Marie is so wonderful - I always feel so good after attending one of her classes. I started with the pregnancy yoga and now attend her mother and baby yoga sessions. I’ve enjoyed both hugely and Marie has helped me in so many ways. She also makes DELICIOUS healthy cakes and lunches! Amazing value and also a lovely way to meet other new mums.

I started Marie's classes in my first pregnancy and continued postnatally. It was a real life line. I'm now back for my second pregnancy and loving the gentle pace and nurturing community. I cannot recommend these classes and Marie enough.

Marie is a wonderfully compassionate teacher that genuinely cares about the people in her class (including the little people if you’re doing mum & baby yoga) She puts you at ease instantly and also makes the most delicious food!

I was always looking forward to join Marie's yoga classes after work. Once I was entering the class Marie was always having a way to make you feel relieved and calm. Her positive energy was giving me courage to move on and focus on the positive side of life. It's a shame that I won't be able to join her classes any more. I recommend her highly!

I started going to Marie's classes when i was around 14 weeks' pregnant and continued up to having my baby, then to the mum & baby classes and I'm now going to the regular yoga classes with Marie.
Going to these classes has had such a positive impact on my life. I'm so grateful for the support the classes offered during pregnancy. Marie is incredibly knowledgeable, but also so generous (and an unbelievably talented baker!); on the day my waters broke and I was in a bit of a frazzle due to some minor complications, she gave me the gentle pep talk I so needed. My husband had joined me for a partners' night in preparation for labour and he too was struck by the positive energy he felt from this class and how helpful it was. I have no doubt that the classes - the yoga techniques coupled with Marie's wisdom and encouragement - helped me to approach my labour calmly and with courage so that despite things not going 'to plan' I look back on that time as a positive and even somewhat serene experience.
The mum and baby classes were then a lifeline during those crazy first months of motherhood. Again Marie's calming presence and experience was a boon. The yoga and the feeling of being in a safe space with other mothers going through the same thing were a haven for me at that time.
Now, almost 2 years on from my first pregancy yoga class, I go to the weekly classes and I also try to go Marie's yoga retreats. Marie's passion for yoga is infectious. Her knowledge and experience, along with the supportive atmosphere make these classes seriously special.

I came to Marie’s pregnancy yoga class expecting bit of exercise and I got so much more. Classes were great to prepare body via asanas, breath work and meditation, but Marie also creates small informal community of mums to be that support each other. By sharing her experience, knowledge and kindness she greatly helped to relax for the birth and transition into motherhood. And there is a cake at the end of each class :)

Highly recommend Marie's classes. I attended pregnancy and mother and baby yoga. For both births midwives commented on my breathing techniques and calmness. Marie is a fantastic yoga teacher whose approach is kind, nurturing and knowledgeable. As mentioned in previous reviews - words really cannot do justice on how grateful I am to her for helping me both mentally and physically at the start of my motherhood journey.

I started pregnancy yoga at around 16 weeks as I was finding I had very little energy to do my usual exercise and wanted to be more active. I was completely blown away, Marie's classes go way beyond the expectations of any yoga class! Not only did she teach us postures and breathing techniques to help us relax throughout pregnancy and in preparation for labour, she offers support and encouraged us to share our thoughts and feelings week by week as our bodies were changing. I left each class completely relaxed and energised, they really were the highlight of my week.
My partner and I also went to a couples night where Marie guided us through the stages of labour, and demonstrated massage and breathing techniques. This was invaluable, as my husband felt he knew how to support me and keep us both calm once labour had started. It was a very long labour and I even went too a class whilst having contractions!! I can honestly say that I had an amazing experience because I felt like I knew what was happening and remained completely calm and positive throughout thanks to Marie's guidance and reassurance.
I couldn't wait to start baby yoga when my daughter was 6 weeks! It was so much fun playing with her, learning songs and massage techniques which I still do with her now.
I cannot rate Marie highly enough, feel so lucky to have met her and the other mums in my classes. My pregnancy and maternity leave have been an incredible experience thanks to her, can't wait to do it all again for the next one!

Yes, it’s pregnancy yoga but not just yoga while pregnant. Marie supports her students on their motherhood journeys by providing intimate and warm classes of no more than 6 women in her cost home, fostering a community environment. Marie teaches breathing techniques, connection with the mind and body, how to move through labor as well as about labor itself. I’ve met and maintained friendships with the women in these classes as we’ve rooted each other on until labor and then we see each other again in the mum and baby classes. We’ve shared our birth stories, ups and downs. Marie provides tea / lunch with her classes really rounding out the feeding of the mind, body and soul. It’s everything I could have needed without knowing all I needed on my transition into motherhood.
We also hired Marie as our Doula. She absolutely was my birth mom and took special care to understand what I and my husband needed from her and provided just that on the birthday of our daughter. She’ll always hold a very special place in our hearts.

I really look forward to Marie's classes each week they have been nothing short of a lifeline for me. Marie has guided me (and plenty of others) from mid pregnancy through to being a first-time Mum and has been incredibly supportive and caring in the process. In all the classes I have really benefited from the breathing and relaxation techniques, as well as the yoga stretches and chilled music. I think my little boy who is just 6 months recognises her yoga space and loves the classes too. One key point that I love about Marie's classes is we are open to ask any questions and bring up any issues we are having and know that there will be no judgements made, but lots of useful advice. We pretty much always have a giggle too, I would definitely recommend.

I started yoga with Marie whilst I was pregnant expecting Twins. In short, this class was the best preparation I could have done for childbirth. I delivered two healthy little girls on gas and air and lots of yoga breathing. It set me up mentally and physically, and helped my partner coach me through a tough labour too.
I started baby yoga when the girls were only a few weeks old. Marie could not have been more helpful - giving me the confidence and support I needed as a new mum to come a long each week and get some mental strength, peace and physical recovery.
I have now started having private 1-2-1's with Marie and have been impressed with her scientific approach to yoga. She has a great understanding of biology and physiology and has created some fantastic practises for me to follow. She is down to earth, extremely knowledgable and has a wealth or personal experiences to draw on.
Above all that, Marie is a top lady - I think you can guess I am quite a fan!! :)

GentlyStrongYoga is more than just a provider of (pregnancy) yoga classes. It has supported me both physically and mentally. Before starting the classes with Marie, I had no idea giving birth could be a positive experience. Marie gave me the confidence needed to feel in control during labour. I’ll be her forever thankful. On top it has proven a great place to meet other mums (to be) too. Definitely recommend!

Marie is an excellent yoga teacher with an awareness of her students abilities and needs. She has great compassion and a lovely sense of humour. Following a diagnosis of breast cancer in 2016, I started a 1:2 class with Marie and found her support and teaching invaluable. Now I look forward to her evening class and can attest to its benefits for fitness and well-being.

Marie's classes are great. I started attending when I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer early 2015. Her understanding of what I was going through and the limitations was great and much appreciated. Not being particularly flexible and used to doing competitive sport yoga was not something I thought I would enjoy but Marie makes her classes enjoyable for all and teaches the ethos of yoga admirably. Thanks Marie!

I took Marie's pregnancy and mother & baby yoga classes. They became an important bit of time out for me. Marie is kind, supportive and highly knowledgeable about what works for your body through pregnancy, labour and post-birth recovery. I would highly recommend Marie's yoga classes.

Marie is a fantastic teacher. She always reads the mood and steers the class to fit this perfectly. Marie has an incredibly nurturing nature so you feel fully supported throughout the class. I can’t recommend her enough.

I love Marie's classes. Friendly, fun, relaxing with lovely people. On top of that Marie is a very intuitive gentle teacher who is always able to tailor the class to an individual's needs for example if they have pelvic pain during or after pregnancy or have had a section.
The classes go way beyond regular yoga classes because they help to build your confidence in your body & in your ability to birth your baby using the simple techniques taught. In addition they help you to build a community around you of others going through similar things to you & as such are very social with tea & food at the end of each. If you need anything else to recommend them to you let it be this - Marie is an awesome cook / baker & there is always something super delicious at the end :-)

Marie's class has been a life line for me throughout my pregnancy and in the first few months of my baby's life. It's not just a yoga class, it's so much more. Marie is kind and supportive; she spoke to me on the phone during my labour and when I first got back home with my newborn!
The techniques I learnt in the pregnancy sessions helped me through my labour and made me so much more relaxed. The mother and baby yoga is a fabulous bonding experience and a retreat from the day to day routine of caring for your baby - not to mention her food is delicious and healthy! The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting - your baby could be being the worst behaved and it wouldn't matter to Marie!
Honestly, I couldn't recommend the classes highly enough and am so grateful that I found them.

Marie is a truly special and inspirational lady and I was so lucky to have found her during my pregnancy. I tried another pregnancy yoga and came away thinking “I can never be a mother, what have I done?” Then someone recommended Marie and I was instantly happier.
Why I love the classes:
- The pregnancy yoga is at her home in a cosy and intimate setting. There’s usually only about 6 people so you really get her full attention and plenty of yoga time.
- I was not the type to be constantly moaning/talking about pregnancy and Marie encourages everyone to share thoughts and feelings without judgment and I really learnt a lot through that process.
- Marie is a trained Doula so she genuinely knows what she’s talking about. She has also spent years helping people in physical rehab so understands the healing process of the body (both for mother and baby).
- The pregnancy yoga was so calming and relaxing I looked forward to it every week.
- As a first time mother, I had no comprehension of how hard it would be after the baby arrived. Once again Marie was there to support us on this journey and I honestly don’t know what I would’ve done without her advice.
- She also makes amazing cakes for every session and even does lunch for baby and mums, the best treat and break 😉
This is the best yoga class you will find, I hope you get the chance to experience it.

I have attended Marie's Pregnancy Yoga and Mother and Baby yoga classes and have thoroughly enjoyed them. Marie is very welcoming and the classes are relaxed and have a very friendly atmosphere. My daughter loved the baby massages and singing, which were thrown into the mix!. I would highly recommend these classes.

I first attended Marie’s yoga classes about 7 years ago and I’ve been working with her on a 1-1 basis for the last 5 years. Throughout that time I have found Marie to be incredibly knowledgeable, kind and always understanding of exactly what I need from my yoga practice at different times. She is an expert at adapting yoga practice to the individual. I always go away from my 1-1 sessions feeling inspired. Thank you Marie and I hope to continue working with you for many more years!

Marie is a great yoga teacher. Her classes come from a place of great wisdom and offer a true insight into the meaning of yoga practise. She has a very compassionate approach and teaches to the level of ability and understanding of her students.

Marie is a very experienced, knowledgeable, patient and insightful teacher. I started my yoga journey with her several years ago and she has helped me in so many ways! Would recommend her to anyone whether experienced or new to yoga, she will help bring you to you.

I met Marie initially as my Pregnancy Yoga teacher when, as a first time mum, I was expecting my daughter. These classes were hugely supportive; as a community of mums brought together, I learnt to tune in and connect to my body and my baby, I was given the tools to work with the changes that were taking place in my body and mind everyday, and emotionally prepare for the birth and the huge transition into motherhood that lay ahead.
Marie is exceptionally trained and experienced, but is also an incredible woman. I felt honoured and very lucky to have been supported by her during this incredible time in my life. Which is why we then, asked her to be our doula - again, was an exceptional experience having her a part of that. I was incredibly blessed to have had a smooth, natural homebirth to my daughter last April.
I then attended her post natal classes at her home for 6 months which became a lifeline in those first few months (and she makes the most incredible lunch and cake!). And now I see her as a 1:1 client
In closing, Marie can't get rid of me!
I can't thank her enough and would keenly recommend her to anyone.

I moved to Reading 2 months before birth and Marie's class really helped me prepare for birth. She gave me the key to breathing properly, helped me through a 2 day labour. Post birth is a god send as well. Welcoming, personal experience. Totally recommended!

Excellent classes, I've attended pre and post natal twice and also the advanced normal classes. Classes are varied and alternate positions are given so you can tailor your own practice. Can't recommend highly enough to do Marie justice.
