Reviews of Edinburgh PDSA Pet Hospital
A. S.
Excellent emergency out of hours/weekend vets. Needed some antibiotics for one of our dogs, quick diagnosis, staff were great. Lots of off street quiet parking, large waiting room.
C. M.
We had to use this service for end of life care for our beautiful English cocker spaniel Ola, it was a heart breaking decision, but best for our wonderful girl.
Kerry the vet was so patient kind and considerate, of our wishes and Rebecca was lovely too, taking paw prints for us.
We will be through to see you, it's just been such a big loss and adjustment.
We are ever so grateful for the painless passing of our beloved pet.
Kind regards Carole and Frank Mccaffery.
N. K.
Fantastic service offered to myself and dog. Vet Andrew King was exceptional and handled my dog with care. After receiving shocking treatment from previous vets who mishandled and pre-judged my large breed dog I was pleasantly surprised by the attention and care offered by Andrew. Thank-you very much
L. S.
I've had my dog Lexi here a few times now, and I honestly can't fault them. They have taken such good care of her. She is generally very nervous of vets, but these guys are so good and so patient with her. I cannot thank them enough for all their help.
S. M.
I saw someone say something about dodgy people in waiting room! This is a brilliant charity that is the saviour and salvation for many pets over decades and this person can only find that inside him/her self to say. That's a real shame. My dogs life has been saved at Edinburgh pdsa. Please lets all Give what you can to these amazing people.
L. B.
Dropped one star simply because of the vet that dealt with me, Ben. His attitude towards me was not at all pleasant. Almost as though he thought by using the Pdsa service I did not deserve a pet. He never listened to anything I had to say and verbally cut me off every time I tried to say anything. I got made to feel bad for being too gentle when cleaning my cats ear (after having an operation on it) sorry I’m too gentle and sorry I am working single handed as I am recovering from a broken wrist.
The rest of the staff here are amazingly warm and friendly, super competent and wonderful in a crisis which is what you need when your best friend is poorly.
D. H.
Wonderful service& a life saver for many distressed pet owners. Gr8 to see pets welfare being put before profit& quick and efficient appointments too. Can't thank staff& organisation enough for their help.
S.
I can not recommend the staff enough. We have had to use them a few times over the years with various pets and no matter the issue, they have always gone beyond what is needed whether it was something as minor as our dog being stung or explaining when it was serious issues.
P. M.
Waited a long time but got my dog sorted in the end much appreciated
C. E. L.
Great staff. Emergency vets to help with out of hours events. You can Call to get advice over the phone or appointment. Expect delays as they are the only emergency vet in the area.
d. s.
This place is a life saver sometimes when your down on your luck, when your out of work and have no money yet your dog gets unwell and normally it would be hundreds of pounds to get him treatment, him being as much a part of your family as your children seeing him in pain not eating or drinking, where your worried sick and yet someone tells you about a Place where you can bring your dog I.e family member and they will treat him not only free of charge (will gratefully accept any donation you can afford only if possible) but with much loving and care, well this is unbelievable and we can't explain just how much gratitude and love we have for the staff at the PDSA To see Alfie (our Lhasa Apso) going from sadness looking at you with so much pain in his eyes too running around tail wagging jumping on you licking you eating drinking and loving you again well that's just priceless, and for this we have the PDSA to thank 😊 This vets and its staff are the best I can not thank them enough, the heartache and worry seeing our dog hiding away from us and not eating or drinking was unbelievable and yet 48hrs later that heartache has turned to joy the day before Xmas and we feel like we have been given the best Xmas present you could ever give our Alfie back to normal ❤.
A. Y.
All the staff were brilliant from the moment we got there to the moment we left, very helpful and sympathetic even when our dog peed on the floor ,can't thank the pdsa enough thanks again
L. C.
Very pleased with all staff on reception and vets especially Vet Andrew King is amazing with my wee dog Teddy and his treatment, Many thanks
C. W. 1.
I went to get my wee dog checked out as found some lumps on her kneck so went and she said it was cancer im devastated by this. But the staff were 1000% so kind to me and u couldn't ask for a more professional person who were great helping me with her.
C. M.
My friends dog Bella was there after heavy bleeding last Wednesday.
We thought she would just have some medication but she needed surgery to remove her womb as it was so infected.
Kindness above and beyond.
Professionalism above and beyond.
Thank you so much.
L. D.
Excellent service. The vet knew what was wrong with my dog within seconds and explained everything in plain English. I had time to ask all the questions I had.
J. G.
Very helpful quickly treated pup with wood lodged in roof of mouth
R. H.
Helped my cat out of hours emergencies, very grateful for that. Could do with improving customer care though! You're wrong about the cats not needing their human parents in the consulting rooms though as I've noticed that with another vet that now covid restrictions are lifting she's much better with me in the consulting room and likes me close as separated a bit too young from her mum. Vets Now are dreadful. Glad PDSA exists but wish they were friendlier. Also if overloaded offer more help by phone and antibiotic etc. Help people help themselves.
G. W.
My dog bella was dying and she was treated with upmost respect, the lady vet was very very understanding and kind and sympathetic with my whole family, very high praise to this lady x
A. L.
Emergency care for my cat on a Sunday evening. Amazing kind helpful caring team. Thankyou so much for everything you done for my zacky
L. H.
Great service,so appreciate all they do for my dog, always happy when he's had check ups
L. R.
They were so helpful with my little cat teetee who sadly passed away with cancer, the pdsa were amazing right to the very end. Thank you.
G. P.
I've used this place for nearly 20yrs and cannot fault it they've been great with my pets through the yrs and at end of life. Will certainly carry on using them.
T. V.
Thank you so much to all the staff at the practice for helping people like me be able to care better for our furbabies
M. L.
Amazing people and vets. Every single person who works there is so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. They've helped me and my furry baby twice in emergency and he's alive thanks to them. I also love the idea and principles. Great place full of great vets whom do everything to help your animal.
C. L.
Very difficult time but staff was very helpful and friendly. Everything was explained well and very easily understood. We had a wait but we were squeezed in as an emergency so that was both expected but also we had been advised before hand too. We are very lucky that pdsa is available to is I can't thank them enough.
S. D.
Highly recommend this lovely caring hospital..had to get an emergency appointment when my beautiful 💖 cat Robyn of 13 years took suddenly I'll 😔😔😔 the staff were quick thinking and relaxed myself and Robyn..but unfortunately Robyn had a massive tumor and was too big to remove..the nurses were round her giving her cuddles when they put her to sleep..can't ask for anymore than that.. they helped me with organisation a private individual cremation and also having Robyn's ashes returned home to me..Thanku 😘😘😘
J. M. C.
Great service, friendly staff. An example to follow. For me there’s only a problem: it’s almost impossible to talk to an human on the phone.
M. M.
So nice and friendly. Took good care of my staffy Luna 🥰
A. K.
I am speechless!!! So professional and so kind people working. I have never felt more understood and supported. Thank you all, from great reception to lovely Vets!
D. W.

d. l.
Great staff friendly and great with ur pets. Limited parking if busy
K. P.
Whats not to recommend about this out of hours service, for your sickly pets. Real people doing a fantastic job. helping pets and owners across central Scotland. Highly recommend to anyone with a sick or injured pet.
Exceptional customer service and Expertise.
A.
A fab, friendly wee hospital, definitely for pets in need of vets (as advertised!). Although they have a backlog of appointments, my little pup was seen very quickly (make sure to book your appointment over the phone), & we were treated with kindness :). The vet was very gentle, and my pup was right as rain within a few days.
Treatment cost next to nothing, but I would really advise people to donate as generously as possible. This is an amazing service for pets whose humans are on low incomes/can't afford expensive treatment, and we'd be lost without it.
s. H.
This place is quite literally a life saver, they have treated my little dog gino for around 8 months although today he lost his battle. They have been consistent and caring and in my experience are there because they care and not for the cash. I don't know what I would do with out them. Thank you everyone.
J. N.
When you have a sick 4 month old kitten on a Saturday who doesn't look like hes going to make it to Monday, where can you go? Some expert help from these friendly folk and a week later theres been a massive turnaround. So grateful to them.
M. L.
Found a Dog on the Pentland Hills.
Rang them up to asked if they could do a microchip scan.
They said to come straight away.
Extreamly helpful and polite staff.
Fortunately he had a microchip and was reunited with the owner.
N. N.
We took dog here after eating grapes. Better care than I get. :)
P.
Vets and reception staff are wonderful here. I've had 3 of my animals here in the 6+ years as a pet owner, and when one of my beloved family members were ready to gain his wings, they were professional and sympathetic, they explained all the process to me and made the process more comfortable to cope with. Even my hamster had an amputated leg and she was well looked after here, I can say that my animals would be in safe hands if ever they needed PDSA again (touch wood they dont). Staff make you welcome and inform you of every step of every part of the treatment. I am glad that the PDSA exist :)
Thankyou once again PDSA for looking after my pets!
P. L.
Good service, to he older receptionist with glasses and grey hair is very rude, and discussed my benefits with me from the other side of the room so the whole waiting room knew my business. They are good in the respect that they help animals but that receptionist needs a new job
W. M.
The staff were fantastic. They showed massive kindnesses to society most valuable people whom love there pets. There were a few folk upset with there pets illness. And the staff were all so calm. Such a nice environment.
T. D.

G. M.

K. T.
Cannot praise every single member of the pdsa team enough. They are so kind and professional and despite being extremely busy they remain calm. Please remember to donate more than you can afford which will still be a miniscule fraction of the bill.
I. C.
The people who works up there are amazing! But to make appointment right now if you need to, are impossible! My cat been so ill, I've spend on the phone two days, no one was responded 😔
S. R.
Made a mad dash here with our cat after she became ill during the night. They were very busy and we had to wait half an hour after out appointment time but once they seen her they were very thorough and we got to take her home 20 minutes later with antibiotics. Wonderful, caring friendly staff who took time to answer a barrage of questions from a very upset, concerned hooman. Now registered with this group for future appointments, hope not needed but just to be on the safe side.
J. C.
Very caring . Took time to listen to lili's problems
r.
Fantastic staff and fantastic care of animals. This charity deserves so much more charity donations.they we're great with my mums cat who was kept in overnight for investigations. Where we be without these these wonderful nurses and vets the whole team. If I won they lottery I would give a big donation to the pdsa.
A. M.
The vets and staff are very pleasant and helpful, always a long wait, despite that they are a great charity that depends on donations, great place.
A. h.
The pdsa have a great reputation simply because you couldn't get any better.
M. M.
U have been absolutely WONDERFUL in the care and compassion shown to wee Brodie over the past two weeks. Michael King (vet) was just LOVELY, and, very reassuring. I so trusted him in his devoted care of Brodie. THANX so much to all of you. I wish there were more peoole like all of you in this world
G. M.
5* Vets helped my little Poppy bear when she was on her last legs with something trapped in her small intestine, now shes running about and full of beans 💜
A. B.
Fantastic service, caring , loving & worth there weight in gold . Would not take my kitten Baby Padme anywhere else. 😚
L. P.
Excellent service. Kind and neeeded! Donate as much or whatever you can from newspaper to clothes! Remember they are a charity! Just brilliant! Best vet yet!
s. s.
service excellent as always .. we rely on our PDSA so much as experienced has taught us through the pandemic.. thank so much to all the Vets and Staff for the help they give to our fur pets where would we be without you .. 💗
S. J. (.
A great charity that really cares. Unbelievable that some folk don't think they should donate anything towards their pet's treatment! Update June 22: can now get a face to face appointment for medical issues, by submitting an online form which is assessed. No masks were present in the waiting room which bothered me somewhat, but the vets still wear them. Social distancing with seating was still mostly practiced.
N. O.
Fantastic service, saved my cat when my vet was charging an arm and a leg for diagnostics.
N. Y.
Absolutely brilliant service from
Start to finish and also saved our dogs life thank you very much to all staff and the service was 100 percent on top form thank you from

D. B.
The kindness of the staff when my elderly cat died was wonderful
J. G.
Brilliant. They were so helpful and considerate to us and caring and loving to our degus. Well done all of you and thank you so much.
S. D.
We had to take our cat here after an accident and couldn't have asked for better service. Polite and courteous staff all throughout. Genuinely felt like they cared about our pet. Haven't had to chase for an update. Been keep informed at all times, just today had update 3 times. We had to chase our last vet for any information.
I'll definitely be supporting the pdsa and be bring my other pets here also
C. M.

J. M.
I cannot thank the pdsa enough for operating on my kitten and making her well again. Honestly don't know what I would've done if it wasn't for them.
M. H.
The treatment they gave my dog was amazing knew my doggie wasn't leaving there with me 💔💔
D.
Staff very helpful and considerate of your pet. only downside is i had to wait an hour outside the practice with some very sick pets even though i had an emergency app at 2pm . Also very difficult to see pet owners leave in distress without there pet. my heart goes out to them
R. C.
would 100% recommend this vet very clean and a lot more affordable they saved my dogs life after being rushed in for emergency surgery very responsive with updates ect vets all supportive and kind only downside I have is when I first phoned to register my dog the receptionist was pretty snappy and ignorant
Big love to the vets that saved and helped my baby girl
R. B. H.
Excellent attention as usual. Everyone so friendly and helpful and good to see the waiting room in use again but is entirely optional for folk with appointments. I was glad to be able to use the loo as well and Mo Tharbh ( the patient) was given a drink of water by one of the very caring desk staff. Very happy with all the expert help and advice from the Vet I saw and the much-needed anti-biotics and anti-inflammatory /pain medication I was given on the day (Wed 20th Oct) for Mo Tharbh's leg infection + the Buster collar that was thrown in for good measure to stop him re-infecting the wound. All round a happy and reassuring visit for me & my pet. Thank you Pdsa workers for all the good work you are doing. Don't think for a minute it isn't appreciated because it most certainly is. A resounding 10/10 again. Yours respectfully

Phoned them on Sunday morning as our dogs time had come. Regular vet couldn’t see her until late afternoon and there was no way I would have let her go on that long. Took a few times phoning to get an answer but when I did they were very compassionate and helpful. Arranged everything over the phone and when she went there it was all done very quickly, within an hour of me getting through on the phone. A horrible situation to go through made a little easier with their help.
D.
When my big dog collapsed, we were rushed in, staff were very sympathetic, very professional, told us the bad news that he had a tumur the size of a orange in his chest, allowed us to take him home gave us 24hrs with him. Thank you for everything g you do.
i. p.
These dedicated people do a fantastic job. we had to say goodbye to our beautiful cat Max on New Years Eve and they were so understanding and helpful.
We can't thank them enough.
N. M.
First class care, friendly polite receptionist, clean waiting room
S. S.
I had to take my dog here to be put to sleep and the staff couldn't have been better. The vet was incredible, he explained everything to me, I got the genuine feeling that they really cared for the animals and looked after them.
J. H.
Our first experience today (26 June/2021) and the staff and Vet could not have been more helpful or friendly.
Wee man not so happy about being at the "Doggie Doctor" but he could not have been in better hands - Thank you 💕
NB: Clients are not allowed onsite on Saturdays, you need to wait in your Car and they will phone you.
H. C.
My older dog took a massive fit in the early morning at home in WestLothian. By the time we arrived he had gone to Rainbow Bridge.
The staff were so kind and caring.
They didn't know us or Harry but we felt like family. They gave us as much time as we needed to say goodbye.
It was a terribly violent end to the life of a gentle, joyous soul.
They made it easier to bear.
And the card with the seeds in it was a lovely touch.
Don't be afraid if you need to use them out of hours. They were considerate and treated us all, including Harry, with respect,
V. O.
I've had to use this place for my dogs when I've had no work. Always a friendly reception and very helpful. Sometimes there's a bit of a queue to check in so best to arrive early for your appointment. The vets and nurses are very attentive and knowledgeable.
C. F.
The staff are this hospital and so kind and professional. I had to get my old cat put to sleep today, and was treated with real kindness and respect by the vet. This truly is an invaluable service.
W. C.
Staff there were absolutely excellent with my sick Cat. They explained his new diet plan and medication. This charity, in my opinion, is the best charity ever. Their services mean I'm able to keep a pet. My Cat is my life and the help they offer to pet owners on benefit is unparalleled. Totally wonderful people.
W. C.
Only taking emergencies but promised and did phone us at home, listened to symptoms to pet and immediately prescribed medicine which will be posted to us. Like all services, they are doing as good a job as is humanity possible. Don't forget PDSA.
H. B.
The staff here are empathetic and very compassionate and understanding of all your pets needs. They handle things fantastically, always listen to your input and questions answering them to the best of thier ability. They will ALWAYS explain any procedures your pet will have to go through during any operation. One of the best volunteer services to take your pet when ill with minor ailments or worse. In my experience the staff have always been friendly and welcoming.
D. M.
Always there when I need help at my hand
D. H.
It's understandable why this place is always busy, the staff are great and pets are well taken care off.
Thank you for treating my cat at a reduced cost as I would not have been able to afford full price treatment. My cat is now doing well on insulin for his diabetes.
G. C.
Amazing place with amazing people Reception ladies were so friendly and helpful and the doctor vet I saw was very thorough with my dog First class Thanks
S. S.
Very difficult to get them on the phone from their opening time at 09:00am till 17:05pm when I finally got through to make an appointment for my very sick cat as the phone was constantly engaged. (bare in mind the place shuts for normal service at 6pm) The sad part is when you get into the center the vets and the nurses are amazing, compassionate and respectful, I can not fault their care for my pets. I just wish I could say the same for the people answering the phones. I would give the nurses and vets 10/10, reception needs a bit more work though.
A. T.
Lucy was amazing and the doctor whom saw dazzle was so great I wa so thankful for them my dog had cut paw I could have cryed for my baby dazzle my 6th boy he loves my children they're all brother but Lucy really reassured me about dazzle. However the next day when I called up the lady whom answered the phone had a bad attitude problem I felt like a child getting a telling off for eating sweetie she would not Evan care for what I had to say as cause of where his paw the paw was cut Lucy told me to call to arrange appointment but that women was not having it at all overall. Its was Lucy and the lady doctor who was absolutely brilliant thankyou so much.
M. P.
Very caring professional service. The staff are all amazing.
V. L.
The ppl at the pdsa have helped pets of mine on numerous emergency situations over the past 25 years. They are amazing and without them my puppy would have died when she was run over and our old dog would have died as a pup when he was bitten on the head by an adult dog. Because of the good ppl at the pdsa one dog lived to 13 and the other to 19. They just operated on my cat as he had a broken toe that was infected. I think they just saved his life too as I couldn't afford my usual vets fees.
K. C.
Great vet for all of your pets needs. But really busy at the moment because of covid guidelines and them not having a full staff. Only emergency service is open to same day appointments.
A. A.
The receptionists and vets are amazing. They have so much compassion and empathy. My little dog has being going here since 2004. They ask for a small donation. I always make sure I give (what is enough) to cover them. I've heard stories of other vets not being very compassionate and charging the earth. I could not afford what most vets ask for however I can afford what the pdsa ask for. Thank you so much for all of your wonderful help over the years.
K. M.
The staff are fantastic and do a great job with limited funding.
Only down side is the weight can be 1and a half hours or upwards.
Not so great when you cant sit for more than 10 minutes because of disability. Only downside x
G. F.
Absolutely superb service from the staff at the PDSA, they looked after Kia with great care and attention. I love this place. They do a great job in looking after our pets and I for one can't thank them enough.
M. “.
Fantastic attention, can feel the animal lovers in all the staff my respect to the hospital and all the staff, have a great Christmas and New year
Maria Dominguez Cabrera
D. g.
Quick to get an appointment, seen my cat with care and made sure I understood how to give his medication
I. F. P.
Today, I sadly had to have my boxer put to sleep, I have never been to the PDSA before and my much loved boxer was treated with respect and dignity. Although I had a very hard decision to make, I was put at ease and the staff supported my decisions. I was also given a much needed private 5 minutes to say my own sweetdreams. Such a sad day for my family and I to loose such a special boxer, Lexi RIP 😭😭
W. K.
great staff always helpful with medication for one of my cats
C. F.
They are doing an amazing, fantastic job under very difficult situation.. Everything explained in detail, pet care wonderful.. Thank you all who work there. X
D. G.
We visited the PDSA Pet Hospital a few times over recent weeks, starting with an injury on a bank holiday when they were one of the few places open. They are also unusual in offering a 24-hour service, and we ended up returning to have our dog, by this time dehydrated, on an overnight drip. Staff are excellent and helpful, although some of them seem to do some very long shifts.
S. T.
Best care a very considerate. Tjis was.my cat Ozzy.
i. m.
My partners cat was severely ill & we didnt think he would make it. Pdsa was absolutely amazing & we had him home soon. Staff are amazing & friendly & we where kept fully up to date. Thanks for everything you done for Ninja
A. M.
Amazing place, amazing staff and all round amazing work. They do life saving treatment for a range of animals and all because they care. Absolutely outstanding work, cannot praise them enough for how much they have helped in saving our cats life.

It is charity run for people who cannot afford treatment for their pets, they treat all different types of pets form lizards to rats and mice, rabbits, dogs, cats, every pet you can think of they will help! Can't emphasize enough how amazing this place is!! 100% five stars from me ☆☆☆☆☆
D. J.
Were very good when I had to put my dog lucky to sleep.
b. m.
Absolutely spot on my dog was really ill and phoned them told to come straight in due to COVID could not go in as busy but they came out and took her and kept us updated every step of way she had to stay in hospital but that was ok discovered she had liver failure
A. H.
Very helpful staff. They really care about your pet, and treat your pet like a real person. Fantastic vets, and fantastic staff. Wonderful peaple. Can't thank them enough for the care that they gave to my pets now, and have given over the years :). Thank you!
n. a.
Great service & the vet was great to.
K. S.
Long wait to be seen but o
Lovely staff and can give advice about most pets. U can also get your other pets seen any medication given will be lower in price than with a high st vet. Must bo on one benefit or low paid though
B.
The vet's here are 1st class. My dog was being "examined" by a private vet,2 blood samples,2 urine samples, shaved for a body scan and £900 in the space of 3 weeks and no result, they wanted to do more tests.!!!
PDSA 2 urine samples.=answer "your dog has had a chill in his bladder, which is gone now.!! Got to remember the vet's here are
voluntary,A labour of love for these people.
Thank You P.D.S.A
D. O.
Great place always busy and great for people who are on benefits who cant afford £100s for vet bills. Very friendly staff and vet was brilliant. They take a donation. It takes a while to get through on the phone so you have to keep trying as they are always busy
G. W.
Extremely expensive. However staff are professional yet friendly and caring.
I won't hesitate to use their services again.
g. m.
Staff very helpful ,considerate and extremely knowledgeable .Having " Charity " status , this organisation relies on public donations to provide the care necessary when our pets require attention for whatever reason . Can not give them enough praise for the work they do .
C. L.
My whippet became very poorly late lasrnight after scavenging. The staff were brilliant, sympathetic and very caring. Can't emphasise enough how much I appreciate what they do.
s. r.
Had to take my dog today to be put to sleep staff were really nice and kind was allowed to stay with dog even though they have covid restrictions. They explained everything and made the experience easier
L. T.
Excellent service very caring vets nothings too much great staff
C. S.
I know that it can take sometime to get through on the phone, but they do a fantastic job for animal's in need! Remember they are a Charity! so could always do with donation's, food towels etc! but most of all when your loving pet is being treated remember it costs for treatment, so always give what you can.. You can donate all year round and it will be in your pet's name.🐕 🐀 😼
M. B.
Fantastic service though it is always busy. Be prepared to wait beyond your app time as emergencies cases can come in. Limited parking too. Great team of vets and nurses !
W. p.
Amazing Vets and Nurses....
This place has helped me and my pets out over the years....x
M. P.
Fantastic care and service. You guys do an amazing job well done
K. W.
Wonderful experienced staff and vets are amazing , great pet hospital for people on low incomes
L. E. M.
Jam packed with people and their dogs. Had to wait in a queue for 20 minutes, just to talk to the receptionist. (Was only buying cat food.) then had to wait another 20 minutes for them to "dispense" it. Even though it was substancely less in price than what I had previously paid for it (and a kilo more), I didn't like the long wait. I will go back, mainly fot the difference, in price, I'll make sure that I have more time allotted to buy the cat food.
R. F.
They really helped, kept Shih-Tsu safe there under monitoring for 24 hours, with iv, antibiotics, blood tests, urine test etc. They even bandaged his fluffy tail to avoid any issues. Went there for AHDS in an emergency situation when it was closed everywhere else after Christmas. Thank you
B. G.
Really helpful staff also very friendly.
V. K.
Amazing lovely people never be able to thank yous for what yous did for my boy Mack before he gained his halo and wings and crossed the rainbow bridge. Yous truely should be government funded. Amazing lovely people
L. M.
Due to circumstances very well organised..
These workers are under appreciated for the work they do.
They have saved my dogs life and I can't thank them enough 👏👏⭐⭐
S. W.
All the staff are excellent, caring towards the animals, caring and supportive to people, some in very dark places, loosing a trusting pet can be a very distressing time .
I. o.
They do a very important job my dog never got seen because there were a couple of emergencies which is very understandable my dog goes back on Monday fingers crossed that she gets the required treatment just to make her more comfortable as she is getting on a bit age wise
D. a. F.
Took our 10 year old German Shepherd to PDSA after she had a serious bleed. Vets were amazing with her. Thorough examination and a scan and X-ray. Unfortunately a lump has been discovered in her bladder but now going to have regular checks to see what can be done. Vets and receptionists were very gentle and caring towards our old girl and just absolutely fabulous. The fact that this place gets no government funding is a sin. I always donate every spare penny I have and can only beg and insist others do the same
A. G.
My dog hector was there on Thursday looks to be on the road to recovery thanks to the vets at pdsa hospital they're fantastic
M. T. F. (.
Us as a Proud Family always makes sure that PDSA gets our Love and Support every month with Donating a Few Pounds. it's Extremely important! ANIMALS ARE BEAUITFUL AND LOVING SPECIAL LOYAL ANF FOREVER WILL HAVE A PLACE IN OUR HEARTS AND THOUGHTS. VETERINARY STAFF ARE ANGELS. XX
R. N.
Thanks to PDSA a truly great charity service.
1.

E. C.

c. r.
Fantastic place but appintment time comes and your waiting 40 mins to see a vet but it's Fantastic otherwise 😀
M. M.
Back in July In the early hours on a Monday morning I Had to dash my baby My 15 year old black lab. .... I knew I was going to say goodbye .
The staff where absolutely brilliant and caring ....they let me stay beside her and hold her when she passed and then let me stay with my baby as long as I wanted ........The staff made sure myself , daughter and son in law were ok ,, Think the PDSA are angels in my eyes .......God bless all those who work there
j. m.
Even in the difficult times we are in my wee dog got her operation and she was very well cared for until I picked her up
A. D.
The guy who said that his dog went in there to have a (1) tooth extracted and they ended up taking 26 teeth out without letting you know! Come on, REALLY? The big question is surely why your dog had to have so many teeth extracted (if that's true) in the first place. Did you have your dog on a diet of pick 'n' mix and coca cola ffs. And the people moaning about the cat basket? Why don't you already own one? That's just what sensible owners do! And to call the staff there "idiots" because they couldn't get to the phone is just insulting!
Now that my rant is over ......... This place is a God send to people on a very low income. Be grateful for what they do and donate whenever you can. Or get some pet insurance and stop moaning.
G. T. (.
Really appreciate the fantastic and compassionate staff. A great service for people who can't afford private vets
T. B.
Want to thank the vet who saw Gizmo today. Thank you!
This is a service which cannot be over rated.
All the people behind the desk are brilliant and very friendly. Thanks to all.
Keep it up! X
A. G.
From the moment we arrived staff were kind , courteous and professional , it's disgraceful that this organisation is'nt at least partly funded by the government , shame on them ! ! . Keep up the fantastic work you & god bless you all
S. A. R.
Help mh dog as I still have her and glad for the treatment they gave me for her staff were absolutely great
C. E.
They are amazing & do a fantastic Job, they all Work very hard, not only are they caring towards Animals but people too.
S. P.
Went here with me and my mum for over 30yrs, really nice staff and my dogs love the ladies at front desk, could be the biscuit 😁, keep up the good work ❣
T. S.
Cannot complain they helped all they could in a very caring environment. It's just so busy I now have to go to other uncaring vets who seem to care more about the money than my poor dog.
Z. H.
A great service for animals but so expensive spent over a £1000 because cat was unwell kidney stones. Was advised to put it down but never as the cat means the world.
Sadly It does not matter what your income is as long as you get housing benefit its free. Otherwise be prepared to be pestered if you struggle to pay the full rising amounts.
C. C.
Great friendly staff our misty feels a load better after getting her nails cut
r. H.
This is a much needed service for people who would otherwise struggle to pay for treatment of their pets . The staff both medical and the reception staff are so helpful and very welcoming , they will go out their way to help you ..thank you 🌈
B. S.
Excellent care given by VetsNow
D. K.
Went with my staffy and they couldn't be nicer, great services and fantastic staff really appreciate what they did for my Tyler.
F. R.
These guys are amazing. My partners family & myself know these guys are heros & i will be donating regulary to them once im back on my feet. Without them there would be no one to care for our babies (the underdogs) when times are hard. Keep up the great work guys
S. B.
They gave me my patch meds when I was late I really apreshiate that I Gove them a 5 star for why they do
g. a.
a great place and very helpful staff. should qualify for government funding. a lot of people who use their services can't afford large vet fees. nothing is too much trouble.
K. G.
PDSA are amazing they go above and beyond to help, used them quite alot over the past 2 years the staff don't get enough praise,my dog passed very recently and Lorna was at the other end of the phone to comfort and help with my choices.Thank you your amazing.
A. W.
Amazing care was given to my dog and the whole procedure was explained to me to ensure that I fully understood what was happening.
J. S.
Difficult set up to do online! Tried so often to get repeat prescription for my dog. Phoning gets nowhere! Ridiculous set up!
L. P.
Excellent. Such lovely staff, very kind and helpful. Thank you so much
C.
Went with my dog and he received great treatment and is on the mend,
Thanks very much to the vets and staff at the PDSA👍
B. C.
Very pleased with the staff and level of service we received when our family pet needed treatment, I do wish that there was a practice in West Lothian, however they provide a vital service and help many people and families with the welfare of their pets who otherwise would be unable to seek veterinary treatment, as even minor treatments can cost an unaffordable amount for many people and insurance such as Pet Plan does not cover this. I would love to somehow raise funds for the PDSA and will look into this further as they do vital work.
A. M. S.
Great staff very welcoming and helpful
J. M.
Without their service so many would struggle with the ever increasing Veterinary costs. Some are bordering horrific. Even with the new PDSA system it's still excellent. Great staff & care.
D. A.
They done the best thing for my mick but I am sad as had to get mick put to sleep
l. o.
The staff in the Edinburgh branch of the PDSA are absolutely amazing. Full of empathy and care. They treat the animal but also talk to the owners. I'd give them 10 stars!!
C. b.
Can wait a while but always a pleasure and am confident my Bella's in good hand. Treatments always been amazing. She recovered in no time at all.
j. l.
The vet was excellent with this wee one
J. A.
The staff at the pdsa have been absolutely excellent.
Can't thank them enough for what they done for my bella, and all the work they do for all the animals.
C. T.
The PDSA are a phenomenal organisation. Their genuine care and empathy makes you realise just how much they care for animals. They ask for an affordable donation, but I cannot thank all the staff at the Edinburgh PDSA for their attentive care which they gave our youngest cat, Oscar, whom had developed a cancerous tumour in his wee tummy. They prescribed him steroid tablets and they help Oscar to get his appetite and in turn he has as normal a life as is possible.
So thanks again PDSA - Edinburgh appreciates your hard work and care and love for all your animal patients.
m. m.
Friendly she very helpful. Love you all
j. w.
They looked after our cat very well when she had to get put dwn, lots of respect for ur pet
a. d.
Good charity for animals apart fi they do have exclusion zones ie it's a postcode lottery. Not all folks that stay in affluent areas have loads of money. Think this policy needs reviewing
K. B.
This place is amazing.... running solely on donations... this place and the staff are wonderful.... they have helped me out so much, I recently had my wee dog Eddie put to sleep, Andrew was in constant communication with me, (calling me in gran canaria!)they went above and beyond to help my boy out and try to make him better.... so many people benefit from this place, they sont het enough credit.... Thank you so much to the staff, from reception, to nurses and vets! Xxx
L. M.
Vets and staff are great..

This pdsa hospital is paramount to the local area to provide treatment for dogs cat and other animals it's without these places alot of animals would die if it wasn't for the pdsa vets and staff
D. H.
These people are brilliant, it's not about profit it's about the animals. People should donate as much as they can to them. Xx
s. g.
We had a good experience staff are helpful .
L. G.
Providing a great service to those in need who don't always have the means.

R. c.
We have used this pet hospital for many years now and the help the staff (all the staff ) have given our pets was 100% first class we have never been turned away from this hospital no matter what time of day or night and the vets here have always helped as best they could and have always managed to cure our animals health problems we have always found them so professional and very knowledgeable. We thank them so much. Back in march 2015 our wee girl Meisha a Lhassa Apso she was 15 had to have both her eyes removed first one taken out March 2nd in may and thanks to the caring staff here at the PDSA they helped guide us through all the steps to help give us more time with our Meisha we took her into the PDSA 29th October 2015 as she had a small stroke but xray showed she had too much wrong and we had to say goodbye to her. If it should ever come a time your animal has to have their eyes removed please they can still lead a happy life just don't move the furniture. I hope this helps someone.
V. C.
Very helpful and professional services. Sorted out my cat's problem and supplied medications even during lockdown.

r. k.
Wonderful staff that are over worked and under valued. They are great with my dog and my anxiety. If you visit please dontate
L. K.
Who would take their cat to any vet without a carrier? That's basic cat care in anyones eyes yet you blame the pdsa? As for taking 26 teeth out in 1 go don't you think the problem might be your dental care of your dog? The vets wouldn't take 26 teeth out just for the sake of it, get real for god sake! This place ia an absolute godsend, keep up your fantastic work 👏
N. K.
Very overwhelmed long waiting time past your appointment time. But understand they have a hard job hence 5 star

D. H.
Unfortunately my daughter guinee pig aged 7years became sick over night! Looked like an ear infection or a small stroke! However after initial first aid and an injection we took Rosie home however the following morning she was not as expected so with tears in our eyes we took off for the pdsa again without an appointment, I make this point as the staff were kind and understanding enough to allow us to wait and be seen by a nurse, unfortunately by the time we were take (20mins) our pet had passed away in our carry box! The nurse that did get the job to confirm Rosie had passed away was amazing and did NOT rush us out in our initial moments of grief! So thanks you PDSA for all your help and understanding!
Dale / Heather and deceased Rosie Harvey,
S. B.
