We have been seeing Simon Tai and some of the other wonderful vets at this practice since 2003 for our 3 dogs and cat. We lost our last dog in May 2020 and now we have a new puppy we have returned to City Road and a warm welcome for our puppy. We live in Newquay but the journey to Truro is well worth it. We are able to say, without reservation, that we have received what we believe to be the best care possible for our animals and we completely trust in the knowledge and skills of the professionals in the practice - clearly a primary concern. We have also been amazed by the way everyone at the practice: vets, nurses and reception staff is second to none in their kindness and understanding sharing joyful moments with us as well as the grief of end of life care with sensitivity, kindness and skill and that has made us feel valued. We are also thrilled that Kim, one of the nurses, was able to give us some valuable advice on coping with some of our puppy’s behaviour. The advice has proved positive. Wonderful!! So a big thank you to City Road. We can’t recommend you highly enough, you are second to none.

I had to leave this review, we recently had to have our very old and sick rescue cat, we were so upset and the vets were amazing. So professional and friendly!! Some time passed and today we received a beautiful card and some flower seeds . I just wanted to thank them and leave this review because I blown away by what a lovely gesture that was! I have been a client of city road for many years now, and always delighted by the standard of care that is given to both myself and my pets. They are very experienced vets, with several areas of expertise and specialties. There are four veterinary practises closer to my home, but some things in life are worth going that extra mile for, and City Road Vets is definitely one of them. You can feel the friendly atmosphere from the minute you open the door, and it is very noticeable how happy all the nurses and receptionists are in their jobs.

Never had any problems visiting city vets with my spaniel always felt comfortable and been well cared for. Yesterday was a different difficult experience for her though, she was ABSOLUTELY petrified of the ppe face masks when the nurse came to me outside to collect my spaniel,this was a very upsetting experience for the poor dog, hopefully this has not upset her for further visits .

Easy to make an appointment and see the vet of your choice , although all of them are wonderfull. I am a pet sitter and needed to take a cat I was sitting to his registered practice. Nice atmosphere and friendly reception staff, vet wasn’t quite as friendly but still ok. Also the prices seemed rather high even for just a consult fee so this put me off going myself . Really good aspect on website that you can book an appointment online for a certain time short notice etc.

Excellent vets, cannot recommend then highly enough. My dog recently had to have his eye removed and city road where amazing ,from our vet, veterinary nurse,the receptionists , to behind the scenes . So compassionate, caring and not just to my dog ,i was in bits alot and the reassurance and communication on every step was outstanding. I know they say its thete job but they truly show there passion and commitment to the care and treatment of our animals and do go above and beyond, even coming in on there day off to have that continuity of care. Always greeted with a smile. The surgery is so clean and the service top notch. Lots of personal touches too. My dog used to be scared of visiting you, but the holistic approach you offer has completely changed him, he's now calm and tale wagging when we come.

There is a subscription pet club to ensure the routine care e.g. Worming, fleaing, nail care, dental care etc are taken care of. Pleasant clean waiting area with a separate area for cat's, bowls of water and doggy treats provided ! Always come away feeling my pet's have been well treated by staff who really care.

I would highly recommend registering your pet here. The staff are amazing and there is a separate waiting room for cats, which is an excellent idea. There's some lovely art on the walls as well as lots of information about how to recognise specific ailments or tips on how best to look after older pets, for example. If your pet needs to stay for treatment over a few days, you can visit them and the vet very clearly explains what has been done and how best to look after your pet once they are home.

I most highly recommend City Road Vets, they deserve more than 5 stars. When we couldn't get in at a well known nationwide vets (because they didn't believe it was a serious enough case to get an emergency appointment), City Road were our knights in shining armour, got us in that day and it was discovered that our little old man had suffered a stroke. From that day on, we have never received so much love, care, support and thoroughness with any vets in Merlin's 18 year history. Sadly, we had to say goodbye to Merlin a couple of weeks ago but, again, City Road made this the most personal, loving experience. It felt like they were a part of our family too, they cared for him (and us) just as much as we do. Their approach is of the highest professionalism and sensitivity, we are forever indebted to them and will never use another surgery so long as we live near Truro. Deepest thanks to all the team, you have been so important to our little family. xxx
