My pup Josh wasn’t been his usual self, his vet didn’t really cared about my worries, so we took him to Lawrie Cumbernauld and he was seen by Katie. One the first consult she found lumps on him, which turned out to be cancer 😔 thanks to Katie and the lovely team we were able to have a few more precious month with him. When Josh’s brother Hugo got sick, it was thanks to Katie guidance and recommendations that help us give him a few extra months of happiness before he crossed the rainbow bridge to be with his brother. Losing both our boys was and still is one of the most sad moments of our lives and Katie and team were always kind and compassionate to us. They are the best!

I have nothing but praise for Lawrie Vets and their staff. Every single member of staff that I spoke to were pleasant and sympathetic. I was not a client of the vets but they made an appointment for my sick axolotl, I was told to phone this morning just in case a cancellation came up for today, which I did and managed to get an earlier appointment. Becky was absolutely amazing with comforting words when I had to make the decision to have our wee axolotl put to sleep. The reception staff were also lovely even though I could hardly speak for breaking my heart. Thank you so much for helping King Axolotl pass over peacefully. Lynda x

This was my first visit to Lawrie Vets in Cumbernauld, and my 28 year old African Grey's first ever visit to a Vet. Becky was fantastic, very knowledgeable and understanding of what I was explaining about my parrot's foot problem. Becky provided me with some very good information about treatment, nutrition and vitamin supplements which may help. If things do not improve and my parrot needs to return for an xray and bloods, I would be more than happy to leave him in her very caring and capable hands. The Reception staff were also very helpful when I contacted the first time, and were friendly and helpful again today when I visited the practice. As there is no Avian Veterinary in the area where I live, I would not hesitate to recommend this Practice to any of my friends who are also parrot owners. Thank you very much.

I cannot say enough good things about Lawrie Vets. I was referred there after having an issue with my cockatiel which was outside the range of expertise of my local practice. The girl I saw was nothing short of amazing. She has a lovely friendly manner and was extremely knowledgeable. She answered all my questions and eased my concerns and was brilliant with my cockatiel. Very good veterinary surgery for small exotics. We have guinea pigs and had lots of problems with a vetenary surgery near us. They eventually referd us to Lawrie Veterinary Group and also it didn't save our precious boy,all our other piggies are well looked after by the vets at this surgery. All the staff are very friendly and I feel our precious piggies are in good hands.

Couldn't rate this vet highly enough. Becky the vet, Becks the vet nurse and her awesome nurse colleagues have looked after and cared for wee Annie, our rabbit like she was royalty. She's been poorly and had to be admitted for treatment but everyone has made that process so much easier for us as Annie's human family. Regular phone updates from highly skilled and kind, compassionate staff. Rabbit care is such a niche area but Lawries offers a gold standard service for Annie and other rabbits. We first took our birds here for treatment as it was the closest avian vet to our house. I couldn't recommend this vet more. The customer service is excellent from the moment you walk through the door. Wow what a vet surgery. Our dog needed emergency surgery and the staff were amazing. So reassuring and extremely caring. The after care was 5* and our baby girl was as right as rain. Also was very surprised at the cost as it wasn't as expensive as I imagined. Highly recommend this surgery

I was referred to Lawrie Vets by my regular vet who was unable to treat my bearded dragon any further due to lack of specialism in their care. The care and help we have received at the Cumbernauld practice has been second to none. The reception staff are friendly and welcoming and we have been under the care of vet Krissy who is absolutely amazing. The underlying issue which my other vet was unable to pick up on was unearthed within about two minutes of walking in the door. Unfortunately my little guys leg had to be amputated but the care he has received and the aftercare have been great. I called up for some advice as he wasn't eating after the operation and was offered an appointment for the next morning for a quick check up and review of his medication, with another follow up booked in for a week's time. I've had everything explained to me and every question I've had answered every step of the way which has been so reassuring as I've never dealt with anything like this before.

Literally life savers. We had our girl in and out of the vets for a suspected urine infection under the lovely Alena, Unfortunately it was difficult to get an exact diagnosis for her, not helped by her being a very stoical dog, but Alena kept a very close eye on her and told us exactly what to look for in terms of her becoming unwell. Unfortunately we awoke one morning last week to find our beloved Golden Retriever very unwell, I arrived at the surgery 45 minutes before it even opened and was relieved to see the light on, I shouted through the door that I had an emergency and everyone came running. I carried her in the door and was immediately met by Sam the Vet and Kat the nurse. After taking a great handover and gathering a history Sam and Kat got to work. I hadn't even got out the car park before Sam ran out with a diagnosis (pyometra) and a plan which he went over with me briefly whilst the team prepped our girl for surgery. Sam was kind and caring as was everyone in the surgery including the reception team, particularly Elizabeth who is always so cheerful and caring. Sam worked wonders, in spite of complications, and our girl pulled through, less than a week later, she's getting on great. We were also grateful for the Vets ER facilities available to us in order to have her looked after overnight after her surgery, which make us feel much more relaxed knowing she was staying under veterinary supervision overnight after her surgery. At all time, with all vets my girl (and us) were treated with care, compassion and dedication. It is very clear that all of the vets have the same dedication and compassion for animals that Mr Lawrie himself has. Mr Lawrie, even after all these years, is still one of the loveliest, most caring and compassionate vets I've ever came across and his team are a true reflection of that. My husband and I are will be forever grateful for the treatment our girl received that day and the treatment all of my furry family members have had over all of the years.

This practice was recommended to me by my local pet store, who said it was worth the travel from Paisley to go there and it was. From my initial contact with them, over the phone to the actual consultation, I found them extremely helpful and friendly. Onsite private parking made it easier to get into the building, which also has disabled access. The reception staff were pleasant and explained everything from where to go and what the costs were, they also had a good rapour with all the clients and pets that came in. The vet took time to answer all of our questions, explained what she was going to do and what all of our options were, which reassured us. I would not hesitate to recommend the Lawrie Veterinary Practice to anyone else and have already passed on their details to family members with pets.

I have been using the Lawrie Veterinary group for many years and have complete faith and trust in their care of my pets. Recently one of my cats was involved in an RTA and an operation was required. I was given all the specific information as to what would take place and the option of referral to an orthopedic specialist. Showing that the priority is what is best for your pets. The vets here have the human touch and you can see their genuine care for animals. The reception staff are also very friendly and deserve a mention too.

Despite being under enormous pressure recently they managed to treat every patient successfully, staff stayed well past time to deal with a wide range of unforseen emergencies, with practical and fair triage/prioritisation of cases. Personally I find it a comfort to know that in an emergency my animal will be prioritised, and am happy to accept that in the case of a routine procedure I may need to wait a bit longer or reschedule. Keep up the good work, your vets are superb and anyone who fails to understand the importance of triage should go elsewhere instead of leaving frankly rude and potentially damaging reviews on the Internet.

Once you have a preferred vet looking after your pet, you can request them each visit from then on. That I like as you and your pet can build up a trusting relationship which is a positive thing.

I want to thank Becky, Katie and the reception staff for everything they’ve done for us over the last six weeks. We live in the Highlands; a long way away from Cumbernauld. When our guinea pig, Angus, fell ill with dental disease, we found out that our usual vet in Inverness lacked the expertise to treat his condition. We asked to be referred to Lawrie Vet, and we made four trips to the Cumbernauld practice, where Angus was treated by Becky and Katie. We’ve had guinea pigs for eight years but this was the first time we’d consulted an exotic vet, and we were blown away. It was ‘night and day’ compared with our previous experiences, even with a highly reputable vet in Inverness. Angus received three dental treatments and was put on to four different meds to manage the different aspects of his pain. We were able to have detailed discussions with Becky and Katie about Angus’s condition and his treatment. We really appreciated that Becky and Katie also consulted with each other, so we knew we were hearing the advice of two exotic vets. We never felt hurried or belittled. Instead, we consistently felt that we’d been listened to, that our guinea pig was as important as any other animal, and that Angus was getting the best treatment possible. Lawrie Vet was also reasonably priced, especially considering that Angus had to be kept in overnight on three occasions. A few weeks ago, we had to get Angus’s prescription from our usual vet in Inverness; it literally cost twice as much as the same drugs from Lawrie. Sadly Angus’s dental disease was so extreme that we reached a point where the kindest thing was to let him go. It was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make, but the process itself was peaceful and dignified, and handled so sensitively by Becky. I was inside for 45 minutes so must have greatly exceeded the allotted appointment time. However, Becky took the time to thoroughly discuss all the options and left me alone with Angus for five minutes or more, so that I could cuddle him and say my goodbyes. Angus was in my lap while he peacefully slipped away. I’m extremely grateful that I was able to be with Angus at the end, when I know that so many people have been denied this comfort at other veterinary practices during the pandemic. Thanks again for your wonderful support during such a horrendous time for us.

As vets go,I would say Lawrie vets has gone downhill.They are our family's vet, over the last forty odd year's.I would say there is not the same commitment by the staff and Thier vets. It has become about making money and not always the pet.
