Reviews of Yoga with Petra

When I joined my company, 5 years ago now, I was lucky enough to find out they offer yoga lessons as a company perk.
I've never done yoga before then, and in these 5 years Petra has taught me everything I know about postures, breathing techniques and balance.
Her lessons embrace all levels and age range and there's nothing better after a day at work than releasing stress having a proper stretch.
Thank you so much Petra, highly recommend!

Petra's yoga has been phenomenal for me! I am so grateful for the corporate yoga my company provides with Petra, a longstanding professional relationship that has really enabled long-term improvements to my health.
I'm especially pleased with the work on my kyphosis and scoliosis - Petra adapts classes with ease to ensure special focus on problem areas for students, and has given me a range of exercises to work on at home too (with feedback given on Instagram, even!)
I couldn't be happier with the classes.
(Also, Petra's a wonderful character and very easy to get on with!)

Petra is one of the best teachers you could possibly hope to have. Her knowledge, passion and love for yoga is so inspiring and for me my practice and learning has hugely benefited from my time with her. I feel challenged but safe. I can’t recommend Petra highly enough - I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to learn and grow as a student with Petra and my confidence both on and off the mat has improved since practicing with her. Thank you Petra x

I have been doing yoga with Petra for nearly two years, she is a great teacher whether you have lessons in person or on zoom. I have tight hips and Petra has definitely helped reduce the tightness and she also has taught me how to do headstands and back bends. She makes yoga fun but she does like to challenge you and has her own style of encouraging you to try harder. If you get to see her in person the yoga wall she has is a real treat to use.

Petra is an incredible yoga teacher - so knowledgable and inspiring. In just three months I feel much stronger, more stable and more flexible (I was a bit of a wreck before) thanks to her expert tuition. What makes Petra extra special is the practical advice and dry humour that accompanies her expertise. I learn and laugh in every class! No wonder she has so many students who have been with her for many, many years. I hope to become one of them!

I have been practicing yoga for 8 years, and Petra is among the most precise instructors with whom I have worked. Her awareness of subtle movement and small shifts in my body--even over zoom--have unlocked things in my practice that I've never been able to do before. The atmosphere in her studio (again, live or virtually) is really warm. There is laughing, occasional ribbing--and lots of firm-but-kind correction. And Petra notices when her students do things right,
which is surprisingly important! It is really motivating.
I really recommend Petra's classes, truly to folks at any level. I started going with my dad, who is in his mid-70s and started with the goal of being able to touch his toes. Now he's hopping up into crow like it's nothing.

I have been doing Zoom yoga with Petra for about a year now. She is a great teacher who challenges you to try new things whilst making yoga fun. In the last year Petra has challenged my body by introducing the wheel pose. Using some cleverly placed props I am now able to get into the pose and hold it for 5 counts.

Petra is one of the most knowlegeable yoga teachers I have had the pleasure to learn from. One of the things I most value is her knowledge of anatomy, physiology and the mind-body connection that she incorporates in her yoga teaching. On top, she is intelligent and witty and her classes are as enjoyable and relaxing as they are healing and strengthening!
M. V.
Petra is the only yoga teacher for me! You get lots of personal attention, and she manages to push me and my body beyond what I thought I was capable of. This is also the only yoga class I have ever laughed in. I discovered yoga later in life, and before Petra, I had tried multiple different studios. I was a beginner, not very flexible, very self-conscious - and found myself making excuses not to go. Not with Petra! It's serious yoga in the most relaxed and fun atmosphere. And that hanging wall...I come out feeling tall and perfectly postured. You haven't tried yoga until you've tried it with Petra!

Thank you Petra for the divine workshops that are always innovative and most importantly shared with love. I'm looking forward to the next workshops. Keep shining ✨

I LOVE Petras' yoga session. I found Petra because of her therapeutic yoga expertise. I have been going regularly to her now since October 2019. Her lessons are thorough, she is clear and articulate and she pushes me but does it in a fun and light way.
Last week I had a tight knot in my neck which lasted several days and created a low grade constant headache. Normally I would have gone to a chiropractor but When I mentioned it to Petra, She focused on it with several yoga poses and moves. It totally disappeared and has not returned since.

I wish I could say that Petra Yoga is the best kept secret in Kentish Town but it is not. Petra is very famous for her yoga teachings, her humour and her tough love. I first did pregnancy yoga with Petra in Islington 16 years ago. I rediscovered her in Kentish Town 10 years ago now and have been hooked since. Petra is improving my practice with so much attention and patience. I’m practising more with Petra, getting stronger and sleeping like a baby. Thank you Petra!

Petra’s mummy and baby yoga classes are amazing! If you’re looking to sneak in some exercise in a baby friendly environment, then you need to join Petra’s classes! I joined when my daughter was just 6 weeks old and we went right up until she was almost one. Petra is a brilliant teacher and because the classes are small, she makes sure that everyone gets lots of attention and is getting the most out of the yoga. The classes are hard work, but you really feel like you’ve had a proper work out and they have definitely helped me get back in shape after having my daughter. Petra is great with all of the babies and will always try and soothe them if they are upset, so mummy can get on with the yoga! Mummy and baby yoga was always one of the highlights of our week – I got the chance to do some exercise and my daughter got to hang out with other babies! I’ve also made some really good new mummy friends through Petra’s classes which has been really nice. I’m now pregnant again and going to Petra’s pregnancy yoga classes (which are also amazing!) and already I can’t wait to start mummy and baby yoga with baby number 2. I couldn’t recommend Petra’s classes highly enough!

As a Covid recovering asthmatic with breathing issues, Petra’s amazing knowledge of yoga poses and breathing techniques has really helped. If you are in a similar position I would really recommend Petra, she really is a talented teacher with incredible knowledge and understands what will help you. Go for it, you won’t look back.

Having had chronic back pain for nearly 40 years the only person that has managed to help me physically move more easily is Petra. She has now got me doing back bends as if I was 6 and not 66! and has taught me how to manage my bad days through yoga practice. She wears beautiful yoga outfits and has a great sense of humour.
Y. B.
I had the opportunity to do yoga with Petra because my sister has been practicing with her for many years. We did zoom sessions, and I was impressed at her knowledge and the way she can observe closely even when virtual. Thank you Petra for motivating me to continue with my practice. How I wish I can live in London to continue practicing with you.
J. Y.
I am a yoga teacher and I came from Dublin for Petra's Lower back pain workshop. I was particularly interested to experience her workshop, as Petra has many years of experience in helping people with specific problems. I have had an ongoing problems with my lower back for the past 2 years and although, I practice yoga regularly, I was astonished to find out how helpful Petra's workshop was. Petra's knowledge of yoga therapy is very extensive and she is up to date with all the methods and techniques that are available. The workshop was very professional and beneficial, but Petra's sense of humour and ability to make you feel good and relaxed makes the whole experience very unique.
I would highly recommend, you are definitely in for a treat.

Petra's classes were the highlight of my week during pregnancy! Gentle stretches helped maintain flexibility and mobility and relieved back pain and general pregnancy niggles, while learning about the best positions for an active labour and relaxation and breathing techniques gave me confidence, and also a space for reflection about my new baby. Petra is brilliant at explaining the why poses are good for pregnancy and labour, and she makes sure the class is really inclusive whatever stage of your pregnancy you're in.
I also attended Petra's birth preparation workshop which I highly recommend as teaches your partner the best way of supporting you during labour and they can learn about what you've been up to in her classes! I ended up having a c-section but the relaxation and breathing techniques I learnt at her classes helped massively during the procedure.
Petra is a warm, down-to-earth and fun teacher who fosters a friendly and supportive atmosphere in the class, I can't wait to start her mother and baby yoga classes.

I started attending Petra's pregnancy yoga classes when I was 20 weeks' pregnant. Petra's approach to yoga is thorough yet fun and friendly. The breathing techniques I learnt at her classes were very helpful to manage pain during labour. The classes were also a good way to relax after a stressful day at work and to meet some lovely ladies who were going through the same experience as me.

I've started pregnancy yoga with Petra when I was 4 months pregnant and absolutely loved it! It was such an amazing preparation to birth and I've used so many of Petra's breathing techniques during delivery. I've also done her couples' pregnancy workshop and to quote my other half 'it was way better than the 2.5 days of NCT class!'
I'm now still a student doing mummy & baby yoga with my little boy who is 8 months and we totally adore Petra's class :)
E. H.
I went to Petra's mummy and baby yoga classes with my first daughter and was very pleased to be able to start going again recently when my second daughter was 7 weeks. The classes are so friendly and welcoming and, because they are small, Petra gives everyone the individual attention they need as well as offering some help with the babies when needed! These classes definitely helped me regain my strength and flexibility and I've also met lots of other mums and babies though them. I really look forward to the class each week.

Petra is an amazing teacher -- she has guided me with great attention my personal needs. I'm normally someone who dislikes physical activity and who quits classes after a few times. Petra has even inspired me to do some yoga sequences at home. I'm grateful for her skills and guidance.
J. H.
Petra is a great teacher - she is firm but fun, and not intimidating or too 'yogi' in the way that some yoga studios can be. The other regular students are really friendly, and as the class sizes are small and informal, you get a lot of really valuable help from Petra - who really knows her stuff. Everyone should go! She's brilliant!

Petra is a great teacher. A former ballerina, Croatian high-school mathematics champion and PhD in mechanical engineering, Petra brings a variety of different skills to yoga. She has the empathy to figure out what each student wants to achieve, and help them to do so. Whether you’re looking to develop some serious yoga abilities, work on a dodgy back or just stave off stiffness, Petra can help. And she’s funny.

I have 3 children and have done antenatal yoga with Petra during each pregnancy and also postnatal yoga with the babies. Petra has helped me to prepare for 3 natural births and regain core strength afterwards. The sessions are fun and Petra tailors the poses to each individual. I have also made good friends from these classes, as have my kids!

I have been a student of Petra for over 10 years and since I began self practice at Petra's studio in Kentish Town I have progressed at a much quicker rate. Petra knows her students very well and gives tailored and very constructive feedback and adjustments in every class, helping you develop in your practice and over come any challenges you face. There is a great community feel to the class and it is great to see all of the other students progressing as well. I highly recommend!

I have been going to Petra for more than 10 years and I think she is wonderful teacher. She continues to amaze me with her understanding of each individual student's different strengths, weaknesses and goals. I have gone to lots of other yoga teachers but from my experience Petra is definitely the best.
V. T.
Petra is a wonderful and knowledgable teacher and such a warm and friendly person. I love practicing with Petra and Zoom yoga has certainly kept me positive during lockdown!

Great workshop with Petra Yoga at Divya Therapy online workshop series. Thank you Petra, we are happy to learn from you again soon. <3 :D

Three years ago I decided to try Petra’s yoga classes after being impressed by how well a colleague looked since attending her yoga classes. It is the first time in 55 years that I have been so committed and disciplined about attending an exercise class. I have even surprised myself by starting an early morning self practice routine this year in addition to attending classes twice a week! As a medical doctor I have had many patients who have moved gracefully through their later and last years of life from practising yoga regularly. Petra’s classes are thoughtfully considered and the teaching is of a high standard with personal tailoring to individual challenges. Because of this attention I have developed an increasing fascination with my body’s ability to come through my limitations. I recommend these classes very highly.

I started going to Petra's pregnancy yoga classes just after my 20 weeks of pregnancy with my first baby. At first I wanted to prepare myself physically and mentally for labour but I soon realised that Petra's pregnancy yoga was more than that, it became a time where I could really focus, relax and connect not only with my body and mind but make friends with some of the other mums-to-be. Petra is a great, knowledgable and down to earth instructor who takes the time to explain and correct you with any of the positions. She makes each class valuable by sharing her experiences, expertise and useful tips with an outlook on life that is fun, positive and balanced which I really like! The classes really helped me overcome my 27hr of intense but natural labour (drug free) and the preparation class we did with my partner I would highly recommend as it helped not only me but also my partner to understand the key ways to get through labour together and to be on the same page. I am very happy to have discovered this great support and Petra's classes during my pregnancy. I would recommend it to all the preggos as it's valuable preparation to get through the labour marathon in the best way possible!
Now looking forward to the mum and baby classes :)

I have been doing yoga with Petra for four years now - she is a great teacher, who really takes the time to make sure I am doing the poses right and is really attuned to ensuring I avoid injuries, which is not something I can say for many of the teachers I have had over my life. She has also specially tailored the class for me and a couple of friends to be suited to people who do lots of running, cycling etc - so there's lots of classic yoga, but it's aimed at providing the sort of muscle treatment we need in particular. I love my weekly class and if I ever I have to go for a week or two without it I really feel it and really miss it. Overall I cannot recommend Petra enough.

Petra converted me to yoga! Having been a bit of a sceptic, and not a fan of the more ‘yogi’ elements of classes I had been to, I found Petra’s website a couple of years ago and decided to try it out as a way of complementing my gym training and to try to get more supple. Private lessons with Petra have been brilliant in her lovely studio – hugely beneficial to both my strength and flexibility. Petra is a very precise teacher, very observant of the details and makes small adjustments which I find make a big difference to me getting the most out of my sessions. When I had a back/hip injury, it was completely taken into consideration without me having to cancel sessions (although it did involve more of the dreaded ball and foam rollers – which worked though!) and I always leave with a spring in my step more energised for the day.

After a recommendation from a friend I started pregnancy yoga with Petra at 28 weeks and continued until my baby was born.
My partner and I also attended the couples' birth preparation workshop. Petra included my partner in the birth process, helping him with ways to support me Through childbirth in line with what we had been doing in yoga classes, and in general. We both left feeling pretty empowered and excited and what we had learned was valuable on the day. My partner took it all in and was amazing!
Petra gave me everything I needed for the birth, so much more than any antenatal class or book. Her breathing and movement techniques saw me through a 45 hour labour, including 12 hours on oxytocin, with nothing but 2 paracetamol and physical and mental focus that I believe came from the yoga classes (she does not discourage pain relief- it's just how I did things).
Thank you Petra, looking forward to starting mother and baby yoga soon!

I was recommended to Petra by my regular yoga teacher as I wanted to do some yoga specifically catering for labour. I started with Petra at 12 weeks. Petra's classes were just the ticket, they are simple exercises (no previous yoga experience required) you can do prior to birth to help prep both you and the baby/foetus. She also includes breathing exercises which were invaluable to me when I went into labour. As a mum of three she also has a wealth of knowledge and experience to help you with so many aspects of pregnancy including managing the various pains you get. Her couples workshop was also brilliant, it catered more towards to birth partners which was great as it gave my husband tricks and tips to help support me during my labour. The fact all the classes have the same format is great as it means when you are in labour you go onto autopilot. The small class size also means you get to meet other new mums.

Petra is a great teacher, always fun and supportive. She is fantastic at teaching people of all levels and has really helped me build my confidence.

From around week 16 of my first pregnancy I attended Petra's weekly pregnancy yoga class. These classes were the most valuable and helpful thing I did in the build up to the birth. Petra's classes are very birth focused for example practising 1 minute contractions with 1 minute rests in between - gave you a good sense of how long this was and during the birth this helped to remain positive knowing I could get through each one. The breathing (particularly the golden thread) and relaxation techniques I learned in the classes helped me to remain calm and focused during the birth. During pregnancy and labour I used the lots of the positions we practised in class, which I found particularly helpful when pushing. I would strongly recommend starting the classes as early as possible as it really cemented the different positions and techniques. Petra is an excellent teacher - she always explained why certain positions and techniques are helpful, which I found really useful. She was also very honest about the practicalities of birth, very refreshing. My partner and I also attended the couples preparation class - he found this the most useful class he came to, giving very practical and helpful advice for his role during the birth e.g. massage techniques. Thank you Petra!

What I really like about this class if the focus on the mothers regaining stretch/fitness, just that the babes are nearby (next to your yoga mat on a rug, Petra picks them up when they need attention so you can focus on stretch). I started going when my baby was 6 weeks and Petra gradually helped me get my strength back, helping me push myself and achieve stretches and twists that I did before pregnancy started by felt like a distant memory. It's really satisfying doing a class that you feel the benefits from straight away.

They say Yoga prolongs your body life. I don't know if it is a general truth but it certainly is the fact with Petra Yoga. Petra has managed to transform the way my body feels and has allowed me to not only continue my sporting activities but also increase the intensity of my training. Lower back pain is gone, knee pain is gone, shoulder pain is getting better. Petra's approach is unique. She will listen to ones' concerns and make a real effort to understand one's body and needs and devise the appropriate Yoga approach, one that is tailored especially to one's needs. Sessions can feel uncomfortable and painful at times but the results are always there at the end: a clear sense of muscle relaxation and inner body strengthening. I highly recommend that those out there who are into sports and want to keep going for a long time to try Petra Yoga. It will make a difference!

Petra is an amazing yoga teacher. Her knowledge of anatomy is vast and she has many years of experience in helping people. The studio is in her home in Kentish Town so it feels warm and welcoming, very important detail if you find big studios intimidating. I found her approach firm yet empathic, got loads of personal attention- the groups are limited in number so booking is a good idea- and have experienced long lasting benefits by applying what I've learned attending her workshops. I cannot recommend Petra highly enough!

Petra was one of my very first yoga teachers when I started yoga over ten years ago. I first learnt Ashtanga with Petra and was immediately impressed by her teaching style, her clear and precise instruction and knowledge of alignment and good body mechanics. She is continually learning and expanding her knowledge and has a wealth of knowledge in Iyengar/alignment; therapeutic and Ashtanga vinyasa yoga. Over the years I have attended workshops and classes with Petra and since I did yoga teacher training myself, a couple of years ago, I now have regular 1:1 sessions with Petra to improve my personal practice and become a better teacher. I absolutely love these sessions, she is a great teacher and mentor, always encouraging. I have learnt so much from her and am so grateful to have her as my teacher!

Petra has been giving weekly yoga classes at betty, our TV production company, for over ten years. The classes are an integral part of our culture, and are something that both staff and freelancers enjoy. The classes are usually made up of a mix of people from the office runner, up to the Joint Managing Director – some of us are good at yoga, some of us less so, but it doesn’t really matter. The atmosphere of the class is warm, friendly and engaging – so great for both beginners and experts alike – and it’s fun. Petra has a real knack of knowing how to run a class – she’s knowledgeable, professional and friendly. She’a good egg - she also gets the best out of all of us.
A. G.
Pregnancy yoga classes were so useful for me. I took great learning from Petra's class - the 1 minute squatting exercise helped me to realise that what relaxes me is "staying in my head", focusing on what I feel. During labour I used a lot the white light visualisation & appreciation techniques. I am so grateful for having had Petra as my yoga teacher

After trying several pregnancy yoga classes and not quite finding the right fit for me, I was recommended Petra by my regular yoga teacher and several friends, and I am so glad I took their advice! Petra's classes are extremely practical and fun! She is very experienced (she has three young children herself) and really knows her stuff. The classes take place in her lovely welcoming home studio in Kentish Town and are a nice intimate size so you she knows everyone by name and you get to meet other women at a similar stage to you .
As someone who is a regular yoga practitioner and also pretty active when not pregnant, I found the exercises extremely helpful for feeling good during my pregnancy and completely essential when put into practice during the labour for the birth of my daughter. Her method is to provide a straightforward set of movements that all link up cleverly to help you through the journey of each trimester to birth. Whether you have never taken a yoga class or are very experienced, you will find that this class really helps you during your pregnancy and gives you the practical tools to get through your labour. I cannot recommend her enough! I look forward to beginning the mum and baby classes in a few weeks time!

I was referred to Petra by my physiotherapist when I had a hip injury two years ago. I was in a lot of pain and my fitness had plummeted. Petra was able to increase my mobility and flexibility and I can now use my hip normally again. She has taught me how to manage the issues with my hip and I am now pain free and fit again. She has a thorough understanding of injuries and I trusted her completely with my rehabilitation. I highly recommend her.
N. S.
I would 100% recommend this studio to any and all. Whatever your reasons for doing Yoga might be, Petra is definitely the person to go to. Not only is she always cheerful and full of energy, which gets you in a great mood for the rest of the day, she is also a professional who helps you to progress day by day.
c. b.
Pregnancy yoga with Petra is perfect, she is so dedicated, she will give you lots of advice and breathing techniques to help you during your contractions, her workshop is also worth to go with your partner!! thank you Petra for being a super teacher.
J. F.
Petra rocks!! Started going to yoga while training for triathlons. Zero injuries since... which, given the number of times I used to pull something or other, is remarkable. Her self-practitioners sessions are easily recommendable! All good.
P. A.
Petra is a great teacher, who brings lots of personality to her sessions. Her positive energy is contagious! She does a really good job of teaching a class of mixed abilities and pushes everyone just the right amount for their level. I leave every class feeling like I've made progress and always look forward to the next one :)

I went to Petra Yoga in preparation for my first baby and then two years later left it all a bit late and only fit in one class before the birth of my second daughter.
I would say if anyone is expecting their second don't always listen to the hype about it being so much easier and will pop out without you even noticing. Might be true and for all I hope it is but in my case I found not easier at all just different. So I wish I had gone in a bit more prepared rather than with a been here done this attitude which did not help! Every birth is unique and the old prepare for the unexpected; as in don't have set expectations is true.
So saying that I wish I went to more yoga classes in preparation for my second rather than what I hoped would be a quick reminder. I found the most useful part of the classes were when Petra explained with the pelvis models about the way the body changes during pregnancy and birth. It was just a huge reality check and actually it was the first time it sunk in what was going on, why different bits were aching and what giving birth was about. During labour, especially the first part, the golden breath were what I used the most and then the appreciation technique too. Really helped to focus and count breaths I found. But I could have done with more yoga in the build up to the main event especially as the classes were my one bit of me time. And now have two that is never going to happen is it?? But looking forward to baby yoga!
l. o.
Yoga with Petra is the perfect way to wake your body and mind before work. The fact Petra can created a class that fits into our office and working day ensures it's a fixture of our week we never miss!

I found Petra online and am extremely pleased I did. Her classes were fantastic while I was pregnant. I always found I slept a lot better and was more relaxed after each class. I really appreciated having a similar routine, relaxed studio and a small class size.
I felt her classes really prepared me for labour and her partner workshop was really helpful to share with my husband many of the techniques I had learnt. Another lovely aspect of the classes were labour stories from other women that had attended the class. I liked the honesty and hearing what techniques had worked for them from the class.
I found out late on in my pregnancy my daughter was breached so I decided to have an elected c-section. However I ended up going into labour before this planned date. The breathing techniques were fantastic and allowed me to manage contractions until quite far delated before going into surgery. I had some complications with my back so it took a number of attempts for an epidural to be successful across 1.5 hours. Again the breathing allowed me to remain calm and to zone out from the bright lights in the operation theatre.
I highly recommend these classes for and expectant mother and look forward to mum and baby classes.

If you want an intelligent, extremely knowledgeable, down to earth and witty instructor who will not sell you any BS and injure you - then Petra is for you. I have had many yoga instructors but she is by far the best. She is different than others as she has a number of solid foundations to do this job well: 1) she was a ballerina and has been physically active since an early age and understands the body and 2) her STEM PhD gives her foundations to deeply understand what yoga does to your body and how to use it to improve your physical flaws and gain mental balance. She actually understands the forces at work on your knees and hips while in an asana! On top of that, she is a very funny person and yoga with her is a lot of fun. She has an individual approach and will assess your physique (strengths and weaknesses), and will be very careful not to push you into an “instagram pose” and cause an injury. She is focused on using yoga for the benefit of your body and mind. Try her. You’ll have fun while improving your body and mental health!
R. M.
Yoga with Petra not only helped me during my pregnancy but prepared me for the labour too!
The breathing techniques, various labour positions and massage techniques in the couples preparation was just what was needed to help focus and stay in control during the labour.
It is a must for anyone who is pregnant!!!

Petra is a fabulous teacher! I can't recommend her enough. She knows a great deal about yoga and anatomy. She's a challenging but really safe teacher to work with. And she's good fun!
J. M.
Great yoga sessions - Petra is a knowledgable teacher who guides you through the poses with modifications to make them easier or very challenging! Always good fun
P. G.
Highly recommended.
My Ashtanga practice has progressed a great deal since I joined Petra's self practice classes. I was stuck on some of the asanas despite regular practice at drop-in classes elsewhere. Petra has introduced focused techniques to help with my flexibility and I've made improvements in a matter of weeks.
A. E.
Great classes - Petra allows you to focus on your yoga and soothes your little one if they need it. She tailors the poses to each person so it doesn't matter how flexible you are. Really friendly atmosphere and lovely venue.

I practice regularly with Petra and I can't tell you how much it sorts me out- the practice relieves me of the many discomforts my body has (desk-based work) and it leaves me feeling centred and calm. Petra gives you individualised tips even in group sessions. I highly recommend her sessions to all.

I've suffered with lower back pain for 10 yrs but in the last year it became much worse. There was an ever present ache with shooting sciatic pain into my legs whenever I moved. I was taking progressively stronger pain killers but still struggling to sleep and it was impossible to function effectively at home and work. After 4 months of seeing Doctors, Physios and Osteopaths I went for an MRI. The scan identified a number of issues with the discs in my lower back and I was referred to a Neurosurgeon.
It was at this point that I contacted Petra as a last attempt to avoid the risks and long term consequences of surgery.
As soon as I spoke to Petra I was confident that I had made the right choice. She gave me a clear explanation of what my problem was, a structured plan for how we were going to deal with it and even a timeframe. The first step was to get me pain free and then start the process of strengthening and rehabilitating my back. The initial sessions didn't resemble yoga because the range and type of movements I could manage were so limited. However, over the next few sessions I started to see marginal improvements and Petra slowly introduced more exercises following what was obviously a tested and proven path. She also gave me a number of exercises to do twice a day at home. These exercises were a key part of the rehab and 20mins in the morning and evening was a small commitment compared to the pain I was in.
It's now 3 months since I started with Petra and I've been pain free for 2 months. My back is as good as it has been at any point in the last 10 yrs. I still wake up some mornings with stiffness but Petra has taught me how to manage my back on these days and adjust my exercises. I've even started to do many of the activities and sports I was forced to give up before. Most unexpectedly I've really enjoyed the experience of yoga and found a passion for it that's surprised me. I now see it as an activity that I will continue for the rest of my life and it's one more thing I have to thank Petra for.

My neck got blocked because of doing some silly inversions at home, and that gave me frightful headaches for about 2 weeks - Petra gave me a private lesson during which she guided me through a series of neck and shoulders exercises .. and after just 1 session the pain was gone! would definitely recommend.

I love my practice at 7 am with Petra who is a great teacher: funny and challenging! At last and not least, above all the huge benefits of such a practice: I have gained ONE CM! I am so pleased! Thank you!

Petra is an amazing teacher. The classes are small and she tailors them to suit individual needs - challenging you all the while.

“Thanks to Petra’s wall rope yoga I remember at my advanced age (77) what it was like when I was young…. During the spinal regeneration exercises and for a while after my entire body feels like 15 years old…"

Very grateful for this workshop because it was very useful and interesting. It's always useful to learn something new about backbands. Thanks Petra for sharing something new I should probably use those very much.

(Translated) Dear yogi and lawyer! Every enthusiasm can make you cuddle with the occasional discomfort and the pain we feel or suffer. For the enjoyment and well-being of our practice, it is important not only to be disciplined and regular, but to know enough; so my personal Petrina workshop was in many aspects enlightening! Although I had the feeling that all this "know" before, Petrin's way of explanation was interesting, fun, memorable and, most importantly, extremely useful. A logical and simple blunder, as well as a practical demonstration by an expert teacher such as Petra, reinforced me in my further everyday practice, and the pictures I have stored in my "work memory" will help me to know in the future every asan I know yet Better what I do and why I do it. Thank you, Petro!

Dragi jogiji i jogine!

Namaste.
