!

Even though I only stayed at Albemarle college for the one year A Level intensive course, I received a huge amount of support from all the teachers in all the departments. Having come from a school where they shook the confidence within me and told me I am not allowed to carry on with Biology and Chemistry for my A levels, I had seriously thought I was incompetent to go down the route of sciences in my future career. In AS level (in my previous school) I had received 2 Cs and 1 D in Biology, Maths and Chemistry. I ended up at A Level with 3 Bs. I honestly believe without the help of all the teachers especially Beverley I wouldn't have been able to achieve those results. For people previously stating they receive no help it is because simply if you want to work hard then all the teachers will be available to you. For example throughout my whole year at Albemarle, I would probably say that I spent 20% of my time in Beverley's office asking her for help in Maths and never did she say no to me. I genuinely thank everyone who has taught me at Albemarle this year.

My son attended Albemarle from September 2017-summer 2018. We liked the teachers from the moment we first met them. The school has a very personal warmth that made me feel as though they cared about my son's outcome and were keen to support him in any way they could. They always found time to chat whenever I had concerns, and made sure that my son stayed on track. He has just got A*/A/A (we're hoping that that becomes 2 A* following re-mark), and we're utterly delighted by the experience. Thanks to Beverley and her team.

I have been studying at Albemarle College since September 2015 when I moved from SouthAfrica to London.
As a student living alone the college took extra care by checking up on my well being and how i am coping living alone. The college gives its students an adult enviorment by allowing them to use their free periods as they wish however if the monthly mocks grades aren't achieved, mandatory study periods is given and evening study might be added.
At the college you have a personal tutor and curriculum manager to monitor your monthly progress and give you a hand when needed. i am currently doing my personal statement and my tutor sees me daily to see if i need any help. I really like the small class sizes of 4-8 students as it allows students to get more individual help.
i would recommend this college to anyone looking to study in an academically disciplined environment where all students get to know each other really quickly and the teachers and Principals are very caring.

My two-year study at Albemarle has just come to an end.Albemarle is definitely the place for those who want to excel in academic.Finding teachers for help can't be more common here.Attending study sessions( non-compulsory )arranged by teachers was a wonderful way to spend my half-term and Easter holidays.
Mohnish Sharma, who taught me economics, has always been responsible and dedicated. He is not only exceptionally good at explaining absure economic concepts but also trys to shape our economic thinking by finding news and video clips for us to watch. Thanks to him I progressed from an E to A* in Economics.

I came here for a Sixth Form interview and to experience about an hour in the life of the students here, and this place felt right at home to me. Compared to other schools, the small atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. From what I’ve experienced, the student community here is extremely mature, light-hearted and friendly.
When I first saw the school, I was a bit unimpressed with the exterior, and I suppose that’s due to the way I’ve become accustomed to modern looking buildings compared to this school, which is situated in Central London. However, the interior made up for it entirely - although it would seem small, it’s actually rather spacious, and people are usually allowed to leave the premises during their free time. Even so, it’s easy to find people when need be (each of them seems to follow their own agenda), and the two years set up their own society of students, many of whom are known for different aspects of learning, or possess extracurricular or social skills.
Obviously due to the nature of this school as an independent school, the nature of the students is very different to a public school: there is a rich atmosphere, and everyone here actually wants to learn - something you don’t see often. Due to the relatively small community, you’ll get to recognise most of the year, and from what I can tell, competition near the top is fierce but friendly!
Fortunately, due to the presence (and comparatively high concentration) of extremely bright people, it’s not easy to get bored here. Challenge is high, and due to the nature of A-Levels, everyone is here to work together and help each other succeed. Exam results are great, and if you’re ambitious enough, Oxbridge, Imperial and top universities are a serious consideration. From what I'm aware, the SAT, UKCAT and BMAT programs involve extensive question practice to ensure that students are prepared for such tests.
If you have the money (or the financial support) and you want to succeed and have the most supportive environment, I’d say go for it. Albemarle will not disappoint. I haven't studied here yet, and with regret, it's unlikely I will in the end, but the impression this school has left on me with both its teaching system and its society is long-lasting.
Not only that, but even after I informed them that I would not enrol for Year 12, they gave me a friendly phone call in June to catch up, discuss where I was and just generally have a nice talk about academic progress – which I think is very nice of them to do. Now that's what I call personalised discussion!
Oh, and one more thing – never be led to believe that a good school is a substitute for working hard. No matter how effective the school is, your A-Levels depend on your making sure that you get them in the end.

Albemarle offers a prositive learning environment with small class sizes suitable for focused learning. Teacher tuition is centered on the students, who are able to fully participate in class discussion which helps alot!

I visited Albemarle College last month for an interview with one of their Principals (Mr Eytle). They made me feel very welcome and answered all my queries. The facilities provide such a friendly atmosphere and I can't wait to start in September!

Got into my first choice university (King's College) thanks to the school, excellent teachers, and all the guidance throughout my A-levels. Highly recommend.
P.S. Special thanks to my Psychology teacher Ashley Richardson for the interesting class discussions. It was truly a pleasure.

An inspiring learning environment where students are encouraged to learn and develop both academically and personally. I had one of the best experiences that contributed to my personal growth and set me up for success for my university study. I highly recommend it.

Albebemarle and especially Beverly gave our son his confidence back, small classes and student centred teaching, don't expect mollycoddling, you will have to put the effort in. Our son has just graduated with a high 2:1 degree from a top university. Thank you.
