I cannot recommend the Village Vet enough for the care and compassion they extended to us recently when sadly our gerbil had reached the end of his life. We were incredibly touched by their kindness and sensitivity. We stumbled across the Village Vet when our usual vet cancelled- we will always use the Village Vet from now on- their fees are very reasonable, many vets in the area are charging exorbitant fees and use the opportunity to profit from a desperate situation. Not the Village Vet- highly recommend. Don’t be put off by the fact it is on busy Harrow Rd, parking is offered at the local vicarage.

I have been using Village Vets since they took over the practice of my previous vet a couple of years ago. The changeover was seamless and I have been very impressed with both the practitioners and the practice since then. All the staff do their best to put my very nervous dog at ease when I visit and I love the fact that I get regular reminders for when monthly treatments are due. I have also signed up to the Pet Portal they offer which spreads the cost of all the vaccinations and flea/worming treatments across the year and includes an annual health check/consultation which is very reassuring.

Wish Ben was still there. Miss his personal care and love for the animals. Don't seem to be able to see the same vet. Since it has become a chain the price has rocketed. Edited The young male vet (I think Spanish?) who euthanised one of our animals I would give 5 star service, he totally cared for our grief and our animal which was a much beloved rat just so kind, and the charge was very reasonable but I've had to attend the surgery since a few times and although the people there seem nice enough they are never the same and he's not there. I think we were spoiled by having the lovely Ben and his friendly nurses who also aren't there either.

Jo is a very kind vet, who deeply cares for every creature and their human who comes in, and offers a great deal of owner decision. She readily admits when she isn't 100% knowledgeable on an exotic species and consults other specialist vets to get the best opinion, even if that means going to a different practise. This is so valuable as many vets can be quite decicive in terms of how exactly an animal gets treated at the expense of an owner's opinion. However, if I find myself with a lot of options for treatment, she senses the need for a little more input and support. The veterinary staff do very tidy surgery work as well, and do not over sedate small pets as I have found at other practises. They are a really compassionate group of people, who will snuggle all the animals and give good post operative care, as well as care for the people who come in. Whilst I do not see them for every single procedure needed (rats are not the most widely kept pet, so I sometimes need specialist surgeries or treatments), I am so so relieved to have discovered this practise. Every euthanasia has been a tender and loving experience too! I would recommend them to anyone.

Ben is a fantastic vet. He's exceptionally good with our dog and always incredibly thorough. You never get the feeling that you are being rushed as he always takes the time to properly examine your pet. We trust him 100% with our dog and would recommend him to anyone with a pet in the area. I couldn't disagree more with the commenter who complained about his professionalism. He's got a fantastic nature and always puts us and our dog at ease.

I was really impressed with the care given to my cat at Village Vet in Kensal Green. The Vet was very caring in her approach. She ensured that my cat was as relaxed as possible (under the circumstances!) before carrying out her examination. Throughout the examination, the Vet gave me comprehensive medical explanations and advice. I would recommend this Vet Practice without hesitation.

After Ben (the previous vet) retired, my first experience with the new vet, Jo, was brilliant. I had taken my rabbit, Frappuccino, in to the vets and I have to say, I instantly felt at ease with Jo. She came across as very caring, professional and knowledgeable - which, after having Ben as my family vet for as long as I can remember, was really comforting. I had to see Jo about 5 times in the last 5 weeks because of my rabbit's health and each time I had the same experience. My rabbit was completely relaxed during all of the exams, which is rare for rabbits as they are really skittish animals! I felt completely safe with Jo and would highly recommend her as the local vets to go to. The pricing of treatments was reasonable and Jo was more than willing to talk about costing options with me when I asked. I very much look forward to having Jo as my new family vet as I know my 2 rabbits and 2 cats are in safe hands. Thanks Jo!

Lovely staff, always friendly and happy to see you in an emergency. One of the vets there was especially kind to me after I'd been having a rough time at home, and it made the world of difference. The only difficult bit for me is that it's on such a busy main road, my cat gets really scared of the noise.

I sadly had to take my dearly loved 11yr old cat to be euthanized last Saturday. She was treated by a lady vet (who was standing in for Jo), with such tenderness. Her passing was so peaceful......thank you for everyone's kindness. I would recommend this veterinary surgery to anyone. Since posting this review early this morning, I opened my royal mail post to find a beautiful card from the surgery, offering their condolences for my loss. I am 66 years old and always had cats, which I have obviously had to say goodbye to, but I have NEVER received a card from any of the surgeries I have used. I was quite choked, reading what they had said. So need I say more! A surgery with feelings and thought. Thank you

Have been going to Ben for over 25+ years. He is a really nice chap and cares a lot about his work and the welfare of animals. Ben has now retired out doing his photography and stuff Jo the new young Vet was slightly nervous at first because Ben was a difficult act to follow She has now really found her feet much mor relaxed and really kind and caring with the animals Really nice person and highly recommended to look after your pets and give them the best treatment

I personally did not like the previous Vet here, but since Tiago came along there has been a massive improvement! My dog joey had 4 teeth removed today and Tiago, and all the nurses and staff were brilliant!

Ben has been looking after our dog and cat for as long as we've had them. We even once brought him one of our chickens. He has always been helpful, professional, friendly and empathetic towards all our pets. Ben always pays great attention to detail and takes the time to do things right and explain everything clearly. I've visited this vet a few times now with my first pet puppy called Ralph. Every visit has been absolutely brilliant. All the staff are caring, polite and passionate about their jobs and completely made me and Ralph feel so comfortable. Ralph was a a bit sad and poorly when I got him which made me terribly anxious. Jo-the amazing vet-made everything better and that was before she even looked at or treated him. Her caring nature and expertise made me feel immediately better and Ralph even perked up as soon as he set eyes on her which made me look like a liar. Ralph received his first injections there and they were given with lots of love and were also very reasonable prices. I feel I have an excellent support network at this surgery and have been made to feel like I can discuss any worries I have with Ralph, no matter how small they are. Thank you Village Vet

Moo & Jasper (2 year old cats) have recentely had their annual check up & vacinations. The vet was quick & efficient, friendly & very caring - asked how they were, did I have any concerns & gave some advice about teeth. It was easy to book appointments & the receptionist/nurse was friendly & efficient. The reception area & consulting rooms were clean, warn & well equipped & the surgery is easy to reach on a variety of buses. The only down side is the cost but I know it's fair & makes me appreciate the NHS!

Ben Shorten has been caring for our dogs and cats - as well as the occasional hamster - with professionalism and kindness for more than 25 years, during which time I have recommended him without reservation to family and friends (including some who travel across London to see him). I have never been in any doubt that the welfare of the individual animal is the first priority for Ben and his team and they are always generous with their time and knowledge. I have also appreciated their humanity and intelligent support when times have been difficult because of illness or accident and I am shocked to read below a suggestion that there might be any question of insensitivity. Ben has my absolute trust.

Friendly local vet based around North and North West London. Very knowledgeable and honest. Very reasonable costs (unlike Medivet...). Clearly love animals and you can tell they take pleasure in their work. I don't think they cover exotics / reptiles though. Recommended!

I have been going to The Veterinary Centre since my dog arrived 6 years ago. I only have gratitude words to describe Ben Shorten and all the members of the staff. In 2 occasions my dog was in danger and both times he went out of his way to save her life. I can say today that squid is still with us because of his professional caring approach. I have never met a vet to be so committed to the animal wellbeing. I have and I will recommend this practice and Ben Shorten to everyone. Thank you!

When Ben retired I was lost! He was our family vet for over 35 years and we had total trust in him. Before he retired he gave my 14 year old dog a completed medical check and advised me on what to expect and how to react. My lovely Biscuit has had fainting episodes for past 6 weeks and I was reluctant to take her to a vet who might want to carry out unnecessary diagnostics or investigations. Today my anxiety has disappeared - I took Biscuit to see Rebecca who was amazing. Biscuit was completely relaxed, Rebecca examined her and explained all the symptoms to me, gave me medication to assist with Biscuit's symptoms going forward and advice on how to make the rest of her days happy and comfortable. Ben made the right choice in passing over his 'animal centered' business to Village vets - THANK YOU
