It is with great sadness we are moving and having to leave The Vet Southampton. They have looked after our 11 year old Tibetan terrier, Thomas, for almost 7 years through allergies, ear infections and pancreatitis. The reception team have always greeted him with joy (and a treat) despite his rather vocal personality and he has NEVER worried about going. The vets, especially Abbey, have always shown patience and knowledge to help Thomas through his various ailments. We will miss you guys and cannot recommend you highly enough. Our pets are precious and I’ve always known ours was in safe hands. As you see below Thomas is not happy about leaving (I had just told him)

I took my Yorkshire terrier to this vet for the first time and had a very welcoming experience. I met Emma, one of the vets for the first time and she was one of the best vets I’ve come across. Amazing people skills and helped my dog brilliantly with a huge amount of compassion towards animals. The reception staff are polite and are happy to help with anything they can. I don’t think there is anything about this place that I can fault. Brilliant service all round.

Moved to this vets recently. Great value, kind, caring patient and thoughtful. Unfortunately my cat had to be put to sleep due to old age and illness. In the short time I have been registered with them, both the vets and the receptionists have been so kind about the loss of my four legged friend- sending a card and caring words when on the phone as well as giving valuable, clear and professional advice/diagnosis. I would highly recommend them.

Amazing Vets with amazing people This is an amazing Vets with amazing people working there. From the vets, to the veterinary nurses and the lovely girls on reception. We have been using them for the whole of the life our lovely little Bichon Frise dog who is now 6 and half! From initial inoculations, neutering, annual vaccinations, teeth cleaning and now on going care for his life long skin condition. Nothing is too much trouble. We are welcomed like old friends when ever we go and visit. We have nothing but praise and recommend you to everyone we know. Thank you so much for a gold star service.

Made appointment online . Had double booked dog groom same day. Rang up to change. Forgot to make a not of receptionist name. Went in on new appointment day. Told very rudely I had missed the appointment yesterday. I could not prove it. I was made to feel like a lowly worm. The actual vet was a lovely man who explained everything to me. Will go again but will note everyone's name !

I originally chose this vet after a bad experience with a local vet. My main reason was the opening hours and 7 days a week, especially as i work shifts. All the staff have been fantastic every time i have visited, from the warm welcome by reception staff to the experienced vets. On my last visit my dog had to stay in during the day, for 2 days. They kept me updated on his progress and i felt assured that he was in good hands. However, the one thing that reassured me more than anything was my dogs reaction to the vet when he went back daily. We saw the same vet, Christos and my dog was delighted to see him every time. My dog is now on the road to recovery, which is down to the excellent care he received.

My cat has recently had an operation on his knee. The care he received was exceptional. The vet who operated went above and beyond, wanting to be kept informed even when he was on leave. I have to speak as i find and even the reception staff and nurses were brilliant. I was kept informed of costs at each step of the way. Over the past 6 weeks we have been frequent visitors and on each occasion the care has been brilliant.

We cannot thank the wonderful team at The Vet Southampton enough, Especially Abby Winchester who, it is no exaggeration to say, has saved our dog Rosie's life twice now, against all odds. They work differently from some vets so there is occasions when you have to wait a little longer, but they always make sure they prioritise emergency cases so we would gladly let others go ahead of us if their need is greater. We have always been pleased with the compassion and ability shown by the staff, both the medical staff and reception team and personally we feel they offer a better service than other vets in the area with higher prices. Highly impressed with the customer care and support given at front desk by Callie. I have a very reactive Rottie/Mastiff and each time we visit the whole situation is handled perfectly, professionally and completely seamlessly. Visiting the vets before at other practices was a highly stressful experience, now I don't have to worry, alongside this any questions asked are dealt with immediately. The whole team are fantastic.The care plan at the practice is worth it too

Signed up to pet plan got flea and worm meds in the price and got a free consultation and my dog need more meds sorted very fast and affordable 👍the vet was very helpful and explained how to give meds it is a relaxing check in and comfy waiting area 😀

I transferred to this practice 4 years ago after problems when the owners of the practice retired and it became too interested in making money and advising treatments that were not necessary and were overpriced. Although I do not always see the same vet, I do not feel pressurised into having unnecessary treatments and the fees are reasonable.

My greyhound Paddy went lame recently and it was a very tough time as it was not obvious how this had happened. The vet, Poppy, worked him up and when she needed some advice was quick to email colleagues and arrange for his x-ray to be reviewed. She kept me informed of their conversations and the treatment plan. Fortunately he has made a good recovery and as you can imagine I am very grateful to The Vet for this. Paddy was well cared for and the staff were very helpful. The only comment I would make that is negative would be that when he had to stay at the out of hours vet overnight there was not any indication of the potential cost (£460) as he was insured but this was a large chunk out of his cover, I would have preferred to know that was an expensive service to use. Overall I found them caring and they solved his problem, they are convenient to use with reasonable waits and parking is very good.

I've been taking my two rather timid rescue cats here since I got them as kittens about 18 months ago. The staff (front desk and vets) have been lovely to both me and my moggies and I think the clinic's prices are pretty good. I signed up for the monthly membership which has saved me a bit of money over the months and I get text reminders when I need to do their regular treatments, which I find really helpful.

Working away from home, I couldn't go to my local vet 60 miles away so found The Vet on-line. I saw a vet within 2 hours of my call. The staff were just great and the medication my dog received has improved her condition amazingly within 24hours. Highly recommended!

The Vet was recommended to me by a friend so I tried them. First experience last year wasn't good (with Jinx my ferret) but my recent experience with them was great (29th and 31st Jan) my cats Panda and Bo needed a pre dental and a scale and polish they were treated very nicely by the nurses. Only bad points are the waiting room gets very loud and owners aren't asked to keep dogs quiet which doesn't help de stress my cats. And I wasn't called when I was allowed to pick the boys up as the said they'd do, I had to call them (not really a big deal but I was worried) All in all I'm happy with the way my cats and I were treated and the price was half the cost of a quote I got from my usual vet for a teeth clean. Will definitely come back again :)

My 10 month puppy had just had her first season and got a yeast infection afterwards. the vets quickly gave her an injection to help clear it and 5 days of pills plus bum wipes to clear all the symptoms. the update visit was even more helpful as i could ask the vet more specific questions about if her diet was the cause and the vet did an indepth check into my dogs condition and i came out more informed. very quick to act, informative, shame about the £125 bill though.

Lovely and clean, staff were very helpful and friendly. The vet was nice and very professional, it was our new kittens first visit and she made him feel welcome and calmed him down. The cost of treatment compared to anywhere else in southampton is amazing. The kitten start plan was £60, a lot of other places I had researched were double or nearly double that cost.

The team have been looking after my dog Milo for the past year since his initial inoculations at 8 weeks old, the staff are brilliant with him especially one of the receptionist who always remembers Milo as he had a spell of fussy eating which he has now got over, but she always inquires after him. He was neutered 6 weeks ago and the after care service and check ups were great!

I took my dog to the vet Tuesday morning as she had deteriorated quickly since the weekend. I waited about 15 mins to be seen, the vet was lovely and very reassuring. Went through a quote of what it was going to cost me as my pooch was very poorly. I was asked to leave her with them for the tests and they would get in touch with a diagnosis. It was just over an hour before they called to inforn me she was a very poorly girl and needed an operation, which they were going to do the same day. I cannot fault this surgery at all. Due to the nature of my dogs illness i was very upset, the staff were very friendly and supportive. I do have a different but didnt feel confident in him and it would have cost me twice the amount. I understand that it is a walk in vet so i will always be prepared to wait in order for my beloved pooch to get the best possible care without going bankrupt. Thank you so much for saving my dog...

Absolutely remarkable practice. I just walked in on a Sunday morning with an 8 week old pup with unknown history. Both the receptionist and the vet (that we saw just 1 hour later) were fabulous. I should say at this point that I don't even live in Southampton, I'm just here on extended vacation. I wish the practices where I live were this easy to access.

Lovely people, great service, but sometimes the wait to see a vet is over an hour. I have often signed in, waited and then had to leave without being seen, as only one vet on and loads of people waiting. Couldn't they work an appointment system, or perhaps put more vets on consults when the other is in the operating room? Please work something out as I don't want to go to another vet.

I have used the vet southampton since getting Lola as a puppy. We had her neutered and she was looked after very well. I cant praise this place enough always a welcome face at the reception the veteterian nurses always take time to speak to Lola and the vets are wonderful with her. All the staff make this a happy place for lola to come to and not be afraid.which makes me a happy dog owner. Keep up the good work.

Fantastic, caring practice with reasonable prices. My border collie, Ben, always enjoys the fuss he gets from the Receptionists when he comes for treatment. The vets have always managed to sort out whatever problems he has, including referring him to a specialist clinic dealing with dermatology. The fact that you don't need an appointment and that they are open late makes for a very flexible business model to support those who work 9-5 and can't take time off work during the day to take their pets to the vet.

Took my dog Coco for a 6 month check up last Friday. Went at 8.20am and only had a few people in front of me. The vet was very friendly and caring. Coco is not too happy going to the vet, as she had ripped a dew claw in the past, and had a bad experience. I wouldn't like to have a long wait with her, so best to go early.

I was disappointed as I went to see the vet, which was recommended by my colleague, after i suspected my cat had been hit by a bike. She was very sore and I suspected internal injury. The wait was agony and they were letting dogs through before my cat just for jabs. I thought accidents should have gone first. But once in the room, they were very thorough and turns out my cat didn't have any serious injury but better be safe than sorry

This was my first trip to the “vets “ at Millbrook with my beautiful Tom , a rescue cat who had been with me for five years . Tragically my boy had to be put to sleep which was something I wasn’t prepared for . In light of this all the staff were extremely professional and compassionate . I wasn’t kept waiting unnecessarily , everything was explained in detail and I was updated immediately at home of Toms condition after I had left him there to receive treatment . The circumstances surrounding our frequent visits to The Vet Southampton were unfortunate for our cat Barney and our Kitten Maxwell. Karen and the reception staff have been more than supportive throughout our visits and were kind enough to send us a card with their sympathies when Max unfortunately passed away. I would recommend The Vet Southampton to anybody in the area - they are very accommodating and helped us through some very tough times. I've brought a couple of our pet rats to this vet and they have always treated them to best of their abilities. The prices of check-ups and medications are very reasonable and the staff are always very polite and helpful.

3rd review on this vets. No problem this time with the normally fictitious website waiting times, and the vet i saw, one I have not seen before was good. I only needed some non prescription disinfectant scrub and the vet asked me if i had some as she said many people do. I didn't, so i was given a 200ml bottle. I was charged £49 for consultation and the scrub. All fine ...until I got home and after ear ache from the wife, looked online and found that I could have got a 250ml bottle from any chemist for £6. So, either their consultation fees have rocketed in the last few months or they are ripping you off for anything you may need. You decide.

I’ve had nothing but excellent service at The Vet from the receptionists, nurses and vets (I don’t think we’ve seen the Sam person twice, but this is not a negative). I got my rescue Border Collie Merk less than a year ago, he is nervous of strangers and doesn’t enjoy a trip to the vet, but everyone here has been so understanding of his situation, taking time to put him at ease. Although not for everyone, the ‘no appointment’ setup and the late opening times suits us, and their prices are certainly competitive. They also do a great value healthcare plan, which means that Merk’s flea and worming treatment is taken care of and also includes two consultations. This came in handy only this week when I discovered a lump on Merk’s leg - a trip to the vet and subsequent peace of mind came at no additional cost. Thanks to all for the care you have provided so far to Merk - would recommend to anyone in the Southampton area and will continue to use in the future.

My dog (Border Collie)had gone lame on her left front leg and I was told to lead walk her for a couple of weeks as it was probably spondilitis and she needed to slow down. If it didn't improve I could book her in for X-rays. I left it for 3 weeks and then booked her in. The nurse who was doing the paperwork said there were notes that plates should be taken for all 4 legs, her hips and spine. The estimate of costs were about £400 and she thought that the number of plates seemed rather excessive for problems with only 1 leg , so she called the admitting vet in to have a look. He examined her and said that her knee was swollen, had I tried anti-inflammatories ? I hadn't been offered them, so I came away with two weeks worth to try, so we will see how that goes. I am a little surprised that i wasn't offered the drugs in the first place but grateful that I didn't have to proceed with X-rays until trying them. Differing opinions from 2 vets though

I sadly took my sister’s 19 year old cat (because she was too upset to) to The Vet as she needed to be euthanised. I and Minnie Mouse were treated with respect, dignity and kindness. I noticed when leaving that a candle had been lit in reception which was a lovely touch. On visiting my sister today I noticed that she’s been sent a sympathy card from the team with a pawprint of Minnie Mouse for her to have as a keepsake. This made a sad and upsetting experience a little more bearable.

Took our dog rudy to be spayed and there was problems which meant they had to reoperate. The way they were with Rudy was amazing. Have been going here for 3 years. Always been pleased with the level of care and price, BUT, over the last 6 months or so they seem to have become a victim of their own success. Seem woefully understaffed meaning waiting for over an hour on many occasions and phones calls not being answered at all or at best being put on hold for ages. For instance, this morning I have rung 4 times, three times they have not even bothered to answer and once I was put on hold and then cut off. The website is out of date. Used to love the availability of the vets chart so you could see when your favourite vet was available, but this is not been updated to include all the vets. The waiting time part may as well not be there, I realise things change in minutes with emergencies etc but when it says 10 minutes and you arrive 5 minutes later only to wait over an hour, it is a bit annoying. At the moment I will continue to use them, but if things dont improve, I will be taking my two elsewhere

It is a walk in facility but now they do a session for special appointments from 1-3 o'clock. It must be very popular because it is always very busy, having said that there are quiet times and looking on line to see how they are doing at the particular time you wish is a very good idea. Prices are usually very competitive too.

I have been going to the vet for a long time, I regularly get my cats claws clipped by the lovely nurses, when I first went it cost me £5 then they put the price up to £7 which is reasonable, however today they charged me a whopping £12 that’s nearly double than when I last went which was a few months previous, needless to say I wasn’t happy that they put the price up by an extortionate amount, I know prices have risen but can not believe they have risen to nearly double, I’m one unhappy client 😞

Always have had a good experience. The staff are very friendly. Sometimes there can be a bit of a wait, but that is to be expected with a walk-in set up. Personally I prefer the walk-in service.

Great place and friendly staff, just try to keep the dogs away from the Cats area. There was people sitting with Dogs in the Cats section, so my cat was very stressed.
