An absolutely brilliant dog rescue centre. They really care not just about the dogs but getting you a perfect companion. The staff are kindness itself and the centre is clean, warm, really well-run and the dogs are so well treated. We adopted Daisy (neé Phoebe) and she’s brought such happiness. I would highly recommend Oakwood for dog rescue and adoption.

We were lucky enough to adopt Gizmo in December 2020 . She was exceptionally timid and one of the most frightened dogs at Oakwood at the time . In the last 14 months she has blossomed and grown into the most amazing and kindest dog we have ever had . We have rescued dogs for the past 35 years and Gizmo whilst being challenging at the beginning of the adoption journey has been the most rewarding . The staff at Oakwood have been so supportive and we have just adopted Gucci ( was Spirit) last week and already Gizmo and Gucci are interacting and bonding . Thank you Steph and the team for all your hard work . You are superstars !!!!

Dogs! I mean what else is there to say, get yourself signed up and volunteer to walk some cute dogs!! Take photo ID, fill out a quick form, have a quick chat and off you go. One of the most fun ways to volunteer, easy to go after work or on a weekend. Look at some of the cuties I've walked 😍. Donate, volunteer, adopt!

I've only looked on there website so far as was browsing out of curiosity as well as to see if I they had any suitable dogs needing a home that might be compatible with my current dog as considering getting him a sibling for company ,I was impressed with wat I saw each dogs profile was very detailed making the chances higher for them to find the right home first time around they've set the example for other dog rescue centres especially with the influx of pandemic puppies and pets .

The work that they do to rescue dogs and re-home them is remarkable and the efforts they go to to ensure the dogs go to the right homes is truly commendable, from the vetting of prospective owners to matching the dogs to those willing to offer them a home. If you’re thinking of rescuing a dog and giving them a loving home we can highly recommend Oakwood Dog Rescue . . . Steph and Nicola advised us and supported us throughout the adoption process and afterwards too. Their support and our patience has paid off and Rolo is well and truly part of our family.

I have walked the dogs here a couple of times and it offers a rare experience where everyone wins (just don't give the dogs treats for naughty behaviour!). I love meeting the dogs and giving them a walk around the area. The staff are really informative and seem to enjoy their job and love the dogs.

Handled my two pekingese very well. One had an ingrowing nail that even another groomer and vet couldnt sort out and now she is a very happy pup with no pain. The other one was very difficult and a bit aggressive so didnt get the perfect cut but looked fine and very clean and fluffy.

Our beautiful Rocco came from Oakwood and these people are amazing. The work that they do to save and nurture these dogs is truly admirable. Yet they are so humble. I'm sure that if these dogs could talk they'd sing to them!

This is a great charity and the staff and volunteers are amazing, however the Manager is unprofessional and rude. Closed a foster application without an email or a phonecall and left us wondering what happened and then lied when we tried to follow it up...you are crying out for people to foster and adopt dogs so this made no sense at all. Put someone is charge of foster and adoption who wants to do a good job of it.

Staff at the rescue have always welcomed communication since the completion of the adoption. Fantastic group of people who do amazing work for some of the most vulnerable and deserving dogs.
