Reviews of Streatham Hill Veterinary Surgery
I. W.
We've recently adopted two cats and registered here. The team have been very friendly and professional, and we've been seen quickly each time we've visited (for an initial check-up, for an emergency, and to pick up medication). I was particularly impressed at being fitted in so quickly for the emergency - I was extremely worried but the vet reassured me as soon as I walked in and was extremely helpful. The pet plans are affordable and really useful too! Only downside of that is the need to go into the surgery to pick up flea/worm medication - during COVID-19 that's been more challenging, however this is a small price to pay for such excellent service overall !

All I can say is - AMAZING and THANK YOU!
My dog had ingested rat poison and it was Sunday, and we were visiting London.
I was given an appointment immediately, upon arrival the reception folk calmed me down, super friendly.
Our vet Mary Louise saw us promptly, was brilliant with my pup, and very clear, informative and empathic to me.
On pick up, again Mary Louise was really thorough - and the follow up with my home vet really efficient.
100% recommend - saved my dog's life. I know vet surgeries are businesses, but these people genuinely cared - both for me and my dog.

They are all really lovely, caring professionals. All very kind and understanding. Very happy to visit as my experiences have only been good and very happy to keep going so long as it continues. It can get busy and looking after the health of your pet has a price tag but they are the best you will find and happy to pay for the care! Love!

Took one of our rescue kittens in as she had a nasty injury on her tail. Vets and nurses were fantastic and so kind. Little Bonnie was in and out of surgery quickly and updates given as needed.
Support staff were very friendly and we were so happy with the care and service given.

I brought my miniature dachshund Lucie here for a dental - Alice the vet was fab at communicating with me all day and Molly the nurse explained the discharge instructions clearly - answering my many questions. Overall a very good experience and no more smelly breath!

Such a lovely practice - everyone is so helpful. When my dog Alexis was bitten and needed stitches, their emergency service was excellent, they were reassuring, and let us pick him up afterwards so he could spend the night at home. With Brexit we've needed more paperwork to take our dog to Ireland and the vets were so knowledgeable and helpful in getting it all sorted.

I am absolutely thrilled to have found Streatham Hill Vets. They came to our rescue when our previous vets were unable to even give us a consultation for a problem my dog had with his toenail. Streatham Hill Vets saw me the next day and kept our dog in immediately, operating on him and resolving the problem that day. They were so friendly and helpful and I really believed my dog was in safe hands. Every time I call them then try and help in the best way they can and often have appointments available very soon after. I love that they are open 24 hours and that they have Saturday appointments. I couldn't be more thrilled and would recommend this vets to anyone.

Amazing service with amazing staff. I called in the other day in an absolute panic as my new puppy was really unwell and I of course love her so much! I was on the phone in tears when I first called in and one of the lovely reception ladies by the name of Laurna showed me nothing but compassion and kindness from the beginning of the call until the end, I was not registered with the practice but she went out of her way to get us on the system and booked in straight away. She was so sweet to me on the phone it had a very calming effect on me. When I arrived to the appointment I was greeted by another lovely receptionist by the name of Maria, Maria also showed me nothing but politeness and compassion in my panic. I saw a vet called Will, he was professional and I felt he really cared about my pup. My overall experience with this place has been amazing so much so that I’m now going to be using their services 24/7 instead of my old vet even though they’re a bit further away! Professional and lovely service

The best veterinary practice in London that puts the pets welfare above everything else. We took our dog there after it was bitten for a second opinion after another surgery we use wanted to charge us a fortune for things we felt were more about charging as much as possible. We were so well looked after, Claire was amazing and we were told no further medical interventions were actually needed for our dog who is now doing great.

I had been an extremely happy client for five years and the veterinary staff have always given excellent care to my three animals. However, the admin side has become so chaotic over the past year or so that it's becoming unbearable.
This doesn't seem to be due to Covid so much as the surgery going 24 hours, wildly increasing its workload, and apparently no longer communicating within itself. Available appointments no longer appear online, so you have to cross your fingers and call up to book. After her recent appointment, I gave my husband's number to the surgery for collecting our dog, as I would be out (and without pen or paper), but I still got the collection phone call, as well as the vet's detailed follow-up, and a further call from someone else saying that the dog was ready to collect.
When I went to collect the dog's medicine today, the receptionist didn't know anything about, or indeed about how to process an insurance claim. They told me the vets was no longer processing them, even though I'd checked on my insurer's site earlier. I ended up not only paying for the vet's bill in full, but an admin fee for the privilege of doing so rather than the surgery making the claim, as the fee was supposed to be for. My receipt, when it came, was missing the details of the procedures, and I had to ask for that to be added on. My dog is supposed to have a follow-up appointment and a care plan, which the vet had quickly talked me through on the phone, but I got details of neither.
This is such a rotten time of year anyway, everyone is overworked and tired, and the vet staff do their best to provide top-level care. But this lack of care on the reception and admin side is just really unhelpful. It lets down an excellent surgery that I have previously recommended to everyone who needs one. I had noticed that my neighbours are recommending other vet clinics and wondered why, but sadly, not any more. I really hope things change for the better in the new year.

Ended up here on Christmas Day after my dog decided he fancied some chocolate cake!
Our experience was incredible from start to finish. They answered the phone pretty instantly (with a friendly and reassuring voice) and I was able to go straight away with my nervous rescue dog. The staff were wonderful with Billy and we felt very looked after despite it not being our regular vets.
Thank you so much for working Xmas day and for making us feel so looked after! Billy is absolutely fine now following his delicious charcoal snacks!

If you are looking for a vets who take good care of your furry friends then look no further than Streatham Hill Veterinary Surgery. The team are approachable, professional and have your pet's best interest at heart. Whether it's for an annual vaccination or repeat flea and worm treatment, the practice keep you informed and updated. I can't recommend Streatham Veterinary Surgery enough. The team work extremely hard and despite tricky COVID restrictions over the past 2 years, have continued a high level of care.

Great vet. Lovely to our young dog and always really friendly. Sometimes the communications aren’t great - we’ve had a confusion around appointment times that led to postponing our dog’s neutering but it all worked out well in the end. Highly recommend them for professionalism and friendliness. They love animals and it shows.
G. G.
My kitten was nervous the first time he had to be seen (new place, new people handling him) but a credit to the surgery, the vet made him feel calm and reassured very quickly. My cat is booked in for his neutering procedure next month and because I can see just how professional the staff are, and how caring towards both, the animals and their owners, I feel confident that our little guy will be in the safest of hands. Thank you Streatham Veterinary.

Yet another professional, kind and supportive experience with my 10 year old cat. Highly recommend this vet if anyone is looking for one in the Clapham, Streatham surrounding areas, worth the drive too as they have parking for Disabled Customers. Thank you Streatham Hill Veterinary Surgery.
D. B.
Streatham Hill were exceptional with my cat and her newborn kittens. They took care of each of of the kittens, including an overnight stay and they made an effort to rescue a little one who did pass away sadly, but it was great that some vets will try. My cat ended up feeling unwell and she had to stay overnight for several nights which can become very expensive, particularly if insurance doesn't cover it, but it was good that the vets kept us updated of all the costs, and provided us with options for treatment. All in all, they have been wonderfully professional, always happy to check pets out so very responsive and finally good value given the level of care and support, not to mention just lovely in all their interactions.
P. P.
I brought my kitten to the emergency clinic after hours because she had eaten a cigarette! The receptionist was very compassionate and sympathetic both on the phone and in person. They saw us immediately and the vet was very gentle! She walked through best and worst case options which was helpful, while she examined the kitten. Luckily, my sweet little Biscuit is okay and has learnt her lesson - to never eat tobacco again.. unless she wants to visit the vet again and poo more blood!
E.
I brought my cat in for emergency treatment as it couldn't go to the toilet, I tried going to every charity but they all declined treatment. In an act of good will this veterinary surgery helped treat the cat even though my mother refuses to pay and I'm to young to take in credits. This vet has allowed my cat to be treated and save it's live. I am going to be donating as much money as I could to cover the treatment. Thank you Streatham Hill Veterinary Surgery for saving my cat.

Registered my dog from a puppy and over the years we’ve consistently had high quality care for my dog day or night. Friendly team who make my pet feel comfortable and at ease on each visit, whilst making me as an owner feel secure in knowing that my dogs being well looked after.
Would recommend to anyone.

this used to be a really excellent vets but since covid has gone really downhill, they have obviously had a huge staff turnover and the new staff don't seem anywhere near as experienced and reception are really disorganised. I have a ferret and would not recommend you bring a ferret here as like 50% of the time when I do I'm seeing a vet who isn't experience, I've spoke to the manager and was given advice that I can still bring my ferret her and that she would see more experienced vets but this hasn't been the case. there seems to be a huge discrepancy with what you'll pay and it feels like reception make it up as you go along and I've had to raise several disputes before with management to get charges waived. today I was charged out of hours appointment times despite it being in normal hours, just for my appointment to consist of being told that they can't tell me anything about my ferret and that I should go to a specialist or that they could put her down "because she is quite old". this conversation was had with me in a crowded hallway with strangers walking through while the vet interrupted me to complain about people being in the reception due to covid. when I arrived the reception staff also didn't know I had an appointment and had a back and forth with me for 5 minutes despite the person I spoke to on the phone asking me to come in today being sat right there. I wont be bringing my ferret here for anything complex anymore and will look into changing surgeries for my cat too. really disappointing as I've been a client for 6 years.
Edit: Jen dealt with my complaint really well and this vet we saw seems to be not regular and I've not seen her since. unfortunately we had to put our pet down but the visit we had on the day were handled really sympathetically and we just got a card in the post with her paw prints which was totally unexpected and really lovely

Always a warm and friendly service by all staff. My dog is called by name and vets try to make her as comfortable and relaxed as possible. Can easily see the same vet which also helps to make trips less traumatic and getting quick appointments is fairly easy if you call first thing.

Bringing my first ever pup home was definitely a terrifying experience but after taking my boy Toast (like the bread, not the glasses clunking) to see the lovely vets at Streatham Hill Veterinary Surgery put me at ease almost immediately! The staff were pleasant, welcoming, and super helpful in explaining things I didn’t understand! We can’t wait for our next visit!!
D. C.
I am always confident that my pets will receive the best care possible. I have been with this Practice for over 30 years.
They saved my present cat with a prompt and correct diagnosis followed by a successful operation years ago.. They are very responsive. My cats present vet particularly deserves a mention as she she kind, patient and expert in her dealings with her. She so rightly described my cat as being as fractious! I have always highly recommended this Practice to everyone.

Wonderful service from Sharon at reception today. She was so welcoming and thoughtful, and wonderful with our dog Dexter. The vets are always fantastic too. Thank you Streatham Hill Vets!
D. B.
Sharon was absolutely great along with Paul! They made the whole process stress free.
The staff gave me regular updates on how my cat was doing and showed so much care and attention.

I recently changed to Sreatham Hill vets and came yesterday with an emergency. Debbie was exceptionally helpful in making sure my injured pup was seen to ASAP. She went above and beyond to find an appointment for Alfie on the day. I felt very reassured and a lot calmer after speaking with her and now Alfie is on antibiotics and hopefully on the mend.
Also the vet Alice was so lovely and helpful.
Thank you SH vets team!! From Alfie and Emma

Recently visited this practice with my cat as we have just moved to the area so I didnt have a regular vet sorted, I was so pleased with the service from all the staff.
I was worried as my cat didn't seem her normal self, they managed to get to the problem very quickly (luckily nothing major) I managed to get a swift appointment, the nurses where great as I was very anxious about my little darling and the vet was simply amazing!!! highly recommend and pleased I have found a reliable honest vet in the area for the future.
D. Z.
I don’t know how they do it. They are always so extremely busy and yet everyone is seen quite quickly and professionally. I love that the vets are open to discussion about options and that they don’t push you to take the expensive but difficult for the animal route, taking into account the age of the animal and likely trauma which may or may not get results. This respect for the animal and for the owner is reflected in my not wishing to choose a cheaper vet further out, as my friends have done. I trust this Vet group completely. All nursing and reception staff are also always efficient and friendly. A top place if you value your time and your animal’s welfare.
J. S.
Streatham hill vets have always been able to give confident and helpful advice though my time with rescue dog. Throughout lock down they worked very hard but always made sure they gave me time to explain everything.
I have stopped getting my VIP club email reminders for flea and worming, and have brought it up 4 times but it's not been fixed. I also got sent to their Mitchum branch recently as they couldn't accommodate me and I didn't have a great experience but understand this does not relate to this branch.
a. b.
I can't rate Streatham Hill Vets highly enough. Dane and his wonderful team are caring, professional and reliable. They have always given my pets the best possible care and looked after me brilliantly when I've been upset or anxious. If you're looking for gold standard vets, look no further....Streatham Hill are the best!
S. L.
The vets and staff at streatham hill have always been super helpful and friendly whenever I bring in my dog snowy. She hates the vet and they always do their best to make her feel at ease. I always find their advice clear and honest and would recommend them.
D. P.
Agree with other reviews, the vets are excellent but their reception and admin team badly let the practice down. It can often take at least 15 minutes on hold to get through and the booking website is often down. Waited 1.5hrs to have a repeat prescription filled. Really need to sort out reception and hire more staff or capacity.
B. S.
The vets are amazing and the whole team kept us informed and reassured when our beloved Fenton spent 5 days/nights with them. Although the boys don’t like going to the vets (I mean what cat does) the team are always so good with them, keeping them calm and well looked after!
S. P.
Helpful, friendly vet practice that has helped me with household pets over 30 years. They have adapted so well to the Covid situation and continued to offer a great service.
E. C.
The vet team are amazing - I have been several times with my pup and have always had a really positive experience and have felt very confident that she was in excellent hands.
The admin team unfortunately always seem to be incredibly over-run resulting in very frustrating wait times both on the phone and following appointments as well as general miscommunication.
A. S.
Every vet at this clinic (or at least all the vets who have seen my cat) have been nothing short of amazing.
My poor kitten soiled herself stressed out during the car ride on the way to the vet - and they washed and dried her up without a fuss. (And even cleaned the carrier 🙈)
I wouldn’t take my cat anywhere else.
A. M.
I wish I could give two separate reviews:
- One for the vets and nurses - five stars. Very thorough, talented, helpful and empathetic. Would absolutely recommend.
- And one for the day support staff and service - one star (I should say the night/evening staff have been excellent when I have had to visit out of hours). I have visited multiple times for various issues with my pets and there has almost always been at least a 20 minute delay before being seen (sometimes more). Similarly when calling, there is usually a 15+ minute wait before anyone answers.
As well as this, I have had several infuriating conversations with the receptionists who are extremely unhelpful, don't seem to listen to concerns, and are prone to making simple mistakes with appointments etc.
To give a few examples:
- On one occasion I was called twice and given two different times to pick-up my pet. When I arrived, it turned out that they had confused my pet with another, as a second owner with a similarly named animal turned up complaining they had not been told a pick-up time at all.
- On another occasion I was given a dog to take home, before I pointed out I was actually picking up my cat. Very worrying!
- On another occasion an insurance claim went several weeks unpaid because my completed forms had been placed in the wrong in-tray? I had to call twice to chase before this error was even discovered or acknowledged.
There have been other incidents that I will not recount here for length, but needless to say I have grown to expect the worse from my visits.
In conclusion: I absolutely would recommend the veterinary staff, but be prepared to deal with some long waits and frustrating mistakes on the admin side.

What can I say that i guess others have already said?..
They have looked after all my cats, (currently my 6yr old cat Fifi) throughout the year with thoughtful care, the Vets are VERY friendly, but also remaining professional at All times, its a pleasure to pay for a service that is 2nd to none, knowing that your pet is not only lovingly cared for but me as a customer treated with empathy and compassion when needed! I'm also exceedingly happy with the hygiene and general housekeeping of the practice...One word...Excellence!🥉🐱👍🏽😇
K. H.
Lovely vets and could not ask more for my kitten. They are very helpful and I really appreciate that I can call up anytime with any concerns. Thank you for all of the help to get my little one settled!
A. M.
My main feedback about streatham hill vets is that everyone has always been so kind. Endlessly patient with my cats and never patronising towards me as the owner (which I sometimes feel at other vet clinics). Always easy to get an appointment, kind of standard in terms of pricing and I have mostly been lucky with car parking there 👍
H. M.
My Chihuahua was attacked by a fox, did not wait around for ages, Vet gave my dog a good check, explained to me was needed. Very friendly and professional practice. Felt reassured that all will be well when l left.
M. M.
Been here a couple of times now - both emergencies - couldn’t be friendlier, more helpful or attentive. One was an extended stay for our cat and the other was an out of hours consultation and both times we were surprised at how reasonable the bill was. Money not the main factor when your animal is ill but it helps not to get an eye watering bill at the end of it! Always horrible when you don’t know why your pet is suffering so great to know these guys will do all they can for you and your animal. Thoroughly recommend.
J. G.
From the moment I walked in the door I felt looked after and was at ease. The vets are friendly, approachable and answered all of my questions. I would highly recommend Streatham Hill Surgery as a local vet and have had no problems at all.

I Took My Puppy Zo For Her Second Injections Today And Literally From Walking Through The Door To Leaving We Had The Best Experience!! The Receptionist I Think Her Name Was Sharon Was Amazing So Polite, Efficient And Attentive My Puppy Loved Her. The Vet Was Also Amazing Was In The Room All Of Seconds For Her Shot Which She Didn't Even Feel. Looking Forward To Many More Appointments With Streatham Hill Vets
S. S.
Our cat was showing strange symptoms on a Sunday and even though they are not our usual surgery as it's a bit far from us, they scheduled an appointment to see her straight away and everyone in the practice was super kind and helpful! Highly recommend them if you live in the area!
A. G.
Had an amazing experience at this vets. All the staff were very lovely, warm, welcoming and kind and I felt my pet was certainly in safe hands. Very reliable vet to have as a 24 hour service and I am very grateful for them! Thank you!
A. W.
We are using Streatham Hill Vets for a few months now and we are so so happy we decided to registered with them! Always professional care, advice and help. Really nice receptionists, the Vets are always helpful and kind to us and our dog. Recommends them to all my family and friends 👍🏻 Please keep doing great job!!
S. C.
Shelby has been going to Streatham hill since she was a puppy. They are always so friendly and helpful in there. They offer the best care and saved her life when she was a puppy so I’ll be forever grateful
To them!
K. M.
Streatham Hill Vets have been looking after my cat's health for years and are really amazing. They will always find spaces for emergency appointments, the quality of care is great and staff truly love animals.
L. V.
Saw in good time with a great vet who was a great listener and very attentive to me as a customer. Also very friendly to my cat who is usually very scared and managed to calm him down.
S. B.
Great vets, easy to book appointments online. Only downside is they’re very popular so sometimes you have to wait a couple days for an appointment. When I’ve been desperate they have helped me find an appointment at another nearby branch.
M. W.
After trying a few of the vets in our local area, we landed on Streatham Hill - a team of friendly, first-class professionals who always take exceptional care of our cats. Highly recommend!
J. R.
I got advised by the vet I’ll have to put my little coco to sleep due to some health conditions, I’ve been really upset since then but I know it is the best thing to do for her own health, all the staff were very nice to me, malcom the vet told me everything I should know but Sharon the receptionist went over and beyond for me, she sat with me while I was having a difficult time and she really supported me through everything.
Thank you streatham hill vets thank you Sharon
S. P.
As new puppy owners Streatham Hill has been amazing - always welcoming and willing to offer advice and reassurance. Every vet we have seen has been great and reception are always lovely!
L. M.
Really recommend these vets. They've saved 3 of my pets when others just abused my insurance and failed to spot the signs that only a caring and experienced vet would see. There's not much choice locally as they all seem to be owned by big companies but this surgery has been around for years and I still see the same vets 5 years on. From the puppy stage through to putting my pets to sleep you have been amazing.
Only criticism would be quicker answering of the phone but I guess you're busy out the back saving people's pets. Some unfair reviews on here but suspect due to Covid times as I really can't fault this professional team.
S. C.
The team here have been consistently helpful and professional whenever I’ve had a question or needed to set up a last minute appointment. Even when the practice has been busy, we’ve felt well looked after (as has our rescue dog, who can get nervous).
B. H.
Fantastic experience at Streatham Hill Veterinary Surgery - on both occasions I was able to get a same day appointment. Both Vets that handled my pets were very friendly, highly knowledgeable and helpful. Would highly recommend to other rat owners!
N.
The vets are nice and professional enough but charge through the roof for anything and everything. On top of an emergency appointment cost (same day appointment basically) that lasted about 15 minutes, they charge £12 to shave off some hair to get a diagnosis... you're also always waiting at least 30 minutes from your appointment time unless you get a 9am booking!
P. L.
My pets Pickles and Parsnip are on the pet club plan here. VIP plan and they are treated like VIP's. Good care. Good price and really like the text reminders. Pickles needed a very awkward surgery recently that at other surgeries locally probably would have been referred elsewhere but the vet here fixed Pickles without a blink. Keep up the good work! Us 3 love you *heart*
P. Z.
I had an exceptional experience with the vets at this practice, they have treated my cat with care and explained me the process for my ease of mind.
Although I had an issue with them about my insurance, they have acted quickly and compensated for the delay.
Will definitely recommend, well priced and quick response during an emergency.
S. S.
Really helpful when we had to bring our dog for an emergency appointment. We were able to get an appointment straight away and staff kept us informed the whole time.
R. B.
I had an appointment here today for the first time. Very impressed with the vet I had seen. Having experienced a few places in London with vets who do not seem to know one end of a cat from the other, the older gentleman was extremely caring with my Joey, informative and friendly. I did have to wait a little while but respect that like many places, people are still wary of the pandemic. Top marks from me and looking forward to my next visit and treats for Joey. They have a night surgery here too which is a big plus if you're worried about your pets at night. I didn't realise this until I came today. Only slight tip is to give itemised receipt on paper but they did offer to email which is also acceptable.
I. B.
The vets and nurses are 5 stars.
The admin / management are dreadful. I checked in with the receptionist in the lilac/white coat and waited an hour before one of the nurses came over - the receptionist hadn’t properly checked us in so we’d been waiting unnecessarily. This happens about 1/3 of the time we visit the vets.
M. K.
The place to go for exotic emergencies! My ferret needed help late at night, and this was the only out-of-hours vet that had ferret experience. I can't remember the vet's name, but he was very nice, knowledgable, and had treated ferrets before. We arrived at about 9pm for the walk-in emergency clinic and only had to wait about 30 minutes to see him. He figured out what was wrong, gave her some injections, explained to me how to give the medicine at home, and we were all sorted. It was expensive, but given how few vets will see a ferret out of hours that's to be expected. The clinic was covid-safe with appropriate spacing in the waiting area, glass in front of the reception desk, and clean consultation room. I had to hold my ferret for the rectal thermometer which made social distancing quite hard but everyone had a mask on
L. W.
Have been a great Vet clinic to my family over the years. We are happy with the service and the availability of appointments when needed.
H. W.
They were amazing to my cats, Pepper & Spice. They are elderly cats and need a lot of cuddles. The vet and the nurses were so kind & gentle with my lovely old ladies... thanks guys 😻
E. P.
They have always been wonderful with our dog, he loves going to the vet and we have never had a problem getting appointments!
M. R.
I had to bring my ill hamster to the vet last week, knowing the outcome will not be good. I was offered stay in the waiting area while the vet did the consultation. Unfortunately, my hamster had to be put to sleep, and I was clearly explained what would happen to her and the fees and was told I would get a call when my pet’s ashes were back to the surgery. The vet was very good and understanding. I asked to get my hamster back to say goodbye and was left in the waiting area crying in front of clients and staff coming in and out which I don’t think was appropriate. The surgery was busy, and I understand that with Covid-19 it is not always possible to go to a room, but the situation was not ideal. After saying goodbye, I handed back my hamster to the vet, went to pay and went back to my chair. The vet came out to say that I could leave and moved on to another client. A bit shocked, I left and started to wonder where my pet was and what would happen next… (even though deep down I knew). Once I got home, I started to feel horrible and wondered why I was not asked to stay to see her after the injection (I could have waited outside) or noticed that I was not told I would get a call after the injection was done. I started to feel extremely guilty to have left my pet and the thought of her gone without me being here is painful. It is true that I could have asked to stay or to get a call for updates but if someone tells you to leave and your ideas are not clear in your head, you leave. I called the following day completely in panic asking for an update (I think this should have come from the surgery) and was told that my hamster was gone to be cremated. I finally got a call yesterday to let me know that her ashes were back, so I anxiously went to collect them and asked to talk to someone. I spoke to Victoria (who handed back the ashes to me) and said she was sorry for my loss (1st time someone said that to me since consultation day!). She let me in, and I talked to her about my feelings regarding the all situation and the fact that I didn’t understand why I wasn’t asked to stay or why even a call to have an update was not even a thing. She apologised and confirmed what I thought: I should have been able to see her after or get a call to let me know what’s going on if it was not possible to stay. I want to say huge thank you to Victoria for her time listening to me, for offering me tissues and a drink, which I think is the attention I should have gotten on the day. I can imagine it is not easy to listen to someone crying but this time I felt cared for in a difficult time so thank you. Once again, I understand that the surgery seemed very busy on the day of the consultation, but little attentions are everything. Two persons were at the reception on consultation day and not one came to check on us or ask if we needed anything. They didn’t even say sorry when went I to pay, just: “do you want the receipt by email?” Even though the vet said I made the right decision to come and see them because my hamster was suffering, I will never forgive myself for leaving her behind. Because it felt like this: I came to the vet, dropped my hamster to be put down and left like I didn't care. I do wonder if I would have been offered to stay if I had a cat or a dog and was in the same situation. What is done is done – my cat is also registered there, and they’ve been great with her so far. The experience is disappointing, and I am glad to I have my hamster back at home.

Our pup loves going to the vets, even when she is really sick, still comes out wagging her tail. 24/7 cover is always really fast and reliable

I'm so pleased that we found the Streatham Hill surgery - all of the staff are really knowledgeable, friendly and have a genuine love for animals - they always make a fuss of my dog, Rocky and he loves going there.
O.
My dog died and I requested them to do an analysis of the causes of death but they declined claiming they were too busy. So they are there for the smooth but not for the rough.
Further update: Thank you for the words of condolence. I phoned the practice following the response from the manager and I was told that Rob would call back; unfortunately this didn't happen. Anyway it is too late now being able to assist. (PS: the dog was registered under my wife's name and that may be the reason why you didn't find a record of my call as I explained on my second call)

Friendly neighbourhood vets office - have been taking our cat here for over a year & have always been very happy with the level of service & professionalism - from routine to emergency appointments. Thanks!

Best vets in the area. I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else.
Caring, professional and very skilled vets.

Very friendly and supportive veterinary staff who helped save my cats life after he accidently escaped off my flat balcony 7 flights :( I'm ever so greatful for all that they did and he's alive because of the awesome veterinary staff here not only that, they do offer zero per cent interest free pet price plan if you can not afford to pay your full vets bill in one go, which I was so thrilled with because it means you can spread your monthly vets bill over a year or so which gave me a peace of mind. My cat is doing very well now he can walk but he still needs to be on bed rest untill the 12 weeks are up and another X-Ray to see how his radius bone has healed and if he's fully stabilised as he had a metal plate in his paw. The other vets i went too unfortunately we're not as helpful and insisted on having his paw amputated :( honestly I'm so glad I found this vets even during this covid epidemic they helped me and my beloved cat and reassured me they would do everything to help and they did 10 out of 10 :) I uploaded 5 pictures of my cat wearing a pink cone for the website and his side shaved as a before photo and the new photo of him in his cage resting without the cone to help people see how far he's come along :) I've already highly recommend this place to many people,as they specialise in orthopaedic surgery here. please bare that in mind they can certainly help your pets even if other vets can not regarding broken bones as that was from my experience before finding Streatham Hill Veterinary as they reassuringly genuinely care for your pets :)

So good with our puppy and offer a vip club which is great value. We can always manage to get an appointment and all of the staff are so friendly

Highly recommend these Vets. I've been really happy with their level of service and overall experience that we have received. Keep up the good work.

We've been taking our cats to Streatham Hill vets for 8 years now and have always been happy with the service.

I have been comming here for years with our cat Milo.
Streatham saved his leg a few years back and he won't go anywhere else after that.
Recently been really busy but the staff are always kind and we are glad we have a 24hr place to take Milo just incase.

I went for general check up and all the staff were so helpful, they went above and beyond to help as my cat is very anxious about trips to the vets. Highly recommended.

We took our new kittens for their first check up and they were treated with such love and care! Thank you

Quite unpleasant visit. Had an appointment at 10.45am, arrived at 10.40, checked in with a nurse, no one attended until 11.15am. At first, I was told that there might be delays on the vet service. I could fully understand the vet are busy but people at 11am appointment got it before me, so it is clear that they forgot my appointment. Couple minutes later, I was informed that I missed my appointment by another nurse, no apologies at all, the nurse at check in stare rude at me, I am unimpressed on the overall experience.

We have loved our experience with Streatham Hill Vets. Everyone is so lovely and the staff really care about your pet. We feel very fortunate to have found such a wonderful practice. Thank you everybody! We had our female cavapoo spayed here and also receive monthly reminders for flea/worming treatments which is very handy. Really recommend if you want a practice that show care and love and complete professionalism.

I am so happy to finally find a vet that is suitable for me and my fluffy love! After trying so many other vets, Streatham Hill Veterinary is now the only vet I will take my cat to. My fluffy boy got new friends there, amazing treatment with love and great care from all staff! I 100% trust and recommend them to anyone without any doubts, even if you have to travel far, its worth it! Thank you, Dane and all other staff members for making my cat healthy and happy again! Kisses and paws from fluffy Leon!

really lovely staff, however it did cost me £70 to treat my hamster for a UTI... lil expensive for a student, but can't complain about staff- thank you for treating my precious little man :)

Our cat Cloud had to have bladder surgery last week. From the moment I arrived I was impressed by the kindness and efficiency of the staff at Streatham Hill vets. All the people waiting outside with their pets (being covid safe) were offered hot chocolate by a team member, and their wonderful surgeon Gabriella explained the operation in detail that was so helpful and reassuring. We had regular post-op updates with cute photos and a video of Cloud being stroked and tickled and looking happy (well as happy as you might be after a big op!) and well looked after. We were given clear advise for the recovery period and Cloud is recovering really well. I have real admiration for the team at Streatham hill. They are wonderful. Thanks so much for taking great care of Cloud 🙏

My cat was trasnfered here due to DKA, she's diabetic and had ketones in her urine, which is really bad, and some other problems. The vets (note, the vets, not the rest of the team that was lovely) at the first clinic we went did an awful job, both caring for her or being able to speak to the owner of a pet in a critical condition.
Once arrived to Streathem, the head nurse took care of us and explained us everything in the most professional and calm way, that nearly made me stop worrying at all. The vet, with the same calm voice and body language, updated us onher conditions and with a plan. They kept working for 3 days on her (updating us over the phone) and even if at the moment she's still there, they deserve this review and all my respect and admiration for being amazing human being and amazingly professional and caring at their job.
C. P.
We cannot thank this veterinary practice enough for the care and consideration they all showed when we finally had to part company with our 15 year old beloved chief- Pumbaa. They could not have handled this difficult time any better. Thanks a million.

Wonderful team who take excellent care of my naughty Lurcher - her favourite vet is Felicity!

Such a supportive and helpful reception and amazing vets. Such a calming environment.

Very Happy with the staff and the vets in general. Saved my little kittens life!

We have been using the same vets for almost 12 years They are great, knowledgeable, super helpful and compassionate. When our old dog died recently they even sent us a card with his paw prints.
Highly recommend them.

I have been taking my dog Frida to Streatham Hill Vets since she was a pup. She is now 10 years old. The vets are thorough and knowledgable. She recently had a very worrying incident which was dealt with within record time. Frida was in consultation within 30 minutes of a call to reception. The consultation was through, bloods taken and results given by telephone the same day. Overall a very good practise. Highly recommend.

They have always shown my cat + I compassion + respect. Sylvester + I cannot reccomend higher.

Thank you so much for seeing Ellie last night! Thanks to you guys seeing us so quickly she is still her usual mischievous self, hopefully this will have put her off chocolate for life though!

My dog was missing for 4 nights, being so concerned about his well being I’ve called the Streatham Hill Vets. They responded in such a professional manner and booked an appointment for next day. My dog has been taken in by nurse and consultation over the phone prior and after Joy’s appointment has been carried out. I was looking for local practice to take my dog for routine check up any way, the disappearing just speeded the process up for us. Going by the respond we got we are planning to stay with Streatham Hill practice. Many dogs owners I spoke to shared very good feedback regarding this practice. Special thanks to Dr Harriett and nurse Frankie who took care of Joy on this occasion. Many Thanks again xxx

They put me at ease when my dog was ill and were available to see us on short notice.

Consistently fantastic vet. They’re always so helpful trying to find appointments even when they’re super busy and have delay with a range of upsetting urgent incidents so kindly and sensitively and I always feel assured my cat is in the best possible hands.

Hi is very good to see the vets my Monty love to see them 👍🎅❤️

This is a fantastic veterinary surgery! We've been taking our cat here for over 5 years now. All of the vets are brilliant. It's clear that they love animals. We recently had to leave our cat there for the day and the vet kindly showed us where she'd be kept as we were nervous about leaving her on her own. They put you and your pet at ease. An incredibly professional surgery that loves animals.

Been coming here for years and wouldn't trust anyone else. Caring and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend!

My dogs eye was scratched by a cat - Streatham Hill Vets had a Vet waiting for me when I had to rush him to their practice, even though it was their closing time and we were in the middle of the pandemic lockdown! They also provided me with the medication and made it easy for me to send a volunteer to collect the balance of the prescription the next day! Needless to say, this went a mile to reassure me, as I was in a terrible panic! Thank You!

They truly care. I was terribly anxious about delivering an injured bird I had found. Their team went above and beyond to ensure the bird was cared for at short notice. I cannot recommend this ethical, proactive team enough. Wishing you every success.

Excellent veterinary surgery - our pug Mia loves every visit. Reception is friendly and accommodating, and the veterinary staff (nurses and vets alike) are kind, professional, and experts in their fields. Thank you Streatham Hill Vets for your fantastic service!

Our first experience with Streatham Hill Vets was for routine vaccinations and we were impressed with the facilities and the staff.
The next time we needed their services sadly we found out our cat was terminally ill. The staff were excellent - clear and straightforward but not lacking compassion towards us or our pet. We'd never been through the process of having a pet euthanased before and they helped answer all our questions aid our decisions. When the time came the vet was very reassuring and professional. We are very confident that our pet received the best care possible.

Fantastic vet surgery! My cat had to have her thyroid removed and I was lucky to have found this place. My cat was taken care of by the very competent Dr Kostas who performed the very complex surgery with much skill very successfully, kept me fully informed on the cat's progress and prognosis every step of the way with a lot of care and attention. Many, many thanks to him and the whole team involved! I have no hesitation recommending the practice! They also can offer 0% finance which is very helpful if expensive treatments are involved.

I highly recommend this veterinary surgery. I adopted two kittens and chose to take them to Streatham Hill Vets because it's local to me. I've now visited the surgery 5 or 6 times and every visit has been extremely positive. The receptionists are friendly and helpful and every vet I've met have been really gentle with the kittens and has offered a lot of helpful and practical advice. When one of the kittens was unwell the vet saw him as soon as possible and really put my mind at ease. I couldn't ask for more really!

I have recently joined Streatham hill vets and I have been so happy with the service . The 2 vets I have seen so far have been so caring so informative Alice the vet on the recent visit looked after my old pug so well and diagnosed him immediately and treated him and the vet nurse Tracey was so amazing and caring I am very happy as a new customer thank you
E. D.
My three little cats have always been brilliantly looked after by the lovely people at Streatham Hill Vets. I cant fault the care and attention my cats have received on the several occasions they have had to visit the cat hospital, staff always friendly, vet care top notch and behind the scenes staff always on hand to steady the ship. For the thankfully rare, serious things to the everyday stuff that all our pets need this is a top place. Keep up the good work please.
S. C.
Been really good with my dog and when I found a lost dog locally.

They took great care of my cat after she poisoned herself by eating lilies. She survived with no harm. Thank you Streatham Hill Vets from me and Biscuits!
C. H.
Genuine, kind, uderstanding & empathetic. I don't just say this due to a blind loyalty, or just the appreciation for the help myself & my dog (world) has recieved, but I felt I could talk openly about our options/steps, situation AND also felt totally heard/unjudged, & supported. These are kind people who care for the animals they aid. Thank you.

5 years ago we made the decision to adopt our first pet. As this was our first time being pet owners we had lots of questions regarding bringing our cat home for the first time, what type of vaccinations he needed etc. We went to Streatham Hill Veterinary Surgery to see if we could obtain some advise and the staff there were amazing, they spent a lot of time with us answering all the questions we had and gave us all the information we needed to get started.
I would highly recommend this surgery, the level of care that they provide is outstanding, the staff are always helpful, happy and friendly, the surgery is always clean and their advertising and information on display is always up to date and informative.
T. C.
Good, honest, personal, caring vets, in a friendly modest clinic. They do not try to upsell or scare you into procedures. First visit is very friendly and charge free. You are even given the name of your vet before visiting. I've never seen my energetic kitten so calm in the hands of a vet before.

I was treated with such kindness and sympathy when I brought in my pet rabbit Daisy that had died that morning. They let me have some time with her in a room to say goodbye, which really helped me.thank you so much for your kindness.

I have always had outstanding experiences from this surgery as has everyone else I've ever met who uses them. I feel confident that my cat is in safe hands and the atmosphere has the warm, welcoming feel of a small community practice.
I have called reception staff for advice on a number of occasions and they have always gone above and beyond to help me. The vets I have seen are equally customer-focused and always explain things to me thoroughly and give me all available options along with their recommendations. Not once have I felt that I have been pushed into a decision or "sold" a particular product or procedure that didn't meet my needs.
When my cat needed critical blood tests to determine whether or not she was suffering from a life-threatening disease, the vet was just brilliant in how he handled both the cat and my needs as her (distressed) owner, and I could tell he was doing everything in his power to get a quick resolution for us. I'll never forget the genuine excitement and relief in his voice when he called me on my mobile to tell me the results had come in and she had the all clear - to me, that just epitomised how much these people genuinely care for their patients.
M. P.
I have an elderly cat and would recommend this veterinarian.

I crashed my bike outside this place this morning, along with 8 other cyclists who slipped on a huge patch of oil on the corner. The staff rushed outside to help deal with first aid and called the police to try and get the dangerous road dealt with. They were wonderful and have my thanks.
J. E.
Fantastic first class service - we are the lucky new owners of a gorgeous puppy and Streatham Hill Vets have been amazing - free first visit with a wonderful vet and they accommodated us immediately when our puppy had an accident at home. Friendly, caring and all round great service.
N. O.
We are always treated with respect and my dog is always treated beautifully by all the staff here
A. C.
This was the first time I've been since the covid lockdown. It all seemed to work quite smoothly - they meet you outside to discuss your pet, then take them inside for whatever needs doing and then return them, so you don't need to go in, or even get out of your car if you drive. There was some talk of a zoom link, but apparently their wifi isn't good enough.
B. W.
Great service from these vets, I can always get an appointment, even on the day (I've had a few emergencies). Staff are really nice, very gentle and calm with my rabbits, and waiting times, as vets practices go, are pretty good. Also their online shop is brilliant, much cheaper than the big pet shops and free next day delivery to the practice which is so handy. Would recommend!
A. B.
Always look after my cat well. Both problems where treated right and cause diagnosed immediately with the right treatment prescribed. Can't fault Streatham hill vets and would always recommend, my neighbours us them as well and we all do not live close. But it's worth the travel as my cat is part of the family so we will only consider using people who care enough to look after her sincerely and properly
r. J.
Murphy, my 6 month old puppy, loves going to the vets, which is helpful. He gets very excited and treated really well. The vets are very helpful.
L. B.
It's the veterinary surgery at Streatham Hill. They are not bad. They let you know what might happen... Oh, they know how likely your 7 year-old Guinea Pig is to survive a 'procedure' (it won't) and they're pretty sympathetic when they need to let you know they feel your pain.
Pretty good, in fact, good enough to make a couple of suggestions that make it a bit easier when your daughter needs to say goodbye (after the fact)...
I would give them a try if you are looking for a good veterinary surgery in the area.
M. B.
I'm a huge fan of my friendly local veterinary surgery - they are extremely professional and efficient, but still really warm and friendly. My cat likes it there too, and he hates vet visits. But they know exactly how to put him at ease. Highly recommended!
C. T.
I live about 15/20 mins away but would far rather bring my cat here than anywhere else. They always offer excellent care. I would 100% recommend bringing your animal here for treatment.
C. D.
We have been using Streatham hill Vets for the past 18 months for our cat Zac and have just registered our new kitten Obi with them too. Staff are always excellent, very helpful & friendly, good with both my pets. The surgery is always lovely and clean, easy to get appointments & we recently brought a baby bird in following my cat catching it and bringing into the house and my younger daughter rescuing the bird from Zac.
Would happily recommend them to anyone looking for a local Vets.
D. D. G.
They go above and beyond looking after our pets, Lowrie was our vet to see my Chester and she’s been nothing but understanding. Now as she has left our two cats have both been taking over by Bridget for Oscar and Chester by Felicity. Our two cats are brothers so they have to come in together and the receptionist understands that. It’s an amazing veterinary surgery the best in south west london.

Friendly and caring veterinary surgery.
I highly recommend for anyone with new or existing pets if they are looking for their first pets to be neutered, vaccinated or treated by a professional, friendly and knowledgeable Veterinaries. They have offers for new pet owners on their website and if u have any questions just ask as they are happy to help. Thank you for all your help so far and treating my cute little Bunny cat 🐈☺️😇
C. H.
This surgery is not the closest vet to my house, but it's the highest quality, so I'm happy to travel from Brixton with my two cats. I must especially thank Felicity, who worked with us to get my very difficult male cat his vaccinations without having to sedate him. Felicity was great - she dealt with the animal in front of her as he presented himself. I really appreciated the way she was in tune with my cat and achieved the outcome we wanted with the least amount of trauma for everyone involved.
G. S.
They are wonderful cant praise them highly enough.
L. M.
Outstanding - Caring - Informative and up-to-date.
I haven't changed vets for 20 years because my cats love them;
Faye my cat has Chronic Renal Failure - she loves all the nurses and vets
who in turn love her back. They all take great interest in her progress and
quality of life. They have given Faye the second chance at life that no other
specialist or practice could have - whilst keeping prices reasonable
and her quality of life is amazing due to the right care and treatment.
I cant thank them enough and would highly recommend them to anyone.
Thanks guys and happy New Year!

I had only one problem with this vet. I was miffed that they was not straight forward regarding alternatives of payments. My cat was ill which results to large vet bill. After obtaining money to make payments, I was told they can do payment plan. Why wasn't this kind of information offered in the first place then I wouldn't have to stress or worrying about finding money to make payments. If I known I could make manageable monthly payments to treat my cats at any time, I would have used vet service more often.
M. R.
Called up to ask for an appointment asap for our poorly guinea pig. Vets were very busy but they saw her urgently and never made us feel rushed during the appointment. Vet was lovely, very gentil and thorough.
Always experience a great service, thank you.

I have had cats registered with Streatham Hill Vets for several years and have had no cause for complaints. However, a particular incident prompts me to write this review in support of the practice and give public thanks for several of the staff – one of the girls at reception (Gosia, I think); Topaz, who was able to give me an appointment at very short notice and first conveyed the news of my beloved cat Peggy’s illness; and especially Felicity and Robert: Peggy (only 6) was diagnosed with lymphoma and deteriorated very quickly, meaning that she had to be put sleep within four days of the diagnosis. This is the first pet I’ve lost and I didn’t handle it very well – I imagine having to euthanize animals is difficult enough without having a grown man weeping uncontrollably standing by… Anyway, with hindsight I now fully appreciate the professionalism and sensitivity with which Topaz first conveyed the horrible news and with which Felicity and Robert took me through the ordeal itself as best they could and enabled me to grieve.
On the basis of this incident alone I would strongly recommend this veterinary practice. The fact that they are also open seven days a week is a major benefit, as I know that not all vets in the area are.
S. P.
Enormous gratitude to the team for looking after both Charley (dog) and Sailor (cat) who have both had health issues in the last couple of weeks.
After recently moving to Streatham from Battersea, I was concerned to find the best care for both my animals.
Friendly, attentive and thoroughly communicative all aspects of care including cost. No nasty surprises here.
I have no hesitation in recommending them.
A. F.
Having written a very strong review expressing my disappointment of my service as this vet, they have since gone above and beyond to rectify the situation. They are also working to improve the insurance form process to ensure people are paid quicker.
As such, I have reviewed my rating accordingly.
