I joined Steph Hammond Pilates nearly 3 months ago. I really enjoy it and no session is the same. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. Steph has so much knowledge and has helped me with a couple of body niggles which the doctor couldn’t put right. Always a good workout and a fun place to be, I feel so uplifted when I leave class.

I've been doing pilates now for over 20 years and have done a variety of classes with a number of different teachers.
I often find pilates teachers will settle into a predictable pattern of exercises for each class. This can then get a little boring over time - particularly given the whole pilates repertoire.
Having worked with Steph now for 2.5 years, each class is materially different each week. Yes, there is typically progression to work on some aspect in each block of lessons, but the lessons are always different. This means I am gaining more all-around body strength, mobility and stability in a way I have not done before.
Until working with Steph the pilates I had done were mostly from the classical repertoire. I like the fact that Steph mixes up exercises from both the contemporary and classical repertoire. One week you may be using the foam rollers and the next week small hand weights or no props at all. She is also able to cater for most people's injuries in class. Even adapting 3 months of classes for me while I was in a fracture boot.
After 2 years of working with Steph and handling a significant number of injuries in this time, I am now much, much stronger than I was (as my personal trainer and physio say) with an incredibly strong core and really good balance despite the challenges of joint hypermobility.
In fact, I credit the 2 years of pilates with Steph as a major positive in my rehab journey. This is why after a recent set back and surgery I asked Steph to lead on my rehab work.
Yes, Steph will push you in class, and yes the classes will be fun. Steph also takes an individual interest in everyone who attends the class. She really does have her members' interests at the heart of what she is doing.

I’m new to Pilates after spending years doing high impact exercise and then having a back problem which has really limited me. I came to one of Steph’s back care workshops which was in a lovely setting with a small group of people and felt like my limitations were really taken into consideration and adaptations provided. I didn’t feel like I was being looked at because I was doing a different thing to everyone else - we all had our limitations. I also needed to build my confidence in getting back into a class environment so did a couple of 1:1’s to understand the exercises better and now have attended a couple of classes and been made to feel very welcome and my back has felt the best it has in years! It’s nice to be able to have a laugh and giggle too. I would recommend Steph’s classes to anyone feeling apprehensive about getting back into exercise.

Both my husband and myself enjoy our Pilates with Steph very much and look forward to our class. Steph is an amazing instructor and watches everyone so well making sure we are doing the movements correctly to get the best possible benefit. Her knowledge is outstanding and we feel in safe hands, both being in the older age group. Thanks Steph and our other class mates for the banter and camaraderie.

A fantastic pilates studio run by an excellent instructor. Steph keeps the sessions varied enough to not get bored and with focus enough to see and feel results.

I have attended classes here since the studio opened. There are a range of pilates/pilates-based classes to suit all levels, abilities and ages. There are also a good range of specialist 'pop up' classes throughout the year. The studio is well-equipped and the range of equipment provides an additional level of both challenge and support. Instructors are knowledgable, highly qualified and passionate about their practice. Class members are friendly and welcoming, meaning you get to work hard but in a supportive and good-humoured way!
