B. E.Everything about the site, from the rooms to the communal spaces are so modern and kept to an incredible standard. My daughter stayed here for her final year in 2019 and now -even in her Masters studies outside of Plymouth- she thinks about her time spent at Astor House. We haven't come across any other private halls with as welcoming and accommodating team members. They are all so friendly and truly seem to want to provide the best for their residents.
N.Moving into Astor House was a great decision. It is in a perfect location and I felt very welcomed. I feel safe here and the rooms are lovely, cosy very well designed and so are all the facilities provided.
I would love to give a huge shout out and thank you to the staff who are the most amazing team you'll ever meet. There are staff 24/7 and they go above and beyond. I appreciate you all soo much :). I highly recommend Astor House :)
F. B.Best student accommodation in Plymouth. It's modern, clean, always felt safe and definitely value for your money. The beds are very comfortable and there are lots of storage place. The staffs were always super helpful and friendly and we were always receiving treats. It's been a great pleasure living here, definitely will miss the place. Thanks guys!
S. M.Putting Astor House as my top choice for accommodation was a great decision - I don’t regret choosing to live here at all. The room is spacious and you have unbelievable amounts of storage space. The bathroom is so clean and a great sized en-suite. The staff are so friendly and always on hand to help. Whenever I’ve had any minor issues the reception team have reported it immediately and the maintenance team have been up in minutes to try and fix it. Thank you to the Astor House team!
S. H.Great place to meet up with people as the common areas are all cosy and there’s plenty of things to do. I really like the purple colour scheme and modern design of the rooms, and the fact there is so much storage and desk space! The staff are so lovely and there is someone there 24/7 if you need anything. Maintenance are great and any issues I’ve had are resolved super fast. Love it here would definitely recommend!
S. W.My year here was amazing, the 24/7 security/reception was a huge help to this as there was always someone there. But the social areas really made it amazing, being able to chill on the sofas in the lounge, or on the bean bags in the common room was just so homely. Everything just made this place a home. Would happily stay here again if I had the choice. The team behind the reception were so friendly too, always there and always friendly. Fully deserved of the 5/5 rating.
V. K. (.Origanally moved here as i wanted to live off campus and after spending a couple of years here i can only recommend. For courses based at the marine station it is extremely convenient! The staff has always been great organising events(pre covid) and are always giving out freebies.
H. P.Please take into consideration that all these 5 star reviews would have been left in September 2016 when Astor House was running a competition to win things if we left good reviews...... I am currently living here and my room is great, has everything I need and want, its only a bronze en suite but still bigger than I thought. Lovely staff and facilities. I personally like the position as it is a 10-15 min walk to uni and probably the only exercise i get. However, my curtain was not fixed to the wall when I moved in and took them 2 months to fix it, we still have problems in the kitchen which have been there since we arrived and we are worried we will lose our deposits if they think we have broken these things!! Washing etc a rip off! £4.10 i think. Post is not secure. No surface space in the kitchen as the worktop has no free area due to sinks/hobs and the island in the middle taken up by one flat members stuff/alcohol. Make sure you visit Astor before booking and book one of the rooms with an actual view otherwise, like me you will end up with your curtain shut 24/7 unless you want to look into everyone elses room (its a U shaped building with courtyard) and also the noise!!!!!! Lift breaks a lot, once a week probably... If you do want to live here book through prodigy living its cheaper than through the uni

J. F.I have lived here whilst being at uni for the past 7 months and have had the best experience! It's a 10 minute walk from the shopping centres, 15 mins from uni and situated right by the Hoe so scenery is never short. The accommodation is all modern and stylish with en suite bathrooms. The place holds social events and competitions, along with free breakfast and treats on certain days! There is also security and a maintenance person on site at all times - an added bonus for if you ever get locked out! Highly recommend if you're looking for one of the best uni accommodations around!

After an amazing and fuss free first year, me and all of my flatmates have decided to stay at Astor for our second due to the convenience of the location of this accommodation and the staff being friendly and welcoming. If you're coming to Plymouth university any time soon I would advise you to not even hesitate when booking Astor as your main accommodation
C. M.ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Best accommodation, they got us a bouncy castle, the staff are lovely and very helpful. Pick Astor for 2018 it's the nicest accommodation and not even that much more expensive than the other student halls in Plymouth :)
E. B.THE best halls I've ever seen!!! They definitely put their students first!! Accomodating the students wants and needs perfectly!!! Loads of event to welcome and make student feel at home for their first (or second) year of university!! The balance of social and revision areas are perfect with the sky lounge, a perfect quiet area to revise or relax. The games room and laundry area being both a communal and practical area for all students needs! Will definitely recommend this to future students or even returning students! The easy access to the university is perfect as it is only a 7 minute walk to campus and a small 2 minute walk to the main shopping area. The halls are located near the beautiful Barbican with views of the hoe from the sky lounge. So any students wanting that coastal feel aren't missing out! Overall, an incredible halls for students at around £149 for a well sized bronze suit with a large desk area and 3/4 sizes bed with a full sized bathroom, all bills included! Definitely recommended - I will be in flat 125 this year and I cannot wait!!

They also have a really great common room, and table tennis tournaments are getting competitive! 😁 overall definitely the best student accommodation in Plymouth!
R. F.Astor House is by far the best student accommodation in Plymouth. All the staff are friendly and kind and definitely know how to cater to all the students here. The staff at Astor are really reliable and always deliver great events and service which makes living here worth while !
D. H.Staff here are great, very helpful and friendly. Rooms are of good size and everything is modern and well designed. All rooms have an En-suite and have a great shower. Plenty of events going on arranged by the staff and student ambassadors for you to take part in. Security is good and staff are always on hand if any problems may arise.
Multiple common rooms which include 2 large TV's with freeview, a pool table and table tennis table and vending machine. On site laundry services are expensive but handy to have nearby.
Perfect for any student who has a student loan that can cover the rent costs as it is a fair bit more expensive that most student accommodation, but definitely worth the extra money if you want a comfortable first year where you can meet loads of friendly people. It is also private from the university which means you can rebook and get a discount if you stay for your 2nd and 3rd years!
Overall easily the best student accommodation in Plymouth!
S.Really friendly and helpful staff there 24/7, decent distance from the main shopping areas of Plymouth and the uni (less than five mins walk), exceptional rooms of reasonable size even the small ones. Overall a really good place to live very save and very close to the sea too.

The accommodation is absolutely fantastic in terms of style, design and upkeep. I love modern architecture and the colour purple, so the aesthetic is certainly something that I think is awesome. Great en-suites bathrooms too, powerful showers and spacious 3/4 size beds.
It's also super easy to keep your room clean as they provide vacuum cleaners to borrow. The only thing I would say is that I've had a bit of a kerfuffle with the laundry. Someone thought it would be a good idea to stain their jeans using the tumble dryers and unfortunately ruined a lot of my clothes (so still a little afraid to use them tbh).
Aside from a few things that have been frustrating, the overall benefits of the fantastic location, very quick response time from the maintenance guys and just general positives about the place far outweigh the few annoyances I've had over the last couple of months.

E. C.Staying at Astor House was the best decision I made regarding going to Plymouth University. The building and rooms itself are fantastic and spacious and everyone that comes round from other halls is jealous. Everything is modern and up to date. Any problems you have are sorted immediately, the maintanece team come within two days. The staff work really hard to ensure you’re having a good time and go out of there way to get to know you. Theres always events going on and living at Astor is like a community because you can socialise with everyone in different flats, common room and sky lounge.

Despite having a shopping centre close-by and amazing views right outside your door, the rooms here are also much bigger than I imagined plus the staff are really friendly and approachable! K. G.Staff are wonderful, very welcoming and extrememely helpful. In my experience, they sort out maintenance issues within a day of them occurring. Situated by the Hoe and Barbican it provides great places for you to go with friends. It's not too far from the city centre either, or for that matter, the university so location is perfect. They put on plenty of events throughout the year and make the stay here amazing!

B. S.Possibly the best halls going. Staff are very useful, there is always someone around to lend a hand plus they even gave me a new bike lock when I lost my own. Nicely located next to the hoe and the 15min walk to campus wakes you up nicely for those 9am lectures.

Being a private halls, there are benefits such as free bacon baps on a Friday morning to get you through that 9am lecture, to the common room with a free to play pool table, ps4 and ping pong table. Astor house is a home away from home and it's so perfect I've rebooked for second year!
