I completed 6 one-to-one sessions with Karen for postnatal pilates, to help me mend the 4 fingers Diastasis rectai after giving birth to my daughter. She focused on strengthening the core, closing the abdominal gap, pelvic floor, glutes. Also, correcting my posture and making sure you avoid positions that may hurt your back, shoulders, neck. I would definitely recommend her, as I've managed to close the gap to less than a finger and no back pains for now! Thanks Karen 😊

Karen is a wonderful practitioner. I had never attempted Pilates before and thought I would be absolutely lost, but Karen is very patient and explains the moves and makes sure I know what I am supposed to be doing. It is early days for me but I am so glad these initial sessions have started so well and have encouraged me to keep going. Karen is very professional and I would highly recommend her one to one classes. I wish I had started this ages Ago!

I've always been 'fast' but never remember being flexible. This inflexibility has come to a point where it's impacting my lifestyle and the GP has recommended I take up Pilates. Fortunately I've discovered 'Edinburgh Pilates' and with Karen's patient and professional approach I feel I'm making excellent progress. From Day 1 it was clear Karen's expertise in analysing and understanding my limitations were second to none and the exercises so tailored to my needs. Despite being reasonably fit and active I was aware of increasing stiffness and lack of flexibility and a friend suggested I try pilates . Karen took time to assess what my problems were and explained in clear terms what needed to be fixed and how she proposed to do it. When seeking out a Pilates class I had a very specific aim of learning more about my own body, and, as a "mature" woman, wanted to build up flexibility and strength, and to be taught exercises I could practice at home. Karen is a wonderful, enthusiastic teacher, is always encouraging and explains the function of each exercise clearly. The one to one tuition was superb and Karen was very patient and a great teacher. With a family history of severe osteoporosis I decided I was at an age when I should be pro-active about fending it off. After doing some on-line research I decided that Pilates would suit me & fortunately found Edinburgh Pilates on line. I came as a complete novice and have to say that Karen is one of the most approachable, adaptable and enthusiastic people that I have ever had teaching me anything! It is never too much trouble to her to explain a position to you,until you master it. She has also had to be very adaptable as, after only three months, I suffered a back injury (nothing to do with Pilates & everything to do with thinking I'm younger than I actually am!!). Over the course of the next few weeks, Karen patiently went through various positions that would benefit me, assessing that I was comfortable every step of the way, whilst still teaching the rest of the class, who also had their own various problems. You never feel that you are floundering at the back of the class and you are never made to feel silly for asking any question or seeking any clarification on any position. She has helped me so much and I would have no hesitation in recommending her classes to anyone.

I started pilates with Karen last year,over 6 months ago now, and it is definetly the best thing I have ever done for myself.Karen is a fabulous tutor.Her attention to detail and individual encouragement in the class has helped me understand the core and improve my core strength.For years I have had lower back ,and more recent years, neck problems and her personal hands on approach has helped me understand my body and enables me to work the problem areas out myself but, knowing my limitations, ensures Im working the correct muscles to ease the pain and maintain mobility.Thanks to Karen I have noticed a huge improvement in my posture and this has given me better confidence in my daily life and greater mobility to keep up with my 6 year old!.Karen has a kind nature and very approachable manner and I would highly recommend anyone interested in pilates to come to her classes.Thursdays has become the best day of my week all thanks to Karen!My husband is loving the improved me too!!

At Edinburgh Pilates, Karen's main focus is always my well-being and I have full confidence in her ability and knowledge. Karen always takes the time to understand how I’m feeling and adjusts the programme to suit. This was particularly evident after a fall I had had and she was wonderful in coaxing me back to fitness.
She is friendly and knowledgable and her studio is a haven of calm. By carefully watching my every movement, she can adjust my activities so that I benefit without putting pressure on my joints or muscles. Nothing is rushed and her approach is always supportive and very encouraging. I strongly recommend Edinburgh Pilates.
