This accommodation is absolutely beautiful,as student "digs" go,this must be the Harrods or Hilton of students homes! Unfortunately it shows the signs you'd expect from a group of late teens/early twenty something's, living alone for probably the first time since the family home, learning to cook and being able to leave the washing up/dishwasher without being moaned at.....and many more scenarios we can all envisage!! If the chance to be a resident in this accommodation is available to you, grab it with both hands as it's the nicest I've seen!!!!

OK, my daughter has just moved in to the woodlands at Dagfa and I know how hard it was to find any info on it and get a viewing. It's one of the newest uni owned units near to campus but still in need of a little tlc. The premium standard townhouse rooms are bigger in size than just standard but that is only difference. Be aware so you don't have to buy pans twice like we did, kitchens have induction hobs. Generally, though good standard for student accommodation.

Above average student accommodation as the building is relatively new. Pros; the buildings are new and the security is good with staff onsite 24hours a day. The location is good as it is close to the university campus, Beeston town centre is a short walk away and there is good access to public transport. Cons; as you would expect, shows some signs of wear and tear. The rooms are very small with limited storage and there are only stairs to access the bedrooms which are also narrow and quite steep. The ground floor kitchen is small as well with limited storage space for food and cookware. The cookers have induction hobs so only the more expensive induction cookware will work with them. Beds are quite basic and uncomfortable. There are rubbish bins onsite but there are no recycling facilities.

Nice place to stay for university students, university isn't that far away! The rooms(if staying by yourself) are decent in a way. But, when I first stepped into the room the light switches annoyed me deeply! 👌

It’s a very good place because we have a big kitchen and living room. It’s near the west gate of uni. It’s very convenient for me.

Perfect accommodation! Nice facilities in the rooms and common areas and the walls are soundproof in the Woodlands. Warm-hearted staff are always there to help us. There are always desserts and surprises every time we go to the reception! Really close to the university. Best choice for university students!

The rooms are modern and minimal, making you feel comfortable spending time in them. The staff is always kind and willing to help and deal with any issue that arise. The common rooms are really nice and there are also study rooms that can be really useful during exam period. The surrounding area is really beautiful as safe as well.
One problem though is the out of working hours service, the responsible people (different from the members of the staff) do not seem to pay attention to the problems that occur. I hope that this will be improved next year.

Advantages of the accommodation:
- very close to the University of Nottingham Campus (walking distance)
- located in a safe area near pedestrian zone in Beeston (2 large supermarkets, 1 discount store, some independent shops and cafes)
- the townhouses form a kind of village and especially for students who are spending their first year in Nottingham a good starting point to meet people outside of their studies
- modern and new houses with a large number of bathrooms (2 students share one bathroom), well equipped kitchen and large common rooms
- the property team is always ready to help and has an open ear for problems, furthermore the reception is manned 5 days a week and there is always someone on site to accept parcels safely
- moving in went very smooth and easy, especially if you move to Nottingham from far away, it is very easy to book a room online and administration was very straightforward
Disadvantages of the accommodation:
- the laundry area is shared with over 200 students and is only equipped with 3 washing machines and 3 dryers, which can lead to queuing (especially on weekends) for washing; furthermore, washing is very expensive (the cheapest laundry including drying adds up to at least 5 pounds)
- lack of shelter for bicycles and the frequency of rain in Nottingham causes permanent damage to bicycles, also poor or no parking facilities for cars
- it must be considered that it is a student residence, which means that windows cannot be opened further than a gap, due to security locks; also there are very frequent inspections checking for the cleanliness of the houses and private rooms, which is absolutely necessary, but due to the frequency of these inspections the privacy is disturbed when compared to a privately rented apartment
In principle, I can recommend moving to Dagfa Park and many thanks to the property team for their efforts.
