Thanks to the course I have gained a clear understanding of the importance of creating and maintaining a ‘professional’ blog and its construction. Jonny hosted a seminar on Search Engine Optimisation recently that I had the pleasure of attending. As I knew very little on the subject at the beginning whilst others amongst us knew more, Jonny was able to present at different levels and still keep it informative, "changing gear" as it were when it was necessary. I'm quite quick on the uptake so it didn't take me long to understand terminology etc but Jonny was careful to check that we were all keeping up and answer any questions we had. I attended the East Riding of Yorkshire program about social media for small businesses a few months ago. To say I was skeptical about their real impact on my business is an understatement. We benefited from courses given by various speakers, all professionals supposed to show us the power of these tools and how to use them when they are integrated into the marketing mix of a brand, a company whatever its size, and particularly small businesses. Each course began with each attendee introducing itself, making clear from the start that I am French. Each speaker had therefore the possibility to adapt its diction, accent, so that each and every attendee would understand. Of all of these speakers, only two have been doing this and Jonni was one of them. Besides technical skills and clarity of his presentations that have led me to see these tools in a different way, there is a critical factor in his classes, he cares for his audience and leaves no bitter feeling that the workshops are there for him to pick up new contacts and harassing them afterwards with emails to catch new clients. He is one of the few who understood that the workshops were there to guide us in our search for solutions rather than offer him a new panel of potential customers at every new course. I am sure he had more feedback from the attendees than any other lecturer. To conclude, I would say that Jonni is a very skilled person who has the ability to make you understand complete impalpable concepts. Cherry on the cake, he cares. I remain convinced that these tools are not really suited to some business like mine unless you spend a lot time criticising, showing that true professionals are better than 'non qualified well-equipped' amateurs. In my case, it's more visual than wordings, therefore what are SEO, blogs and so on useful for?

When I first met up with Jonny Ross I had absolutely no idea how sites like Linked In, Facebook and all the other similar sites actually operated. The dinosaurs did not all go 400 million years ago, there are still a few of us left, however, this dinosaur now has a good working knowledge of what to do with these sites and just how helpful they can be. I still haven't figured out how many gallons there are in a gigabite but a few more consultations should get me sorted out with that one. Instructions and passing of information are made easy by this group and I thoroughly recommend it to anyone trying to get a firm grip on current technology and information highways.
